322. Chapter 316 – Flesh Offering and Blood Healing

Chapter 316 – Flesh Devotion and Blood Healing

“Ms. Bayard.”

Just then, a young brunette who looked equally young approached.

He held up his ceramic mug in a friendly gesture, filled with blood.

Behind him followed a pretty girl with long blonde hair – Ivars had just seen her in the common room, she was number 15. The bottom of her azure pupils were similarly mesmerized and attached, and thus seemed hollow.

“Sir Lind.”

Bayard’s amusement was interrupted and thus looked less than pleased.

She raised one finger and pushed up her glasses, responding coldly, “What are your instructions?”

“Where are your words, Ms. Bayard. How dare I instruct you.”

The handsome dark-haired youth smiled and personally poured a glass of pre-dinner wine for Bayard. Then as Bayard cupped the porcelain cup with one hand, it made a crisp sound as he gently clinked it with it.

“No business in the manor.” Bayard warned.

“Of course.”

Sir Linde smiled and nodded, patting the girl beside himself, “Is it okay if I trade this girl for one night on the 14th ……? I haven’t drank her blood tonight, and she’s been stored up for a week with plenty of blood. It’s not like this kid …… She’s only been here a short while, and you’ve ordered her three times in a row, so I’m sure the blood is about to run out.

“As you can see, I just wanted a shallow taste – what delicious blood it would have to be to make you so attached to it. I was intrigued, and more than anything, I wanted to be able to share the same touch, our common language, with you.”

Linde let out a voice as polite and mellifluous as an aristocrat’s.

Hearing Linde’s words, the girl next to him looked at Sir Linde with a heartbreaking gaze, and there was a sense of abandoned resignation and pain in those hollow eyes. But again, she did not make any act of resistance.

“Don’t.”

And Bayard refused without hesitation, “She is mine until death.”

“If you keep sucking on it,” Linde looked to Aywas with a look of pity, “she might actually die.”

Bayard, however, just laughed mockingly and repeated his words, “Until death.”

A wave of sweetness and ecstasy welled up in Iavas’ heart – while deeper down he watched it all with cold eyes. It made him feel a strange sense of separation, a not-so-rational emotion swelling and flowing uncontrollably like an overflowing wine. Instead, his deeper self simply squeezed the glass and allowed the liquor to flow through his arm and seep back into him.

Linde touched down and her tone became relatively less friendly, “You love her too much, Ms. Bayard. It’s not good for her.”

“It is for the best.”

Bayard replied.

Sir Lind sighed and leaned down to bite the neck of the girl beside him. Her pupils instantly overflowed with the black smoke of Love’s Way Way, and her body shuddered and whimpered violently and emotionally.

Her face turned pale at a rate visible to the naked eye, while rapturous joy on the verge of losing control flowed from Lind’s eyes.

His handsome pale face with a hint of wickedness sketched out an intoxicating smile, even revealing two dimples. The girl in his arms, on the other hand, gradually quieted down – or became nearly fainting.

As he let go of the girl’s body, the two black-clothed men in animal masks around him immediately came over and assisted – or rather, framed – her. The satisfied Linde looked at the “aperitif” he was holding in his hand again, but his eyes were already full of dislike.

He casually handed the glass to the waiter beside him, “Give it to Cody.”

“Yes.”

The man in black replied.

A puzzled thought flashed through Ivas’ mind – who was Cody?
And soon she was given a solution.

A dark and athletic hound burst from the shadows. Its pupils were scarlet, while a slow ring of smoke like black tentacles was released from its body.

It seemed to understand human language, wagging its tail and rubbing against Sir Linde. It also glanced at the girl in his arms and curtly circled around him.

“You can’t have this, Cody. It’s mine.”

Sir Lind smiled, his face scarlet with freshly sucked blood, looking as alive as if he were still alive, “That’s yours.”

The hound named Cody understood his words and came over to the waiter. And the waiter fed him the cup of blood.

Its lips filled with blood, and then obediently returned to the edge of the field once more.

— What is this?
Aiwas was puzzled.

He hadn’t seen this kind of monster before – not even in the game.

However, the Shadow Demon suddenly spoke up and replied softly in Miss Assassin’s honey-like voice, “This is a blood-sniffing beast, a synthetic beast that was once popular during the Empire. Used to track down targets aimed by the Children of the Moon …… They can find quality blood species in a crowd; if they’ve drunk someone’s blood, they can smell it and find the owner of the blood. Then the technology became obsolete – mostly because the materials were too expensive yet useless – and the Moon Sons switched to using rituals to find people.”

“What energy level?” Ivas asked mentally.

“Third.”

The Shadow Demon knew what Aywas was wondering and explained, “That wasn’t Shadow Sneak, it was just a normal ‘blur’.”

“Blur” referred to the technique of becoming invisible in low or no light when the outline of one’s body became blurred under bright light. Compared to true invisibility, blurring in motion distorts the air around you, making it easy to be recognized once you move.

“Even dogs are third energy level ah ……”

Ivars muttered.

His heart sank slightly.

That being the case, it didn’t seem strange that there were fourth or even fifth energy level among the guests coming and going.

And while he was calmly thinking in his mind, the other side didn’t delay him from distracting himself from playing his role –

“Ms. Bayard ……”

The girl let out a soft and uneasy voice: “Why do you refuse him, Sir Linde seems to be a bit angry ……”

She had fallen under Bayard’s mesmerizing spell. Thinking for her and about her was normal thinking logic – Aiwas didn’t deliberately twist his mind or forcefully resist. Rather, she pushed against the impulses in her mind and adapted and slightly added to them as she understood them.

In short, it was adding a little tea into the mix.

If you roughly listen to this tea flavor already can not be suppressed. But at this moment, Ivars had already been affected by the Charmed Kiss, and what she said at this moment was the truth, and of course, Ms. Bayard also knew about this matter. So what she said now would only make the other party think that she was genuinely concerned about her – then it wouldn’t be tea, it would only be considered to be endearing.

Bayard, of course, hadn’t thought that another person had silently changed inside the shell of the 14th that she had been ordering for three days straight.

All she could think was that the boy was becoming more and more likable.

So she just said gently, “It’s been said, call me Sister Bayard.”

She said, kissing Ivars earlobe, then licking it to the back of the ear and neck.

She whispered, “Linde isn’t trying to protect you, cutie …… he just wants to use you as a topic of conversation to flatter me.

“Because his mining company is in trouble – a group of Rage Mining Spirits have appeared inside his mine. He needs my financing, and he needs my people to help him get rid of those troublesome mining spirits.”

Bayard laughed softly, “But I don’t need his crappy company. That’s why he’ll have to drive the price higher and higher.”

“…… Can’t he go to someone else?”

Ivars asked suddenly.

She was keenly aware of Bayard’s attitude – she didn’t have to say these things to a blood slave. Unless she wanted some proper feedback.

So Ivars complied with the drive of the “mesmerized” state, and began to use the psychological excuse of “making her happier”.

When Bayard saw that Ivas responded to her, instead of being puzzled, she became happy: “I thought you weren’t interested in these things, my dear.

“Yes, of course he can go to someone else. But no one will take it.”

Bayard smiled, speaking calmly, “That would mean making an enemy of me. And we preach a mutual love.”

She said, a mocking smile floating at the corners of her mouth. When she said those words, she didn’t avoid people at all – not only those black-robed people, but even the Tong Clan could hear her. But no one commented on her words, and there were even those who raised their glasses to her in distant salute. Bayard buried his head into the side of Ivas’ neck, breathing in the scent of her blood and breath while letting out an inaudible snort.

And listening to her words, Ivas’ heart tightened slightly.

Beiard’s words and attitude …… meant that Beiard’s identity and status might be a little higher than he thought.

–So what strength is she a Child of the Moon?
Fourth energy level, or fifth energy level? He didn’t have Lily as a turret to unleash the full power of the Shadow Demon right now, and he couldn’t fully utilize the power of the Shadow Demon with only the second level of Shadow Affinity ……

“Then …… can you take me away?”

She voluntarily inverted herself and sat backwards on top of Bayard, looking her straight in the eyes.

The tender body that had been sucked too much blood and appeared extremely weak opened its clear eyes and let out a pitiful voice: “I’ll die sooner or later if I stay …… here.”

“Then please me, dear.”

Bayard smiled gently, but there was a lofty detachment in his smile.

She looked at Ivas as an equal, just as she looked down on her own kind.

“If I’m happy, I’ll think about it.”

She said so. And looked scrutinizingly at 14.

And Ivas raised his neck, hugged her and closed his eyes.

And she whispered, “I give you my blood …… voluntarily.”

Watching the girl’s clumsy response, Bayard couldn’t help but smile and shake his head.

What else was she thinking. It’s just a little girl ……

Bayard leaned down and kissed the girl’s neck.

Sharp teeth pierced flesh and blood was sucked down the hollow fangs.

And the next moment, Bayard’s eyes snapped open.

The fresh, sweet, and smooth blood gushed into her mouth, giving her an unprecedented sense of excitement – with a faint flavor of wine, but not stinging the mouth; a mellow, sweet taste like a good crème brûlée, but not sweet; and a fruity, refreshing aroma mixed with pineapple and sorbet.

And, there was also a vague sense of sanctity that she couldn’t identify ……

Bayard’s pupils were filled with scarlet in the blink of an eye. She suddenly lost control of herself and violently pressed Ivars down onto the table with one hand, focusing on sucking her blood.

Aiwas, who was embracing her, did not close her eyes.

She stared at the ceiling in a daze, but those empty pupils gradually became clear.

The blood that is voluntarily offered, and the blood that is sucked …… is no different for ordinary people, but it is different for her.

–Yes, this is the pastoral method.

But it is not a successful pastoral method, because at this moment the path of Ivars is not yet balanced.

However, it doesn’t matter even if it’s a failed pastoral method.

[Flesh and Blood Devotion (Purple): You are proficient in the art of self-sacrifice. And now you will be even more proficient.]

This was the Taoist trait that Aiwas had gained in her last promotion – the ability to make her flesh and blood sweeter.

Even the Shadow Demons whose tastes had been gripped by the true Shepherd’s Raising method wanted to taste it. For vampires who hadn’t tasted the blood of a shepherd, it had been called a supreme delicacy.

This was the first time that Ivars had used it since he had gotten this Dawnguard trait ……

The only risk was probably whether he would be directly sucked to death by the out-of-control Bayard.

But even this risk Aiwas had taken into consideration.

He had already made a deal with the Shadow Demon – after he had lifted the lock of enchantment and lifted the ban of not harming his master, if she still didn’t stop sucking blood she would simply strike.

That was the worst case scenario, but there was no way around it.

And Shadow Demon answered without hesitation.

And so, at the same time she felt the lock of mesmerization on her body being broken, she lifted the Makutou method.

The method of lifting it was also simple.

When Ivars no longer volunteered, it could not be called “dedication,” and thus the power of the Path’s characteristics faded away at the same time.

When the divine magic in his blood subsided, Bayard was only stunned for a moment before he regained his senses and realized what he had done.

She first froze in disbelief for a moment. Then she looked at No. 14, whose face was weak and pale and seemed to have fallen into a state of near death, as if she was going to fall asleep in the next moment, and her face suddenly changed.

She seemed to have thought of a lot in that instant. But after hesitating for a split second, she still directly bit through her own finger and put it into Ivars mouth. As the girl instinctively sucked like a baby, her face gradually recovered at a speed visible to the naked eye.

–This is blood healing.

The mysterious technique called “blood healing” was the extraordinary ability of the Way of Love – the power of the blood of the Elder Powers to directly heal the weak, regardless of the cause of the illness. It is also the racial ability of the Children of the Moon.

For No. 14, who was only at the first power level, only a drop or two of Bayard’s blood was enough to restore her body to health.

At a speed visible to the naked eye, Ivars’ skin, which was all a bit dry and cracked and white and green before, also became smooth and white again. Even her hair, which had somewhat lost its luster, had regained its luster. This made her appearance look even more exquisite.

Seeing that Aiwas had slightly regained some of her vitality, she directly picked her up.

“Open a rest room.”

She spoke to the black-clad men in animal masks around her.

“Room 1.”

The black-clothed men immediately took a key from the wall next to them and handed it to Bayard.

And Aiwas closed his eyes, shrinking in Bayard’s arms and pretending to sleep, while inquiring the Shadow Demon in his mind, “You’re not worried about anything happening to me at all, are you?”

“Nothing can happen, my lord.”

The Shadow Demon simply replied, “Bayard is not such a person. Despite being the Moonchild of the Way of Love path, she has an unusually sturdy sense of reason and humanity, and it only takes one break …… for her to release all control.”

“You know her?”

Aiwas was suddenly mildly interested.

The Shadow Demon had been reluctant to tell him his real name before.

Now, it had finally slightly revealed some of its true information.

“…… Yes.”

The Shadow Demon was silent for a while before replying, “I used to live in this era.

“I also died in this era.”
