Chapter 504 – Returning to the Hanging Hands Valley
Chapter 504: Returning to the Valley of the Drooping Hands Again
Maria didn’t stay inside Golza’s wizard tower for five minutes, and with the excuse that she had to visit the next wizard, she left at a fast pace.
Golza returned to the lab and went straight around the bucket that was placed on the floor, the Black Tide that had just been discussed and studied by the two of them was casually left behind him.
As his footsteps moved a little closer to the wooden frame placed against the wall, the skin on his body began to recover layer by layer, as if the wounds he had just sustained were nothing more than an illusion used to hide his face.
As he walked, Golza brought his hand up to his chest where pale skin had just grown back.
The robe then automatically parted a small opening.
His fingertips passed through the skin behind the robe and did not enter the chest, then with a hook outward, he dragged out a dark shadow.
The black shadow was dropped at his feet and slowly wriggled, taking on shape and color, turning a little into Yura’s likeness.
Only at this time, Youra looked a bit confused, no longer the crazy appearance when he intended to overturn the Sorcerer’s Tower.
Golza looked down to Yuura who was sitting sideways on the ground, “Do you like the skin of that woman just now?”
A flash of disgust darted through Yuura’s confused eyes, “No.”
Golza smiled faintly and shook her head, “That’s a shame.”
He continued on, coming to a wooden shelf that Maria hadn’t noticed.
The wooden shelves were fixed to the wall, with some of the usual sorcerous materials arranged at the base level below, and the top four tiers held all spherical beakers of similar shape.
Each beaker was filled with a clear liquid, and in the center of the liquid was wrapped a thin gray shadow that looked like a strand of hair.
These gray shadows were still swaying slightly up and down.
Yura got up from the ground and followed Golza curiously, “What are these?”
Golza said, “These are some of the soul fragments I purposely collected in my original wizard’s tower as well as after I came to the Sea of Sighs.”
He points to a thin off-white shadow in the second row and says, “These are half-elven. It was cheap, traded for it with a bit of magic.”
He points to another sliver of soul in the third row and describes, “This is Prince Aruba of Knuckles. Kira was so fierce, I only had time to collect so little.”
Yuura’s eyes wavered a bit at the sound of Kira’s name, but the wavering quickly disappeared and she just calmly said, “Boring.”
Golza smiled and shook his head, “No, not boring at all.”
He picked up the fourth bottle in the fourth row, the “hair strands” inside looked ordinary, but the moment he lifted it up it twisted and tried to penetrate the container and enter Golza’s fingertips.
But the spherical beaker suddenly glowed with a light that stopped the gray shadow’s attempt.
Gortha laughed even more, “You see how lively it is? Even just a little bit still longing for a body. This is my favorite spirit fragment so far. It’s a sliver of the spirit body that was torn off by those mouths after Sol strayed into the candle pipe. By the time I arrived, the mouths that had swallowed the sliver of spirit body had mutated, but the sliver of spirit body remained intact in the mouths.”
“This is …… Sol’s spirit?” Hearing Saul’s name, a complex color was added to Yura’s fluttering eyes.
“Yeah. Do you know what that mouth alien became?” Without waiting for Yuura to guess, Golza continued, “It has eyes growing out of …… every tiny lip crevice.”
Growing eyes wasn’t such a horrible change.
However, when Youra once again recalled Golsa’s words, a few moments of panic suddenly appeared on her face, “Are you saying that the mouth alienated its eyes after …… devouring Sol’s soul?”
“Yeah, it’s interesting, isn’t it? A human’s spirit body can actually contaminate a resentful spirit? Heh ……”
Yuura’s face sank, “Only evil spirits can contaminate spiteful spirits.”
“Not necessarily. Sol’s consciousness body is pure, unlike evil spirits.” Golza shook the beaker in his hand and watched as the unassuming gray shimmer twisted to enter his fingers again, only to be intercepted once more, “The Black Tide and the Stars, likewise, can contaminate the Spiteful Spirit.”
Yura couldn’t understand, “What do you mean by that?”
This time Golza didn’t explain, “I haven’t studied it enough to tell you now. The next Black Tide is coming, I need to re-promote to the third rank once before then.”
He carefully placed the soul fragment belonging to Sol back into the wooden rack.
Unable to feel Golza’s fingers, the soul fragment quieted down again.
Yura was surprised, “Aren’t you already third-ranked?”
Golza shook his head, his white-golden eyes narrowing, “I was in too much of a hurry last time, and I wasn’t too happy with the results of the promotion. I need to go in a different direction and do it again, so I should be able to resurrect you.”
However, when the originally calm Yura heard the word ‘resurrection’, her entire body immediately trembled, and she quickly raised her hands to cover her ears, hunching over and screaming.
Golza just calmly looked at the agonized Yuura, “It seems that the contamination from last time was still too severe, leaving you with a considerable psychological shadow.”
He pressed his hand to the top of Yuura’s head, and Yuura’s body was instantly held in place. After a moment, Yuura lowered his arm and looked up at the handsome man in front of him in confusion
“Who are you?”
Golza smiled gently, “I am your lover.”
……
A few days later, Thor and his party arrived at the entrance to the Valley of the Drooping Hand.
Seeing the steeply descending slope in front of them once again, Saul’s complexion was somewhat complicated.
“To enter the Masterless Land, we have to cross the Valley of the Drooping Hand.”
At this moment, only himself was left beside Saul, and all the other consciousnesses were collected into his diary. Even Penny had changed back to a silver butterfly bookmark, honestly pinned between two black pages.
Saul needed to go through the Valley of the Drooping Hand and enter the opposite side of the Masterless Land this time, and the less mental power fluctuations he emitted, the better.
The mountain road was so steep that normal carriages could not pass through properly.
But Saul had small algae.
It drilled out from the back of Sol’s neck, ran outside, and first tied up the carriage in five different ways, then shot out eight branches and propped them up on the ground, supporting the entire carriage.
From a distance, it looked like a big black spider.
Little Algae then nimbly moved its eight spider legs and steadily sent Sol into the valley below.
The vicinity of the entrance to the Valley of the Drooping Hand was clean.
Sol saw the bodies of two apprentices lying in the middle of the road.
The bodies were highly decomposed, but the apprentice robes they wore were as new as ever, and it might take even longer for them to begin to fall apart.
Despite the two unattractive corpses, the entrance to the Valley of the Drooping Hand was really clean.
Thor narrowed his eyes as the meditative thoughts of the Evolutionary Chart kicked in, and he saw no spirits in the area.
It seemed like someone had cleaned it up specifically.
“Let’s go.” Saul put away the small algae and told Marsh to keep driving.
Marsh looked a little scared, but the mushroom on his head wriggled with increasing glee.
“Don’t worry, we’ll be going through the Valley of the Drooping Hand, but we’ll bypass a few of the most dangerous places.”
In the original battle of the Drooping Hand Valley, the places with the most deaths and injuries were in the middle of the valley, and both ends of the passage were relatively safer.
Morton had once lived in the Valley of the Drooping Hand for hundreds of years, and although he had been muddled during that time, he knew which places were more dangerous, and which places had gathered terrifying evil spirits and pollution.
With Saul’s current strength, as long as he didn’t purposely go to the places where the evil spirits were most dense, he shouldn’t be in too much danger.
If he encountered a small group of evil spirits, he could handle it alone.
The horse that was driving was blindfolded and had its ears plugged, only listening to the command of relying on Marsh’s reins to move forward.
But when the carriage entered the depths of the canyon for some time, Saul realized that not a single evil spirit had run out to get in the way.
Everything was calm, as if they were traveling on the official road of the Kemah Duchy.
Just as the few people in the diary also began to discuss the quietness of the Drooping Hand Valley, a corpse hanging from a cliff suddenly appeared in front of the carriage.
The cliff was tilted in a wide upward and narrow downward direction, so the body hanging from it was swaying without any support.
The body was not hanging. The rope holding it was directly pierced through the other person’s skull, hanging the person in mid-air.
The blood that had been shed in the first place had turned a dark brown color and had not entered the broken robes.
Saul swept over with a glance and immediately confirmed that there was an evil spirit in the corpse.
This was the first evil spirit he had seen since entering the Valley of the Drooping Hand.
The second shift is at night
