Chapter 464.
Chapter 464: Borrowing Strength
From Kismet’s letter, it could be seen that he had prepared two gifts for Saul, a small favor when he was down and a big trouble when he was up.
Saul wondered if the other letter had been destroyed when he received the last one. But he had plenty of time now anyway, so he might as well try.
It wasn’t so much thinking about the little that Kismet had prepared – well, it was still a bit of curiosity – it was mostly to see what method Kismet had of delivering a letter to himself if he blended in incognito and to see what else he had set up in the city of Caucusto.
So, Sol spent the better part of a day and a half leaving Archaust and entering again in disguise.
Finally, he found Kismet’s special mark in a place where he registered his identity in line, and followed it to find a small gift left by the other party inside a tall building near the city walls.
Separately, a healing potion, a mental stabilization potion, and a new identity as a commoner.
And as soon as Saul had gotten his things, another man walked in with the key.
Saul immediately hid.
The other person looked dull and stiff, most likely someone who was also hypnotized by Kismet.
When he walked in and realized that the stuff was gone, he suddenly looked up and around the room, revealing an eerily arcing smile.
“Naughty.”
The man then returned to his stony expression, threw the key on the floor, turned and walked out.
“Was this man hypnotized into himself by Kismet as well?” Saul walked out from the corner and picked up the key on the floor.
With this series of actions, the diary had no warning, and it was basically certain that this was not Kismet’s trap.
Saul put away all the potions, and after noting down the identity information that Kismet had prepared, he continued to leave this spare green pass in the room.
The green pass was a pass for the normal permanent residents of this place.
He then left the city of Kaukoust to retrieve his first silver pass before re-entering the city in Marsh’s car.
The reason why he didn’t hide the pass on his body, as well as not putting the two passes together, was because he was worried that Archaust would set up a special mechanism on the pass that would reveal his whereabouts.
After re-entering the city of Archaeust, Saul followed his original plan of having Marsh drive to Baidong Academy.
He wanted to first take a look at those novelty sorcery props made by the Baidong Academy, and to find out if there were any ways to make money and magic crystals along the way.
Baidon Academy was located on a cliff in the southeast corner of Kaukoust City, with the agitated waves below.
From the Guidebook, it could be seen that the entire academy took up a third of the area of Archaust.
And between the academy and the city was a field of small villas and manors. If Saul had chosen a villa in the center of the agency in the first place, odds were that he would have lived in this area.
The west gate of Baidong Academy.
There were similarly people waiting outside the gate to enter. Some of these people were wearing the same robes as Saul.
They had different looks, some were anxious, some were agitated, and some were full of gloom.
When Sol’s carriage approached, many people looked over and sized up this later.
At that moment, a man followed the sorcerer apprentice wearing a blue and white uniform with a silver line on the edge of his clothes out.
Saul instantly recognized that it was none other than Captain Harry, whom he had met only a short while ago.
At this moment, Captain Harry was looking sad and depressed, as if he had met something difficult.
And Saul, who had just presented his silver pass, was warmly invited to enter by the Baidong wizard apprentice at the door.
Harry heard the commotion and swept his head up numbly, immediately recognizing Saul, whom he had met twice before.
His eyes rolled and with a sudden burst of jogging, he ran to the window of Saul’s carriage before it started.
“My lord, what a surprise to meet you here!” Harry took off his fedora and held it tightly in his hand.
Saul poked his head out and was quite happy to see his acquaintance, “Captain Harry, hello again.”
He saw the wizard’s apprentice coming up behind Harry and didn’t say hello. If Harry and the other party were acquaintances, they would have taken the initiative to introduce themselves. “What’s with the disembarkation? Is the airship not yet repaired?” Since Harry had no intention of introducing himself, Saul casually asked.
“Ah, thank you for your concern, it’s repaired and I came over to do some errands. Just happened to see you and came over to say hello.” Harry then took two measured steps back, “I know you’re rather busy, so I won’t bother you.”
The other man bent down and made a gesture of respect.
Saul smiled and nodded, reentering the compartment.
After waiting for the car to start up and go some distance, the mumbling voice of Marsh, who was driving, came in.
“My lord, I think that airboat captain is taking advantage of you.”
Saul smiled as he admired the scenery inside the Baidong Academy, “Sometimes, being used may not always be a bad thing.”
Behind Saul, Harry, who saw the car walking away, straightened his back and let out a light sigh, then smiled apologetically at the wizard apprentice behind him who hadn’t said a word, “I’m sorry my lord, I ran into a familiar lord and came over to say hello. I’ll be heading back now to prepare for the handover.”
The sorcerer apprentice pondered for a moment, then added, “Wait a moment.”
He then went to the place where the west gate entrance was registered, asked a few questions, and came back again.
“Your renewal materials are not qualified, but the difference is not much, go back and prepare a new one and come back tomorrow for review.”
Harry immediately revealed a surprised expression and bowed repeatedly to the wizard apprentice, “Thank you so much, thank you so much. I will definitely prepare more carefully this time!”
After saying that, Harry turned around and left the academy without waiting for the other party to urge him.
The other ordinary people waiting at the entrance looked at Harry’s brisk back, and many of them revealed an envious and jealous look.
On the other hand, Saul arrived at the exhibition hall of Baidong Academy according to the guidelines.
It was said to be an exhibition hall, but it was actually a marketplace for selling things.
There were just a few more people here, basically all wizards. There were also two people who looked to be official wizards.
Everyone else would respectfully avoid them by three meters.
Many of the sorcerers were accompanied by a beautiful girl who resembled a shopper, giving them a detailed introduction.
As soon as Saul entered by showing his pass, two people immediately walked up.
A handsome man and a beautiful woman.
“Good morning, Your Excellency, which one of us is required to serve you?” The woman spoke first with a smile.
The other man was smiling and watching Saul.
Saul felt something strange and couldn’t quite put his finger on it.
He casually said to the woman, “Then please make the introductions for me.”
The woman’s eyes immediately flashed with a hint of joy, and the other man was slightly disappointed but did not dwell on it, bowing respectfully and retreating.
The woman was also wearing a blue and white uniform, though it did not have the thin silver lines on it.
The style of clothing was also no longer a robe, but a more slender dress.
The length of the dress was short, of the white and floral variety.
“Are you all from Baidong Academy?” Saul didn’t rush to view the merchandise in the showroom, but instead sized up the women from head to toe.
He wasn’t wrong, the woman and the man just now were both ordinary people.
How could Baidong Academy let a group of ordinary people stay in a showroom full of countless props and have them serve wizards?
Did these ordinary people know that they would most likely not live long because of this?
