Chapter 10: Advancement of Professionals

Chapter 10 Advanced Professionist

The sixth squadron added up to more than a hundred soldiers, and within the squadron, there were three Professionals and one Trainee Knight.

Squadron Leader Diarra, a second-ranked warrior, coordinated the whole situation.

Deputy Squadron Leader Meda was a noble officer who had awakened his knight bloodline and was a trainee knight, with combat strength enough to match that of a same ranked professional.

There is also a deputy squadron leader Brown is a first-order professional, in charge of training.

In addition, there are several other officers in the squadron, including the chief of service, the military judge, and the captain of the squadron directly under him.

These men had varying seniority, some with the rank of Ensign and some with the rank of Lieutenant.

Military Judge Owen was also a first rank professional, but his combat strength was very average, his left arm was disabled during the last orc invasion battle, basically it was impossible to advance to the next rank.

If they entered a state of war, the squadron would also incorporate a First Order Priest to accompany them in battle.

Of the eight squads in the sixth squadron, only five squads were fully staffed, and the fifth through seventh squads were all short.

Counting Richard and Hayden, the fourth squadron under Richard’s command was at full strength.

There were a total of twelve soldiers in a squad. Apart from Richard and Hayden, there were only three warrior trainees in the squad, the remaining seven soldiers had just finished their recruit training, had gotten the breathing method for a shorter period of time, and had not improved their physique, which was slightly stronger than ordinary people.

The most important training for the soldiers of the Morning Glory Continent, besides the daily training, was the practice of the breathing method.

Most of the soldiers came from the free people class, and many of them were illiterate, so they basically couldn’t complete the practice of the breathing method, and it was hard to have a future to speak of.

Richard’s grandfather was a hunter, and had also participated in the city defense army. The old man was very shrewd, and the family had saved up some money to support the three William brothers who had attended the church school.

Without this prerequisite, even if they picked up the breathing method, it would be difficult for them to complete the class leap in one generation.

Serving as a basic officer in the military was a busy day, with very little free time.

Luckily, there was Hayden’s help to complete the daily training. William also educated and trained the brothers early so that all three brothers would be capable of filling in as basic officers before they reached adulthood.

It was only with Hayden’s assistance and sacrifice of his own time that Richard had ample time to hone his skills.

After entering the Wild Lion Legion for twenty days, Richard had already completed the advancement of his breathing method and had officially become a First Order Professional.

Richard Harland

Strength: 8.7
Agility: 2.6
Physical Strength: 3.8
Mental Strength: 9.1
Breath of the Wild Lion Legion: 4th Order (6/10,000)

Grant Kingdom Basic Swordsmanship: 3rd Order (521/4000)

Archery: Fourth Order (416/10,000)

Riding: 3rd level (363/4000)

Northern Legion Fighting Arts: Second Order (501/2000)

Richard silently opened the attribute panel, the Berserk Lion Legionary Breathing Technique had successfully advanced to the Fourth Order.

According to the rules of the Morning Glory Continent, he had officially become a professional, realizing a leap in class. There were many benefits of becoming a professional, besides being exempt from corvée, the social status was also improved.

The law of Grant Kingdom stipulated that only by becoming a professional could one obtain the right to inherit a noble title. This is not a world where everyone is equal, the kingdom legally categorizes humans into four classes.

Slaves, free folk, professionals, and hereditary nobility classes are clearly separated.

Becoming a First Order Warrior, Richard’s Strength increased by 2 points, Agility and Physical Strength increased by 0.3 points, and Mental Strength increased the least, only 0.2 points.

After opening the attribute panel, Richard realized that his mental strength was far beyond normal. It was 5.2 points shortly after awakening and quickly increased to 7 points as his body matured.

Later on, practicing breathing techniques increased it by another 0.5 points.

Unfortunately, for six years Richard had not discovered a method to cultivate his spiritual power, and his superb spiritual power only made him energized and had a strong memory, and did not significantly improve his combat power.

In addition during this time, his experience in skills such as swordsmanship, horsemanship, and fighting skills had increased, especially his archery skill, which wasn’t very far from advancement.

After advancing to the rank of professional, Richard immediately went to the brigade department to register for the register.

According to the military rules inherited from the Wild Lion Legion, only by becoming a professional could one serve as a squadron level officer.

Joining the army one year earlier and advancing to professional one year earlier were all seniority within the Wild Lion Army. Officers with deep seniority tended to be more forward in promotion when there was not much difference in career rank, battle merit, and background.

“Now that the brigade has a large shortage of officers, it has recently begun to organize the seventh squadron, and the second squadron’s vice squadron commander has been transferred to the seventh squadron as a squadron commander.

A squad leader of the fifth squadron advanced to a professional and was promoted to the seventh squadron as a vice squadron leader, if you are interested, I can think of a way to transfer you to the second squadron as a vice squadron leader.”

Seeing Richard successfully advanced to a professional, Roland acted very happy.

Richard was an officer in his line, the stronger he was and the higher his official position, the greater Roland’s influence would be, and the more capital he would have to promote to the rank of brigadier general later on.

“Is Ron in the second squadron?”

Ron was nine years older than Richard, and had not yet become a professional, serving as the squad leader of the third squad of the second squadron, and was also a Higher Warrior Cadet.

“Ron has been practicing breathing techniques for ten years, and although his talent is not as good as yours, the apprentice level breathing techniques are almost complete. If you have made merits, you can redeem the Breathing Technique for advancement.”

Although Ron was the eldest of the Harland family, his father William did not invest too many resources for him.

The family’s limited resources were mainly invested in William and his third uncle Bernie, especially during this recent period, Bernie was also facing a breakthrough to advancement.

If Bernie succeeded in advancing to a fourth-order professional, the Harland family’s power was a bit stronger.

Outside of the two of them, the remaining resources were allocated to Richard as much as possible, before Hayden, Barron, and the relatively average talent Ron leaned back a bit.

As soon as Richard entered the Wild Lion Legion, William had already prepared twelve minor merits for him.

Ron entered the Berserkers Legion for four years, experienced an orc invasion battle, and did not set up merits to redeem the breathing method for advancement.

The unfair distribution of resources, Richard estimated that Ron had more or less some complaints inside.

Even if the relationship was not close, both of them were blood brothers.

Richard would like to ease the relationship with Ron, if he is transferred to his own command, in the battlefield can also help some. If you make a merit to help Ron exchange breathing method, the gap between brothers can also be dissolved.
