Chapter 357: Entering the Valley
Chapter 357: Entering the Valley
Morton raised his hand to stop Herman, who was about to go over to check it out, while he himself slowly walked towards the place where the silhouette appeared.
The dirt and gravel on the ground began to jump, as if some force was pulling them.
Saul swept his head down, this was the first time he had seen Morton perform sorcery. Although he had once been contaminated and his body’s magic value was now limited, he was still the strongest of the four consciousnesses in terms of pure combat strength.
At a distance of three meters from the figure, Morton stopped. At this time, the soil under his feet was already churning like waves.
“Don’t attack yet, let’s see what it is.” Saul reminded him from behind.
Morton nodded slightly, and then the soil in front of his feet literally parted to the left and right like waves.
And the plants rooted above the soil also moved rapidly to the left and right with this force.
Morton didn’t move closer, but gradually separated the plants that were in front of the figure.
The sunlight poured down overhead, touching the corners that had long been hidden in darkness.
Saul squinted his eyes as he finally got a good look at the figure on the opposite side of the room.
His pupils then widened slightly again.
“Mark?”
After the branches of the tree moved to the sides due to the tumbling of the soil, Saul realized that the person who was motionless behind him was actually Mark, who hadn’t made an appearance for a long, long time.
The other party used to be the resident senior of Kaz Labs, in charge of cleaning and organizing. But then he seemed to be out a lot for promotion, and the head of the lab was fixed to Angela after a few shifts, and again became a precarious position after Angela left after Billy – Saul encountered a different person every time he went.
Mark didn’t respond to Saul at first; he was still standing there, facing southeast.
Saul knew that that was the direction of the Wizard’s Tower.
Morton turned back, now he had to wait for Saul to decide whether to attack next, or test the waters.
Saul took two steps forward, and when he was less than five meters away from Mark, the man who stood fixedly and suspiciously like a statue suddenly turned his neck and looked over.
“I was waiting for you.” Mark spoke.
As soon as the other party moved, all the conscious bodies went on alert.
The man had just moved and there was no visible rippling of muscles due to breathing or heartbeat.
It was like a dead person.
But when he turned his head to look at Saul, all the cells in his body came to life in an instant.
“Are you Mark?” Saul narrowed his eyes and didn’t see an abnormal spirit body on the other party.
“It’s me, I’ve come to get you. You can’t get into the valley by yourself.” Mark replied calmly.
There was no change of emotion on his face, and he was more of a vessel than the four experiments around Saul.
“Then who am I?” Sol, however, suddenly asked this question.
Mark closed his mouth in silence for a moment, his expression still dead.
After a moment passed, his pale lips opened, “Saul.”
“How do I prove you’re here to pick me up?” The corners of Saul’s mouth turned up, “I don’t go with random strangers.”
Mark wasn’t annoyed either, he raised his right hand and a mouth split open in his palm, the mouth opened to reveal a scarlet tongue.
The tongue stuck out, the tip curled slightly, and there seemed to be something transparent in the center, invisible, but tight against the tongue, preventing it from closing.
Cryptocrystalline!
“Brother Sol! Brother Saul~”
Penny began to whisper again.
“Take it easy.” After calming the little butterfly, Saul then walked forward.
All four Consciousnesses were staring intently at the Mark across the room, but looking at their movements, they didn’t feel any danger or threat.
“Looks like Kongsa called you up as well, is there anyone else in the valley? So I can be prepared.”
Mark’s head was slowly turning as Sol approached, but his body didn’t move an inch.
When Saul stepped to his side, his head twisted ninety degrees as well. Muscles tightened to the limit, veins straining.
But Mark’s expression remained calm to the point of indifference.
“There’s Mark, Dorothy …… Monroe ……”
Mark’s mouth spat out a single name.
Saul began to frown after hearing the first one, and his frown tightened as the names multiplied.
It wasn’t until he heard a name that he jerked Mark to a halt.
“Wait a minute! Did you say Monroe?”
Mark stopped mechanically pronouncing the name and paused to look fixedly at Saul, then said, “Yes, Monroe.”
Monroe?
Monroe was even in there?
“I’m talking about who’s in the valley, not who’s been in the valley.”
“Yes, Monroe, in the valley.” Monroe had the cryptocrystalline mass in his hand, and it was indeed possible that he had entered the elven valley together with Kong Sha. However, he had clearly returned to the Sorcerer’s Tower, and had even sent a message to Sol on Kongsa’s behalf.
Yet Mark said that the other party was in the valley!
Saul again thought that the first thing Mark pronounced was his own name, and asked again with a sullen face, “Is Mark …… also in the valley?”
“Yes, Mark, also in the valley.” Mark answered.
Morton also sensed that something was wrong, he sidestepped in front of Saul and whispered, “Master, this man is not right.”
Saul knew that Morton meant that he didn’t want to let himself follow Mark.
But now ……
Saul looked around, the forest in front of him was lush, but it didn’t block too much of his vision.
The forest extended all the way to the mountains in the distance and did not see the terrain of the valley.
The only valley was also the Drooping Hand Valley to the east.
“The address Kongsha left me is here, I’m afraid we can’t get in without the key if we don’t have someone else to lead the way.”
“Yeah, yeah.” Penny was most enthusiastic on the sidelines.
She was the most thirsty for the Hidden Crystal Mass.
Just then, Mark suddenly spoke again.
“…… Sol is also in the valley.”
The several conscious bodies all looked at Saul in unison, finding it somewhat amusing and bizarre.
“I’m in the valley too?” He subconsciously asked Mark back.
Suddenly, a strong sense of weightlessness appeared, and then all of them felt that they were landing at a rapid speed.
Or falling.
Everyone looked around and under their feet.
Saul’s first reaction was to take off.
But even though he was already flying in mid-air, the intense weightlessness still hadn’t lessened in the slightest.
He saw that the other consciousnesses were also showing some expressions of panic.
Yet the scenery around them hadn’t changed in the slightest, and Saul could still see dust fluttering in the sunlight and leaves disturbed by the wind.
“Do you guys feel like you’re falling?”
“Yes, master!” Several people answered.
Especially Herman, whose figure was swaying slightly, seemingly on the verge of not being able to maintain a standing position in his rapid descent.
Saul tried to close his eyes as the feeling of weightlessness became clearer and clearer. It was as if he were staying in mid-air, his brain and eardrums suggesting that he was accelerating his descent.
But when he opened his eyes, heh, before him was simply synonymous with years of peace and quiet.
“Is my brain lying to me, or is there something wrong with my eyes?”
Boom-
The sensation of stalling stopped abruptly.
Except for the stiff and stagnant Mark, all of them stood unsteadily and fell to the ground.
“Cough cough cough!” Ann spat out the dirt in her mouth and got up in a sorry state, she craned her neck to look in Saul’s direction, “Master, are you alright?”
Saul was still flying a meter high in the air, but the sudden disappearance of the sense of weightlessness caused his spiritual power to suffer a violent tremor, and he suddenly couldn’t maintain his sorcery, and his entire body fell to the ground.
But the good thing was that the strength of the impact he felt was the same as if he had jumped from a height of about a meter, and not as much of an impact as if he had already fallen for dozens of seconds.
Saul felt like he hadn’t been in this much of a mess in a long time. He lifted the hood that was fastened to his head and patted the dirt from his clothes.
“I’m fine. Are you guys okay?”
It was as if they had literally fallen from ten thousand meters just now, but their flesh hadn’t taken the slightest impact.
This cognitive paradox made it impossible for all of them to maintain any more sorcery.
“Everyone, don’t probe with your spirit power for now.” Saul stood up with his arms propped up.
“We may have entered the Elven Valley.” Agu also just got up from the ground.
“Yes!” A slightly laughing voice rang out.
A few people turned their heads sideways to see a teasing grin raise on the face of Mark, who had just been stiff as a statue.
“Welcome to, the Forest of Seasons.”
Mark spread his arms wide, and the mouths in the palms of his two hands curved up in a twisted arc.
