Chapter 389 – The Omitted Genius
Chapter 389 – The Omitted Genius
The alternate plan in Golza’s mouth made Sol’s whole body tense up, but the other party didn’t seem to have the intention of making it clear.
He played with the blue water pokémon in his hand, letting the little ball bounce around between his fingers like a toy.
“Have you seen the elf?” He suddenly changed the subject.
Sol’s voice was still a little stiff from the ice, “I …… don’t know if what I’ve seen counts as an elf.”
Golza said, “If you look at it according to the definition of the original species division, it shouldn’t count. But since there are no longer any pure-blooded elves in this world, there’s no problem calling them new elves.”
He looked down slightly, as if looking at his hand, and as if looking at something else through his pink bandaged hand.
“So that question was asked for us a long time ago. The soul, it’s true, can’t exist completely independently of the body.”
Thor didn’t chime in, he was just a little curious, “Do you know what happened to the elf?”
Didn’t he say he didn’t know before?
“Half-elf, he mentioned a few things to me before he went in, the rest of the information is my guess.” Gortha blinked at Thor, “My guess is that the elves, who are naturally mentally powerful, chose to throw off the burden of their physical bodies for some reason. To do so, they carved out a backyard for themselves. Unfortunately, this act of exploration angered the underlying rules of a certain being, and so they were sent to a back garden of their own making, which they subsequently found turned into an abyssal prison.”
“I guessed, right?”
Golza was asking Sol now.
Saul was also interested in matching Gortha’s answer to see if what he was thinking was agreeable.
“The elf …… decided to abandon his physical body and hide in a world made entirely of consciousness after he saw the huge depression on the backside of the world. This is my guess based on what I saw in the valley.”
Who would have thought that Golza on the opposite side frowned a little.
It was specifically manifested as the bandage on his brow wrinkling.
“The back of the world …… dented ……” Golza fell into a deep thought.
He looked as if it was the first time he had ever heard of a “dent”.
Didn’t he say that the tower master came from an extremely powerful sorcerer family from another continent?
Why didn’t he know about the depression at the back of the world?
“Could …… it be because of this?” Golza whispered to himself.
When he saw the puzzled gaze cast by Sol, he suddenly narrowed his expression again and did not say anything more about the thinking about the depression.
“In that case, it seems that the body is actually our natural locator. Although it is not as powerful as the locator we choose later in life, it is safe and stable …… Unfortunately, many people just use it as a liability.”
Gortha’s body leaned back, leaning comfortably on the soft cushions, his elbows resting just above Mark’s head.
“Saul, it’s still great that you were able to complete two sorcerous body transformations without harming yourself.”
In the face of the tower master’s praise, Saul could only bow his head and accept it sheepishly.
Unlike Senior Byron, his transformation still relied more on external forces.
In Saul’s opinion, Senior Byron, who was able to turn his body into a locator with his own efforts, was the true genius.
It was only because the degree of remodeling was too great that it caused Senior Byron to be promoted to a third level apprentice only when he was nearly 30 years old.
He must go back and praise him properly.
Between his thoughts, Saul suddenly noticed the red-eyed puppet on his waist.
At this moment, both of the puppet’s eyes were already two empty holes.
It was then that Saul remembered that the puppet’s eyes seemed to have blown up while observing the elf world.
He hastily removed the puppet from his waist and handed it to Golza, “Mentor, this puppet’s eyes are shattered.”
Wouldn’t ask himself to pay for it, would he?
Thor said carefully, “It seems that the elf once tried to influence my spirit, and as a result, the puppet blocked part of the spiritual attack.”
Actually, more of it was blocked by the diary.
However, since Golza didn’t know exactly how powerful a mental attack the elf had unleashed anyway, it would be better to give most of the credit to the puppet.
Who knew that upon seeing the puppet, Golza suddenly wore an amused and distressed expression – don’t ask Sol how he could tell.
“Oops, so thoroughly broken. Now whoever left the spirit mark on it is going to suffer.”
“Spirit markings?” Saul asked rhetorically.
Anyway, listening to Golza’s tone, it was clear that the person who left the mark was definitely not him.
“It’s Yura’s.” Golza immediately revealed the answer, “She’s very good at recognizing malicious mental attacks, and this puppet was sort of built with her abilities.”
After a pause, he added, “It’s okay, I sent her back to the Wizard’s Tower yesterday. She’s always safe in the tower.”
…… An hour ago, the Wizard’s Tower.
“I heard from Kaz that you found the Blue Water Spirit as well?”
Inside the dimly lit room, Mentor Rum, sitting in the corner, was looking at Byron, who had entered his room for the first time.
Byron stood five meters away from Rum’s head, his head lowered and he was careful not to let the meat slime around his feet run onto his shoes.
“Uh-huh.” As if he didn’t think it was a good idea to answer his mentor’s question with a single word, Byron’s throat cracked open into a mouth, “I named it Gray Matter.”
“Huh,” Rum couldn’t help but let out a chuckle, “Kazi must have spat at you for naming it that, huh?”
Byron actually thought that Gray Matter sounded much better than some blue water pokémon, but he was just a bit of a straight shooter, not stupid.
“Hmm.”
Rum couldn’t help but smile again.
Now when he laughed, he didn’t let the fat on his body shake back and forth.
Like the deepest sea, the rapids below the surface would not affect the calmness of the sea.
“Of course being able to spot it is nothing, what really surprised me was the formula you submitted up for potion preparation. The thought process here is very interesting, and judging from your state, he has already been verified, hasn’t he?”
Byron nodded, but he didn’t ask why the potion formula he had submitted to Mentor Kaz for promotion materials had fallen into Mentor Rum’s hands.
“Tell me about your application idea.”
Byron didn’t open his mouth immediately this time.
Rum wasn’t angry either and smiled, “I won’t let you speak for nothing. As long as your thought process is fine, I’ll push for you to join the Resurrection Experiment when the Tower Master returns. At that time, whatever materials you want will be a matter of words.”
Byron’s eyes lit up, “Is Saul in this experiment too?”
Rum nodded, “Yes. If you also want to join this experiment conducted by the tower master, then show me your knowledge properly.”
Byron perked up and put his hand in his mouth, pulling a thick volume of notes out from under his skin.
The notes, long thicker than the one that had been credited to Thor in the first place, recorded his experiments and conjectures against the gray matter.
And Saul’s book was a collated version of the essentials.
As Byron was just about to begin his performance, a thick black shadow came through the doorway of Tutor Rum.
Yura never knocked.
Rum cocked his head, half his face squeezed into his fat, and gave a smile.
“Just a moment, we have a visitor.”
The black as a paper cutout figure slowly walked in.
“I heard that someone has discovered the Blue Water Spirit as well?”
“Yes, it seems to be a genius that we overlooked.” Rum pointed at Byron in front of him.
He then introduced Byron, “This is the person we are going to resurrect, and the tower master’s wife, you can call her Lady Yura.”
Byron curtsied to Yura with an expressionless face.
Yura’s head was turned sideways, her expression completely invisible, “That’s wonderful.”
She sat down leisurely on one of the lab tables and crossed her legs like a little girl.
“Golza is taking this experiment very seriously, and it’s estimated that formal testing will begin within six months.” Yura reached over and raked at Rum’s lab table, locating a small, transparent orb with a dizzying cloud of mist inside, “Let me sit in on this, do you have any new ideas.”
Yura tossed the blue water pokémon in her hand one at a time.
Byron looked at the small orb in Mrs. Yura’s hand, thought for a moment, and pulled another small pocket from his own coat pocket.
“This is blue water pokémon in its raw state, I call it gray matter. Take a look at this one, it’s more in line with my research report.”
After saying that, he took out two Gray Matters from the small pocket and handed one over to Mrs. Yura and Mentor Rum.
