Chapter 494: Five years

What kind of existence is the Holy Maiden of the “Edge” organization, and what will become of her in the future, Qin Ran did not want to know.

What are the benefits and disadvantages of the Kung Fu she practiced? Did she cultivate it on her own initiative, or was she forced to do so by the organization?

Is she under the control of the Karma organization, doing things she can’t help but do? She’s a good person at heart.

Does she treat herself differently than others? She actually likes herself ……

None of these questions had occurred to Qin Ran.

Ripples would ripple through his heart as a pair of affectionate, tender eyes floated through his mind from time to time. So he cursed under his breath: vixen.

Whether or not he had a heart for that holy maiden was the main question Qin Ran studied in his spare time.

After studying it for a long time, he finally determined that his heart moved. But only in the physical sense, his heart moved, but his thinking soul had no feelings for the Holy Maiden.

Because his soul rationally told him that the Holy Maiden wouldn’t like him, he would think that the Holy Maiden liked him, that he would be attracted to the Holy Maiden, all because of her Kung Fu.

Her feats drew him in.

So, he would feel restless whenever the Holy Maiden came to him, but usually he was calm and quiet and went about his life.

Reading, practicing, alchemy, making tea ……

Let time slip by at a leisurely pace.

Qin Ran read the books very carefully and not too slowly, so he read the books very slowly. The books on basic medicinal herbs sent by Boss Pang took him over a year to read before he finished them.

It was an afternoon and the sun was shining brightly outside the window. As he turned over the last page of the last medicine book, his heart was extraordinarily relaxed and happy, filled with a sense of accomplishment. It was the same as the sunlight outside the window.

He took a deep breath, closed the book, and looked up to see the turquoise blue water outside the window glowing with sunlight, sapphire blue and dreamy in its beauty.

He exhaled, stood up, stretched beautifully, and laughed, “Where is not cultivation?”

This year or so had gone by so regularly that it gave him a feeling that he had returned to Dan Feng, or Dan Feng without Li Shiyin.

He was just a doppelganger, and he wasn’t interested in Li Shiyin, so he felt that the Dan Summit was better off without Li Shiyin.

Placing the book on the shelf, saving it for later to continue reading, he turned back to make a pot of medicinal tea, he poured himself a cup and sat down in front of the window, looking out over the beautiful view of the deep sea, and slowly sipped it.

And then again, before he got up and went out the door.

After the medicinal herb books were finished, then it was time to take the next step, practicing the control of the dan water. To practice the control of dan water, then one would need to find Pang Xuan to get a batch of medicinal herbs.

Outside, standing in the spacious passageway, listening carefully, I could hear ragged panting in the room across the hall.

Across the room from him was the chief old man. This old man was as horny as hell, if he wasn’t refining pills, he was definitely on a woman’s belly.

With his status as the Chief Alchemist, I don’t know if there are any female alchemists in this base who haven’t been slept with by him. One can only say that people have their own aspirations, and the old man’s desperate alchemy and cultivation, the status, resources, cultivation, power, longevity, body, and all of it, was all for the sake of banging a few more women.

Qin Ran expressed understanding, but disagreed.

After all, he was only an alter ego, and from the time he was created, it was to serve the will of the main body.

He closed the door and turned down the passage, heading out.

He could use his identity token to instantly teleport outside the base, but there was no need. He needed to walk around more and familiarize himself with the base.

The base of this “edge” organization is roughly divided into three areas, accommodation area, alchemy area, storage area.

The alchemist’s alchemy area, the refiner’s refining area, and the talisman maker’s talisman making area; the storage area is where pills, magic weapons, and talismans are kept.

The accommodation area would be roughly divided into a high-grade accommodation area and a prison area. This was the name Qin Ran had taken.

The area where he lived, past the center altar, had wide passages, bright lights, and luxurious rooms, clearly belonging to a high-grade accommodation area;

But on the other side of the altar, the lights were dim, the rooms were cramped, and the accommodations were harsh and prison-like. Here lived, low level alchemists, alchemists who couldn’t make pills, alchemists who had just been captured and hadn’t yet resigned themselves to their fate, and alchemists who were about to be executed. This is the prison area.

As Qin Ran slowly walked from inside to outside, the upscale accommodation area, he was greeted with respect along the way, these were all alchemists who had been taught by him. Either because he had survived, or because he had been rewarded handsomely, or because he hadn’t crashed into the prison area.

And after he walked past the altar and into the prison area, what he saw and heard was horrible and hellish. Even, as he passed a certain room, he heard the people inside planning their escape.

But none of it had anything to do with him, and he walked straight through the prison area to the gate.

He used his identity token to open the gate and walked out to the platform at the half-cliff.

Speaking of which, while he wasn’t restricted in his freedom, this time, it was the first time he’d come out of the base since he’d walked in.

For almost two years, he hadn’t even left the house, and this was the awesome thing about practicing geeks.

Standing on the platform, Qin Ran looked forward, in front of him was an endless expanse of sea, one or two white seagulls spread their wings and crossed over from the distant sky, cutting a beautiful curve and disappearing into the sea level.

He breathed in the salty, humid air from the ocean breeze, quietly taking in the taste of the sea air on his face.

“It’s nice to get out once in a while!” He narrowed his eyes and laughed, “You’ll have to come out more often from now on.”

Saying that, he performed his body technique and flew up from the platform at the half-cliff, through the formation, to the land, and then all the way into the Devil’s City, where he found the Edge Tea House and walked in.

Pang Xuan was still sleeping behind the counter, his fat ball of a body making you worry that he would roll off the bed.

Qin Ran went up to the table and knocked on it twice more before waking him up.

“Mr. Knight!” Pang Xuan climbed up with difficulty, smiled and narrowed his eyes as he saluted Qin Ran, “Long time no see, Mr. Li!” “Every time I see you, you’re sleeping, your mission is quite free.” Qin Ran laughed, “I’m really eyeing it.”

“Which is not ……,” Pang Xuan snorted.

“I’ve finished reading the medicinal herb book, so there shouldn’t be any problem with the first day’s examination of spirit medicines and spirit herbs.” Qin Ran spoke to Pang Xuan about business, “That’s why I need a batch of spirit medicines now to work on my control of Divine Flower Immortal Condensation for the second day’s assessment.”

“Mr. Knight personally ran here for this?” Pang Xuan smiled and said, “For the sake of the competition, it’s all trivial. I’ll greet the medicine masters later and have them send you medicine on time.”

“Uh-huh!” Qin Ran nodded and turned to head out, saying, “Remember to send more, exercising consumes spirit medicine.”

“Yes.” Pang Xuan answered.

Walking out of the teahouse and standing on the street, Qin Ran looked at the people coming and going on the street, and after hesitating for a while, he went to the blacksmith store. He asked the master of the blacksmith store to build a set of kitchenware according to his request.

So when the holy maiden came to Qin Ran’s room once again, what she saw was a Qin Ran who was cooking.

The room was filled with the sweet smell of fish bone soup, and she looked at Qin Ran and asked incredulously, “You …… are cooking this? You can still cook?”

“Right!” Qin Ran nodded his head, diced the tofu he’d messed up, threw it into the fish soup, and asked the Holy Maiden, “I’m not too bad with my hands, do you want some?”

The Holy Maiden shook her head back and forth, “Forget it, I don’t like to eat this kind of mortal grains.”

“Rather a pity.” Qin Ran covered the pot, letting the tofu cook in the fish soup, and asked the Holy Maiden, “Have you run out of pills again?”

The Holy Maiden took out a bag of herbs from her scented pouch and placed it on the table, saying, “You can help me refine some more.”

Qin Ran looked at the herbs on the table and hesitated for a moment before asking the Holy Maiden, “Do you have the feeling that the consumption of the Cloud Spirit Stripe Pill is becoming greater?”

“Yes?” The Virgin’s eyes widened.

“I don’t know.” Qin Ran shook his head.

He served up a bowl of tofu and fish soup, tried the flavor and it was fine, so he brought it to the table and served another bowl of rice over to eat.

As he ate, he saw that the saintly woman hadn’t left yet, and asked again, “Do you want to try it?”

The Virgin hesitated and pointed to the fish soup, “I’ll try some soup.”

Qin Ran then took a bowl and served her a bowl.

Bowl after bowl, she ate all the fish and tofu.

I don’t know if it was because Qin Ran’s cooking had captured her stomach or some other reason, the holy maiden came to Qin Ran’s room more and more often.

And Qin Ran didn’t have any other hobbies, he just liked mouthfuls of food. So while he practiced cultivation, read books, and alchemy, he often went out of his base to the various cities of Alcatraz, looking for all kinds of ingredients in order to study cuisine, or dark cuisine.

The Virgin has eaten a lot of strange things as a result.

Such days were three years in a flash, and in the blink of an eye, it was time to head to the Sea Lang Sect to participate in the competition.
