Chapter 469: Temporary teammates
Chapter 469 – Temporary Teammates
“Do you need several people to act together every time?”
Saul walked in and saw another skinny, skinny man in the corner of the room. The man was leaning against the corner, a blue-black color under his eyes as if he hadn’t slept properly for months.
“Of course, it’s for safety.” The woman stood up with a brace on her knees, a somewhat flirty smile on her face.
“We’re temporary teammates during this mission. Introduce yourself, Julie, a First Order Sorcerer, majoring in Light Attribute Sorcery.”
The female sorcerer who couldn’t tell her age but was very hot pointed at the other lean male sorcerer who hadn’t said anything and said, “He’s Shaya, also of the first order, majoring in the lightning attribute.”
Saul nodded and said to the two, “Saul ……”
“The youngest First Order sorcerer in the western region, Saul, majoring in the dark attribute, apprentice of Sorcerer Tower Lord Golza.” Julie clasped her hands to her chest, without seeing much force, she saw the scale of it raging, “Don’t worry, not only do we know your name, we’ve also seen your portrait, only ordinary people and a few unquestioning wizards don’t know.”
“Except that your appearance seems to have changed a bit as well.”
Julie was about the same height as Saul, and she leaned forward on her upper body as she spoke, as if to get a better look. As she drew closer, Saul felt a warmth from the other woman like the sun after a rainy day.
It was invigorating and relaxing.
“Still looks a little better in person.” Julie smiled and curved the corners of her eyes.
“If you want to get laid, hurry up and finish the job. I don’t want to spend time here.” Shia, who was hiding in the corner, seemed to look away and took a few steps toward the center of the room, but still a good distance away from Saul and Julie.
He practically skinned up against the wall and walked to the bedroom door, “Judging by the static reaction, it’s a newborn evil spirit, maybe even just a grudge.”
Shia only swept a glance and immediately looked at Saul and Julie, “I really don’t understand why this level of abnormal radiation requires three wizards to come over, isn’t this a waste of resources?”
Julie rolled her eyes, “When the situation is unclear, all three are called over. If there’s one less sorcerer, it would take at least three third level apprentices to top the quota of one official sorcerer.”
“No!” Shia suddenly let out a low voice, causing Saul, who hadn’t detected any danger, to suddenly tense up.
“You two are so familiar with each other, you must have known each other before. This must be a trap, a trap that you guys are targeting me! I’m quitting this mission!”
That Shia, as if she had suddenly gone mad, with her back next to the wall and her eyes fixed on Saul and Julie, quickly panned out of the room.
High-frequency footsteps then gradually moved away.
Saul was dumbfounded.
How did the other party come to this conclusion all of a sudden?
Julie slapped her forehead, sighed helplessly, and said to Saul, ”Shia is sick in the head, feeling all the time that someone is trying to harm his life. Especially when it comes to being around strangers. It’ll be better when you get more familiar with him.”
After saying that Julie also walked over to the bedroom door to take a look, “But his judgment is fine. Newborn evil spirits, not much danger.”
Julie turned back to Saul and raised an eyebrow, “It’s just the two of us now, how about it, dare you continue the hunt without outside help?”
Saul moved his wrists, “What do you dare?”
He always had his outside help with him anyway.
Julie’s brow stretched, “Very good, to my liking.”
The two began to search the room for the missing evil spirit. Julie closed her eyes and stood in the center of the bedroom lowering her head as if listening.
Saul, on the other hand, squinted his eyes and used his semi-immersive meditation to observe the signs in the room.
He saw a large amount of black smoke on both the bed and the floor.
The smoke resembled black smoke from combustion and was distinctly grainy.
This smoke was most heavily traced on the bed, where it seemed to have remained for a long time.
Saul followed the smoke step by step out of the bedroom and then outside the room.
“The place where the abnormal radiation appeared was in the room, but now it seems that after the evil spirits erupted, they gathered their breath fluctuations and left the room.”
It didn’t take long for Julie to come out of the room as well, walking straight towards the communal bathroom on this floor of the apartment.
Unlike Saul who traced along the traces on the floor, she seemed to know the final location first, and was instead unclear about what happened in between. The two ended up walking into the male washroom almost simultaneously.
Facing a somewhat rusty sink.
“Tsk tsk …… really.” Julie rubbed her nose, “Even though it’s turned into an evil spirit, it’s still in human form, can’t it take a more normal passage?”
Saul unscrewed the faucet and felt a slight fluctuation of magic power, followed by a clear stream of water gushing out.
“Have the people outside block the water pipes in this building. If this evil spirit is good at hiding, we might have to search for it one by one.”
“That’s as far as the strong emotions I can perceive go, and apparently the evil spirit was somehow satisfied after that, so the traces faded. Looks like we’ll just have to find it like you said ……” Julie bit her lip, clearly not liking this method of pursuit.
Just then, a sudden scream came from downstairs.
Saul and Julie looked at each other, and the two of them ran downstairs together.
The difference was that Julie ran straight towards the stairwell, her pair of big white legs so fast that they presented a virtual shadow.
Saul, on the other hand, directly drilled out the window in the corridor, ignoring the fact that he was located in a high-rise of more than twenty floors and directly jumped down.
He didn’t use a flight technique, but waited until he landed at the height of the source of the sound, and immediately let Algae swing him into the corresponding floor.
He currently arrived at the location just in time to see an old woman collapsed on the floor in the lavatory aside, moving out on her hands and knees with snot and tears running down her face.
Clearly terrified.
Inside the washroom, a faucet was unscrewed, and inside it was “snapping” and dropping a fluid like mush.
Saul went over and removed the faucet.
Flesh and mud clattered down a pool, but there were no souls mixed in.
Not even fragments.
And at that moment Julie arrived and looked into the pool, not pale and vomiting, but clearly not used to such a sight either.
When she saw Saul taking out a glass rod and stirring it without changing his face, the corner of her mouth finally couldn’t help but twitch, and in her heart she silently read, “Worthy of being from the Sorcerer’s Tower, perverted enough.”
Saul was not aware of Julie’s opinion of himself.
He hadn’t studied the human body much before in order to do his resurrection experiments, and he had also read a lot of other people’s experimental data.
Such a scenario could no longer even evoke a feeling of nausea for him.
Of course, disliking it was still disliking it, it was just that professional research allowed him to shield his personal preferences for the time being.
Two minutes later, Saul cleaned the glass rod, retrieved the storage unit, and walked outside the lavatory.
The old woman was still looking at the door, seemingly stunned.
Saul knelt down and cast a mental soothe on her.
Julie’s eyes flashed when she saw the scene.
The police force followed them to this floor, and they muttered “I can’t believe there’s still someone left” as they hurriedly carried the fainted old woman away.
“Did you find anything?” Julie stepped forward.
“The meat sludge is clean.” Saul said, “These pipes lead to something, do you know?”
Julie’s glowing white face dimmed slightly.
“Underground waterways.” She paused, her eyes emptying, “I should have changed my clothes and come.”
