120.Chapter 120 – Ranchi’s Binding with the Academy of Magical Engineering

Chapter 120 – Ranchi’s Binding with the Magic Works Academy

Early Monday morning.

As the first rays of sunlight poured down on the campus of the Ichorite Academy, golden slanting rays of light rose up and fell on the red brick walls of the old buildings, causing them to glow with a slightly shimmering crystalline light.

Ichorite’s native plants swayed in the morning breeze, the trees and grasses were covered in early morning dew, and a fresh aroma filled the air.

With the warblers chirping loudly, the doors to the main library’s halls slowly opened and students emerged onto the campus, some busy rushing to their morning classes, others enjoying their breakfasts at a leisurely pace, with the occasional sound of laughter.

A few minutes’ walk further across the green lawn where the old Liberal Arts building on the boundary of the Magic School of Engineering stood, and you could see an artful, tower-like glass-walled building, with the sunlight reflecting off of it, making it look tall and luminous.

This fifth floor of the main building of the Magic Engineering Academy.

In the Dean’s office.

Professor Pollao was sitting in front of his work table, surrounded by drawings, parts and various mechanical tools.

He hadn’t been in the office long before he was already holding a mechanical pencil and drawing rapidly on the translucent blue drawings, occasionally stopping to examine the small, delicate parts sitting by the side of the drawings with his magical engineering glasses.

Slightly cropped, his pale hair shimmered in the light of the office, and his eyes were focused, completely absorbed in the task at hand.

Just then.

There were two discreet and slight knocks on the door, as if they didn’t want to disturb Professor Pollao as much as possible, but it was really important.

“Come in.”

Pollao did not look up; his low voice was calm and strong, apparently used to being asked for help by every possible person in between work.

The door was slowly pushed open, and a bright beam of light poured in through the crack, and soon entered a young magical artisan teacher, who gently turned his back and closed the door behind him before greeting Pollao:

“Professor Pollao, good morning, we have received a contact from the Card Maker Association, a student has been set to take the Certified Card Maker Exam on Saturday ……”

The hesitant voice of the young magical artisan teacher echoed in this wide room surrounded by innovative drawings and magical instruments, still seemingly not quite sure of the contents of the document he had received in his hands and wanting to take one last look at it.

“Silver level?”

Professor Pollao asked absentmindedly as he stared at the drawings on his desk, clearly preferring to invest his time and energy into his scientific research rather than this petty affair.

“No. …… It says it’s platinum level.”

The voice of the young Magic Artisan teacher was full of skepticism.

“Oh.”

Prof. Pollao replied, still as unconcerned as ever.

“Hmm? Platinum?”

He then raised his head again, removed the silver-framed glasses resting on the bridge of his nose and placed them on the table, gazing quizzically at the young magical artisan teacher.

In all these years he had never heard of a student who had been directly graded to platinum.

Promotion from the gold level often required the accumulation of a large number of research results in the association, patent recognition, sales of finished products, industry reputation, and many other dimensions to meet the criteria before being qualified to participate in the promotion examination.

Similarly, possessing epic works is one of the most difficult prerequisites to qualify for platinum level.

If you want to bypass these steps to reach the platinum level, then you can only make an orange epic on the Registered Card Maker Exam.

“He made an orange epic on the Registered Card Maker Exam?”

Professor Pollao’s question carried a tone of one point of certainty. At one time, his best student, Migaiya, had made spell cards, summoning cards, and equipment cards, three different categories of Pink Sacred, on the registration exam, which could be described as the ultimate in stable play and all-around coverage, and was only set to Gold level, very close to Platinum.

“Yes, made one Orange Epic and three White Common, and due to that one Orange Epic’s very exaggerated single card score, it was finally set to Platinum.”

The young Magic Artisan teacher nodded his head and stepped forward to hand over all the documents in his hand from the Ichorite Card Maker’s Association to Professor Pollao.

There was a lot of important information in them that needed to be approved and signed by Pollao, who was the dean of the Magic Artisan Academy, as well as possibly needing to communicate with the dean of the Sage Academy as well.

Pollao received the heavy teal-colored cowhide file bag, and directly found out the page with the detailed finished card evaluation form, and began to read it.

To be able to make a third-order epic on the card maker exam, Pollao also felt a bit unbelievable.

Almost no card maker would have the possibility of being able to make an orange epic at such an early stage.

Even with extremely rare materials and the best of perfect play, a heavenly talent should only be able to make a Pink Sacred to a certain extent.

“It shouldn’t be, it shouldn’t be.”

Pollao muttered as he stared at the crafting process and detailed analysis of that epic piece [Radiant Virtue].

Every epic card possessed uniqueness that would anchor the world and run through history, and the person who was able to create such a card would possess a small amount of legend themselves, and would never be possessed by a teenager.

“Do we really have such a powerful student?”

Professor Pollao simply didn’t feel that there were such wizards among the freshman veterans of the Magic Engineering Academy.

He couldn’t be more clear about how much weight each student had.

Although it was accurate to say that the direct grading platinum was also currently still a gold grade, but as long as one acquired this qualification, it was only a matter of time before they walked through the approval process and became platinum graded, as fast as a few months, as slow as a year, there would be a student who would become a full-fledged platinum graded card maker.

“…… is from the Academy of Sages and is called Ranch Wilford.”

The teacher of the Magic Engineering Academy who was standing in front of the desk waiting like a valet could only awkwardly prompt when he saw that Professor Pollao was still focusing on the analysis report of the Epic Cards.

“!”

The veins on Professor Pollao’s forehead jumped when he heard that name, and he slowly put down the document in his hand.

He remembered this name vividly.

“What a rising eastern sun ……”

Pollao couldn’t help but mutter to himself as he looked out the window at the morning sun.

It was that guy who broke the Artificial Shadow World Startup Terminal in the first place, causing him to have to put aside the scientific research project at hand under the begging of Loren, the head of the Sage Academy, and rushed to make emergency repairs overnight.

The most important thing was that the huge amount of scientific research funds advanced by their Magic Engineering Academy had not been approved for reimbursement so far!
“Because the handover work on the Card Maker Association’s side is basically with our Magic Engineering Academy, and the Sage Academy’s side isn’t too familiar with these contents, Dean Loren has made an appointment to come and visit you later, and will bring Ranch Wilford to see you.”

The young Magical Artisan teacher sensed the unpleasant atmosphere in the Dean’s room and hurriedly bowed to Professor Pollao before preparing to leave.

He knew that last year the Houghton Kingdom’s financial situation was not good, the Magic Artisan Academy was cut by a hundred pounds per month Professor Pollao was furious, not to mention this time because of Ranch before the start of the school that is a full eight thousand pounds of astronomical losses.

“I know, let Loren come over directly.”

Pollao said with some gnashing of teeth, the eyes that wanted to stab someone could not be hidden.
