Chapter 496: The Eye
Chapter 496: Eyeball
Saul closed his diary with a snap.
“It’s not peaceful out there yet, we’ll interrogate Kent when we leave Archaeust.”
After saying that, without waiting for Herman to nod repeatedly, Saul’s figure disappeared from the platform.
When he opened his eyes, Morton rushed over in a hurry.
Just then, countless eyes suddenly burst out from the face of Kent, who was standing on the opposite side.
Burst, not grow.
Like a cake suddenly expanding in an oven, Kent’s head almost tripled in size in an instant, holding open uncountable thumb-length fissures from his cheeks to his hair strands.
And eyeballs with unusually cloudy crystals emerged from all of those fissures.
These eyeballs had pupils of different colors such as amber gold, deep sea blue, and flaming red.
These colorful pupils were at first darting around, but in the end, they all locked onto Saul’s position.
What does a head with only eyes look like?
Anyway, Saul couldn’t help but take half a step back, and if he wasn’t afraid of startling the other party, he would have wanted to put a layer of protection on himself.
“Snap!”
A sudden crisp pop came from Saul’s side.
Saul looked back in shock, and actually found that the eyes of Morton, who was standing on his side, had exploded, as if he had just grown new eyeballs and exploded for a short period of time.
Saul once again turned back, in front of the body of Kent above the eyeballs are still staring at themselves, but not waiting for him to make a move, see those eyeballs suddenly shriveled, dried up and disappeared.
Kent’s body fell straight down, without his eyes, his entire head was like a beehive, looking very creepy.
“What are those eyes?” Saul muttered, “Morton, you go back first.”
Although Morton’s eyes were still bleeding, his body was actually made from corpses with a small amount of active containers, so the injuries on the surface of his body were not a big deal.
However, eyes inexplicably grew and exploded on his body, a trait that was the same as many contaminated people.
In order to prevent any contamination remaining on Morton’s body, Saul decided it would be better to have him go back to his journal for a full cleanup first.
So Morton falls to the ground and becomes dead in seconds.
Seemingly because of Kent’s death, the giant wood that had originally gone after the weird flowers suddenly shriveled up, and the magic power escaped in all directions, quickly turning into bits of starlight and disappearing.
Just now Kent was in Saul’s consciousness battlefield, thinking that he had maneuvered the giant wood to grow against Saul, but he didn’t know that the giant wood didn’t receive his signal at all, and from the beginning to the end, he was just chasing after the enemies outside.
If Kent hadn’t mistakenly thought that Saul could only last so long under the Giant Wood’s attack, he probably wouldn’t have overestimated Saul’s combat power, and wouldn’t have jumped right off the high platform.
He would have been able to hold out for a while longer that way.
Saul looked up as the large hole above his head spilled a few rays of sunlight, and a few wilted leaves drifted down the hole.
A figure then jumped down after him, and it turned out to be Agu.
Agu came in, saw the bodies of Morton and Kent on the ground and was shocked, rushed to Saul’s side.
“Master, are you alright?”
“I’m fine.” Although Saul was also surprised that he was fine being watched by those eyes, while Morton on the side exploded his eyeballs.
“Where did you just go?”
“Ann and I were just on the roof, watching out for those two plants to fight their way in and get in the way of the master.”
“How’s that flower out there doing now that the sorcery of the giant growing tree has failed?”
That flower was most likely Kent’s arrangement as well, and now that Kent was dead, the flower was afraid that it would follow in the giant wood’s footsteps.
“Originally the two plants were fighting happily. When the giant wood suddenly disappeared, I thought that flower would attack us, but it turned out that the flower, for some reason, suddenly got scared and escaped along the outer wall.”
Agu paused for a second and leaned in close to Sol and lowered his voice, “Anne followed that plant into the ground with it.”
Saul raised his eyes, “Underground?”
Agu nodded, “I placed a tracking sorcery on Ann.”
When the conscious body was closer to Sol, he could clearly sense their location, but at a greater distance, or when Sol’s attention was affected by other things, that perception would become blurred. “After the underground waterway incident before, I warned you not to enter the underground easily. Anne this time, however, took the initiative to chase the enemy into the underground …… Did you find out what exactly happened to her?”
“I noticed that ever since the last time Master and Ann returned from the countryside, she has been a bit silent.”
Sol immediately thought of that time when he was attacked in the countryside. It was very unusual for the underground root system to ignore itself and specifically target Ann for attack.
Now it seemed that it wasn’t a coincidence.
Just as Saul was contemplating, another group of sorcerers rushed into Saul’s room.
“Lord Saul.”
“Lord Saul.”
There were several full wizards, and a few advanced apprentices.
“My lord, the giant wood growth sorcery suddenly collapsed, we …… days ah, could that be Lord Kent?”
Several sorcerers were shocked and rushed to Kent’s body.
“Don’t go over there!” Sol scolded sternly.
“Wizard Kent has suffered from unknown contamination, you should not approach at will!”
Several sorcerer apprentices stopped, but one sorcerer didn’t listen to Saul and jumped right on Kent’s body.
He was also concerned about the contamination on Kent’s body and didn’t touch his head, instead casting a spell to inspect Kent’s body.
It was unknown if he was probing into the cause of Kent’s death.
At this time, the other sorcerer was full of heaviness and said to Saul in a respectful tone, “Sir Saul, Sorcerer Kent died unexpectedly, we need to check the cause of his death.”
Saul sneered and didn’t really stop the others from approaching Kent, “Do you guys think that I killed Kent?”
The other party quickly denied it, “That wouldn’t be the case, it’s just that Lord Kent has been in charge of the sweepers, if we don’t find out the cause of his death, I’m afraid that we won’t be able to hand over to the dean of the house ……”
“Woahhhhhhh!!!”
A shriek suddenly interrupted the wizard’s words, and the crowd looked over, stunned to find that the wizard who had been examining Kent’s body suddenly collapsed to the ground with a shriek.
His eyes then exploded with a pop.
But the other party is more serious than Morton, because after his eyes exploded, the upper half of his head also became a bloody mess.
A third level apprentice seemed to be close to the injured wizard and subconsciously went to treat him.
When the light of the sorcery that healed minor injuries enveloped the sorcerer’s face, the latter finally stopped crying out in pain.
However, when the light dispersed, the others sucked in a breath of cold air.
The healed sorcerer’s face …… actually grew a dozen pairs of eyes!
It was as if when his wounds were healed, muscle memory thought that he should have a dozen pairs of eyes on his face!
The apprentice who was treating the sorcerer was so startled that he hastily took three steps back, as if he was afraid that so many eyes would grow on his face as well.
Seeing this, Saul said in a seemingly helpless manner, ”The contamination encountered on Kent’s sorcerer is horrible and contagious. One of my subordinates also died, which is why you were not allowed to pass.”
The formal wizards standing opposite Saul were instantly a little embarrassed, they just had to examine Kent’s body, why were they not defending themselves against Saul.
Suddenly, the entire room shook violently, and the bottles and jars that were originally placed on the shelves instantly shattered all over the place.
“Earthquake?” A sorcerer immediately took out a dashboard and checked the parameters on it, “No, it shouldn’t be an earthquake.”
Saul also wasn’t sure what had happened, and immediately let go of his spiritual power, but there were no abnormal magic fluctuations around the room.
At this time this room shook again, and the amplitude was more violent than just now.
“It’s not an earthquake.” Saul saw the tall buildings outside along the window, “Only our house is shaking, there’s something underground!”
Saul and Agu looked at each other.
“Underground!”
I wanted to post both chapters together when they were finished, but the second chapter was late, so I’ll post the second chapter this afternoon
