Chapter 336

Chapter 336.

It was already dark, and in the warehouse area of the West Harbor dock area, Viscount Dylan was still leading a group of affairs officers to supervise the moving of supplies.

Two days ago, he had just entertained another fleet from the Northwest Bay – the arrival of Quake’s fleet was last month, and yesterday’s fleet was led by a captain named Tirbitz.

The fleet from the Northwest Gulf had once again delivered large quantities of supplies, and since the second half of 1991, the Northwest Gulf had been making deliveries to Westport at a rate of almost one a month.

It was December, the city had just experienced a light snowfall, and in a hut, the Viscount and a few of his affairs officers were roasting a fire while watching through the window as the hard laborers outside loaded the supplies from the warehouses onto the wagons.

After entering the winter, the stalemate between the kingdom’s army and the rebel army still continues, the front line is pushing the rear supplies more and more urgently, now both sides are fighting hard for a breath of air, depending on who can’t hold out first.

Viscount Dylan has been busy in the past two days, and it was not easy to put together a fleet of vehicles, and then pulled it to the dock area to load the supplies overnight, ready to leave early tomorrow morning for forward transportation.

The fire in the fireplace burned brightly, warming the inside of the hut, and on the fire was a pot with canned meat from the Northwest Gulf, as the Viscount and a group of officers ate their evening meal, drank a little wine, and discussed the various things that had happened in the city recently. Gradually the conversation was led to the horrible event that had occurred in the harbor the day before yesterday-the assassination of Admiral Pike, so called because it was so beyond the pale.

As the annual Advent Day approached, Admiral Pike hosted a banquet at his home, inviting many of his close friends from the military with the intention of getting drunk, however, in the course of the banquet, an accident occurred.

The exact story of what happened was blocked by the officials, but because there were many people present, a lot of news still leaked out, and the more it was rumored throughout Western Heights, the more evil it became. There were all kinds of rumors, and there was even talk of witchcraft.

One of the clerks sitting next to Dylan said mysteriously, “My wife and brother were serving as guards at General Pike’s mansion and witnessed the whole thing. Do you guys want to know about it?”

“Cut the crap and get on with it.”

The curiosity of the crowd clearly overpowered the order from above to block the news, and even Dylan, the highest ranking person here, acquiesced in letting the other party speak on.

Looking at the curious and eager eyes of his fellow officers, the affairs officer washed out a breath of contentment and whispered about the events of that day, of course no one knew if it had gone through some additions.

That night, just as the wine was half full and the feast was at its peak, two servants entered the hall carrying a roasted whole cow, the main course of the feast, and the general and his guests came over to partake of the meat, plates in hand.

Just after the crowd had gathered around, a wry smile suddenly appeared on the face of one of the servants carrying the ox, and then exclaimed toward General Pike, “My Lord General, Captain Edward has asked me to give you his regards.”

While the crowd was uncertain, the servant suddenly copied a knife used for cutting meat and stabbed it into Pike’s chest in a swift motion.

The surrounding guests were so dumbfounded by this sudden stabbing that they didn’t react at once, but the guards standing at the edge of the hall reacted quickly and drew their own weapons and rushed over.

But before the guards could get close, the servant suddenly raised his hands high and exclaimed, “My lords, Captain Edward has also entrusted me to greet you.”

Then an even more bizarre scene appeared, the servant’s whole body suddenly swelled up, and in a short while it swelled up to suddenly become a large meatball in general.

The crowd seemed to have a premonition that something bad was coming next and attempted to move away from him in horror.

With a loud bang, the already bloated and disfigured “meatball” suddenly exploded.

At this point, the officer who was narrating the story had a horrified look on his face, as if he had been a witness to the event.

He described in an oozing tone: “The explosion was so violent that my brother-in-law, who was still some distance away from the other side, could also feel the tremendous impact, as if an unseen hand had pushed him hard, and his whole body flew upside down.”

“Oo~” accompanied by the officer’s narration, there was a small gallant body trembling, a big mouthful of wine to suppress the shock.

“He was initially blown out of his mind, his eyes were starry, and all he could hear in his two ears was a whimpering mess, and he didn’t know how long he understood before he came to his senses. Climbed up and took a look, the surrounding had become a mess.”

“The only ones left in the hall were the guards who hadn’t rushed over yet as well as the guests who were far away and still standing, my wife and brother had been considered okay, only their arms were dislocated, and the closer the person was to the creepy servant the worse their condition was. But the most frightening thing is-“

“The whole hall was strolling about in bits and pieces with human limbs and disgusting blood and flesh, a living hell of a sight, and many of the living ladies were straight up scared out of their wits, making a scene and screaming in terror.” “Cleaning and investigating afterward, that servant’s body couldn’t be pieced together in any way, and it was estimated that it had turned into meat foam due to self-explosion.”

When the affairs officer finished his narration, the crowd gulped in fear. Dylan even almost spit out the canned meat he had just eaten, the scene the ministry recounted was just too impactful.

“So it’s true that there were rumors of witchcraft haunting the city before?”

“It looks like it’s true, how can we not do that kind of thing with normal means, right?”

“My friend in the Navy said that they’re in a mess, because of this assassination, the entire Navy’s top brass stationed in the Western Heights were almost wiped out. Those who still managed to survive are now confined to their beds.”

While the crowd was talking, someone suddenly pointed out the window and said, “Huh? Is there a fire over there?”

The others also looked out the window, only to see flames in the distance.

“Over there is the direction of the …… harbor!”

Dylan was speechless, how West Heights was having a series of disasters these days.

“My lord, should we go and help put out the fire?” An official asked Dylan for instructions, it was nighttime now and they had ready manpower.

Dylan shook his head, “No, there are people specializing in fire prevention over at the port, it’s better if we don’t go and add to the chaos and do our own thing. Let’s go out and see how much has been loaded already, and supervise the laborers so they don’t wander off.”

After the people walked out of the house, there was a cacophony of noises coming from the direction of the fire.

At first they thought it was the people who were putting out the fire shouting, but gradually they were able to distinguish that it was clearly the sound of shouting.

Everyone began to panic.

“All, keep calm! Clerks, go and organize the laborers, no running around, no shouting.”

Dylan shouted orders to the captain of the city guards in charge of guarding the warehouse, “Captain Mark, have the guards under your command put on alert, and execute anyone who moves about on the spot.”

Despite being unable to figure out what had happened, it was definitely something bad, and as the highest official of the warehouse district, he had to take the responsibility.

The laborers finally quieted down under the strong bouncing of the guards. Dylan immediately sent out men to find out what had happened at the docks.

Half an hour later, in the midst of everyone’s anxious waiting, the prying men returned.

Only to see him running back covered in blood and panting.

“Lord Dylan! Lord Mark! Something big is wrong.”

“What on earth has happened?” Captain Mark took him by the hand and pulled out his flask and gave him a few gulps of wine.

“It’s pirates! Pirates are hitting!”

The crowd was alarmed.
