Chapter 451 – Blue Water City

Chapter 451 – Blue Water City

Blue Water City.

A very strange city.

It seemed to be very wealthy, and some of the buildings within the city were even comparable to the capital city of the Kemah Duchy.

But it also seemed to be poor, with no one living in most of the gorgeous villas.

Instead, the civilian area one street away was packed to the brim.

Based on economic income, its downgrading to a town wouldn’t be too much of a stretch.

However, as a harbor city that once had a splendid historical and cultural heritage, its owner preferred to maintain the taxes of the original town size rather than lower his status class in this regard.

In addition to the lord, there is also a group of once-rich people who have the ability to relocate, but still insist on holding on to this place.

But these rich people living in small three-story buildings and large gardens may have cleaner pockets than the poor living in thatched roofs.

Once again, the city’s lord, Macon, was enjoying a leisurely afternoon tea in the garden with his wizard friend.

His friend said he was a wizard, but in fact he was nothing more than a second level apprentice. The sorcery he knew was also pitifully small, and he didn’t know which sorcerer’s organization had kicked him out as an understudy.

The name of the second level apprentice is Kalon, this year is already over forty, every day lives with fear and trembling. Even the city lord, Macon, had a hard time inviting the other party out.

But since he had invited them out, it was only natural that they should communicate their feelings. After all, it was the last wizard who was willing to stay in Blue Water City for a long time.

McKnight picked up the small white porcelain teacup in front of him and took a sip, with a cozy face, looking at Caron with a slightly pleasing look.

“You have locked yourself in your room for half a month. The shallow water roses are all in bloom now, so if you don’t come out you’ll miss the blooms.”

Caron didn’t say anything, picking up the empty teacup in front of him and pouring in the solution he had brought with him, “I have to go out recently.”

McCann was stunned immediately pursued, “Where are you going? How long will you be gone?”

Kalon muttered, “I’ve run out of important materials for my experiments and need to go to the beach to gather some. By the way what’s the progress of the Black Water Snail’s recent collection? I need a thousand on my side.”

The corners of the city lord’s mouth twitched, that black water snail was one of the few money-making commodities they had left, and he didn’t realize that this Caron sorcerer would open his mouth and ask for 1,000 of them.

But there was no way, if you wanted to keep the other party, how could you do it without a little something of value?

“I’ll immediately have the butler go and count them.”

Calon nodded, “Then make it quick, I’m leaving tomorrow.”

This Karon wizard went out once or twice a year or so, and would return in as short as three days or as long as half a month.

But every time the other party went out, the Macken City Lord would be nervous, fearing that the other party would never return.

With a sorcerer – even if the other party was only a second level apprentice – he could solve many difficulties that ordinary people could not solve, and what was the difference between a city without a sorcerer and a village?
While City Lord Macken pondered whether to purchase something to enhance the Karon sorcerer’s feelings towards Bluewater City, a butler hurried in and bowed deeply to him from afar, a representation of an urgent matter.

Sitting across from City Lord Macon, Wizard Calon naturally saw this scene, he skillfully picked up the white porcelain cup, gently sipped the solution of unknown composition inside, stood up and said, “You get busy, I’ll go back.”

Although City Lord Macon regretted that the time he spent communicating with the other party this time was too short, he knew that without really big events, the butler would not dare to come in and disturb.

“What happened?” In order to show his trust in the Caron sorcerer, he asked without waiting for the other party to leave the small garden.

“The soldiers guarding the city sent word. A sorcerer lord has entered Blue Water City.”

“Oh?” The city lord stood up at once.

Even the Karon sorcerer who was heading out stopped in his tracks.

“The soldiers guarding the city were about to collect the entry tax from the other side.”

City Lord Macon almost jumped up when he heard this, “How dare he?”

The butler quickly said “He immediately returned the money after seeing a white mushroom moving on the head of the other cart driver.”

Even the driver of the car had such a bizarre behavior, then the one sitting in the car must be the sorcerer lord.

“What kind of mushroom was it?” Wizard Caron turned back again.

“It is said to look like just the most common white-skinned mushroom with a little bit of gray in the cap.” The steward turned to Calon in a hurry and bowed again.

“White-skinned mushrooms?” Calon pondered.

“Where did that wizard go now? Any idea what he came over for?”

“He asked the soldiers for an address, and I think he went that way.” Without waiting for the city lord or the sorcerer lord to pursue the question, the butler revealed that address, “It’s 16 Sea Shrimp Street, where most of the people living there are either foreigners or local poorer civilians. I’ve already asked people to find out who’s living there now.” The city lord nodded and nervously instructed, “Have the people not follow too closely, lest the other party feel arrogant.”

City Lord Macon then looked to Calon, “Lord Wizard, should we invite the other party over for tea?”

Calon thought for a moment and asked the butler, “Is there any special markings on that car?”

But before the butler could speak, he shook his own head, “Forget it, what can you guys tell? Invite that sorcerer lord respectfully. But if the other party refuses, don’t pester him, he should be at least a third level sorcerer apprentice.”

“Hiss–” the butler sucked in a breath of cold air.

City Lord McCann also wanted to, but he held back.

……

Saul, who was being talked about by the City Lord of Bluewater City and the resident wizard, had by now arrived at 16 Sea Shrimp Street in a carriage.

He naturally noticed that someone was falling far away from his carriage, but did not care.

When the car pulled up to the door, the pedestrians passing by all around were sticking their necks out to see that this double-decker carriage was already a travel tool for them to own only if they were quite affluent.

However, when the people saw the mushrooms that kept twisting on the head of the carriage driver, each one of them showed another horrified expression and immediately withdrew from the alley again.

Agu jumped off the carriage and went up to knock on the door.

Without knocking twice, he heard the sound of hurried running coming from inside.

A few breaths later, the door was slammed open, revealing a familiar face.

“Who are you …… looking for?” Xander had a look of nervous excitement that changed to frozen at the sight of Agu.

At that moment, Saul had just gotten off the carriage and said to Xander with a sideways glance, “Let’s go in and talk.”

After seeing Saul, Xander’s face turned back to joy, “Your Excellency, you’re here? Please come in!”

Saul nodded and stepped in.

The small courtyard of No. 16 Sea Shrimp Street was not big, kind of like a wall had been built from the other courtyards, separating out the space separately.

Saul’s carriage couldn’t enter the small courtyard, so it could only be parked outside, with the driver waiting in the car and Agu entering behind Saul.

They walked through the narrow small courtyard until they entered the mixed wood and stone hut with only two rooms.

Walking into the house and closing the door, the house was suddenly dark.

Xander was just about to fumble for an oil lamp when a soft light appeared overhead, completely illuminating the room.

Agu then stepped forward, holding a head-sized ball of water in his hands.

Oddly enough before this, Xander hadn’t noticed Agu holding anything at all.

Seeing this clear and slightly flooded ball of water with a horrible little fish with a human face swimming in it.

“Harm!” At first glance Xander was startled, especially since the little fish seemed to have seen Xander as well and “poof” half a face out of the sphere of water.

Although the fish quickly retracted, it still scared Xander so much that he nearly sat on the floor.

Agu lifted his chin, “What, you don’t recognize it?”

With that he raised his hand and tossed the water balloon into Xander’s arms.

The water balloon hit Xander’s chest and rolled down his shirt again, he subconsciously raised his hand to cup it.

His shirt was only slightly stained with water, while the water balloon was cold when he held it.

Once again, the horrible sphinx burrowed halfway out of its body and spat a stream of water at Xander.

Xander stared intently at the sphinx, the fear on his face slowly turning to shock.

“Honey, Midori?!”

Next chapter, night!

Can’t help it, too busy lately. Catching up in a hurry.
