Chapter 410 Warning

Chapter 410 Warning
“Submitting to the greatness of magic? What does that mean?”

Lardy frowned, thinking that Servia was up to something bad.

Sevia smiled slightly, “Taking control of that Count with the last name of Gleeman and turning his territory into our kingdom, a land of delight for spell casters.”

“Shut up, you came here originally to seek refuge, but you even want to usurp someone else’s territory. Afraid that you won’t be able to fulfill the traditional image of wizards as all conspirators in the eyes of the world?”

Lardy stood up, her brows furrowed, clearly enraged.

Sevia, who had been so chastised, was not impressed, but rather surprised by Lardy’s reaction, “Hmph, a mere mortal, and a nobleman who spends his days sucking the fat out of the people, and you’re defending him like that? My sister, have you forgotten what it was like for us to be oppressed in the past?”

Lardy cocked her head, “Lord Gladman is not like the other nobles.”

“Lord Graiman ……?” Servia narrowed her eyes, she had thought that it was merely expedient for the Witch of Green to work under the Lord, but now it seemed not to be what she had thought.

Could it be that ……

“Not the same? Is he of our kind?”

“No.”

“What? You!”

Servia didn’t know what to say. No way, the titular Demoness of Cyan, an existence she used to look up to quite a bit, had been reduced to a mortal lord’s minion?

“You!” She suddenly became angry, betrayal, this was definitely a betrayal of the spell caster community ah.

“Did …… did you sincerely defect to him?”

“Yes!” Without hesitation, Lardy turned her head to meet Servia’s eyes, “He is my lord now.”

Following that, she said in a warning tone, “If you dare to make any small moves, I will never sit idly by.”

The temperature of the courtyard seemed to drop to freezing.

After a wordless stare, the angry color in Servia’s eyes subsided.

“Alright, Green Witch, I give up my previous idea.”

“I want you to swear that you will never do anything to jeopardize Count Graiman in the Northwest Bay.”

Along with these words from Lardy, her eyes became glazed over.

Sevia felt an inexplicable force surging through the air around her, and felt a great sense of foreboding; this was the other family’s backyard, their home turf, and God knows how many spells had been prearranged.

“Alright, Green Witch. I …… I swear!”

But the look Lardy gave her was still unfriendly.

Sevia helplessly raised her right hand and said in a single word, “I swear by my position as a spellcaster, and by my future magical career, that I will never do anything to jeopardize Earl Gladman in the Northwest Bay.”

For people like them, this was quite a heavy oath.

Only then did Lardy put away that stern look she had just given her and sat down again.

Perhaps feeling that the words just now were too heavy, the expression on her face became eased.

“I’m doing this for your own good. Although you may not believe it, I still have to warn you that the power in Lord Gleeman’s hands far exceeds your imagination. To say one thing alone, any guard or soldier under his command can easily end your life face-to-face, even if you cover yourself with a protective spell like Stoneskin beforehand.”

“I take note of your warning.”

Servia responded, sensing sincerity in Lardy’s eyes, but in her heart she still chose not to believe it, believing it to be an exaggeration by the Witch of Green to deter her.

How could it be, she had already proved with personal experience that a spellcaster of her level could, with adequate preparation, bring a bunch of trained church knights to their knees, could the armed forces under a mere count compare to the Church of Horned Cove? End her life in front of her? Are all of his soldiers heavenly beings? Haha, ridiculous.

Lardy looked at Servia, “It looks like you really don’t believe it. Let me tell you, I once saw it with my own …… eyes.”

She suddenly paused and changed her words, “Never mind, I’m done with my words, anyway, you take care of yourself.”

Originally, Lardy wanted to caution Servia with the example of Paul being attacked by the Secret Society wizards, but then it suddenly occurred to her that the Secret Society was not a good match, and she was afraid of attracting trouble to Paul, so she temporarily changed her words.

In the previous conversation, Lardy learned that the other party had been in contact with the Secret Society, although this woman herself said that she had not joined the Secret Society, but God knows if it was the truth, what if she was the scout sent by the Secret Society to look for the slain sorcerer?

Otherwise, with the size of the world, why did she choose to take refuge in the Northwest Bay?

Sevia grunted, “I’ll be a good law-abiding citizen. By the way, since you are sincerely serving that lord, will …… you tell him about the fact that there are other wizards coming to the Northwest Bay?” In return, Lardy was silent.

“I hope you will always keep your status as a spellcaster in mind.”

This time Laadi was no longer silent, “You can rest assured that Lord Greymane and his cronies have no prejudice against spellcasters. The fact that I am still alive and well is proof of that.”

Sevia was astonished, “He …… that lord …… he knows your identity?”

“Did I not mention it to you earlier? Apologies. Yes, Lord Graiman – not just him, but a portion of my peers – knows who I am, but they have not ostracized me.”

And delegated, Sevia added mentally, even as she vaguely felt a twinge of jealousy arise within herself.

But now it seemed that since the powers that be didn’t mind, at least she and her companions didn’t have to live in the Northwest Bay with as much fear as they had in Horn Bay.

“I apologize for my earlier rudeness.”

Sevia stood up and bowed slightly to Lardy.

“There is no need for that.” Lardy took her hand, “I also realize that the events of the last few years in Horned Cove have made you all a bit paranoid in your thinking. But please believe that if you are at peace with yourselves, this will be a paradise for you to start a new life.”

“I’m borrowing your blessing.”

Sevia renewed her smile.

“Then, I’ll take my leave. However, as a fellow villager who moved to the same place, could you tell me your real name?”

Lardy nodded and replied, “Lardy Sertia Girard.”

Servia realized, “So that’s it.”

“So, what about you?”

“Sevia Asitini.”

“You actually gave your real name in front of the church?” Lardy was surprised, as far as she knew that was the name that Servia had used when she had robbed the prison, how bold.

“Hmph, those bugbears, I’m not afraid of them.”

……

After a few short words, Xavia walked out of the backyard of the Sertia house.

Just as she stepped out of the alley, she hammered her fist hard against the wall next to her.

Too careless, too reckless to anticipate the possibility that the other party had actually served the local lords.

She chastised herself fiercely, her heart pounding with fear.

If the other party was not the Witch of Green that she knew, but another sorcerer with an undefined temperament and personality, I am afraid that she would have already flipped out with herself, or first made a false pretense and then united with the lords to set a trap for herself.

However, it is really rare for a sorcerer with outstanding ability like this to genuinely serve the mortal lords.

It looks like after escaping from that wolf’s den in Horned Bay, one’s vigilance has dropped quite a bit.

I still have to be cautious in the future.

Alas, would one’s earlier remarks leave any bad impression on the other party?
……

After sending Servia away, Lardy pondered for a long time in the courtyard.

The thought that the other party might be a spy sent by the Secret Society always haunted her mind.

“No, I still have to report it to the Lord of Lords.”

She was hesitant before, but now she had made up her mind, although there was a hint of guilt in her heart – if the other party was really here to take refuge, then she must not want her life to be disturbed.

But from Paul’s standpoint, letting a sorceress with unknown abilities who could single-handedly take on a large number of church knights roam freely in the territory was just too unsettling.

Lardy herself didn’t even realize that she had spontaneously stood in the perspective of the ruler of Arda.

She quickly ran to the dining room and explained to her mother that she had something important to go out for, then left the house through the back door.
