Chapter 468 Cases

Chapter 468 The Case
“Sweeper …… has a terrible name!” Penny flew in a circle around the couch, quickly winding up Algae who was staring at it.

Agu, who was also out but to a different destination, was sitting on the couch across from Saul with a vigilant peace of mind at home.

“Both already needing to specifically organize personnel to clean up the evil spirits, it seems that the problems within the Archaeust and Baydynamic Academy are more serious than we thought.” Agu analyzed with a frown.

Ann’s eyes fluttered as if she had remembered something.

“It’s not a good thing for ordinary people to be exposed to sorcery materials and sorcery props for a long period of time.”

“I also asked Dean Pond about this matter.” Saul had been looking down at the information he had just gotten in his hand, “He said that there would be a partition between the places where ordinary people worked and the wizards to prevent the radiation of magical and spiritual power. Those working the most dangerous types of labor will then be given a potion at regular intervals every day.”

Saul raised his hand and shook the information in his hand, “Their anti-radiation potion is also sold to the public, and both wizards and ordinary people can buy it. But the potion formula is an absolute secret.”

Agu took the information that Saul handed over and realized that it was a list of goods. All kinds of items were listed on it.

Everything from small living utensils to large housing equipment.

“Archester still wants to continue to grow? They’ve already started to see evil spirits, and they still want to expand the city limits?”

“Enough profit will drive one to take risks.” Saul leaned back closer into the soft couch, “It’s not something we can control either.”

He looked to Agu, “What were the results of your expedition out today?”

Agu immediately put down the information and said seriously, “I took the blue pass and checked out some of the nearby factories, homes, and stores, and found that when entering and exiting a public area, you need to affix the pass to a waist-high wooden stake. There is a miniature sorcery spell in the center of the stake, and you need to pass the spell’s calibration to enter. This spell I have recorded.”

Agu took out a piece of paper from his pocket and spread it out. On it was none other than a spell formation recorded in ordinary ink.

“However, the key nodes of this spell formation were made to be masked and covered, so it cannot be completely reproduced.”

Saul recalled the list of goods he had just looked at, “There is no such spell formation for sale on the list, it should be the core secret of Archaeust City.”

An also lowered his head and came over, “The part that was covered is not big, from the periphery it should be the two functions of reading and recording.”

Morton and Herman who stayed in the diary were not idle either.

Only Herman was a bit slower to read and hadn’t found a chance to interject yet.

Morton had already offered his own insight.

[With the structure of this spell, the part that is being covered up won’t be too complicated, and at most there is only one function.]

Being surrounded by people was this good, Saul didn’t even need his body, several conscious bodies were going to solve the answer.

“Okay, in the next two days Agu, you and Anne will first try to analyze the internal structure of the pass. I’ll go to the Baidon Academy to continue looking for any suitable meditation methods and sorceries.”

Any new meditation ideas and sorcery would definitely need to be exchanged for magic crystals or resources.

Saul had a bit of money, but he couldn’t just sit on it. It was better to wait and see how much the sweeper’s quest that Dean Pound said would bring him.

If the quests were not much and the earnings were limited, then Saul would have to think of other ways to open source.

……

The ordinary people working at the Archaeust were actually working very hard.

Most of them had very full schedules and stayed at their posts from morning to night without being able to move.

Only a small number of people with special talents or lucky people are able to serve in more relaxed and free work.

John at the agency was one of them.

He had just recently completed a large order. A new wizard had rented an entire penthouse.

Although the commission received was not as good as the commission from directly renting a villa manor, it was still more money than ordinary people renting a suite, as well as several people sharing a suite.

It was just a pity that it was still the last kind of deal that was the most common in John’s working life.

Today he was very happy with his commission, humming a little tune as he headed to his girlfriend’s house.

The girlfriend was a newcomer who had only recently gotten a spot in the city, and was just the right time to be simple and good at cheating. Although her face was ordinary, her body was very good.

John was going to buy some good food for his girlfriend today, and then take the opportunity to take each other down completely.

However, when he stood on the street corner with two big bags of food and waited for his girlfriend to get off work, he was late in waiting for the other party.

Nearly an hour had passed since the appointed time, and the crowds of people returning home from work were thinning out to the point where they had basically disappeared.

The lights on the road became John’s only company. Even as a man in the throes of a passionate love affair, John’s face couldn’t help but grimace; he hadn’t gotten access to his girlfriend’s apartment yet, so he could only wait for someone outside.

“Wait another 10 minutes, if she doesn’t show up, I’m going back, I’ll eat these myself.” John glanced at the clock hanging outside the building across the street and kept clicking his heels on his right foot.

Finally the familiar figure appeared on the street corner, her long brown hair that used to be neatly combed and tied behind her head cascading down.

John’s girlfriend hung her head low as she walked slowly towards the apartment, both arms swaying slightly in front of her.

“Why are you home so late, did you forget we had a dinner date today? Do you have any idea how long I’ve been standing here carrying these two bags? I was surrounded by those people like a fool ……”

Halfway through his complaint, seeing his girlfriend brush past him without any reaction, John only felt a surge of anger “miso” from the bottom of his heart to the top of his head.

It almost set his hair on fire.

“Me!” He gritted his teeth and swallowed the anger as he thought of his big plans for the night.

By now his girlfriend had arrived at the door of the apartment and John rushed over to follow her closely.

“Did you get yelled at by your supervisor again today?” John changed his tone this time, making himself appear much gentler, “Don’t be sad, you are a newcomer after all, those props used by sorcerer lords, even just a part of the small parts are very complicated, it’s hard to get started quickly. Wait for the next time I’ll talk to your supervisor and ask him to take care of you more.”

Only then did the girlfriend stop and look back at John, the downturn in her eyes seemingly masked by other emotions.

Seeing that his reassurances were having an effect, John quickly smiled and held up the bag in his hand, “See how many goodies I got today? And your favorite mead.”

His girlfriend’s eyes flicked over the two bags and finally landed on John’s beaming face.

“Uh-huh.” She hummed softly, her mood not seeming to fully recover.

John didn’t notice this and couldn’t wait to follow his girlfriend into the apartment.

Take the elevator pod, go up the stairs, walk to the cramped rental, open the door, the two of them enter, close the door.

Three hours later it was completely dark.

Saul, who had been in his room working on his new sorcery, suddenly received word that an unusual radiation had appeared three blocks away from him and asked him to check it out.

When Saul arrived at the designated location, he found that it was an apartment building, and many people were already gathered under the apartment building.

Some of these people were horrified, some were numb, and they were looking at the entrance to the apartment that was shrouded in white light.

Immediately after Saul approached, a man wearing a blue and white uniform but without silver trim on the collar cuffs stepped forward.

“Sir, this place has been cordoned off by the police force, please stay away.”

Saul raised his hand a small blue and white brooch appeared in his palm.

There were some complicated runes on the brooch and Saul’s name was engraved in the very center.

This was Saul’s proof of identity as a Scavenger.

“Ah, Sorcerer-sama, please come in.”

This vigilante didn’t even dare to take a closer look and immediately sidestepped to make way for the passage.

Saul entered the apartment through the white translucent barrier, and was guided to the place of the incident by the guard members inside the apartment.

It was a very small apartment.

The main door was open, and the tables and chairs inside were a bit messy. Two huge bags were on the floor. The open opening revealed a few vegetables and fruits.

A brown bottle fell to the floor, the bottom shattered.

The odor of bad alcohol mixed with the faint scent of honey wafted through the air.

In this somewhat messy scene, a woman wearing a tight leather skirt and possessing long white waist-length wavy hair was squatting next to it, looking down at the broken bottle on the ground.

Her entire body’s skin was so white that it seemed to be glowing.

Hearing the sound of footsteps, the woman twisted her head to look over and looked Saul up and down, a few moments of interest showing in her eyes.

“Good, everyone is here, we can start tracking.”

Sorry for the lateness, running through the plot, next chapter around 10.
