Chapter 77 – Interesting Spiritual Infusion

Chapter 77 Interesting Spiritual Body Indoctrination

Without waiting for Saul to try to explain, Nick turned his head to the female apprentice on the inductor’s chair and said, “That’s enough, you can go out, review at least once in a month, and if you feel any abnormality, you can come earlier.”

All restraints were released as the inductive chair closed.

The female apprentice braced herself on the armrests of the electric chair and stood up, her footsteps a little messy, she nodded silently at Nick, unable to tell if she was happy or disappointed.

Watching the female apprentice leave the lab and close the door before Nick said to Saul, “Do we know what we’re doing now?”

“I saw spiritual bodies on that woman that didn’t belong to her. Is she being invaded by a spirit body?” Saul tried to analyze.

“You can’t call it an invasion in her case. In fact, it would be more appropriate for you to call her a he. After all, that man’s spirit is the current owner of that body.”

Sol’s eyes widened at once.

A man’s soul? The current owner?
What did that mean? Taking over a body? Or a different body?
“Our current experiment is actually the mentor’s project, the full name of which is ‘A Study on the Feasibility and Adaptability of Spirit Transfer into the Survival of Another’s Corpse’. But the name is too long, we all call it Soul Infusion.”

Nick handed the information in his hand to Saul for him to look at.

“You can skip the content that makes you feel uncomfortable, after all, it’s beyond your knowledge.”

Saul looked down and flipped through it.

Sure enough most of the content he either couldn’t understand or was dazzled by it.

He could only tell that it was an experimental observation record. In the first few pages was the subject’s identity file, followed by the date, the experiment process and whatnot.

From the file, he could tell that the soul of the experimental subject came from a first level apprentice in the tower, while the body belonged to a second level apprentice who had died for various reasons, but whose body was relatively intact.

The first level apprentices were all old apprentices in their twenties who still hadn’t been able to enter the second level, and before the experiment, they would sign a contract to voluntarily give up their original bodies and take all the risks of the spirit infusion experiment.

Of course, how voluntary this voluntariness is is still up for debate.

At the back there were records of different reactions to using the manipulation disk, that one he only scanned.

There was too much to read.

For example, what soul several major attributes, what body reaction characteristic index, flesh freshness, spirit body aggregation, and a bunch of rune deduction ……

After reading this record, Saul clearly felt his lack of knowledge.

He originally thought that knowledge would be fine by self-learning, but now that he thought about it, he was still too arrogant.

However, in the past, there had always been a Sidhe behind him, so he could only go by the sword in order to survive, but now he could study in peace and make up for his progress.

Oh, and first, he had to solve the grievous spirit on his body.

“Senpai, is it easy to transfer a spirit to someone else?”

“Of course it’s not easy, first you have to keep the spirit body sane and intact. A grievous evil spirit possessing a human body will not advance our research in any way.”

“Then there’s the step of indoctrination, which is quite painful for both the experimenter and the experimented. After all, it’s not the spirit’s original body. And we have a big problem with this step.” Nick stared at the top of Sol’s head and said somewhat tentatively, “If you do research in this area in the future, you can look at it together.”

He flipped the record to the top page and pointed to the gender of the spirit and the body.

“We can only manage to infuse a male soul into a female body or vice versa now. However, it is impossible to instill a male soul into a male body or a female soul into a female body. This is something that even the mentor hasn’t been able to figure out what went wrong.”

Sol read the contents of the file again and realized that this was indeed the case.

What was this?
Opposites attract and genders repel?
But did souls have genders too? Or was the gender of the soul based on the self-perception of the soul’s consciousness?

Seeing that Saul was pondering and seemed to have gotten into it, Nick felt that it was almost time, so he continued his explanation.

“The final step is the long process of maintenance and observation. Many spirits collapse on their own shortly after entering the body. How to maintain it for a long time is also a difficult task in this research.

“As for observation, it’s the experiment we just did. As you can see, it’s interesting to note that the stimulus feedback from the body and the spirit to the inductor’s chair are also almost completely opposite. So they control the body and the behavior is strange. But how to fix it, that’s all up to the mentor, we’re just taking notes for now.”

Nick retrieved the notes from Saul’s hand, “I think you’ve got a primer on psychic indoctrination, so let’s call in number two again. Today, well …… there are only two in total.”

Subject number two was a male.

It was also a level two apprentice that Saul had met with Mentor Rum.

There were only two of them in total? The female second level apprentice whose face had once rushed out from behind didn’t come over yet.

Is something wrong with her?

The testing process for number two was similar to number one, and after Sol helped record the data, today’s task was considered all done. The rest of the subsequent experimental process was not something that Saul could participate in.

So, while Nick was starting to pack up his things, Saul spoke out his request.

“Huh?” Nick put down the records in his hand and looked Saul up and down, “You have a grudge on you? The corpses in the Sorcerer’s Tower are specially treated, and it’s rare for evil spirits and grudges to run out. And it takes a certain amount of emotional entanglement for a grudge to haunt you. Why are you …… not Sid, right? Why does he hate you so much? To haunt you even after death?”

For this question, Saul couldn’t answer well and could only rub the back of his head with an innocent face.

“I’m not really sure. It was Mentor Rum who saw that I had a grudge on me and told me to come to the senior to deal with it.”

“Mentor …… told you to find me to deal with it?” Nick’s eyes were a bit strange, but his emotions were extremely internalized, so nothing could be seen on the surface.

“Yes, of ……” Being stared at by Nick like this, Saul was suddenly a little apprehensive.

“I understand.” In the middle of the day, Nick slowly lifted his chin and nodded at the inductive chair in front of the two of them, “Then you sit on it.”

Saul “?!!!!”

“Me? Sit on it?” Saul pointed first to himself and then to the inductive chair across the room.

“Yeah, you didn’t think that I, a second level apprentice, would be better at dealing with grunts than my mentor, did you?” Nick picked up the maneuvering disk again and began to point and draw, “Of course it’s because here’s the best inductive chair for tormenting Spiteful Spirits.”

“An inductive chair can also get rid of grudge spirits?”

“Not the ones that are too strong, of course, but if the Grudge Spirit in you was really too strong, then you wouldn’t be alive right now.”

Nick adjusted the manipulator dial and saw that Saul was still standing still.

“Scared? Don’t worry it’s very …… cool.”

Nick borrowed Saul’s phrase.

The corner of Saul’s mouth twitched twice, “So I’m sitting on it?”

Nick nodded.

“I really sat on it?”

Nick looked at Saul with some confusion, “Go …… right?”

Saul saw that the diary didn’t react, so it seemed that this wasn’t an assassination plot by Nick’s senior.

He thought back to the expression on the face of the male spirit he had just seen, and decided that he would make sure to manage his expression when he sat on it later.

Saul climbed into the high-backed chair and rolled over to sit.

The chair was immediately customized to fit Saul’s size.

But Nick came up and inserted the spikes into Saul’s skin. The front end of the rope is very thin, piercing the skin does not hurt at all, just a little itch.

Nick only inserted the rope at Saul’s wrists and ankles, purposely avoiding Saul’s left hand and neck and other vitals.

“Senior Nick?” Saul inquired suspiciously.

“It’s not like we’re observing your emotions, there’s no need to tie so many, it’s fine if we can settle the grudge.”

Nick said as he walked back to the console and picked up the joystick.

Sol’s heart immediately lifted.

He clenched his teeth hard, his fingers gripping the armrests of the inductor’s chair.

“Hang on …… hang on ……” Saul internally gave himself a pep talk.

Then he saw Nick’s hand nod a few times on the maneuvering dial.

KAM!
I said I’d add this week, and I did it on Wednesday! (with a black eye)
