Chapter 759 – Ophelia’s Commission

Chapter 759 – Ophelia’s Commission

After the Dark Moon Era, the path for wizards to advance to the fifth rank to travel to other worlds was cut off.

However, until the Solstice Calendar, the only remaining fourth-order wizards in the world had not given up on finding a way to advance.

The Court of Judgment placed its hopes on the culprit, the Eye of the Abyss.

The Stargate Council held the only Stargate and refused to let go.

And as an independent force, Sky City Lord Ophelia has been searching for the way to advancement of the ancient wizards. She believes that even if the world has changed, the path that once led out of a fifth-order sorcerer will not be completely cut off.

After all of Sky City’s sorcerers’ hard searching, and desperate research, Ophelia had also obtained a few suspected methods of fifth-order sorcerer promotion.

It was just that these methods were either missing important information, or were too dangerous at first glance, or lacked corresponding sorcery resources.

“There are actually times when I envy those gods that the foolish people of the past believed in. Do you know about Bichir?” Ophelia spoke with a lot of emotion and casually asked Saul.

“I’ve heard of some.”

“Initially, the living sacrifices of Bichirye were not as simple an atrocity as we would like to think, and there were many principles of sorcery embedded in them, only that they have all been lost now, with only a few small tricks left, and killings that were only for catharsis.”

Ophelia’s neck shortened slowly and languidly, her head returning to the white porcelain vase, and she turned in place twice like a screw before coming to a slow, grinding halt towards Saul.

“You wanted me to help you contact Pelle, and if it were normal, I would have loved to get in touch with that phantom world you speak of. But right now, the ancient sorcerer promotion path I’ve been pursuing finally has a clue, and I can’t spare my energy to help you for now.”

“How long will it take for you to spare the time?”

“Who can say with things like sorcery experiments? Maybe it’s a year, maybe it’s a hundred years …… I won’t easily give up until I’m sure I can’t continue.”

Saul also thought about the possibility that Ophelia might not help him, and although there were alternatives, he would have to fight a little harder.

“Is the illusionary world still less attractive to you than a fifth-ranked sorcerer?”

Ophelia laughed softly, “If the Illusory World is indeed as you say, it is true that you can reach the sixth rank tier, but that would also mean powerful, dangerous, and difficult to resist, for me, it is still more practical for me to have a fifth rank promotion option.”

Saul was about to make a condition, but he saw his diary move. He then swallowed back what he was about to say and drew a wisp of spirit from his temple.

Ophelia watched Saul’s movements, obviously still more concerned about the conditions he was going to mention next.

However, Saul was the one who pulled Pelle, who had been in a state of black pages, out of his diary.

The spirit fell and wriggled into shape, changing into a woman with two heads.

One head was the likeness of Pelle, tilting her head back and glaring viciously at Ophelia with a fierce face.

The other head was that of Nerilla, facing Ophelia for the first time, very uneasy, and could only keep pursuing Saul with her afterglow.

Saul signaled her not to worry, see what Pelle said.

Ophelia was a little surprised but also a little dazed after seeing Pelle.

“No wonder Saul came over so quickly. So it was you who reminded him.”

Pei’er snorted coldly, “So put away that sympathetic look. Other people don’t know what’s going on with you, don’t I still know?” The other head, Nerella, hung her head low, her chin going to her chest.

Pei’er was still talking, not caring at all about exposing Ophelia’s bottom in public, “If those ancient sorcerer’s promotion methods were really suitable for you, would you still directly betray me in order to participate in the research of the Stargate?”

Pei’er gritted her teeth, “I’ve never been to the Stargate, and the only way they can get to know me is through you. If you hadn’t informed the people of the Stargate Council of all my information, how would they have dared to directly allow that fool to become an experiment for exploring the coordinates of the Stargate?”

“She is indeed a fool.” Ophelia said quietly, “She has all been told not to separate her own emotions when separating her consciousness. As a result, she still split a you. Now it seems that you already have a rather independent consciousness, Pei’er, even if she returns, I’m afraid it will be difficult for her to take you back.”

“Even if she comes back, it will still be me devouring her! With that brain of hers, how can she live in this world?”

Pei’er puffed out her chest, seemingly wanting to take a step forward, but the right of action of her body was still with Nerella, this second-ranked little sorcerer didn’t dare to step forward to face Ophelia at all, and her feet were dead set in the same place.

Pei Er failed in her action, and could only give Nerella a fierce glare, fortunately she still remembered the mission she came out for.

“Anyway, you don’t need to pretend in front of me. Even if you’re really studying the method of advancing to the fifth rank, aren’t so many of your doppelgangers delving into it, how could you really not have the time to connect to the Illusory World? If you have any conditions, just mention them quickly, and if you speak slowly, I’ll directly have Saul go to Alic. His interest in the Illusory World is definitely not smaller than yours.”

Ophelia wasn’t angry either, “You’re right, I am more interested in the Illusion World, but it’s also true that I’m very busy right now.”

She looked at Sol, “If you really want me to help you try to connect to the Illusion World right now, you need to accept a commission. Only if you accept this commission will I be able to spare some of my energy to help you communicate with the Illusion World.”

Sol nodded, “That can be seen as a deal. What exactly is it, Your Excellency tell me.”

Ophelia suddenly lowered her voice, “Sky City recently lost a third-order sorcerer …… who drowned.”

Drowned?

Somehow, Saul suddenly thought of the white porcelain kitten he had seen on the airship.

Was that artifact even so capable of killing even a third-ranked sorcerer?

Saul’s face did not change, “You want me to find out the cause of death of that third-ranked sorcerer?”

“More than that. He died while helping me research a method for the advancement of an ancient sorcerer. But he betrayed me.”

Ophelia’s voice couldn’t hear if she was angry at the betrayal of her men.

“The Bichir I once told you about were barbarians who enjoyed killing and bloodshed in ancient times. And the promotion method I found this time comes from the being known as the Water God in ancient times.”

Saul thought to himself, “A being known as the Water God? It seems that Ophelia doesn’t recognize such a term as the Water God within her heart. It’s also true that I’m now in the Chaotic Domain, but wasn’t I also addressed as the Death Judge? If Noah had more guts, I would be the God of Death right now.”

Ophelia didn’t seem to notice that Saul was lost in thought, or didn’t care even if she did, as she continued, “The dead third-ranked sorcerer was called Krum. Once a sorcerer from the Nefret continent, after he came to defect to Sky City, I didn’t care about his origin and gave him several biographies related to the Ancient Water God to study. Who knew that he really found traces of the Ancient Water God.”

“However, after he discovered the traces left behind by the Water God, he didn’t report it to me, but instead, he found himself a room with six walls sealed with ice and secretly researched in it.”

Pei’er suddenly laughed and said unflinchingly, “It seems that your men have found a way to circumvent your surveillance. A frozen room with no liquid water, hahaha …… Well!”

Pelle’s loud laughter suddenly stopped as Nerella, at Sol’s signal, went straight up and covered her mouth.

Saul turned his head, “Please, go on.”
