Chapter 797 – The Former Master

Chapter 797 The Former Master

The encounter with Kismet was very brief.

After Ophelia’s spiritual power drifted over along the seawater, Kismet let Saul leave first, and met the Sky City Lord’s wrath for him himself.

Though somewhat apologetic, Thor readily agreed to leave the trouble in Kismet’s hands.

He then proceeded to take off for his stated destination.

And long after he took off, there was no big battle between the two fourth-ranked wizards behind him.

Saul turned around several times, but he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary.

“No fight?” He was a bit puzzled.

Kismet had once disguised the Second Order and pretended to recognize Ophelia as her master, more or less with an element of teasing.

The conflict between these two must not be small.

I didn’t expect that they hadn’t even fought until now.

“It seems that Kismet was the one who could talk his way out of it and persuade Ophelia back.”

It would certainly be best if there was no direct conflict.

Ophelia was, after all, a fourth-ranked sorcerer and the Sky City Lord. Although her power was relatively small among fourth-ranked sorcerers, it was not to be underestimated.

It was also good to avoid escalating the conflict.

After waiting for ten minutes and no pursuers appearing behind him, Saul finally let out a sigh of relief.

“Looks like we’ve escaped with our lives.”

Several other Consciousness Bodies were congratulating Sol.

Only Pei’er’s remnant spirit wasn’t too pleased.

[Look at you being complacent. You’re just lucky to have met Kismet, or else according to your previous plan, I’m afraid you’ve already been caught up by that old hag. Thank you for your luck, or else you would have been eaten up by the old hag and then literally eaten up again!”]

Sol, however, shook his head.

“It’s the power that can’t be controlled, the ethereal and impermanent power that is called luck. I’m not calling it luck this time.”

[What was that?

“Call it the echo of the Symphony of Fate, call it the feedback of the forces of destiny, and, of course, mix in a little cat payback.”

Pelle seemed to not quite understand, and then seemed to understand a little, confused and quiet.

Saul also stopped talking.

At the end of the immediate sight, a winding coastline appeared in shadow.

……

Saul thought that Kismet had persuaded Ophelia not to pursue him, but unbeknownst to him, at the sight of Kismet, Ophelia was not angry at all, and without even needing the other party to open his mouth, he voluntarily gave up on capturing Saul and landed on the back of the big fish that Kismet was riding on.

“Didn’t I tell you to come back in six months?” Ophelia sat on the fins of the fish, her feet sticking out into the seawater.

The huge ray that was originally wiggling its fins and paddling was instantly honest and didn’t dare to move anymore, floating like a corpse on the surface of the sea, following the waves.

“I see that you have imprisoned my master and don’t want me to come over early, right?” Kismet snorted and couldn’t tell if he was angry or not.

Ophelia said graciously, “How is it imprisonment? It’s just an experiment, though.”

“Aren’t you concentrating on using the Ancient Water God’s method to advance to the fifth rank, how do you have the energy to experiment with my master?”

Speaking of this, Ophelia’s expression finally changed, looking somewhat unwilling and determined.

“Originally, I just wanted to leave a split as an alternative. But after just fighting with a water elemental being, I came to the realization that I’ll never be able to use the Ancient Water God’s method to advance to the fifth rank!” “Water elemental being?” Kismet was a bit puzzled, how did he not know that there were pure elemental beings in this world?

But at the moment that wasn’t the most important thing.

“Are you sure that the method of the Ancient Water God cannot be promoted? You’re the only fourth-ranked sorcerer in this world who majors in the water element. If even you can’t be promoted using this method, then there’s even less hope for the others.”

Ophelia’s complexion darkened, “No. I’ve been overlooking one point. The Ancient Water God is not a human, he should be the legendary Cyan Scale Race, a type of mermaid race. The Cyan Scale Clan, on the other hand, is one that can completely transform itself into an aquatic being. And I …… can’t completely turn into a single elemental life no matter how close I get to the water system.”

Kismet didn’t sympathize with Ophelia, and even suggested with a smile, “Or you can also transform yourself into a mermaid race under the Red Sea Tree?”

Ophelia crossed Kismet’s eyes, “Don’t call the monsters created by the Judgment Court mermaids.”

“Also, I heard the Ruling Court gave them a new racial name, Whalers.”

Ophelia was unconcerned, “Just a bunch of lowly beings living in mud and garbage, hard for them to come up with a name.”

Kismet didn’t say another word, bowing his head and starting to fiddle with his harp again.

It was Ophelia who was the first to sulk, “Since you won’t let me go and get Saul back, let’s start our original plan.”

Kismet suddenly raised his eyes to stare at Ophelia.

Ophelia let out a light laugh, “What are you staring at me so much for? Wasn’t it agreed that we would work together to contact the former owner of the Death Wizard’s Diary – Lord Douglas.”

Kismet was expressionless, “Are you sure you want to contact him? He’s not a kind messenger. Aren’t you afraid that if you contact him, he will turn around and eat you as a snack?”

The smile on Ophelia’s face disappeared as well.

Apparently, she also instinctively cringed at the mention of the former owner of the diary.

But Ophelia was a goal-oriented and rather stubborn person, and she soon overcame her own fear, “I dared to contact him, so naturally, I also have the backbone to not get eaten. Now it’s up to you, whether or not you’re willing to make this introduction for me.”

Kismet lowered her head and gently strummed her harp.

The sound of the harp tinkled, but it was drowned out by the sound of the surrounding waves.

“It’s useless even if I’m willing. Now that the only stargate is firmly held by the Stargate Council, which doesn’t allow anyone to get even the slightest bit close to it, how am I supposed to contact Douglas?”

Ophelia’s eyes lit up all of a sudden.

Her head suddenly flew up from her shoulders, stretching her neck to an extremely long length, and her face came right up to Kismet.

Her face was filled with excitement, so excited that her features were a bit grim.

“Who says there’s only one Stargate in this world?”

Without waiting for Kismet to ask, she took the initiative to confess.

“This time, I helped Sol to communicate to connect to another world, and on the way to that world, I found an extremely small gap in the world wall. It was also through that gap that Sol was able to attempt to connect to the other world!”

“Now that we have our own stargate, we don’t have to look at those cowards anymore!”

Kismet was completely shocked and didn’t speak for half a day.

After a long, long time, he lowered his head, his shoulders shaking, and he couldn’t stop laughing.

“Saul can still communicate with another world? Heh heh heh …… he always brings me surprises.”

Ophelia narrowed her eyes and waited silently for Kismet’s answer.

The laughter came to an abrupt halt as Kismet looked back up, his gaze fierce and twisted.

“Since you’re even ready for the gaping hole in the world wall, I’ll contact my former master for you. As it happens, I still have something stored with him!”
