Chapter 718: The Wizard of Jonah
Chapter 718 – Yona Wizard
Sol flew low, weaving his way through the forested ruins, also looking for any other suspicious items.
“It’s still a bit ahead.”
Penny was in command.
“It’s right over there, it should be in that building.”
Finally Saul stopped at the ridge of a small three-story building and looked across the street at a small building of the same size.
This was the inner city of Kaukoust, unlike the northwestern part of the city which was full of high-rise buildings, this place was mostly low-rise but delicate small buildings.
At one time, this was mostly the residence of wizards and wizard apprentices, and there were also some ordinary people with higher power status living here.
The buildings here weren’t as tall, nor were they as badly dilapidated as the high-rise areas.
Most of the buildings hadn’t collapsed, only the windows and doors were basically broken.
The eaves of the roofs and the inside of the rooms were similarly covered in a thick layer of dust.
As far as the eye could see, they were all empty, with no one in sight.
But at this moment, there was a dark shadow writhing in the room across from Saul.
This black shadow was supposed to be a person, draped in a dusty and tattered cloak, and seemed to be bending down to grope for something.
Saul didn’t approach immediately, so he watched his movements from a street’s distance.
“What do you guys think he’s looking for?” Saul asked his two companions who had stayed inside the diary.
“Food?” Herman asked.
“Not like that.” Penny immediately countered, “Look at the place he’s looking, it’s not even a normal place for someone to put food.”
Saul noticed it too.
The dark figure in the house across the street didn’t look like he was looking for either food or props or possessions.
He was just carefully feeling around on the ground.
As if something would exist on the ground.
“The dust on the floor across from him is what it looks like when no one has stepped on it for a long time. He should be entering that room for the first time.”
The man across the room didn’t notice their presence during the time that Saul’s few people were observing, only to inadvertently turn his direction, allowing Saul to see his face.
“Hmm?” Saul raised an eyebrow.
“Whoa!” Penny shrieked, but there was no shock in the shriek, instead it was more of a tease.
“Brother Saul, this one doesn’t have a face hey!”
“Penny, to be precise, he has no facial features. But this person, I happen to recognize.”
“Brother Saul, you’re awesome, you’ve turned into this appearance, you can still recognize it?”
Saul leapt up from the roof he was on and went straight through the window of the opposite room.
He then chose a less dirty place to land.
“Wizard Yonah.” Sol called out the name of the man crawling on the ground.
Yona, one of the original instructors of Baidong Academy, majored in dark attribute sorcery.
Because he usually nestled in the lab with his apprentices, the only impression Saul had of him was that he cared about credits.
The kind that could turn into a shrug in a second.
I didn’t expect to see him again, but he had already turned into this wretched appearance now.
Only when he got closer did Saul see that his cloaked body was also mutilated.
The fingers on his palms all had only the first knuckle left, and the wounds were uneven and seemed to be corrosive wounds.
And judging by the outline of his clothes, his calves were just as half gone.
Of course none of these injuries were anything to a first rank sorcerer.
What really made him an incomparable mess was the abnormality on his face.
A face with no eyes, mouth or nose, only ears and hair.
Instead of being smooth and round like a briny egg, the place where he lost his five senses was as uneven as his fingers.
From his chin to a little above his forehead, it was this horrible look.
“Wow!” Penny exclaimed again, “I can already imagine how he was hurt.”
“He must have been suspended by his waist by something and then dangled down to get dipped in some corrosive solution. It’s like using a slice of bread and dipping it in tomato bisque.” “Just talk, don’t bring food with you.” Saul spat it out.
The Nightmare Butterfly didn’t need to eat and had no problem destroying food.
Until this time, the opposite Yonah Sorcerer ignored Saul, still poking around on the ground by himself.
At this time, he had already groped his way from the dining room to the living room under the dining table, and while crawling forward, he even knocked over chairs, shaking up a cloud of dust.
Herman transformed into a silver light, flew forward, and came back quickly.
He reported back to Saul, “No, the ears are just a decoration too, they’re rotten inside.”
Saul frowned, puzzled, “Who did it so hard? The key is still so boring.”
If one hated someone, killing was the way to go.
If you really don’t feel relieved, it’s fine to torture and then kill again.
But to make someone like this, and then let them wander, the other person may meet some opportunity to turn around.
Having already searched for a long time in the neighborhood, Saul was certain that there was absolutely no second living person in this area.
He stepped forward and raised his hand to tap Jonah on the shoulder.
The latter immediately acted like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, and his entire body jumped up, facing in Saul’s direction, and his back arched up, just like a wild animal.
“It’s so hard to meet a living person, how are we going to communicate like this!”
The entire molded Yona was already in a high state of mental tension even if his sanity was still intact.
I’m afraid that he wouldn’t even bother to understand Saul’s meaning.
And most of the sorceries for communication, when casting and receiving, had to utilize multiple organs such as the eyes and ears.
Favorably, none of the people on the opposite side of the room had any yet.
“Should I have Penny find another person? Then I’ll take this time to communicate with the other person.”
But just as he thought of this, Saul changed his mind again.
“Wait, since it’s hard to communicate with Jonah in reality, I can try communicating with the other person in the dream world!”
Anyone who wasn’t born without five senses should miss their sound life in their dreams.
Penny gave a playful laugh and naturally cooperated.
Butterflies as silver as silver wire outlined and created fluttered lightly from Sol’s brow.
Saul slowly closed his eyes.
The silver butterfly landed on his back, curled violently, and stretched again in the next second.
The silver butterfly wings expanded in an instant to become huge butterfly wings nearly two meters long.
The wings gently flapped once.
The dark world that Saul saw after closing his eyes immediately appeared in colorful rectangular blocks.
These moment blocks were like building blocks, square and angular.
But they were so numerous that when they fell from the sky, it was like a torrential downpour.
These block-like moment blocks fell to the ground and automatically pieced together the world as it was.
Gradually, the moment blocks became smaller and smaller, while the items that were piled up by it became clearer and finer, and in the end, the world took on a new shape.
It was as if Saul was instantly inside a cozy bedroom.
On one wall of the bedroom, the built cabinets were filled with a variety of sorcery books.
The other wall of the bedroom was filled with bottles and jars.
Obviously another home only visit issue.
And Jonah, the once crooked-eyed wizard mentor, stood at his lab table, holding a small wooden box and burying his head in it, rummaging around.
“Sorcerer Yonah. Hello.” Sol greeted again.
Startled, Jonah jerked back to reveal a face with only one eye.
Penny was a little disappointed, “That’s it? I couldn’t possibly be scared of this face!”
