Chapter 605 – The Changes at Gambella 3
Chapter 605 – The Change of Gabora 3
Felix sat in the vehicle with a leisurely expression on his face, his eyes half-squinted, his mouth humming an unknown tune, and his right hand gently tapping on his own knee.
After MacDonald and Siegfried had led the army out of the Imperial Capital, he had first experienced a few days of excitement and nervousness, and then with his own and his grandfather’s powers pooling at a rapid rate, Felix slowly stabilized himself.
His patience seemed to be stronger than before, and he began to organize the forces that would be used to rise up alongside his own grandfather, the Duke of Diaz.
Today he had made another trip to his maternal grandfather, Duke Diaz’s mansion, and was now on his way back to the palace.
The carriage gradually approached the palace, and upon arriving at the gate, the guards guarding the place recognized it as the carriage of the Grand Prince and moved the barricades to let it through.
Felix was bringing a large group of guards, twenty of them, and his guards followed the carriage into the palace in a neat formation.
Felix looked out through the window of the carriage.
“Well, have new people been added to the palace guards?”
He looked at the few new faces outside the car and muttered in his heart.
The carriage traveled all the way into the palace’s walls, first arriving at an open square where, according to palace etiquette, he should have gotten off and continued on foot.
Felix stopped the carriage, several court attendants waiting in the square surrounded, some opened the door for him, some held the horse for him.
He asked in passing, “Where is my father now?”
The attendant nearest him replied, “His Majesty is swimming in the lake in the wooded garden north of the palace.”
Swimming in the lake? Felix felt amused in his heart.
The fight between his two sons was about to officially begin, and Bartlett Griffin, who was his father, even had so much leisure to go boating.
Oh, probably because he didn’t realize what was about to happen.
Thinking about that, another thought popped into Felix’s mind – I wonder where that brother of his is?
Antonio ah Antonio, Felix thought with some pity in his heart, if only you weren’t his own brother.
He is so distinguished, so beautiful, if he is just a common nobleman, then he himself will definitely make him his best friend.
As for whether or not he was the son of a witch, hmmm, who cares.
But alas, the other half of Antonio’s bloodline that flowed through his body made him his life and death enemy.
He was also his father’s heir, the biggest obstacle to his own ascension to the Emperor’s throne.
The world thought that he hated this brother because of the witch’s blood in him, yet the opposite was true.
Felix thought as he walked above the square to the antechamber of the palace, his guards following him closely.
As he approached the steps, he suddenly realized that a figure was standing on them.
Felix looked upwards and recognized the identity of the other person – Antonio.
“My dear brother!” He said to Antonio with a smile, “I thought you had gone off to sneak around with your little group to discuss things again, but I didn’t realize it was right here in the palace.”
“My dear brother, I was actually waiting for you here.”
Antonio, who was standing on top of the steps, also smiled, only in Felix’s opinion, there was something special in his brother’s smile.
“Waiting for me?”
Felix asked suspiciously.
He then smiled, “What? Did you want to talk to me about something? “
The first thought that popped into Felix’s mind was that his own brother was trying to find peace with himself, after all, he must have his own lines and ears in the empire as well, perhaps he sensed something.
But you die, Antonio.
Felix said silently in his heart, I will never tolerate an overwhelming threat to continue to exist in the world.
He heard his brother say, “Yes, I want to talk to you about something.”
Felix grinned and looked at Antonio with contempt in his eyes.
“Need a quiet place? Haha, this is not a good place to talk.”
Antonio shook his head, “No, this is exactly the right place.” “Alright, alright!” Felix shrugged his shoulders, “Who made me such a doting brother to my own brother, I’ll fulfill your request. Antonio, if you have something to say, say it quickly.”
Antonio looked at him, his lips moving gently.
A word drilled into Felix’s ears.
“Please go to hell!”
In the beginning, Felix hadn’t realized the meaning of this; he had clearly and unmistakably heard every word in the sentence.
“Uh …… what did you say?”
“I said – please go to hell!”
This time, Felix finally reacted!
It was as if a huge, invisible palm had suddenly appeared and viciously gripped his heart.
Felix wasn’t stupid, he immediately realized what his brother was standing here for.
“How dare you!”
He roared, while sprinting backward until his own guards rushed up to surround him.
Felix’s guards reacted quickly, drawing their own weapons and shielding the Grand Prince in the center, on guard in every direction.
The steps were suddenly flooded with figures in the front doors of the antechamber, while his own brother remained standing there, motionless, as if he were watching a theatrical performance.
“Hurry! Let’s run out of the palace quickly!”
At Felix’s command, the guards escorted him and ran towards the palace gates, the square was empty and there should be no force hindering them.
However, halfway through the run they realized that the gates of the palace were already tightly closed.
The guards guarding the gates were facing themselves in a clinical stance, there was no need to think, they must be Antonio’s men now.
“Amporov!”
Felix looked hatefully in the direction of the gates, and among the palace gate guards he found someone he wanted to shred to pieces – the head of the guards, Amporov.
Running out of the gate was out of the question, and Felix made a snap decision.
“To my quarters in the palace!”
It was guarded by absolutely loyal guards, and there was a secret passage inside that led to the outside.
So the group of people immediately turned around and moved somewhere else according to Felix’s order.
The men who had appeared from among the doorways of the antechamber approached them.
“What’s that?”
Felix and his guards exclaimed!
A red light appeared from amongst the men and shot straight at them.
They quickly saw the red light for what it really was – it was crimson flames.
“Ah —-!”
One of the guards by Felix’s side was hit by the flames and cried out in terror.
He rolled to the ground, trying to extinguish the flames on his body.
The man next to him tried to save him and was pulled back by Felix.
“Leave him alone, it’s important to run to my quarters!”
Magic! That was definitely evil magic!
Was the legend of Antonio’s birth really true? He really is related to the witch!
The two groups of people thus started a chase battle inside the palace!
