387. Chapter 381 – Huberian and Sigrid’s Meeting

Chapter 381 – Huberian and Sigrid’s Meeting
The north side of the Protoss Royal Magic Academy.

The moonlight penetrated through the deep clouds, slightly giving a little light to Gloria’s independent mansion beside the street, which occupied the entire area, surrounded by a carefully planned courtyard, in which the vegetation appeared a verdant deep green in the moonlight, and the water in the fountain pool made a fine gurgling sound under the raindrops.

The windows on the first floor of the mansion were blocked by curtains, and only the faint light coming through the cracks could tell that the people in the mansion were still awake.

“It’s been a hard journey for you.”

Ranch held up his umbrella and led Huberian down the school’s late-night road, and in front of him was the mansion of Gloria, the direct soldier.

After dropping Myrcula off at the lodgings Earl Milford had reserved for them at the Royal Academy of Magic in Protoss, Ranch and Huberian continued north, arriving in the vicinity of Gloria’s house in a few minutes.

“Luckily, the journey went well.”

Huberian shook her head, she didn’t want Ranchi to know about the danger she encountered in the Box Hill Province, she was afraid that Ranchi would go to help her to take revenge on the Silent Branch.

Thinking back carefully, whenever she was bullied in Ichorite, Ranch would help her get back at her, and she didn’t know if Ranch did it intentionally or unintentionally, but anyway, his motives always seemed to be great, honorable, and right.

Even though Ranchi was now in a high position in the Protoss Empire that made her unable to come to terms with it so far, she was well aware of the terrifying extent of the Silent Bishop, a supreme powerhouse that even the Ice Witch Teacher would find it difficult to fight against.

Rancic smiled and nodded, as if believing what she had said, and pushed open the fenced gate to the courtyard with one hand, holding the umbrella above Huberian’s head and walking in with her.

The wet cobblestone paths of the courtyard were even more crystalline in the moonlight, and the rain pattered down, nearly drowning out the sound of the gentle steps.

Hubertine followed Ranch quietly.

She didn’t know why Ranch had to come here first thing after returning to school, but figured there was something pressing for him, too.

Regarding Helm’s Prison, it seemed that she would have to ask him about it later, when she was alone with him in a safe location.

Nowadays, the Protoss Empire had the Church of the Resurrection become a regular church under the ridiculous bill, and instead, the Church of the Goddess of Fate was branded as a cult.

However, Huberian believed that Ranch, as a high ranking member of the empire, would definitely agree to help their Goddess of Fate Church for the greater good as well.

Although she wasn’t sure to what extent Ranchi would be willing to provide her with help, and the Ice Witch had repeatedly warned her not to trust any big shots in the Protoss Empire, Huberian wasn’t worried in the slightest that Ranchi would betray her.

Because she simply couldn’t imagine the image of Ranch sneaking her to the stronghold of the Church of the Resurrection one day and handing her over to that group of cultists for judgment.

The two arrived at the door of Gloria’s house.

“Gloria, it’s me.”

Ranch said as he tapped on the door.

Soon, someone opened the door to the mansion, and there wasn’t even much footsteps.

Probably Gloria, the direct soldier, had been waiting behind the door when she noticed the commotion in the courtyard.

“You’re back.”

Gloria said as she owed Ranch a bow as she finally added her salutation.

“……”

This in turn made Rancic a little uncomfortable.

Gloria’s words didn’t sound like the deference of a student to a principal or a subordinate to a superior, but rather carried a sense of submission to her stepfather, like she was beginning to try to come to terms with her stepfather’s relationship with her mother.

Gloria watched Huberian a little in the silence, and, realizing that Huberian was about the same age and of the same age, her slight wariness gradually dropped.

The Holy Son was only supposed to be attracted to older women in their mid-thirties, and a youthful young girl of Huberian’s age would pose no threat to the Lord Bishop.

The fact that the Holy Son was separated from so many young female students in the school by a pathetically thick barrier, and that the Bishop, alone, was able to have an irreplaceable distance from the Holy Son, spoke volumes about the Holy Son’s mental age and preferences.

“Go in first.” Ranch collected his umbrella, handed it to Gloria, and said to Huberian.

“Uh-huh.”

Huberian seemed to feel a little odd, too, but couldn’t say where it was out of place.

She was only probably sure that this schoolgirl named Gloria should not be the real owner of the place.

There must be someone else that Ranch was taking her to see.

Closing the door behind her, the world seemed to fall silent, even the sound of rain was blocked out, the mansion should have been equipped with soundproofing magic guides.

The three of them walked down the hallway leading to the living room, Ranch leading Huberian forward, Gloria following respectfully.

The house was softly lit, illuminating the clean corridors, and the air was filled with the faint scent of jasmine, cedar and distilled spirits blended with incense.

The entire fragrance was like a whispered piece of music, seeming both focused and refreshing, the harmony and balance instantly reassuring.

Seemingly sensing this restfulness, Ranch’s shadow finally moved, and a timid little black figure emerged from it.

“Cat Boss ……”

Huberian knelt down and picked up the little black cat, stroking its head, she had looked around slightly and felt as if this was indeed a woman’s home.

She didn’t know why Ranch had brought her to someone else’s home though.

But a place where the cat owner was willing to come out obviously meant it was safe.

“Meow ……”

Boss Cat didn’t dare to meet Hubert Leanne’s eyes.

It also couldn’t imagine how much shock Hubert Leanne had just suffered.

“……”

Huberian wanted to ask Boss Cat why Ranch had become like this.

But seeing that it was just a cat and looking at Ranch, it was better to let it go.

The smaller the ability, the smaller the responsibility, Boss Cat, would only perform simple life activities.

As an open space came into view, the three of them arrived at the mansion’s parlor.

On that couch, Sigrid was wrapping her arms around it.

“You came back late today.”

Sigrid said with a slightly meek sleepy look in her purple eyes.

She looked like she had been waiting for Ranch for a long time, but there was no blame in her words, just telling him that she hoped he would come back early next time or she might worry.

Huberian sniffed and glanced with some confusion at the light-haired woman with the distinctive air of being extraordinarily domineering, yet with a touch of gentleness.

Huberian was more than just surprised that Ranch had met such a charming woman, what shocked Huberian was what Sigrid’s words implied.

Had Ranch been living with this woman all this time?
Huberian couldn’t imagine at all that just after not seeing her for more than two months, Ranchi had become so undistanced from a female.

Obviously, when he was in Ichorite, Ranch was greasy with women, and the person closest to Ranch wasn’t even Huberian her, but Frey!
