Chapter 730 – Saul the Adulterer

Chapter 730 – Saul the Adulterer
Kate had never heard of “Cat’s Karma”, but he had seen it now.

This guy didn’t seem to have fear in the darkness of the night.

He was carrying the cat on an unseen road, and every now and then some black shadows appeared in the tall buildings around him, gazing at the man and the cat.

Despite being carried by Saul, Kate felt a pang of fear.

He shrank his arms and legs, and his eyes couldn’t stop looking from side to side, as if he had completely forgotten that he was a wizard.

What annoyed him the most was that every time Saul walked past a streetlight, he had to stop and wait for a moment, taking advantage of Orange Cat Kate’s sensitivity to fear to gather those dark shadows hidden in the shadows.

A multitude of dark shadows would soon gather next to the streetlight, making the already not-so-bright light even dimmer.

Once these black shadows had gathered to a certain extent, Saul would use a special way to shock the tall and thin black shadows into a pile of powder.

Kate didn’t know how Saul was able to resist the terrifying pressure created by these black shadows.

It couldn’t be by carrying it hard with his mental body, could it?
After passing the third streetlight, Kate finally couldn’t help but tremble and open her mouth.

“Black Blade Wizard, are you trying to clear out the enemies here this way? But I feel as if this won’t work.”

The orange cat quickly glanced at the tall buildings around her.

The fear that these buildings brought to him was not alleviated by half because Saul had killed some of the black shadows.

“I think these dark shadows are what are attached to this place, and you breaking these won’t affect the place.”

“Actually, I didn’t break these black shadows to destroy this place.” Saul took two more steps forward, then stopped, “Have you felt that there have been eyes watching us?”

The orange cat stiffened and straightened its front paws, “Of course there are, there always have been, these dark shadows have been watching me since I came in. By the streetlights, in the room, and that moon in the sky! Where is that moon? It’s clearly the most terrifying eye in the place!”

Saul suddenly interrupted Kate, “You’re right.”

“?” Kate was puzzled then emphasized, “Right? Instead of this wasted effort ……”

Who would have guessed that Saul raised his head to stare at the moon overhead.

“I’ve been able to feel a sense of watching ever since I came in. That gaze is different from any other being here, very special …… because he’s sensible.”

“Sane?” Kate wondered a little.

“It’s normal that you’re not sure, after all, you don’t know exactly where this place is. What state we’re really in.”

“You know?”

“Uh-huh.” Saul looked up, his gaze locked on the moon overhead.

The moon was full again at this point.

It was as if it was also locking eyes with Saul.

Saul said in a loud voice, “This place is actually the Inverted Tree’s replica of the inner city of Archaust. However, there has always been an existence here that does not belong to the city of Archaust that has gone unnoticed. It exists so blatantly that I never considered that it might not be a product of the Inverted Tree.”

The moon overhead curved up just a bit as Sol watched.

“Isn’t that right, Mr. Moon?”

As soon as Saul’s words left his mouth, the moon in the sky fell at the speed of free fall.

“So, isn’t that the moon?” Kate, finally free, immediately jumped off of Sol’s hand and ran backward seven or eight steps in a row before stopping and turning to look at the sky.

“What’s so strange about it?” The moon landed directly in front of Sol and hovered about a meter from the ground.

It was only when one got close enough to see that the moon was actually a light ball shell.

It was just that two eyes and a mouth suddenly grew out of the shell and came up to spit at the orange cat.

“Is the moon you see the moon? Is a fat cat really a cat just because you look like one? Do you think what surrounds you is an illusion?”

Kate froze at the top of the moon. As much as he wanted to say he wasn’t fat, he didn’t have the chance to open his mouth.

Seeing no reaction from the orange cat, Moon seemed to think he was no threat and looked at Sol again.

“I saw you as soon as you came in, and I knew you weren’t any good. When you pretended to be honest you fooled everyone, even me. Damn it, sure enough trusting strangers comes with a price!”

Saul raised his eyebrows, he suddenly knew who the moon in front of him was.

“Wizard Shia?”

“You don’t have to pretend, if you didn’t know who I am, would you intentionally show your strength in front of me so as to draw me out?”

Shia was sick again.

Always speculating about others with the utmost malice.

However, it was also possible that it was this character that made him an anomaly among the spirits absorbed by the Inverted Tree.

“Whatever you think.” Saul didn’t bother to explain, “I originally came here because I wanted one thing, but the state of the Inverted Tree has clearly changed. So I need to figure out one thing, what about the tree now? Who exactly is the owner of this tree?”

Kate, who was dumbfounded by Shia’s question, couldn’t help but turn her gaze to Sol.

“And who is this Blackblade Wizard? He seems to know more than Wilde.” A cold light flashed in the orange cat’s big, dull eyes and disappeared in a flash, returning to its dumbstruck state.

He did his best to minimize his presence while he pricked up his ears again to listen to the two men’s conversation.

“Hmph, why should I tell you?” Shia, who had turned into the moon, snorted coldly, “Could it be that you also covet the Inverted Tree? That’s not something you can lust after!”

Thor clasped his hands to his chest and mocked back, “Why do you care about that? Whoever it is, it can’t be you anyway, a spirit body that has long since become a puppet.”

Luna’s eyes narrowed sharply, “You’re provoking me? No need to waste your efforts. Just know that without my help, you will be trapped in the Inverted City forever and ever until you too become cocoons of the Inverted Tree.”

Luna threatened Thor and Kate viciously.

“Don’t bother with that.” Thor suddenly bullied his way forward and reached out to touch Moon.

The moon quickly rose and in the blink of an eye came to the height of a streetlight.

But Saul’s speed wasn’t slow, not only that, the speed of the gray translucent tentacles that he suddenly swung his arms and threw out was even faster, directly stopping the moon halfway and quickly wrapping back around and tying a knot on him.

“You?” Seeing Saul make a move, Shia seemed to have forgotten that it was he himself who had taken the initiative to fall from the sky, “You liar, you really are trying to kill me!”

Shia, who had already been in the Inverted Tree for many years, was angry but not terrified.

While cursing, he prepared to change his form and escape from the “knot” created by Saul.

The full moon turned into a crescent moon in the blink of an eye.

However, Shia realized that the rope binding him had shrunk with him!

It turned out that there were rows and rows of suction cups on top of the tentacles that bound him, firmly adhering to the surface of the moon.

Thor pulled back the tentacles without slowing down and watched as Shia tried to break free but couldn’t.

“Your consciousness, though still independent, has clearly been affected by the Inverted Tree. If anything, we might not be able to leave this inverted city without you, but without me, you will lose yourself a little bit in disguise.”

Shia’s struggling movements slowed down significantly.

Obviously, he also understood this, or else he wouldn’t have been in such a hurry to show himself in front of Sol.

Compared to Saul, who was trapped in the inverted city, he, Shia, was the one who was in a hurry to get out of the trap.

Shia reappeared as a full moon, “What the hell are you doing?”

Saul smiled, “Let’s make a deal. I help you heal, you help me get the seed of the Tree of Inversion. If it hasn’t rotted already.”
