Chapter 561: I have someone on top
Chapter 561: There’s Someone Above Me
Saul ran all the way to the rescue.
When he saves people, he throws the ordinary people he encounters into the houses around him, and then puts a defense on them and leaves immediately without any delay.
Soon, the magical fluctuations emanating from the starry Spirit Armor Technique caught the attention of the great wizard in the distance.
He twisted his head to look.
“Someone is casting sorcery over there? The source is too spread out to see several witches in action.”
“Hmph, think I won’t be able to find you with such a trick?” The great wizard sneered.
He leaned down and patted the termite while holding Duo Li’s head high, “There’s no hurry to enjoy these well-behaved treats around us, let’s go ahead and get the main course!”
The termite was a bit reluctant, but after a few urges from the Great Wizard, he still left behind the three nearby dull witches who hadn’t had time to eat and flew over to the fence.
Monty rode the termite and quickly chased it to a house that was emitting magic fluctuations. He let the termite land slightly and looked inward, but surprisingly, it was a few ordinary people cowering and shivering within the Spirit Armor Technique.
Surprisingly, there would be a sorcerer rescuing ordinary people?
Monty was first surprised and amused, but finally his eyes rolled.
“Hmph, it’s all just bait. However, it’s useless even if you use them to try to hide your whereabouts. Your ultimate goal was exposed long ago!” The Great Witch patted the termite’s head, no longer bothering with the magic power fluctuations coming out from within the various houses, and flew directly over the roof, quickly arriving near the fence.
As soon as he arrived, he found a figure hidden under a cloak furtively crouching in the corner of the wall, surrounded by the locals’ miscellaneous vehicles to cover his form.
However, both Monty and the termites had their own ways of spotting the hiding wizard.
Especially the termite, who didn’t need Monte’s orders and rushed straight over after spotting the figure of the sorcerer.
It stopped behind the other party with extreme precision, without hitting the fence that would spew poisonous gas, and its huge and sharp mouthparts opened and closed, directly slicing the person in front of it into two pieces!
All of this happened in the blink of an eye.
The sneaky figure snapped in two, the upper half of his body being held up by the termite with its forelimbs, while the lower half of his body fell helplessly to the ground.
But!
There were no blood splatters!
Monty instantly realized the abnormality, “Back up!”
However, the termite did not obey immediately, still struggling to open and close its mouth in an attempt to devour the other party.
Monte was just about to order again when the person who was pinned off began to cry out loudly in pain, directly muffling his voice.
“Pain, pain, pain, pain, pain, pain …… two halves, two halves, two halves!”
The hood fell off, and the bitten man’s head unexpectedly turned directly behind him, facing Monty and revealing his appearance.
The person hidden underneath the cloak was actually a spirit body!
This spirit body was none other than Herman, who was holding a burning spirit-reading candle in one hand, constantly stimulating the feeding termites with the candle flame, while the other hand was holding up an ordinary brick that he had picked up from somewhere, and raised his arm to violently slam into the termite head.
Monty was surprised but not worried. The state of existence of this spirit body in front of him was a bit strange, but it was also not at all a match for a second-stage bow-backed termite.
Even if the Bowback Termite wasn’t good at dealing with spirit beings, its powerful body wouldn’t be injured by it.
“Snap!”
The brick smashed against the termite’s head, and while the latter didn’t react, the brick shattered into several pieces.
One of the pieces, seemingly by coincidence, bounced toward the Great Witch.
And Monty didn’t pay any attention to these broken pieces, he was interested in this special spirit body that could wear clothes, hold candles, and even unleash a brick attack, and even wanted to bring it back to study and research it, to see if he could take it for himself.
It was this momentary curiosity that made him not circumvent the abnormality of the piece of rubble that flew towards him in the first place.
On the head of the half-palm-sized shattered brick, there was a crack running through it, which at first glance appeared to be flat.
However, in the next second, a figure suddenly sprang out of the crack!
Saul had just drilled out half of his body and immediately coalesced a black blade, instantly shattering the human head in Monty’s hand!
And although Monte realized that it was not good the moment he saw Sol and immediately activated the defensive sorcery on his robes, he did not expect that the other party would go straight for Dory’s head.
The black sharp blade against the defensive sorcery that had just risen, almost without the slightest pause it broke through the obstacles and directly entered Dory’s skull.
In the next moment, the black blade, under Saul’s control, directly exploded inside Dory’s skull. Blood, flesh and broken bones, red and white, scattered on the termite’s head, and then slowly flowed down the smooth shell.
And the movement of the termite that was gnawing on Herman stopped all of a sudden, its tentacles kept swaying in the air, and its head slowly twisted backward, as if it had fallen into great uneasiness.
Monte’s face instantly grimaced, raising his hand to release a bead of acid at Sol, who immediately jumped underneath the ant, tugging one foot to avoid the corrosive acid.
The bead of acid hit the termite but did not harm it, but it also woke up the termite that was at a loss for words after losing Dolly’s spiritual soothing!
“Buzz… buzz…”
A tyrannical emotion suddenly emanated from the termite’s body, and the wings behind it fluttered violently, emitting a buzzing sound that directly shook Monty, who was sitting on top of it, away.
Monte knew that the termite that had lost Dolly’s mental control was about to revolt.
However, he still focused most of his attention on Sol.
Although the giant bow-backed termite was of the second rank like him, the former had just been born and was not even very clear in its sanity, so it was naturally not a match for this second-ranked sorcerer who had been a second-ranked sorcerer for decades.
Therefore, Monty wasn’t worried about the termite backfiring, and even if he lost Dolly, he had other ways to regain control of the other party.
It was just a lot of trouble and would take some more time.
And right now, he had to settle this hateful brat in front of him first.
Monty leapt into the air, easily dodging the rush of the bow-backed termites, and the originally prepared Strike Witchcraft turned into a Confinement spell the moment it was released.
Whether it was the way of controlling the movement of the spirit, or the way of hiding in the gap to keep people from realizing it, it made Monte decide to leave this little brat alive first when he made his move.
It wouldn’t be too late for him to throw him to the termites as sustenance for promotion when he had drained the knowledge from this brat’s brain.
However, while Monte was prepared to spare Saul’s life, Saul was not prepared to let him go!
The powerful magic power of a second-ranked sorcerer pressed down from the sky, and Saul immediately released several transparent tentacles around his body to resist.
Monty’s confinement technique failed to block Saul’s movements at the first time.
The tentacles surrounding Saul’s body just kept shattering under the pressure, and it seemed that they could only be delayed for a few moments.
However, what Saul needed was also this moment.
As he and Monty confronted each other, Saul suddenly opened his mouth wide and stuck out his tongue.
The tip of his tongue was inscribed with a miniature sorcery spell formation – the Battlefield of Consciousness!
In Monte’s eyes, a bizarre pattern suddenly appeared in front of him.
The pattern consisted of multiple circles with no pattern.
Intersecting, cutting inward, cutting outward ……
formed a complex and varied circular pattern.
But when Monty tried to take his eyes off the pattern, he realized that the circles were spinning rapidly, like gears biting together.
The gears suddenly jammed and didn’t move, and then they churned incessantly and burst out violently in all directions.
Monte was startled, and only then did he return to his senses, only to find that he was no longer in the settlement, but standing in the center of a huge round platform.
Above his head and beneath his feet was a silent night sky.
In the night sky, countless stars blinked rapidly like eyes.
“Illusion? No, it’s consciousness space!”
“Amazing!” Saul’s figure suddenly appeared at the corner of the round platform, and again, it seemed like he had been standing there all along.
“Worthy of being a second-ranked sorcerer, it’s still the first time someone realized where they were so quickly.”
Monte looked at Saul as if he was looking at a fool.
“Do you have any idea how powerful the attacks of a Second Order Bowback Termite are? You’ve trapped me in your consciousness space, you can’t take care of the outside yourself, and you’ll soon be eaten up by the bowback termites!”
Sol laughed instead.
“Of course I’m aware of that, I’ve just seen it.” He pointed to the top of his head, “But we’re different, I have people on top, but you don’t, so the Bowback Termites will eat you first. I just have to get out after you die.”
