Chapter 476: Invisible
Chapter 476 The Unseen
The reason why Saul was lying so comfortably was because he was also going to fall asleep.
As for what Shia on the opposite side would think, Saul didn’t care at all.
The moment Shia, who hadn’t engaged in natural sleep for a long time, closed his eyes, he quickly fell into a deep sleep.
Sol then closed his eyes as well.
Penny gently landed on top of Saul’s head, and then a pair of silver-colored skeleton wings with a metallic luster suddenly stretched out behind him.
With a gentle vibration of the wings, Saul’s consciousness seemed to have traveled through millions of worlds. When he opened his eyes again, he saw that it was pitch black in front of him.
He had been to many people’s dreams, even monsters’ dreams, most of which were light and strange, an aggregation of human hearts and desires.
But this dream was extremely dark, with no other objects around it, and no boundaries of the environment in sight.
It was as if the owner of the dream had no desires.
“Not here.” Saul withdrew his gaze, not deliberately exploring the dream realm.
The silver metal-like wings behind him shook violently, and the picture around him changed completely.
This time, Saul arrived in a dim and narrow room, bustling with people in front and behind him.
They were crammed into the room, pushing and shoving their way forward.
The end of the room was far, far away, and there was a small point of light there at the end that seemed to be an exit to the light.
Dreams are often illogical, but everyone’s dreams don’t just appear for no reason, out of nowhere.
Saul found a terrified Shia in the middle of the long march of people. His face was full of resistance, but he couldn’t stretch his limbs by the people around him, so he could only move forward with the crowd one small step at a time.
All the humanoids wanted to run to the distant point of light, only Shaya seemed to sense something and just wanted to stop where he was or even to go against the flow.
The entire room was empty, no semblance of decoration except for the walls, and there was no place to hide, only the interior of the crowd at Saul’s feet where there was still a possibility of hiding from the evil spirits.
Sol scrutinized the unreadable faces around Shia.
In the dark room, the outlines of those humanoid figures were also blurred. They appeared to have no consciousness of their own, and were simply walking toward the point of light at the extreme far end of the room.
Shia was among them like a falling leaf in a flood, even though he wouldn’t sink, he could only be carried away by the current powerlessly.
Yet Saul searched the entire crowd and found nothing threatening. Where was this so-called evil spirit from the dream?
Or was there no evil spirit and it was just a figment of the imagination of Shia, a victimized paranoid person?
Even though Saul felt nothing, Shia seemed to be growing more and more fearful.
Saul heard his breathing start to become heavy, supposedly struggling to break free from this dream.
The space of the dream world also became unstable, the walls that were once straight became wavy lines. The humanoids that were pushing and shoving around Shia also no longer looked like humans, but more like monsters of unspecified kinds.
“There’s nothing special about the room, it should be a space constructed based on Shia’s own perceptions, those humanoids are peculiar, but other than being scary looking, they didn’t harm Shia’s spirit body.”
It was hard to believe that the hallowed first-order sorcerer was so scared from nightmares that he hadn’t slept for two years?
The space of the dream vision shook more and more violently, and it was obvious that Shia was going to wake up soon.
“If we just wake up like this, then this time it’s a no-win situation. Shaya was frightened again in the dream and waking up may not agree to sleep again.”
“Or why don’t we just kill him as Shia wishes and snatch the Evolution Map.” Sol thought with amusement.
“Heh.” Perhaps it was because emotions are amplified in dreams, Saul heard himself laugh out loud.
“Heh.”
Perhaps it was the fact that emotions are amplified in the dream world, Saul heard himself laugh out loud.
“Heh.”
Maybe it was ……
Saul jerked forward, having just suddenly realized he had performed the same action, the same thought, nearly 3 times.
“This dream really isn’t right. Even if there’s no evil spirits, there’s something special hiding in it.” Despite the fact that the entire dream world was about to collapse, Saul kept moving around the place, in addition to trying to find out about that horrible existence, he also wanted to avoid getting himself caught in a loop without realizing it.
Saul came above Shia and tried to call out to him, “Shia!”
But the latter was still struggling, oblivious to Saul in front of him. “It’s not that he’s oblivious to me, it’s that he can’t even see me, can’t perceive me!” Saul was certain of this.
He realized that Shia couldn’t see his near self at the moment.
Then it was possible that he couldn’t see anything else near …… him either.
Saul closed his eyes and opened them again, and his whole body suddenly changed dramatically.
The muscles were like playdough, pressed and deformed by invisible hands, and in a few breaths it changed from a 15 year old to the appearance of a man in his early 30s.
In this state, Saul’s mental body vibrated at an extremely high frequency.
The body and spirit changed drastically at the same time, as if they had instantly become another person.
When he opened his eyes, he saw a pair of arms resting on either side of his neck.
The arms were thin and pale, hanging down powerlessly just like a patient.
At the same time, he suddenly felt a cold breath hitting his ear, as if it were traveling down his cochlea into his brain.
Saul slowly shifted his gaze to the right.
A pale-faced man was resting his head crookedly on his right shoulder.
The corners of the man’s face were upturned, almost grinning out of the corner of his eye.
Only at this moment did Saul realize that he had been carrying a person on his back.
And this person looked exactly like the fifteen-year-old wizard Saul.
Saul felt a little cold in his heart and felt a little funny.
When he watched Shia struggling in the human form in mid-air, he himself had already been entangled in another “human form”.
The reason why he didn’t realize that there was someone on him just now was because this “Saul” was in sync with his own frequency.
He saw Saul as a part of himself.
Saul’s hand snapped to the familiar face, squeezing the cheek to pull him from behind him to in front of him.
But just as he was about to do so, the face exploded with a bang, splattering Saul with red blood and white pulp.
But that s not all, Saul suddenly lowered his head with a feeling in his heart, and saw again that between his arms, at his fingers, on the side of his waist, between his thighs, and behind his ankles …… there was actually a face sticking out, a face of his own.
They were smiling, the corners of their mouths grinning almost to the corners of their eyes.
Saul kept his head down, motionless, as if frightened by the sudden appearance of his “self”.
The faces were staring at the mouths of all the hearts and faces, their skin trembling slightly, and as time went on they became more and more like Saul’s current form.
“They’re mimicking me.”
Saul suddenly laughed, he laughed so hard that the corners of his mouth almost split at the corners of his eyes.
“Then come and imitate me like this.”
His body suddenly softened, like steel melting into steel in an instant. Having lost its solid properties, his body began to take shape again, a tentacle with a ghastly sucker growing out of the liquid body that had no fixed form.
And those faces attached to Sol’s body became flustered in an instant, they lost their target and hesitated to become Sol’s current form.
But Saul didn’t give them a chance at all. He controlled the tentacles to curl up the faces attached to his body, and let the mouths with large sharp teeth underneath the suction cups gnaw to their heart’s content.
The sound of chewing rubber rang in his ears.
In the next second, the entire dream world collapsed.
When Saul opened his eyes, he saw Shia across the room getting up as fast as he could.
He stared intently at Saul, with both surprise and joy in his eyes.
“You actually succeeded in one go? I felt that the evil spirits hiding in my dreams were suddenly gone!”
