Chapter 584: Ranch’s Invisible Guardian

Chapter 571 – Ranchi’s Invisible Guardian

As they crossed the bay in their streamlined magical speedboat, the lights on the bridge refracted a dull glow through the water, while the skyline of the Demon King City Nekalis remained unseen in the distance.

“The Blood Envoy will arrive in the Demon King City today, so I guess it won’t be light all morning.”

Lysandra looked at the six o’clock night sky and sighed.

In order to welcome the visiting Blood Clan envoys, the Demon Clan had even opened a canopy boundary in the royal capital of Necaris, blocking the sunlight like an eclipse.

Looking towards the distant bay of Nekar Island, those dark-colored mansions and short mansions on the opposite shore looked like they were stacked fantastically with dark gold, and the city of Nekalis was still full of mystery and beauty, as if it was the enchantment of the first sight at dawn.

The amber-colored magical carriers flew past on the sea.

Just as they were speeding parallel to the elevated bridges and getting closer and closer to Naika Island, a sound of air currents from the flapping of feathers rang out, and a small Flying Dragon Cavalry Officer caught up with them with difficulty.

“Halt! Subject to inspection!”

The Demon World officer shouted sternly over the wind and waves.

Today was the day that the envoy of the Blood Race came to visit, and the traffic near the royal palace of Naika Island was blocked off and limited to several speeds, but I didn’t expect that there would be a Demon Race who preferred to take the sea road straight through towards the direction of the royal palace on this very day.

“I’m working over at the royal palace ……”

Lissandra hurriedly turned back and said weakly.

Before she could finish speaking.

“There is no need to worry, Lisandra.”

Ranch’s voice was loud and firm, and he had no intention of slowing down.

He simply pulled a piece of identification out of the driver’s side drawer and held it up without looking back, causing the Demon World officer chasing after him to see what was on it.

“So it’s you!”

The Demon Realm Police Officer immediately saluted, his voice full of respect, and pulled on the reins of the Flying Dragon instantly reversing its direction, and

“I’ll definitely recognize you next time, Mr. McCarthy, I’m really sorry!”

“……”

Lysandra looked back at the fading Demon Realm Officer, and then at McCarthy beside her in surprise.

“I did a small favor for their boss.”

Ranch explained to Lysandra.

“Normally I don’t drive this fast, today was a special occasion and I needed to make sure you got to the palace on time, but I promise I wasn’t speeding, I never break traffic laws.”

He dropped his papers back into the drawer, only to find a copy of the current version of the Magic World’s statute book lying inside.

“Oh.”

Lysandra staggered for half a second.

Only at this moment did she realize that the princess-like good-natured Demon beside her was actually an existence from another world.

He was incredibly powerful, rich and influential in this Demon King City of Nekalis, filled with friends who were willing to do him favors, just as he had easily charmed Miss Tia yesterday.

It didn’t take long before they managed to land on the other side of the river and get back on the road.

The closer they got to the vicinity of the royal palace on Naika Island, the more congested the traffic seemed.

“To be honest, this is the first time I’ve come to Naika Island’s royal palace.”

Ranchi looked at the time and turned off the Magic King City radio program in the car.

In the center of this bustling city-state, the radio program could be heard on the stereos everywhere even without the need to turn on a private device.

He made sure that driving slowly at this distance wouldn’t make Lysandra late, so he didn’t let her out of the car to walk there alone.

“After all, you’ve only just arrived in the royal capital of Nekalis.”

Lissandra stood up a little in her seat and looked out at the streets of the square outside the palace filled with demons.

Traffic was particularly congested today due to the blocking off of some of the roads, and she could have been late for work as usual, but luckily she had chosen the waterway. “Thank goodness you gave me a ride today, Mr. McCarthy.”

Lysandra said with a rare hint of resentment.

She was actually resentful of the arrival of the Blood Envoy.

Why did they have to sacrifice half of the day to facilitate the Blood Race when the Blood Race came during the day?
This kind of weak treaty made it seem like they had to be inferior to the Blood Race in every way.

“I also feel that it’s not very reasonable to block off traffic like this, and it’s even more unreasonable to spend the magic world’s tax revenue to open the extremely costly Canopy Boundary, the only thing that will make everyone happy is that they might be able to come here and watch a Blood program this morning.”

Ranch leaned back in his seat and drove slowly, the demons walking in line beside him walking past the open glass.

“It is said that this Count Sergio is a first class detective of the Bloods, and many of the great powers of the Demons would like to see some of his reasoning today.”

Lysandra agreed.

Although she and McCarthy were in agreement and both wanted to scold the Blood Race, her position was such that she couldn’t really insult the Blood Race to their faces.

For most of the Demons who had gathered here as early as possible to see what was going on, this was a unique show of detective acting.

Of course, it also had to do with Sergio’s powers.

He basically took the results to prove the process.

Count Sergio can first find out who the murderer is based on the powers, but of course this can’t be used as direct evidence, because only his own perspective can tell who the murderer is based on the powers, and all he has to do is prove it.

Since the Bloods preferred the darkness of the night, today’s arrival should have started before she went to work.

Now Lysandra and Ranch looked out the window to the magic-working screen on a high building and could see the state of the front square of the palace where the Blood Count was being received.

“The princess is more calm than expected.”

Lysandra sighed.

It wasn’t clear if the Princess could really conclude that the murderer wasn’t a Demon, or if she had a backhanded way of dealing with the Blood Detectives.

She wasn’t the only one who thought so, but the walking Demons walking by outside the convertible also made murmurs every now and then.

But McCarthy didn’t respond to her.

Lysandra looked sideways, only to see McCarthy looking at Princess Huberian on the giant screen image, smiling slightly.

“The princess is beautiful isn’t she?”

Lysandra asked tentatively.

She rarely saw a princess in full regalia, and she didn’t expect Rocky McCarthy to look mesmerized without thinking.

The dancing steps in front of the royal palace shone, her face was exquisite and magnificent, her long silver hair hung down like a waterfall, softly covering the long light blue dress, the hem of the dress lightly scattered at the bottom of the steps, and she walked down step by step.

“Hmm.”

Ranchi hesitated for a moment and nodded in response.

“Unfortunately, everyone only sees the princess shining at the moment, but they don’t realize that she’s the one who’s really being tested today.”

Lysandra said regretfully.

For an occasion like today, she wasn’t even qualified to accompany the princess out on the stage, the only one who followed her was Fallen Secretary Caliera, who was keeping her safe.

“Don’t worry, Your Highness looks like a Demon with great fortune, so maybe this Blood Count’s reasoning show will be over soon, and the princess won’t be in any trouble.”

Ranchi said with a very optimistic smile.

It was like it felt like things were over before they even started.

“I hope so ……”

Lysandra muttered worriedly to herself.

Mr. McCarthy made it sound too easy, how could there be such a good thing as paying a random, nebulous price to solve a problem in a flash.
