191. Chapter 191 – Huberian’s Fourth Death Star

Chapter 191: Huberian’s Fourth Death Star

On the other side of Ichorite, thick dark clouds were about to cover the skyline of the royal capital.

In the street-side cafe, people gathered in front of the window, holding hot coffee in their hands and looking at the rain outside with misty eyes, the sound of the rain accompanied by the soft jazz music inside the cafe, making the interior of this rainy scene across the street seem extra warm and cozy.

The sudden rainstorm washed over the streets, the raindrops hit the lamps and made a pitter pattering sound, the trees were drenched by the rain and the leaves were heavy, the people on the road had to hide in the nearest stores or hold umbrellas and hurriedly look for a place to avoid the rain.

The wind chimes under the eaves of the Cat Boss Restaurant, located two streets away from Ikaribet Academy, were wet with rainwater and swayed in the wind, emitting a low sound that was not quite the same as usual.

The door of the restaurant was pushed open and closed from time to time, and everything seemed to be calm, with only a few customers sitting in the corner leisurely enjoying their breakfast.

The clerk wiped the glassware at the counter, head bowed in concentration, and the ancient chandelier gave off a warm yellow light, adding some coziness to the small space.

“Why isn’t Boss Cat back ……?”

Ms. Clerk murmured as she looked up at the store’s clock.

Although their restaurant didn’t specialize in breakfast, because of the weather, there were a little more customers than usual.

If Boss Cat didn’t come back later, she might not be able to keep busy by herself juggling the ordering and delivery of food, and would have to go upstairs to ask Ms. Tata to come and help again.

But today Miss Tata seems to be sleeping in, it’s already ten o’clock and I haven’t seen her come downstairs yet.

The clerk looked out the window and quickly understood.

The raindrops hit the eaves, ticking and ticking like a continuous rhythmic soundtrack as the rainwater gathered from the roof to form a small waterfall that dripped along the eaves.

Anyone in this kind of weather would just want to stay home and laze around all day.

The clerk didn’t want to bother Tata if he could help it, and only hoped that the cat, who had been drenched into a black cinderblock by the torrential rain, would hurry back.

” Seventeen’s fine.”

A voice from the back kitchen brought the clerk back to his senses in a hurry and walked quickly in the direction of the back kitchen window.

She gently lifted up a white porcelain plate, on which lay an exquisite dish: golden fried chicken fillet with a dollop of brightly colored fruit salad, garnished with a few drops of light yellow lemon juice, with each of the sauces attached to the divided plate available for the customer to choose from to give a different flavor to the meal.

The staff walks with a light and competent demeanor.

She walked toward a table at the side of the restaurant near the aisle, where a young man quietly sipped his coffee, taking in the view from the window as if he were waiting for something.

He appeared to have handsome features, but his unsharp demeanor made itself unobtrusive.

As the clerk approached, the youth finally looked up with an expectant smile.

“Your chicken chop salad, sir.”

The clerk said gently, placing the plate gently on the table.

“Thanks.”

The youth nodded at the clerk in appreciation before his gaze turned to the exquisite food.

The clerk once again returned behind the counter, she could tell that this guest was not a regular customer of this restaurant, however, his shoulders and the corners of his clothes were still stained with rainwater, the same as quite a few of the customers in the store right now, all of them were temporary customers who were temporarily passing by, and chose to order food and rest their feet here because of the weather.

The restaurant was quiet once again, with only the sound of the rain outside the window and the gentle sound of music, the atmosphere as peaceful as ever.

The young man slowly opened the cloth cutlery bag on the table and took out a delicate silver fork and knife from it.

Though he looked no different from the students of the Ichorite Academy who came to the store from time to time, the way he enjoyed his breakfast revealed an unusual meticulousness and taste, as if he were performing a surgical operation with the same delicacy.

He spread his napkin on his lap before cutting up the chicken fillet in front of him with his knife and fork, stabbing only a small piece at a time, and after placing it in his mouth, he would savor it until he chewed it.

Then he gently sliced off a slice of fresh croissant with his knife, slathered it with a layer of pale yellow butter, and carefully placed it in his mouth.

When he drank his coffee, he did the same.

Instead of sipping it sharply, he savored its aroma before taking a small sip.

His every movement is subdued and precise, and he is naturally and completely immersed in the process, enjoying the meal that is both breakfast and lunch.

About ten minutes had passed, and the meal in front of him had been reduced by only a third without making anyone feel out of place.

He was indeed waiting for a young lady.

Only, it was the target he was about to kill.

He was quite sure that the lady, the Duchess Huberian, was upstairs in this store.

It seemed to have gained a lot after the second Shadow World and had finally moved out of school.

It was normal, some students of the Ichorite Academy didn’t always live in the school dormitories, most of the time they would live in their own residences.

Originally, the only thing he was puzzled about was why Miss Duke chose this place.

However, when he personally tasted the cuisine of this Cat Boss Restaurant at this moment, he realized that indeed there was a reason why Miss Duke would choose this place. “Guest, are you still satisfied with our store?”

The shopkeeper lady delivered another guest’s meal and once again passed by the youth, noticing the satisfied smile on his face if anything, and asked.

Since he was sitting close to the aisle, just by walking towards the store’s entrance – such as heading to the counter – he would pass by his side.

“Very satisfied, and I’ll come back if I get the chance in the future.”

The youth nodded with a genial expression.

Although his mouth said so.

Unfortunately.

I’m afraid I won’t have this opportunity in the future.

This store, today should be the last day of business.

His identity was a second year student of the Yaloran King’s Academy, Phoenix, who was dependent on his younger sister, Phyllis.

But he is actually an elite believer who lurks in the present world, loyal to the Bishop of Destruction, and would never go out under unusual circumstances.

He is usually in a deep state of self-hypnosis and does not even remember that he is a Resurrectionist.

Only when he receives an order or encounters an opportunity to carry out an order will he awaken himself.

He is the only person who can kill Duchess Huberian, or even if he can’t kill her, put her to death and spoil the relationship between the two countries.

Huberian was in the light, he was in the dark, and Phoenix was pretty sure that his fifth-ranked self could hit Huberian’s life-preserving card with a sneak attack at close range.

And this time, not only had he brought along a terrain-blocking knot, equipment to see through invisibility, and two spells gifted by the Bishop of Destruction.

[Grand Puppet Theater]

[Category: Spell Card]

[Grade: Pink Sacred]

[Class: 4]

【Effects: Limited to use on 1st level targets, can control the actions of all targets within 100 meters, the more targets you control, the longer the time, and the more complex the behavior, the greater the mental load and mana consumption, cooldown time: 24 hours].

[Remarks: A quiet death, devoid of dramatic tension.]

In a restaurant setting, using this spell, which is of little use in a normal battle, allows Huberian to easily take the blame for massacring civilians.

Moreover, Huberian, who is already unlikely to kill civilians indiscriminately, will be hamstrung in her actions in the face of sneak attacks and disruptions from civilians who have gone mad suddenly.

This was the Bishop of Destruction’s usual passionate little game, every time the Bishop of Destruction could obviously beat his opponents, but he just liked to take the civilians along to fight with his opponents, and then enjoy the expressions of those noble and righteous people who crumbled as well as their expressions of impotent rage when they mistakenly killed one civilian after another.

As for the second spell–

[Spark of Destruction]

[Category: Spell Card]

[Grade: Pink Sacred]

[Class: 5]

[Passive Effect: When the bearer dies, it triggers an extremely violent and destructive fire-attribute explosion.]]

[Remarks: I’ll lead the killing streak.]]

It will ensure a foolproof kill of Huberian today.

Likewise, it is the destruction of the Bishop’s bestowal of his death.

The restaurant, and the innocent guests inside, would have to follow the Duchess to the grave today, unsurprisingly.

It can’t be considered innocent.

Phoenix smiled, a hint of irony in his calm eyes.

It was as if natural disasters had no eyes, and these civilians just happened to be chosen by the Grim Reaper, that was all.

If there had to be anyone to blame, it would have to be Miss Duke for choosing this place.

Because for Calamity, living would have been her fault.

If she had died on her own earlier, she wouldn’t have killed all these people who had nothing to do with her.
