Chapter 589 Prelude
Chapter 589 Prelude
After reading the diary, Saul very submissively stepped back another ten meters.
But looking at the ground full of Brown Wizards in front of him, he was not willing to leave empty-handed.
“Zo, have your doppelganger go over and see if he can sweep out that pile of square blocks?”
Little Grass stuck out from the back of Saul’s neck and looked at Saul with his mouth wide open, seemingly not quite understanding what he meant.
Saul reached out and pointed out to it the pile of broken blocks on the ground that had been turned into pieces by the Brown Wizard.
The little algae’s mouth grinned, and this time it understood.
With its breath high, it split off a thin black tentacle and swished over the ground, forming a circle along the shattered pieces of Wizard Brown.
However, it was just about to bring it over to Sol’s side when it realized that Wizard Brown’s shattered pieces were too small and would fall over his body and behind him.
Two efforts didn’t take the pile of broken pieces with it.
Saul was about to teach it how to split itself into a broom, when he saw Algae’s doppelganger suddenly open its mouth wide and expand directly into a circle one meter in diameter.
Inside the round mouth were tiny teeth that kept wriggling.
It looked surprisingly bizarre and terrifying.
Before Saul could comment on the appearance of the small algae doppelganger, he saw it snap its mouth onto the broken pieces on the ground, and then it began to wriggle from its lips to the front half of its body in a shrinking motion.
When a few breaths passed and it raised its head again, there was not a single fragment left on the ground.
Saul waited for the small algae doppelganger to return, and then glanced at all the remaining Jaegers in front of the old manor, raised his hand, and a gust of wind blew through, directly turning everyone into broken pieces scattered all over the ground.
Then he commanded Little Algae to send out another doppelganger and stirred and stirred on the ground.
The broken pieces of those people’s bodies were then mixed into a pile.
Now it was impossible to tell who was who.
It was also impossible to tell how many people were here.
In the end, Saul carefully cleaned up all the traces of his visit and exited the old manor area with Komo.
After walking out for some distance, Saul immediately said to Little Algae, “Quickly spit out those broken pieces. It’s still uncertain if there are any other problems in there.”
Little Algae nodded and commanded her doppelganger to spit out all the broken pieces with a crash.
The fragments did not know what they had gone through in the mouth of Algae’s doppelganger, and when they came out again, they were already coated with a few threads of crystal-clear saliva.
“Uh …… should have waited until we got back to make you spit.” Sol held his forehead helplessly.
Of course, he also knew that even if Koho was a magical creature that fed on dead air, this kind of strange stuff still couldn’t be eaten casually.
Saul used a cleansing spell to remove the saliva from the broken pieces, before using a cloth bag to put away all the corpse pieces.
Returning to the Sorcerer’s Tower, Saul took out a small piece of the shattered pieces of the Brown Sorcerer and placed it on the crucible, adding a few drops of pure water, pieces of uncontaminated souls, and other crystalline crumbs that were very clean in nature.
Heating it over a small flame, after just a few dozen seconds, the originally translucent white soul fragment was tinted with a starry black color.
And a portion of the Brown Wizard’s broken body lost its square shape and turned into a small pile of soft mud.
“It’s still …… as contaminated as the Black Tide.”
Camus saw Saul’s experiment even from a long distance away, “The penetration method can only make a preliminary detection.”
Saul didn’t turn around, “But it’s already possible to reduce the contamination inside these broken pieces to a safe level. It can be used as a filtering carrier for the magic storage pool.”
Saying that, Saul replaced the small crucible in front of him with a cauldron half a meter deep, and then poured all of the Brown in.
Seeing this Camus was a little puzzled, “The number of carriers that need to be cleaned increases, and the materials needed for the infiltration method will also increase exponentially ……”
Before she could finish, she saw a large amount of pure soul fragments drilling out of Sol’s fingertips.
Camus and Sol had worked together for such a long time, and would still be surprised by some of Sol’s reserves.
How did he have so many Pure Soul Fragments?
It was important to realize that pure soul fragments were very hard to come by and hard to preserve, and if one wasn’t careful, they would be contaminated and turned into unusable and disposable clutter. Despite the great doubt in her heart, Camus didn’t say anything, she just watched Saul restart the pot to boil water with a heart full of complexity.
On the other hand, the small algae returned to the second basement level and burrowed back into the growing space that Saul had prepared for it.
This place had turned into a small piece of black swamp. After drilling in, Little Algae immediately rolled around in it.
As Little Algae thrashed about cheerfully, a black vine-like tentacle gradually stretched out from the muddy black swamp.
These tentacles were as thick as the thighs of adult males, and even thicker than Little Algae’s own body. But they weren’t as flexible as Little Algae and could only swing mechanically.
And these tentacles were not pure black, in the large area of black color, occasionally a white stripe as thin as a cow’s hair would also appear.
As these tentacles swayed strangely, the main body of the small algae drilled out from the ground again.
Its tiny size was completely inconspicuous amongst this group of huge tentacles, but the huge tentacles on the side were completely at its command.
Suddenly the algae split its shark-toothed mouth and a small cube fell out from between its teeth.
The small cube was black and white, and it was impossible to tell which part of the Brown Wizard’s body it was. The small algae stared at the cube and cocked its head.
It was probably thinking about whether or not to give Sol the small square stuck between its teeth.
But it suddenly barred its mouth and swallowed the small cube floating on the mire with a lowered head.
As if it was the first time it had eaten such a strange thing, the algae stuck out its tongue and licked its upper and lower jaws, shaking its head as it dug into the mire again.
……
The wind demon had been a bit irritable lately.
The hunting patrols she had sent out had lost track of four teams before and after.
Although it was not uncommon for formal sorcerers to have accidents in unclaimed lands, the sorcerers she had sent out were all good and they knew to stay away from danger.
Not to mention that those most dangerous things were for ordinary people with testing instruments to do.
The wind demon was fuming again.
The attendant who was reporting to her immediately lowered his head when he saw this, and didn’t dare to speak out to remind her.
However, if he didn’t remind him, there was naturally someone to call Wind Demon back to her senses.
“Wind Demon!” A bit of glittering yellow suddenly appeared within Wind Demon’s cave, “How’s the detection going on your side?”
Wind Demon was almost forcibly interrupted out of her concentration and was a bit annoyed, but when she saw that the one who spoke was just a firefly, she could only helplessly collect her emotions.
“No eye of the wind has been detected. But the Masterless Land is becoming dangerous, and four teams have already gone missing on my side.”
“Four teams?” Lord Firefly’s voice was a bit surprised, “Didn’t you warn them not to go deeper into the danger zone and leave everything to ordinary people?”
“Of course I ……” Wind Demon was just about to reply, when he suddenly felt as if he was following the orders of the Firefly Lord, and unhappily closed his mouth.
After a few moments, she continued, “I’ll send additional manpower, so don’t drag your feet on your side either.”
“Hmph.” The Firefly Lord lightly grunted, and the firefly suddenly ignited itself without fire and crashed to the ground.
Seeing the Firefly Lord leave, Wind Demon closed her eyes and said to the attendant who was still kneeling on the ground, “How are the preparations for the demon storage pool on the side of the Pure Spirit Sorcerer Tower?”
“Separated by the magic-prohibiting Rhine Lake, our people are unable to observe the exact progress. But judging from the supplies he has recently purchased, it should already be in the final stages of testing.”
“What about my magic storage pool?”
“It will still …… take about half a year ……”
“I will only give you guys a month. Have the shell ready within a month.”
Wind Demon opened his eyes again, his upturned eyebrows revealing a bit of coldness.
“After a month, I will personally go and bring back his Demon Storage Pool intact!”
