Chapter 402: Enquiring about a matter

Chapter 402: Inquiring About a Matter

Saul couldn’t figure out Billy’s attitude either.

He seemed to be vaguely showing Saul favor several times.

When there were only two escape slots in Mill Sail Town, he killed Angela without hesitation and left first after taking out a gray stone from her body.

In hindsight, Angela was the petri dish Billy had prepared for himself. But before he finally did it, Billy had no intention of giving up on Angela at all, and also paid a great price to protect her in many places.

It can be said that Billy ended up not wanting to clash with Saul before he just gave up on Angela.

Today, Billy even secretly warned Saul not to get involved in too many things to avoid encountering danger.

“Could it be that Billy and Rokai and the others are not all the way?” At night, Saul was lying alone on the single bed in the second storehouse, pondering the intention in Billy’s words, “But it could also be a deliberate attempt to show me favor to gain my trust?”

Saul was inwardly wary of Billy, no matter how Billy showed his goodwill, he could never really trust the other party.

“Brother Saul, are you ready?”

Penny vibrated her silver wings and landed on Saul’s forehead.

They were going to start their dream cruise today in the second vault.

The first few days Saul had been cruising the dormitory next door to Senior Byron, hoping to find Senior Byron …… or his spirit because of his proximity to where he had his accident.

But after a few days, he had completely failed to find a spirit body that was consistent with Senior Byron’s spiritual power fluctuations. And there was almost no repetition of the dreams he entered each time.

This made Saul realize that the dream world might not be as affected by the distance of reality as he originally thought.

So today, he decided to start dreaming in a different place, and if that didn’t work, he would go to some more special place.

Go to some place with a stronger aura of spirituality.

That’s what happens when you’re looking for someone without a clue, you’re not even sure if you’re looking in the right direction.

But for now it was all Saul could do.

Even if he turned to the tower master for help, the other party was afraid that there was nothing he could do.

Even if Golza could really observe the movements of the entire tower through the fog people in the wizard tower, I’m afraid that he wouldn’t be able to detect spirits through them.

Moreover, he seemed to be in a very bad physical state at the moment, and he simply wouldn’t expend his spiritual energy for an apprentice who was never attentive.

A bad one would also expose the fact that Byron might still be alive.

Of course, Saul also had a hidden worry in the back of his mind that the person who killed Byron could actually be Golza.

This was because Golza appeared to understand the cause and structure of the Blue Water Spirit and Gray Matter when he mentioned them.

“Begin.”

Throwing the uneasiness in his heart aside for now, Sol closed his eyes.

Opening his eyes again, he was still lying on the single bed in the second storage room.

But when Saul sat up, there was already an additional pair of silver-colored wings with a metallic luster behind his back.

Saul stood up, and his wings flapped rapidly.

The scene in front of him was immediately stretched out and passed behind him, like a mass of colored clay that had been stretched out infinitely.

In the blink of an eye, Saul had already arrived in a pitch-black space.

“It’s so quiet here.”

Most of the dream world was soundless, but when Saul came to this pitch-black dream, he still felt an unspeakable silence.

It was dark here, without any light source.

Saul stretched out his hand and could clearly see his body.

But it wasn’t because he was glowing, it was because in his dreams he knew his existence as well as his form.

But other than his own body, Saul couldn’t see anything else here.

Even though he couldn’t see anything, Saul could still sense that this was a very complex dream.

His spiritual power radiated out, and he could feel the presence of many stone-like spiritual fragments.

“It’s too fragmented. A person, even a resentful spirit, shouldn’t have such a shattered consciousness.”

Dreams could reflect many things; they were illusory and real.

But this time, the first dream was very wrong.

“Could it be that I’ve entered the dream world of an evil spirit? Although Golza said that there would be no evil spirits in the Wizard’s Tower, there are no absolutes in this world, so maybe there is a leak?”

Despite being unsure of what kind of existence this was, Saul knew that it was not Elder Byron’s dream.

He looked around the dark surroundings warily and decided to flap his wings and leave this strange and unknown place.

However, just before his conscious mind formed a command to move, a voice suddenly interrupted him.

Nope!
It was a bunch of cacophonous voices ringing in Saul’s ears, thin and cumbersome, instantly making Saul feel that his brain had become drowsy. “Someone’s coming in again.”

“Why is someone always coming in lately?”

“Let’s eat him as punishment!”

“Hee hee hee hee hee ……”

“Bunch of idiots, there’s no way you can eat him!”

“Why?”

“Because we’re dreaming now!”

“Oh, so we’re dreaming, hehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehehe ……”

“Then we can dream about food too!”

“Someone turn the lights on?”

“Idiot you don’t have eyes, what’s the point of turning on the lights?”

“Let me take a lick of what kind of delicious soul it is~”

Sol endured his dizziness and stared around warily.

He should have left immediately before the danger came, but for some reason, what these people were talking about felt familiar to him.

He hadn’t heard these conversations before, he just had a feeling as if …… had experienced something similar.

Subsequently, Saul sensed that a small compact soul fragment was approaching him, and he didn’t feel any danger.

Instead, he felt that the guy approaching him should be very weak.

It was just quite unreasonable to judge by feeling alone.

Immediately after that, Saul felt something that seemed to lick the back of his hand.

There was no drool left behind, there was just a stagnant sensation from a coarse-grained tongue.

Before Saul could react in any other way, the guy who had licked him suddenly screamed.

“Ah… ah… ah… the Daemon King is at it again !!!!!”

The air was briefly quiet for a second.

Then even more noisy and ear-piercing screams rang out all around.

“Ah !!!! Help! The big mouth monster is coming!”

“Ah!!! I don’t want to be eaten ah! I don’t want to be eaten by the octopus monster!”

“Oooooooooooh, today is a nightmare! I need to wake up! Hurry up! Immediately! Immediately!”

Accompanying these piercing sounds were the soul fragments that were gradually moving away from the surrounding area.

Only the soul fragment that had just licked Saul was still trembling in place.

One could feel how scared it was from its trembling spiritual power fluctuations!
Saul slowly blinked his eyes.

He suddenly knew which guy’s dream he had entered.

Or which guys’.

These raucous and noisy guys were probably the same mouthy grumps that had once pulled the disembodied soul of him into a candle pipe, ready to be split up and eaten.

Painfully bitten by those mouths, Saul changed his spiritual form and transformed into a large octopus, chasing after the mouths that bit him and swallowing them one by one into his body!

In the end, probably because the mouths were really afraid of him, they even pushed him out of the trash can in Mentor Kaz’s lab.

“Is there any mistake, it was clearly you guys who attacked me first in the first place! And you call me a Daemon King? Octopus Monster?”

To confirm his suspicions, Saul reached his hand to the spiteful fragment that was too scared to think of running and squeezed the other side.

Immediately, he felt that he had squeezed something soft and fleshy.

Thinking that it might be a mouth, he brought his other hand up, cupped what was probably the corner of his mouth, and shook it like a thermometer.

“Oooooooooh, don’t eat me …… vomit …… faint faint faint ……”

Sol was surprised and amused.

The fragments of the grievous spirits that were chaotic and disorganized in the real world were surprisingly one and the same and able to think and singularly stupid in the dream.

He withdrew his hand and brought the mouth closer to his own.

“Inquire about something, eat you if you don’t know, please.”
