Chapter 270: Searching for a Ship

Chapter 270 – Seeking the Ship
Sol squinted his eyes and looked over the town’s walls, not seeing the barrier that had stopped his arrows.

His semi-immersive meditation was good at observing spirits and pollution, but not so much when it came to curses.

That being the case, he simply used his naked eye to meticulously observe the air above the town’s walls.

Finally, between the inside and outside of the town, he vaguely saw a transparent plastic-like shell.

This shell extended upwards from the town walls and polymerized in the air, forming a hemispherical hood.

But it wasn’t actually hemispherical.

Saul walked under the walls and quickly dug a half-meter deep hole.

The ground underneath the walls also touched a transparent barrier.

“Up in the sky, we’re afraid there’s nowhere to run.” Saul turned to Billy, “Does the senior have any more powerful attacks?”

Angela jumped out, “Let’s all use our strongest attacks and attack a point at the same time, we might be able to break through the tolerance limit of this transparent wall.”

Who expected Billy to shake his head.

“I just observed the transparent wall when it was attacked and came to the conclusion that this wall can withstand several times the concentrated attack of the corrosive claws.” His gaze swept over the two, “If either of you can unleash a 3rd-order sorcery or have a corresponding sorcery scroll, you can give it a try, otherwise don’t waste your magic.”

“If you can’t break it violently, then there should be another way out, right?” Saul walked back and slapped the dirt off his palms, “Isn’t it true that the only way we can break the barrier is to break this curse?”

“In theory, yes.” Bill nodded slightly.

In the next second, Saul and Billy simultaneously looked towards the center of the town, in the direction of that clock tower.

Angela saw Saul and Billy’s movements, and her heart went cold, “Are we …… still going over there?”

Inside, she was not willing to take risks, so her first reaction was actually to find a place to hide.

“Unless you can fly in the air all the time, there won’t be a place to hide.” Billy said coldly.

Saul remembered what the spirits had said to him after he came in, and the sound of the approaching tide, “Are you referring to the sound of those waters?”

Billy nodded, “I once read about a curse in a book describing curses, the pattern is very similar to the one here.”

“What?” Angela’s eyes immediately lit up, “Then wouldn’t you already have a way out of here?”

Billy ignored Angela and said to Saul, “That curse is called the Black Tide of Extinction. It refers to the black tide that corrodes everything will cleanse all living dead spirits in the enacted area. But the problem now is that the tide I just saw was blood red.”

“Blood red?” Sol’s heart fluttered, “It looks like they’ve already encountered the wave. But I’ve been here much longer, and so far I’ve only heard the sound of the wave. What have they done to have already met it head on.”

Although he thought so, Saul outwardly made a heartfelt expression.

“In that case, perhaps the method to break that curse can be brought for reference.” Sol said.

“That’s what I thought.” Billy nodded, “The way to break the Black Tide of Extinction curse is to violently break the energy of the curse, and the second is to find the ‘ship’ and survive the outbreak of the curse, and then you can leave.”

“But the Extinction Black Tide’s curse requires at least a full-fledged sorcerer to violently break it. In terms of pure attack power, we’re not enough combined.”

“Then we can only try the second method.” Saul said, “Even though this is not a black tide but a red tide, it’s not something we can withstand. If we have to find a suitable ‘ship’ ……”

“Go to the Clock Tower.” Billy picked up.

Saul locked eyes with him, knowing that the two had thought of something.

“Do we really have to go back? But didn’t we just escape from there?” Angela clenched her hands uneasily, “What if we run into those red tides again?”

“We just heard the water, we didn’t really see the red waves.” Billy said, “If we meet it head on this time, we’ll have to find a way around it.”

After the discussion, the three of them stopped hesitating and ran to the bell tower in unison.

Angela couldn’t run fast enough and purposely lagged behind, thinking that if there was any danger, she would let them take the lead.

However, at this time, she suddenly noticed Saul pulling out a small object from his sleeve and gesticulating there.

Because he had divided half of his energy into other things, Saul’s running speed was obviously not as fast as it was just now.

“Could it be that he’s trying to get Billy to top it as well?” A little curious and suddenly wondering what Saul was doing, Angela craned her neck to glance into Saul’s hand.

I saw what looked like a golden coin in Saul’s hand. And Saul was holding something and scraping at the coin. Just as Angela was becoming more and more curious as to what Saul was doing at the critical moment, the sound of the waves started once more.

This time however it was no longer just a sound.

Saul took the time to look up and finally saw what it meant to be a bloody giant wave.

All this time he had only heard the sound and not seen it. The sound of the approaching tide made him realize that he wasn’t far from hitting the red wave.

Countless bright red tides were like a tsunami erupting, surging towards the tower from the streets in all directions.

The largest wave could be more than 10 meters high. It was unknown where the tide had actually hidden before it appeared.

Wherever the wave passed, doors and windows broke, houses collapsed, and the debris and vehicles on the street were all swept up by the wave and carried forward.

In those red waves, Saul even saw a few luxurious carriages and a few pieces of exotic style clothes.

“It seems that those ordinary people who mistakenly entered the town didn’t end up well ah, of course it may not be by mistake ……”

Saul only glanced at it before looking down and continuing to work on his ancient coins.

But in order to speed things up, he conjured the small algae out of the back of his neck and split it into four, transforming it into four thighs that directly hoisted Saul up for a quick escape.

Little Algae was very flexible, hanging Sol like this, its speed was even faster than him running at full speed.

In order not to be touched by the red tide that obviously had a killing power, and also in order to arrive at the clock tower as soon as possible, the three of them began to show their own abilities.

Billy flew straight up.

Flight was a necessary secondary sorcery for almost every third level wizard apprentice.

However, Flight was a 2nd level sorcery, and Saul had no chance to learn it, so he still asked Algae to accelerate him.

Algae once again hoisted Saul up, and his tentacles began to crawl along the wall.

Two child-like shadows emerged from her feet. The two shadows hugged her calves and seemed to be helping her run harder.

But speed was not Angela’s strong suit, and even though the spirits were desperately trying to help Angela for the sake of their own inventory, she was still the slowest of the three.

And while it was true that Angela wasn’t running too slow, it wasn’t enough compared to Billy and Saul.

Suddenly, as they were about to approach the clock tower, red tides also came out from the left and right sides of the intersection in front of them, about to stop and converge in front of them, blocking the way of the three.

At the critical moment, Billy suddenly landed low and picked up Angela in a circular embrace, bringing her into mid-air.

Billy’s speed was affected by Angela and became slightly slower than Saul’s, so Saul had safely crossed the intersection before them.

Billy’s altitude and speed were both more affected.

Especially the height, he was no longer flying high enough to carry Angela over the tip of the red tide ahead.

Seeing that he and Angela were about to be caught by the tide on both sides, Angela had closed her eyes in fear.

But he still didn’t put Angela down.

He desperately pushed his magic power, and finally managed to increase his speed a bit again, and the two of them narrowly flew past before the blood waves converged.

Seeing this scene, Saul pondered.

Especially after seeing how the rescued Angela was very accustomed to Billy’s help, he knew that it hadn’t happened once or twice.

However, if it was said that Billy helped Angela because there was a bond between the two of them, it would be better to believe that Billy was a person with a bad face.

It was not a good thing to get used to other people’s assistance. Even if one would tell oneself in one’s mind to be independent physically one is prone to unconscious dependence.

Saul noticed again that Angela’s right leg was trembling slightly.

Just now, although he had been carried by Billy through the wave pinch, there was still water splashing onto her calf.

Looking at her face in agony, Saul was once again sure, “Can’t be touched by this red tide. If it is really swallowed by the tide …… it will probably become part of the tide.”
