Chapter 23 The Replaced Visualization Chart
Chapter 23: The Replaced Contemplation Chart
Saul’s interest in academic discussions all but faded as he directly took Korrie’s meditation book, endured his dizziness, and flipped through it from cover to cover.
The order of the content was the same, except that his seventeenth page was changed from Korrie’s 10,000 serpents diagram to a human-monster walking diagram.
Kagome also came over to look at it.
“Why is our page different? Well ……” she turned away with her eyes tightly closed after only one look, “I’m so dizzy, I want to throw up.”
It took her a few moments to slow down before she could open her eyes, one eye turning red and tears seeming to spill out of it at any moment.
“This figure, I guess only someone as strong as your mental strength would choose it. I can’t even stand to look at it.”
Sol retrieved his meditation book and stared straight at the monster above.
Only people with strong enough mental power would choose this picture, so in turn, was this the only picture that made people with stronger mental power not feel dizzy?
Sol glanced again at the picture of the Ten Thousand Serpents on Kori’s book.
If no one blamed the walking diagram, the odds were that he would choose this one as his meditation viewing diagram.
A long list of questions immediately sprang up in Saul’s mind.
Did someone deliberately replace the contents of his book?
Who could have done it? Could it still be that Sid?
Did he know that he would choose this walking picture of a man-monster? Did he tamper with it?
Would his life be in danger if he continued to observe with this picture?
At that thought, Saul glanced over his left shoulder, the hardback book resting peacefully.
Well, it wouldn’t be life-threatening at the moment.
The meditation book and other textbook items had been delivered to Saul’s door by the maid; could it have been a replacement made by Cid along the way?
Despite the fact that the Man-Monster Walking Chart had saved his life twice, Saul was now afraid to continue meditating with it.
“Kid, your name is Saul right?” At this time a first level apprentice sitting on the other side of Saul suddenly came over.
He looked about seventeen or eighteen years old and was two heads taller than Sol.
“Where did you get this meditation picture?” He heard Saul and Kore talking.
“Elder, have you seen it before?”
“Elder? Hehehe, that’s a good title.” The other party grinned, “I once read it in a book. The meditation books used by first level apprentices and second level apprentices are different, and if I remember correctly, this one of yours should be a visualization chart only used by second level apprentices.”
He licked his lips, his gaze a little fiery.
“I’ll pay one credit for you to topograph it for me.”
This man actually wanted the view map on Saul’s book of unknown origin?
Sol’s hand rested on the back of the book.
He thought about the man-monster walking diagram that had helped him in the lab, and then he thought about the maid lying on the cold conveyor belt yesterday.
“It’s fine, but aren’t you afraid of any dangers on it, Senior? After all, it’s a view map that only a second level apprentice would use.”
That senior licked his lips again, “That’s not something you need to worry about, sell it or not?”
Sell, of course.
After class, the three of them jointly went to the library on the ninth floor of the East Tower, where that senior took the initiative to find someone to help them topographically print out the view map.
Saul, on the other hand, told him to go to the registration room to transfer one credit directly to Korie’s name.
That first level apprentice didn’t know about the deal between Saul and Ke Li, but just looked at the two with ambiguous eyes and sighed, “It’s really good to be young, and actually spend money for women.”
Keri was so angry that she wanted to go forward and kick the man in the balls, but was pulled back by Saul.
“Is he out of his mind? I’m only twelve!”
Korie said to Saul in exasperation after the first level apprentice left with the topographed kanjutsu.
“Yeah, definitely in the water.”
After calming the little girl, Saul left Korie behind and returned to the library on the side to make a one-day extension for the book he borrowed yesterday, Grimm’s Perception of Sorcerous Body Transformation.
He did not finish transcribing the book because of the time he accidentally consumed in the corpse room yesterday afternoon. However, Saul didn’t care about borrowing it for an extra day now that he had an entry.
After borrowing the book, Saul first returned to the dormitory for lunch.
The maid who brought him lunch this time was no longer the original one, after all, the original one had been thrown by Saul into the large box underneath the operating table.
The new maid looked a bit older, and when handing Saul his food, her hands kept trembling, almost spilling the food. Her face was pale, and she kept bowing and apologizing to Saul, as if Saul would end her life in the next second.
Saul grimaced and waved his hand for the maid to leave.
This maid might have been shocked by the death of her predecessor, or she might know something.
Saul decided to take his book of observations to Mentor Katz.
Mentor Kazi wouldn’t want the little worker he had just found to die in office the next day, would he?
With this thought, Sol glanced at the meal on the table.
His own book could be tampered with, what about the food?
The food should be poisoned, but it should have been poisoned a long time ago.
But once you are suspicious, you are nervous to look at anything.
Saul looked at the table meal, hard to mention half of the appetite.
“I’m still too weak now, I must buy myself some time. At the very least, I can’t let Sid do whatever he wants like before!”
Saul rushed to the corpse room on the second floor of the East Tower on a hungry stomach.
The Corpse Room had no guests today, and the candlestick on the teleportation table was dim and seemed like it would go out at any time.
Saul walked near the conveyor and listened carefully for a while, and could hear pattering next door.
He asked in a low voice, “No work today, Senpai?”
There was a thud on the other side, and it took a while for the sound to come out.
“Are there any lights you don’t know how to look at? Do you know that this kind of place suddenly talks to scare people to death?”
“Uh, sorry.”
Saul thought back, if he were to suddenly hear someone talking in a place like this, he would probably be startled as well.
“Senpai, so there’s no work, so we’re just going to wait here forever?”
“Not wait here for what? If you dare to just run off and miss what Tutor Kazi is doing, be careful that tomorrow it will be you lying up there by yourself.”
Saul looked at the conveyor belt that was dark yet some stain marks could be seen, and honestly sat back down in front of the table.
The place smelled bad and the atmosphere was horrible, but at least there was no shortage of tables, chairs, paper and pens.
Saul simply continued to transcribe his Grimm’s Perception of Object Transformation here.
Time always flies when you’re concentrating.
Saul looked up and realized that it was almost seven o’clock, but Mentor Katz still hadn’t come.
“What about this?”
He rubbed his stomach, his 12 year old body was able to eat from morning till night. Especially since Saul had had two days of rich clothing and food, it was surprising that he couldn’t help being hungry at all now.
He was already starving now, so if he couldn’t see Kaz today, should he starve another day tomorrow?
Or go to Kong Sha?
Saul shook his head again.
He didn’t want to be completely at Kongsha’s mercy, and if he couldn’t re-demonstrate his worth in front of Kongsha, Kongsha would surely still make him take that potion that overdrew his potential.
“No bodies today?” Kaz’s voice suddenly sounded in the doorway.
Saul looked back in surprise.
Kaz’s expression was light, not displeased by the lack of harvest today.
“Mentor!” Saul hurriedly held up the meditation book that had been resting on his knees and rushed over.
“Ask any questions quickly, I’m in a hurry.”
“Mentor,” Saul flipped the meditation book to the page with the human-monster walking diagram, “This is my meditation book.”
Kaz saw the observation chart and came to some interest, “Erosion chart? You’re a first level apprentice and you dare to use this meditation?”
