Chapter 90 – Seaweed Dumplings

Chapter 90 – Seaweed Doughnut
The last time Sol saw Rokai, the other party invited him to join the Mutual Aid Society in public.

If it wasn’t for Mentor Kazi’s sudden appearance and calling away Saul, he would have had to find a way to politely reject Rokey.

Now that he bumped into it head on, he didn’t know if the other party would do it again ……

“Last time I asked you if you wanted to join the Mutual Aid Association, I don’t know how well you’ve considered it?” Luo Kai smiled and took a step forward, blocking the exit of the library.

Surprisingly, he opened the door and asked directly.

Saul subconsciously tensed up, but he quickly thought that he wasn’t a pure newcomer anymore.

“I’m sorry Senior Rokai, I’m just too busy with my work to participate in any activities, please forgive me!”

The tone was respectful, but left no room for negotiation.

Luo Kai, however, once again took a step forward, and the distance between the two shortened to less than a meter.

“Is it really that busy? Or are you worried about that?”

He held out his hand and flexed his index finger twice.

Like a little bug.

The other party had actually confessed the existence of the parasite to him voluntarily!
Saul secretly frowned, I’m afraid it’s not going to be easy to deal with today.

However, to Saul’s surprise, Luo Kai was not aggressive and continued to invite.

“Hee hee hee hee. But you don’t have to be this nervous. That little thing is just a means of safeguard to ensure that the Mutual Aid Society’s internal information is not leaked. For an excellent apprentice like Sol you, we naturally believe in your character and won’t use that kind of means.”

“Thank you, Senior, but I really don’t have the time these days.” Seeing Rokai loosening up, Saul side-stepped and tried to drill his way out through the gap between Rokai and the door of the room.

“Fine. But even if you don’t want to join the Mutual Aid Society, you can still join our exchange if you’re free. You work on the east second floor, right? If you’re really unsure, you can also ask Hayden, the Mutual Aid Society has always worked well with him.”

An exchange meeting? Is Hayden going to be there too?

Saul casually responded, “If there’s a chance.”

“That would be great, you can always find Dozer and have him take you.”

Rokai finished, sidestepping to make way for Saul.

Sol glanced at the two and nodded, quickening his pace to leave the library.

Rokai stood still, watching Saul go away with a smile on his face.

After a while, he suddenly said to Dozer behind him, “You’ve become a lot quieter since all your good friends died out.”

Dozer shuddered and gritted his teeth without saying anything.

Without turning around, Rokai raised his hand and accurately tapped twice on the top of Dozer’s skull behind him.

“It’s a good thing, if a person wants to grow up, they always have to abandon something.”

……

For the next few days, Saul gave all of his spare time to the books A Madman Teaches You How to Raise a Soul Servant and Conjectures on Soul Carriers.

Both books mentioned ways to preserve spirit bodies, and both discussed spirit esters. Only the latter is more of a generalization and the former is a bit more specific.

Spirit ester is also a general term for a large category that can be subdivided into many different kinds.

The time to preserve the soul ranged from a few days to a few decades. It could also be used in conjunction with other means to prolong the soul’s preservation period again.

In addition to the basic function of preserving souls, many spirit esters had some additional abilities. Like the plastic bone in Saul’s left hand, it had the effect of enhancing the perception of dark elemental particles as well as increasing the value of magic power.

Good spirit esters were also quite precious materials in the wizard world.

It was just a pity that according to the categorization told in the book, the plastic bone in Saul’s left hand should be one of the worst quality spirit esters.

The soul could only be preserved in it for a day or two.

Beyond that time, it would basically dissipate.

There were very few natural spirit esters in the world, mostly synthetic, which also meant that the synthetic solutions could be constantly improved.

However, if Saul could improve his plastic bone, not only would he be able to improve the soul’s preservation time, but he could also enhance his own magic power and dark element perception once again.

It was always easier to optimize a sorcerous body transformation scheme than to try one out of thin air again.

Saul immediately felt that he had found the right direction. His pitiful magic power value finally had the possibility of taking another leap.

It was just that this research was the equivalent of reading a superlative book. Some of the vocabulary words that occasionally popped up in it didn’t even have notes. In order to study these vocabulary words, Saul all had to borrow another book to study or ask his mentor for advice.

This in-depth study allowed him to gain a lot and deepen his understanding of the book “Soul Carrier” that the tower master had given him.

“The tower master should be a sorcerer who majors in the dark attribute. All I was allowed to study was the knowledge of souls, ah, corpses and such. The wizard tower also specially occupies two floors of space in the east tower to make a corpse room, it’s quite a big deal. I don’t know what the tower master is researching now, it should be some higher wizard subject, right?”

Two months later, Saul finally made a small progress in Spirit Ester Optimization.

He discovered that when creating the dissolving solution for dissolving plastic bones, the materials in one of the steps could be replaced to reduce the impurities in the plastic bones that were not conducive to spirit preservation. Just what to replace it with, he still had to experiment.

The diary was a little less helpful at this point.

It can remind Saul what materials he can’t put in, but it can’t clue Saul in on what materials have a positive effect.

Saul had to rely entirely on his own knowledge and experience.

Now, he had finally experienced the research process of a normal sorcerer.

Step by step, he proposed conjectures and verified them.

Those that failed to be verified or could not be verified could only be given up first.

This day he went to the registration room to change a batch of materials and continue to verify.

“This is a power storage cloud …… Why did I change this thing? What’s wrong with your brain?” Saul slapped himself on the forehead.

“It’s hard to add electricity to plastic bones when you know they’re afraid of electricity.”

Muttering to himself, Saul suddenly had a new idea.

“Actually, plastic bones are afraid of electricity, so I should take advance precautions against this weakness. Otherwise, if I were to engage in a battle with someone, this could become my death point! Write it down, write it down!”

Saul hurriedly recorded his newfound inspiration in another book.

While researching, he often came up with some novel ideas, but many of them could only be recorded for later because he didn’t have the time to think about them in depth.

After writing down his inspirations, Saul straightened up again and continued to examine the remaining materials.

“So, which one to pick again and try?” Saul cupped his chin and fell into a tangle.

At that moment, a black tentacle, the thickness of a thumb, rolled up a test tube of potion and held it up in front of Sol’s eyes.

“This one? This one is on the alkaline side, will it affect the corrosive effect of the dissolving solution ……”

“Holy shit!”

Saul suddenly realized something was wrong and directly jumped up from his chair.

And that black tentacle didn’t move away from him because of that, instead, as if it was being tugged by something, it moved closer to Saul’s face.

Black slender tentacle, slippery epidermis, familiar way of rolling things ……

“You, you’re the Soul Devouring Demon Swamp?”

Seeing that the roots of the black tentacles were in the blind spot behind him, Saul hurriedly turned to look back.

But the tentacle followed Sol in a synchronized rotation.

When Saul moved, the black tentacle moved with the same amplitude.

Saul’s expression stiffened as he raised his hand and wiped it down the black tentacle behind him.

Finally, he touched the root of the …… tentacle at the back of his neck.

Tentacles that grew out of his neck!
Saul immediately ran towards the gate of the corpse room, thinking about whether to go directly to Instructor Kaz or to figure out a quick right turn to go to the second level senior next door.

The black tentacle, on the other hand, was still coiled around the test tube, and steadily moved along with Saul.

Before his fingers touched the scarlet door of the necropolis room, Saul, who had just been in a panic, suddenly stopped again.

He looked over his left shoulder.

“Brother Diary, aren’t you working?”

Diary is quiet and watches the show.

Thor thoughtfully raised his hand and held it at the connection between the tentacle and his neck.

Diary remains quiet.

Saul was just starting to push.
“Chirp!”

The black tentacle was surprisingly plucked off by him!
He touched his neck with his other hand, and didn’t feel any wounds, nor did a second tentacle grow.

“So …… it’s probably not parasitic, it was just brought out a small section by me. But how did it stay active after it was detached from its body?”

The black tentacle couldn’t speak, and even after it had been pulled down by Saul, it was still curled around the reagent and sent towards Saul’s face.

Saul calmed down a little and took the reagent in a test tube from the black tentacle as soon as he could.

“Well, before I study what a thing you really are, I’d like to see what the potion recommended by this seaweed blob of yours is good for!”
