Chapter 615: The King’s Marriage 6

Chapter 615: The King’s Marriage 6
Early in the morning, a dense sound of horses’ hooves resounded on Binny Street where Alda Mansion was located.

A team on steeds came straight to a halt in front of Alda Mansion.

The guards on duty at the entrance looked at the scene in front of them with astonishment.

They were a bit at a loss for words because the banner that the procession was carrying had the symbols of the royal family of Aldo drawn on it.

The horses in the procession were each very majestic, and the knights riding on them were all dressed in fine armor, gleaming in the morning light.

The knights stopped and surveyed the Alda Commons before them with scrutinizing eyes.

“May I ask, are you men from the palace, and what business do you have here?”

A guard boldly stepped forward to inquire.

“Let Paul Graiman come out! “

A rather authoritative female voice rang out, and although the tone was very hard, everyone who heard it surmised that the owner of the voice was supposed to be a great beauty.

Ta-da! Ta-da! Ta!
After a flurry of hoofbeats, the knights made a path in the middle of the group.

A young girl riding a white horse, dressed in light green hunting clothes and boots slowly walked out from the passage.

The young girl’s face was surrounded by a veil, making it impossible to see her exact appearance, but from the pair of exposed, clear-as-water big eyes, it could be seen that the young girl inside this attire definitely matched the guesses made through the voices just now.

The white horse under the young girl’s crotch spun around in front of the gate of the public house, its nose snorting as if it was also provoking the guards.

This looks like someone not to be messed with, the helpless public hall guard had to say:
“Please wait for a moment, I will immediately go in to inform.”

“Hurry up!”

The young lady bellowed, and the expressions on the faces of the knights under her command froze, and they all cast their eyes towards the public hall guard who was going to go in to inform him.

“Aye! I’ll go at once!”

The somewhat frightened public hall guards hurriedly ran backwards in a huff.

“What man?”

A loud shout came from inside, and the one who ran out was Victor, Paul’s captain of the guards.

“Someone is looking for Lord Gleeman.”

The guard warily reported truthfully.

Victor wrinkled his brow as he saw the royal banner that was carried in the group he was in.

Yesterday, the royal family still came over to look for Lord Greymane’s marriage, but today, why are they so nonchalant, could it be that there seems to be some kind of change.

Victor’s line of sight was fixed on the young girl in the center of the group.

She seemed to have sensed that Victor was paying attention to her, and also cast her eyes towards Victor.

Eh? Victor was shocked in his heart, those eyes …… himself seemed to have seen somewhere.

The young girl slowly pulled down the veil covering her face, revealing her true face that had been hidden.

Victor’s eyes widened, and an incredulous expression occupied his face.

“Ms. Diaz?”

Yes, that look was clearly Betty Diaz, who had left the Northwest Bay.

“It’s been a long time, Victor.”

“Betty” also recognized this captain of the guards, and she was naturally familiar with Victor from her frequent visits to the lord’s mansion in Lake Town.

“But perhaps you should address me differently – Erin Rodney!”

“What?” Victor almost bit his tongue.

Wasn’t Erin Rodney one of the former king’s two daughters?
Seeing him fall into a daze, Erin reminded, “Hurry up and get Paul to come out and see me! I have something important to say to Paul!”

Her tone was filled with imperturbability.

“Lord Graiman!”

A sharp cry came from outside, interrupting Paul’s reading of his book.

He looked up, “What is it, Victor?”

Victor’s tone zonked with panic, a certain emotion that the captain of the guards didn’t see much of in his normal day.

“Someone has paid a visit to our public house and has requested a duel from us …… or rather from you!”

“A duel?”

Paul’s ears perked up, “Did I hear correctly? Someone has initiated a duel with me?” “Yes!” The captain of the guards nodded, conclusively!

“Well!” Paul said helplessly.

He’d known for a long time what kind of a presence Catherine Rodney was in the minds of the young male nobles of the kingdom.

Fervor had also done his part to prepare himself for the kinds of harassment he might be subjected to in the meantime.

“Oh! Victor, why don’t you shoo that asshole away?”

“My lord, I can’t shoo him away!”

“Asshole!” Paul was a bit annoyed, “What’s the point of me bringing you, the captain of the guards, to Crystal Glory?”

Victor had an aggrieved look on his face, “Alas, you’ll know if you go and see for yourself.”

Paul led Victor to the gate quickly.

“Bebebe …… Betty?”

Looking at the delicate face on top of the white horse, Paul was dumbfounded, wasn’t that his former head of education?
“Ahem!” Victor reminded Paul, “Actually, she’s Princess Erin Rodney.”

What? Betty was Princess Erin Rodney?

Before he could express his excitement at seeing his late friend, Paul was in shock.

Only a clanging sound of a sword coming out of its sheath was heard, and a longsword was suddenly thrown out from Princess Erin’s hand.

“Snort!”

That longsword was instantly thrust into the ground between the two.

Paul surveyed the longsword and then looked at Erin, “What do you mean by that?”

“Paul Graiman!”

Irene shouted with some anger, “How dare you try to marry my sister?”

Uh …… it was your brother who sent ……

Paul was just about to explain so when he was interrupted again by Erin’s words.

“Then accept my dueling challenge! Let’s see if you’re qualified to marry her!”

A duel? With you?
“Hahahahaha!” Paul laughed out loud, “Betty …… Oh, it should be Princess Irene, you’re not kidding, are you?”

“I’m not joking!” Erin had a serious face.

Victor, who was on the side, was a bit flustered.

It wasn’t, was it? Could the princess be coming for real?

He had just thought that Ms. “Betty” was playing a joke on an old acquaintance.

Twenty minutes later, two men in armor and wooden swords faced each other in the open, flat courtyard behind the mansion.

“First things first, Erin. I’m not going to show any mercy just because you’re female and a princess!”

“Heh, then you’ll bring out your full strength!”

The two ended up not engaging in a real duel, as far as their respective identities were concerned, even if they agreed to it themselves, their ministries wouldn’t agree to it.

So the sword in their hands was replaced with a wooden sword.

Paul held the sword in both hands and sized up Irene across the table.

Hmph, what an insouciance.

Maybe you’re more lively and active on weekdays, but then again, you’re just a girl.

“Weak girl!”

Paul described Irene with some contempt, but of course he only muttered it in a whisper so that no one could hear.

With a slight buildup of his body, he stomped his feet on the ground and rushed across the room towards Erin.

“Snap!”

There was a crunching sound of collision.

Erin blocked Paul’s attack with the wooden sword in her hand.
