Chapter 416 – The Pain of Not Being Cared For
Chapter 416 – The Pain of Not Being Cared For
Over the next few days, Saul also entered a full and busy life.
There were still some ingredient conflicts between the Delayed Rejection Potion and the Blue Water Spirit’s Potion, but Saul didn’t want to modify his potion.
The ingredients of his potions were all tried and tested over and over again, and some of the materials couldn’t even be measured the slightest bit wrong.
But it was also difficult to let a few mentors who had been full-fledged sorcerers for a long time change their programs at will.
At the very least, it wouldn’t be easy to save face.
For a sorcerer, it was fine if you didn’t look down on him, but if you showed that you didn’t look down on his research, then wait for a deadly feud.
Saul naturally wouldn’t be able to carry on with the results of the joint experiments of several mentors, so he logically asked for all the materials and research tips of the Blue Water Spirit, preparing to take it back for his own research.
Of course, this was only his most superficial excuse.
When he returned to the second storeroom with the Blue Water Vampire’s formula, he immediately compared it to Senior Byron’s Gray Matter Potion.
The two formulas were indeed very similar, but the choice of catalyst and neutralizer were worlds apart.
This resulted in Elder Byron’s potion being a bit weaker in efficacy, but the side effects were also much smaller.
Sol had also absorbed the soul energy inside the Gray Matter and Blue Water Spirit respectively, only to fail.
So it was basically certain that Yura’s sudden consumption of the Blue Water Spirit and Gray Matter when she was in an abnormal state wasn’t to replenish her soul energy.
Sol also tried to break down the Gray Matter and Blue Water Spirit in other ways. But their cores were both strong and fragile.
If they were forcibly decomposed, they would be turned into impurities and some evil thoughts.
It could not be determined whether it was its own composition or whether it had changed in quality.
Looking at the analysis in front of him, Saul leaned back and unconsciously turned the quill in his hand, “Could it be that what Yura is taking is the gray matter and the evil thoughts inside the blue water spirit? But what’s the use of her absorbing these as a spirit body?”
Saul couldn’t be sure if there were other ingredients in there that played a role, but he hadn’t realized it yet.
“If we really can’t find it, I’m afraid we’ll need to try something ourselves. The Blue Water Vampire is highly toxic, but you can try the Gray Matter Potion first. At the very least, Senior Byron has been taking it for most of the year, and his body hasn’t experienced any noticeable problems.”
The diary did not give any warning about Saul having to take the Gray Matter Potion.
Obviously there was no life-threatening danger for Saul to take it. There should be no long-term hidden problems either.
Today’s gray matter solution was basically all used up, so Saul decided to prepare a few more portions and then take it himself to feel the effects of the potion.
The raw materials in his hand were naturally insufficient, but anyway, he had already gotten approval to study the compatibility of the Blue Water Spirit and the Delayed Rejection Potion, so he could naturally go to Rum and Mentor Kaz to ask for it in name only.
The next day, Saul took advantage of the fact that the materials he asked for hadn’t been delivered yet, and first went to find Keri to continue her adhesive experiment.
The adhesive would also be used in the resurrection experiments, and Saul naturally needed to confirm that it had no potency conflict with his own Delayed Rejection Potion.
Therefore, he carried his own potion to find Keri.
Kerri was indeed in Mentor Guido’s lab at this time.
Instead of sitting on a chair, Keri was standing and bent over, her elbows resting on the desktop, her head down and staring intently at the notes on the table, itching to stare out the runes on them.
Saul walked into the lab holding a stack of materials and notes.
“Reading something?” As he passed behind Kori, he swept the notes on the table over Kori’s shoulder, realizing that it was still research on reducing the damage of adhesives to spirits.
“Hit a bottleneck?” Saul set his own things down on the lab table across from Kagome.
“More than that, I’ve been struck down by my mentor.”
“Blowback from what? The subject you’re working on now?”
Korrie lifted her head, her hard strands of hair swaying and banging against each other with a slight metallic echo.
Kagome grabbed a handful of her hair impatiently, her blonde hair turning back to soft.
“My mentor says I’m researching in the wrong direction, everyone is researching how to increase the stickiness of the adhesive, I’m the only one researching how to lessen the pain of the adhesive.”
She raised a hand to her cheek, “But aren’t we experimenting on Lady Tower Master? It’s not like it’s some other creature or unconscious material, don’t we need to consider the Lady’s feelings?”
“You can just look at the raw materials for these potions and imagine how painful it would be to take them, yet none of them care about how to alleviate the pain. My grandmother used to say that it would be better to die rather than live in such pain. At that time I didn’t understand what kind of pain my grandmother was enduring, but I now know exactly what kind of pain Mrs. Yura will be enduring when the experiments begin.”
Korie sighed with a thousand sighs, “Gee, it’s a shame no one cares.”
It was the first time Saul had ever seen Korrie this downcast, and he hastily curled his index finger and tapped the table, “Hey, hey, you’re not human, or am I not human?” Korrie let out a “pfft” laugh, suddenly remembering that she and Saul were just experimenting with pain relief.
Though Mentor Guido didn’t take her efforts seriously and was always trying to drag her into other experimental projects.
She finally stood up straight and lifted her little chin again, “I’m not sure if I’m human or not, and you sure as hell aren’t!”
Sol rolled her eyes.
This guy, cursing and not forgetting to piggyback on herself.
Sol laid her notes flat and decided to give Kori a little encouragement.
“Regarding conscious anesthesia, on my end ……”
“Kori, Mentor Guido is calling you over.”
A third level apprentice came over and called out to Korrie from three meters away.
Keri turned back with a “swish” and stared at the apprentice for two seconds, the latter actually took half a step back from her stare.
“You, get over there, I’m not lying to you.” That third level apprentice finished in a bit of panic, and hurriedly turned around and left.
Ke Li still kept staring at the other party’s back until he disappeared outside the laboratory door.
“It’s okay, can you even scare away a third level apprentice now?” Saul laughed.
Kagome turned back instantly again and stared at Saul with wide golden-bronze eyes.
Unwilling to show weakness, Sol immediately stared back.
The two battled like three year olds, glaring at each other for up to a minute.
In the end, it was Korrie who averted her eyes first and muttered, “Childish.”
She threw a pile of notes on the table at Saul.
“Keep an eye on them for me, last time someone tried to peek at my notes, I caught them in time and taught them a lesson.”
“That’s the one just now? Awesome ah, even a third level apprentice can be taught a lesson.” Sol wordlessly applauded.
“I’m also about to be a third level, okay? Besides, that third level apprentice just now is completely theoretical, his hands-on ability is not good, and he has hardly ever gone out of the tower to do outgoing quests after Mentor Guido. Besides, I have Alpha Toxin now, and people generally don’t dare to mess with me.”
There are quite a few theoretical apprentices in the wizard tower, but how can you mix to the third level apprentice is also a school bully level.
Unfortunately, such a theoretical schoolmaster was nothing when compared in front of Keri, a practical schoolmaster.
Ke Li finished, carrying a small satchel and ran away.
The speed was extremely fast, obviously because of the time delayed by just glaring at Saul.
Saul remembered that Guido was an acute person, and could only let out a secret sigh and continue his experiment.
Judging from the attitudes of the several mentors and Golza’s demeanor, the final resurrection experiment was approaching.
I wonder if the painful side effects of the adhesive can be diminished before then.
That’s why Guido wasn’t optimistic about Korie focusing on this subject, right?
Nonetheless, Saul was still serious about helping Korie with her research. After all, if it couldn’t be used here, it didn’t necessarily mean it couldn’t be used in the future.
Especially the hypnosis of the conscious body that he was responsible for, if it could be accomplished, wouldn’t it be able to do the hallucinogenic effect of those eyes in the mezzanine?
If it was more powerful, wouldn’t it be at the level of a nightmare butterfly?
After all, the Nightmare Butterfly was also a new magical creature created by a sorcerer!
However, just as Saul started his experiment, he saw Kerri running back in a flurry, with an unhappy face.
“What’s wrong?” He asked this for the second time today.
“My mentor asked about it, and Mrs. Yura said that she didn’t need to reduce the pain, that it would make her lose her acute perception of the potion. Then my mentor ordered me to terminate this side of the experiment and go to his place for some kind of soul toxin potency enhancement experiment.”
Korrie tensed her face and spoke expressionlessly, not sure if she was angry or disappointed.
