Chapter 450 – Yunus’ Letter of Commitment

Chapter 450 Yunus’ Letter of Commitment

Although Sherlock had taken an oath himself, promising that I would never marry for life. But that didn’t mean he didn’t understand feelings.

He looked at Ivars and then glanced at Isabelle who was blushing a little, and his heart understood.

-Our own feelings at first were indeed correct. Isabel really couldn’t resist Aiwas’s temptation ……

Fortunately, Ivars is a good person. It’s also a good match.

How about, nowadays, looking back – horse hindsight says that there is no better male youth of the right age in the whole of Avalon than Ivars.

So Sherlock was silent for a while and spoke quietly, “Should I say congratulations?”

The implication was, when are you getting engaged?
“It’s better to wait until I return.”

Ivars said with a smirk.

Sherlock narrowed his eyes, half sarcastically, half as a reminder, “Then be safe on your way – from the conventions of fiction and theater, when someone says something like that they’re probably about to be in danger.”

“You’re early for that, Sherlock.”

Ivas reached up and rubbed his head, replying briskly, “You’ll have to come with me, too.”

“Huh-?”

Sherlock was incredulous, “Why? I still have so many cases piled up to solve!”

“Leave those cases to Hajna, it’s about time she got some exercise.”

Ivas said nonchalantly, “You’re letting me and Lily both go? Who else can I take besides you?”

“Can’t …… Edward?”

“He does go with me, but it’s on a boat out to Iris.”

“What a nuisance ……”

Sherlock grumbled in a small voice, but quickly perked up again, “That’s fine. I’ve never been to the Church Kingdom, so it just so happens to be a long trip. And it also happens to have a case ……”

He said, rummaging through a letter from the satchel at his waist, “Read this first, Ivars.”

“What’s this?”

Aywas asked casually, picking the document up.

At the same time he slipped the paper he was carrying in his arms to young Sherlock, “Just in time, don’t delay, you’re going to have a look at this as well – I was going to give it to you when I went to your house yesterday.”

“A letter from a client from the Church Kingdom …… What have you got here?”

Sherlock’s brow furrowed.

Looking at the document labeled “Top Secret”, he was a little afraid to open it, “Is this something I can read?”

“I’m giving you authorization to read it. It’s about my sister, I’ve already read it once. You may have memories of her, so read it over and analyze it for me.”

Ivas replied casually, opening the letter, “But you may have heard of …… after all, it was your brother who investigated it for me.”

“That’s not true, Mycroft is very tight lipped. He’s not the type to discuss his work with his family.”

Sherlock argued for his older brother, and opened the file to look at it carefully.

Isabel sighed helplessly as she watched the two of them just start reading where they stood. Pulling them to sit in the gazebo first, she then greeted the maid to bring black tea and snacks.

And as Ivars looked at the letter, the more he looked at it, the more he felt that the tone and the story in the letter looked a bit familiar.

He read half of it, then directly flipped to the very end and glanced at the sender’s name.

–Fruity.

It was a letter from a bard called Yunus, who had sent it from the Church.

Yunus was well known and highly regarded in Avalon.

He was an excellent luthier, as well as a fairly good bard.

He travels around the country carrying his special guitar on his back, and earns his living by performing. The food he eats on a daily basis is very common, that of a commoner’s diet, or even bordering on beggar’s food.

His clothes were also tattered. At best, he could only be called clean, and some times he would get lost. Dusty like a vagabond.

All of his earnings are given to the local poor before he leaves a city. Never leaving any money on himself, he travels the world with only food, a sleeping bag, a short sword, a short bow and his guitar.

As a bard of the third power level, he is considered to be a pretty good fighter in the current version. So he’ll go off on his own to see justice on his own – some times winning fights – and will make a tune of his adventures to boast about his exploits.

But there were also times when he would roll over, but luckily he was more able to run, and thus managed to get away every time. It’s also a good thing that he always goes on adventures alone, and is better at running away.

And if he encounters an enemy he can’t beat, he makes up a bright and easy to sing tune for the opposite side. Stuffing information about the other side’s villainy, abilities, location, size of numbers, and so on into the lyrics and singing them around.

Then the opposite party died while singing.

–Because either a strong person had heard his song and idly looked directly towards the location mentioned in the lyrics; or the impact was so bad and the public opinion was so raging that it alarmed the Inspector’s Office, and was subsequently resolved by the official investigation of Avalon.

But even the Inspectorate certainly did not know the true identity of this Yunus.

He was Prince Albert, Isabel’s real father. After his own wife and siblings all died due to the curse, he left Isabel behind and fled the Temple of Silver and Tin.

He was a master of illusion and changed his appearance. The identity he now uses, Yunus, is a poet friend of Prince Albert’s, and the two of them were the ones who teamed up with him when he escaped from the Glass Island and traveled around the world to perform acts of bravery.

Then they got into trouble with a powerful enemy in the wilderness, and Yunus died while trying to save Albert. And Albert, who was discouraged at the time, simply used illusion to transform his appearance into the other. Imitate each other’s voice, tone and habits …… as if the one who died at that time was Prince Albert, and the one who lived was Yunus.

Although the enemy has long been killed by Yunus, but he still did not change back to his real identity.

“Yunus did not even go back to the Glass Island to attend the funeral of his mother, Queen Sophia – he concentrated on playing Yunus, as if Albert was really dead.

After the Queen’s death and Isabel’s succession to the throne, he suddenly stopped his activities in Avalon and traveled to the Church.

An elf maiden he once saved in Avalon.

Because she thanked him for saving her life, she left a token inviting him to her home.

As a result, when he really traveled to the Teaching Country, he learned that the maiden had already died long ago – even long before she traveled to Avalon.

This was the most famous side quest in version 2.0, and Aiwas had run it at the time.

“Yunus” appeared in the main storyline, and was quite popular because he spoke pleasantly and stood firmly on the side of the protagonist. His reputation store is also the only way for the bard profession to obtain the “Guitar” sounding instrument. He even gives Isabelle an elf harp as her pre-professional weapon.

The side quest reveals his past, the origin of the harp, and ultimately that he is Isabel’s father.

Most importantly, after completing this quest, you can get a replica of Isabelle’s harp, which you can use to transform, as well as a companion pet named “Tiny Yunus”.

This pet plays the guitar when it’s idle and can also cut songs on command. It’s full of sincerity, to say the least.

It can also be used to take a screenshot of an emoticon when you take a picture with Isabelle.

Aha, I have your father.jpg
Now the events of Brutal Fall are not likely to happen, and Avalon has not been destroyed.

Yunus, who originally traveled to the Church Kingdom when Avalon was destroyed, also went to the Church Kingdom a year early.

But even so, he still received the same reply.

–The girl called “Anastasia” was already dead. And she had never been to Avalon while she was alive.

But both the girl’s personal information and the token she had given to Yunus were genuine. This seems to prove that she did come to Avalon and did contact Yunus.

Yunus felt that his mind was a bit confused, and even somewhat doubted whether his experience was real.

But unlike the game line, this time he did not recklessly try to solve this matter by himself, but kept calm and did not act rashly……. After collecting all the information he could, he wrote a letter to “Avalon’s smartest detective Sherlock” to deliver a commission. The letter was accompanied by a token.

It was a moonlight-white hairband with a light blue elven inscription on it.

If you translate the elven language on it, you will get its content: “Anastasia, I wish you well.”

“Fox, what do you think?” Sherlock’s afterglow saw Ivars reading the letter and looked up at him solemnly.

“…… Hmm?”

Aiwas looked at Sherlock extraordinarily serious, momentarily a little puzzled, “It’s quite interesting …… but why are you interested in this?”

“Have you ever felt that this situation is similar to …… the ‘Swamp People’?”

Sherlock asked seriously.

Ivars sniffed and looked at him with some surprise.

He had wanted to say no, because he didn’t remember this in the plot – or rather, there was no such word as “swamp people” in the game.

It was a word that Ivars had made up himself based on the “Swamp People Paradox” when he used it to describe the strange rituals at Eagle Point, and only a few people besides Ivars knew about it, Sherlock. At least Jacob doesn’t care that his ritual is called that.

But now that Ivars is thinking about it ……

–It’s not impossible, is it?

Because in the game’s plot, the player doesn’t end up finding out what the hell is going on – there’s no Sherlock involved, just Aiwass & Isabel, and they certainly don’t know about the Swamp People, and as asylum seekers they have no place to look up the information.

So it ended up as a “ghost of a teenage girl’s thoughts”. Later on, the story of Yunus and Isabel’s recognition of each other became a story of “coincidence” that allowed Yunus and Isabel to come into contact with each other.

But maybe there is a secret behind this story?
Ivars immediately became a little interested.

Moreover, when this incident was over, he could also get that excellent elf harp.

It was both quite a good Transcendent weapon, and at the same time a top quality musical instrument in its own right.

It can be given to Isabelle as a birthday present–

–This commission came just in time. Ivars thought to himself.

And in any case, Ivars felt the need to meet Yunus.

After all, he is Isabel’s father …… own future father-in-law.

“No matter what, you all have to be careful.”

Isabel, who was drawing for Aywas, looked at the two of them with interest and fighting spirit in their eyes, and instantly looked up with some concern, “Give up if it’s too dangerous.”

Aiwas’s adoptive father could be the one who disappeared in the Teaching Country.

Although that was the territory of the Eternal Pope, it didn’t seem that safe ……

Aiwas, however, suddenly spoke, “Say, Lulu ……”

Hearing Ivars call Isabel so affectionately, Sherlock’s eyebrows couldn’t help but jump a little, revealing a “subway old man cell phone” expression.

But when he heard Ivars’ next sentence, Sherlock gave a puzzled “huh?” Let out a sound:
“Do I need to give you a message if I see Prince Albert in the Church Kingdom?”

“…… Is Prince Albert also in the Church Country?”

Sherlock was a bit surprised and subconsciously analyzed, “That makes sense. I haven’t heard from him for a long time, so it would be right to say that he is in the Church Country ……”

–But why would Ivars ask at this time?
Another possibility immediately appeared in Sherlock’s mind.

Could it be that Yunus is actually ……

Isabel, on the other hand, was silent when she heard this. The expression on her face also became somewhat complicated.

“…… May 22nd.”

She suddenly spoke, “That’s my birthday, and it’s also the day I set for my coronation. And possibly ……”

At that, she glanced at Ivars and said softly, “It will be our engagement day.

“He didn’t come back the day my grandmother died, and he didn’t come back on the day of the state funeral. I want him to come back that day – in my father’s name. Otherwise ……”

She swallowed back the rest of that half-sentence and did not finish.

Isabel was of a gentle disposition, and did not like to say anything too hurtful; but she was equally firm and obstinate, and it was difficult to change what had been decided.

“…… It doesn’t matter if you have seen him in the teaching country or not. I actually already had this matter in my mind a long time ago.”

She spoke softly.

What should clearly be harsh words sounded sad, “If you don’t want to come back …… then don’t come back.”
