Chapter 385: The Elven World
Chapter 385 The Elf World
Penny isn’t sure what the depression on the back of the planet is, and Saul opens his journal to ask the other Consciousnesses.
But even Agu, who was the most knowledgeable, never knew the depression existed.
“Could it be that someone is deliberately controlling the information about the depression?” Saul stroked his chin in thought, “Sure enough, information that can make the Elf clan extinct isn’t that simple.”
He asked, “So what did the Elf King do afterward?”
Penny said, “The elves told me that the Elf King opened a program involving the entire clan after he ascended the throne.”
“Oh?” Sol thought he was about to hear the point.
“But this plan …… you’d better come here to see it yourself.” Penny flew up again and circled around in front of Sol before landing on the woven picture on the back of the pure white throne.
And the moment the silver butterfly landed on the painting, it disappeared.
At the same time, another silver dot was added to the woven painting.
“Am I going to enter this painting as well?” Saul raised his hand and reached his fingertips towards the woven painting, during which the diary had been unresponsive.
His fingertips touched the picture, but nothing happened.
At that moment, Penny’s voice continued to ring in Saul’s head.
“Brother Saul, did you know that the Nightmare Butterfly is, in fact, a product created by a powerful sorcerer.”
Unexpectedly, Penny actually talked about another matter.
“That great sorcerer who made us is actually a half-elf. He was very, very powerful. But after the elf clan all disappeared in the world, he didn’t last long and died as well.”
“Or rather, not being tolerated by this world, destroyed.”
“Brother Sol, at that time, I didn’t know why my father died. But after I saw these poor elves today, I finally understood ……”
“This world, does not allow conscious bodies to exist independently!”
“World? Doesn’t allow consciousness to exist independently?”
Hearing this sentence, Saul suddenly felt a trance, and he had to hold the back of his chair with his hand to avoid falling.
He blinked and shook his head again, suddenly remembering a question that Mentor Gortha had asked him.
“Can the soul, or can it not, exist on its own?”
“Am I, today, about to hear the answer directly?”
Penny didn’t seem to notice Saul’s dissimilarity, and was still somewhat excited about her discovery.
“The underlying logic of our world seems to be the combination of consciousness and body. Even if one can briefly leave the body, one can never sever the connection with the body. That’s why no one has ever been able to achieve independent existence of the conscious body. They die quickly from contamination no matter how close they come to succeeding.”
Listening to Penny’s words, Saul began to ponder, “If the body of consciousness cannot exist independently, then what is the body of consciousness in the diary? It should be that with the attachment of the diary, they wouldn’t be considered completely independent individuals.”
There’s also Lady Yura, although she’s also a spirit body, according to Kongsa’s words, that silhouette of hers is actually a body, and even so, Golza still needs to create a more stable vessel for her to maintain her life.”
Penny understood that Thor would need some time to think after hearing her words, so she didn’t immediately open her mouth to disturb him.
It took a few minutes before Penny continued, “Brother Saul, please put your stitches in the woven painting.”
“Sew?” Saul subconsciously pressed his wrist, “You are asking me to observe the world of elves through the seam?”
The seam was a very special curse, it had no killing power or defense, it could only be used for hiding, or peeking into a picture with only sunlight and grass.
The hiding ability was great, but the peeking ability really didn’t make much sense.
No matter what time or place Saul looked at the picture in the slit, it was the same sunshine and grass.
Unexpectedly today, Penny let Saul use the observation ability of the seam here.
Could this all be a coincidence?
“Penny, why do you know that Seam can observe the world of elves?”
“…… Because, that Seed of Evil Thoughts was grown into a Seam through the combined efforts of me and Elf Whisper.” Penny’s voice was a bit cautious, afraid that Saul would get angry.
Although Saul didn’t expect that Penny would still have this matter to hide from him, compared to being angry, he was more amazed in his heart. “At that time, the Elven Whisper was about to wither, and you were still a sealed egg, how did you manage to transform the seam?”
“It is true that I was in a state of uninherited consciousness at that time, but I also had instincts, and you were affected by my instincts back then.”
“…… Yeah, keep dreaming about dead sorcerer apprentices, make me think I’m sleepwalking to kill someone.” Saul couldn’t help but spit out a comment.
Penny’s voice then took on a hint of apology, “That, anyway, it was the elf whisper that dominated. Because it wanted to show you the elf’s current situation, it was probably hoping for your help.”
“Asking for my help? Asking me, a third level sorcerer apprentice, to save a group of races that have up to fourth level? The elves aren’t crazy, are they? Oh, they have indeed gone mad.”
Almost everything related to elves nowadays was tinted with the color of madness, and to say that elves were crazy was not an exaggeration at all.
“I understand, brother Saul, but although elves have become synonymous with madness, but you don’t have to be afraid, brother Saul, don’t you have ……”
Penny was referring to the diary.
Saul, however, shook his head, if the diary really helped him unconditionally, he definitely dared to mess with even a fourth-ranked sorcerer.
But the diary didn’t.
The more Saul grew, the more he could understand the power of the diary, and the more he could feel the overwhelming power on it.
But such power refused to be transformed into real combat power, and only served as a signpost.
What to do still relies on Saul’s own choice.
What to do, or rely on Saul’s own steps.
“Ah, they’re coming over. Brother Saul, take a look for yourself, after you’ve seen them, you’ll be able to make a better choice.”
Saul didn’t hesitate, he directly uncovered the curse on his wrist and “snapped” it onto the woven painting on the back of the pure white throne chair.
“It’s from here, isn’t it?”
“Uh …… yes.” Penny hadn’t expected Sol to be so dry, and it froze itself in turn.
“The diary doesn’t have a warning to look at. And I’d like to know exactly why elves are so contaminated.”
Saul took a deep breath and pressed his hands to either side of the slit, attaching himself and bringing his left eye closer.
The world inside the slit was finally no longer a sunny meadow.
He saw a world of light.
He seemed to see a multitude of colors beyond his perception.
These colors twisted and shifted, never standing still. One second it was a bright red, the next a rich blue.
Saul thought he was seeing images, but the next second they were lines again.
The world in the gap didn’t seem to exist in material form. All the colors changed without pattern.
Just as Saul wondered what knowledge he could gain from these colors, he suddenly saw a few white silhouettes in an unknown distance.
Those silhouettes had absolutely nothing to do with the shape of a human being, nor could they be described as resembling any kind of animal; it seemed to be just an uninhibited thought, like a child’s random scribbling.
But they were approaching Sol, albeit with some difficulty, like carp swimming against the current, but they were still advancing.
In the blink of an eye the white silhouettes disappeared, and then in another flash they were close.
“Is this the world where …… only consciousness exists?” Sol thought silently.
Just then he picked up a signal.
Not by seeing, not by hearing, not by smelling, not by tasting.
It was a signal that appeared suddenly in his mind.
“Want to go back.”
