Chapter 26.

Chapter 26: Can’t afford to be messed with

Just this moment, some of the High Elves who were ordered to be recalled had already rushed over at the news.

Just suddenly bumped into the scene of the tragic and horrifying picture, all were shocked at the intensity of the battlefield which was completely beyond the specifications.

Wasn’t it said that there was only one red young dragon?
They also believed it when they said it was a chance encounter with a young red dragon in heat!
“Sir! Are you alright?” Several elven knights rushed forward, and a spell caster rushed to cast [Elemental Energy Protection] and [Rapid Healing].

But Yevgeny pushed her away, forcing herself to endure the pain in her body:

“Quickly! Chase! In the direction of the southern foothills, spread out the people, that red dragon can’t run too far by relying on a stream of dragon’s breath, make sure to find them!”

“Yes!”

“Wait! Their injuries are also not light, especially that red dragon, make sure not to use force this time, once you find them, just stabilize them and wait for me!”

“Obey! Your Excellency!” The elves didn’t refuse even though they had a hard look on their faces.

At least this time, they weren’t sent up to fight the dragon hard.

The elves were scattered, only as time passed, Yevgeny, who was an old fox of the battlefield, soon realized that something was wrong.

The red dragon continued to spit according to that momentum, even if it spewed out its lungs, it would run at most ten miles.

But she has been waiting in the same place for almost four hours, even a report back are not.

”A third force has intervened?!”

This possibility that made her extremely uneasy immediately jumped out from her mind, and the more she thought about it, the more likely it became.

“That group of barbarians? Impossible! Those barbarians would never have the guts to do that!”

“Could it be that the crimson plague knows? No, if Pavla had been awakened, I would never have been able to stay here peacefully by now.”

Evgeni laughed to herself as she bit her thumb and couldn’t stop the pupils of her eyes from rolling:

“Is that some other dragon?”

“Still. Our nemesis, the Drow Elves, might have landed?”

The pupils of Evgeni’s eyes shrunk heavily, then slowly flared out again, releasing a smile as if she had suddenly found the answer.

Yes, at a time like this, it seemed that only the Shadow Dancers of the Drell Elves were able to do this to this extent silently!

“Lieutenant!”

“Here!”

“Ayeona, you ride the Pegasus around the harbor and back to Dwensel and inform the Lords of my plans with everything that is going on here.”

“Yes!” Adjutant Ayeona immediately led the order.

Only this time, she clearly hesitated:
“What about you?”

“Me? Of course I will continue to fight on for my lifelong dream of becoming an honorable Dragon Knight.”

Ayeona opened her mouth, but in the end, she did not dissuade her, but instead looked deeply at her commander for one last time with a serious and respectful expression:
“May the elven gods bless you, and I, too, will fulfill my mission!”

“Go.” Evgeni waved his hand.

Looking at her most trusted beloved riding away on a Pegasus, Evgeni then ordered:
“All but the Moonshadow Assassin Formation.”

“In!” As if they had also realized something, all the elves stepped forward in unison.

“You all continue to search cautiously towards the southern foothills, make sure to find them one step ahead of that gang of Drells, don’t startle them, and don’t let that gang of Drells get close to them, can you do it?”

“Eldrinsegai (We will do our best!). .”

“Very well, do your best will do, go.”

“Yes!”

After the main force left, Evgeni turned to look at the few Lunar Shadow Assassins who were left alone:
“You’re all that’s left, are you willing to follow me and go together to fight a war that we will surely lose against our arch-enemies, the Drow Elves?” “Dellserinsmai (we are gladly willing to go!)”

“Very well, then, let us depart, our group of old friends are, perhaps, already waiting for us at the harbor.”

Evgeni looked in the direction of the harbor on the west coast, took a deep breath, and revealed a sprightly and brilliant smile.

Just like the day when she was harboring the dream of becoming a Dragon Knight and leading the Dragon Rider Legion to recover the Middle Kingdom, she had just enlisted in the army.

If this is fate.
She would also harbor the dream and drown together.

In the southern foothills of the mountain range, the bloodstained Drow mage staggered to the woefully out-of-shape but sharp-eyed Hiatt, and reported with some pitiful misery:
“Chief, just as you expected, that gang of High Elves scattered their reserve troops as well.”

Saying that, she looked around and almost directly knelt down:

“No? There are only two of us left?”

But her eyes didn’t show any regret for the loss of her companions or for abandoning them, instead, she played the role of a pitiful person:

“But it’s true, that group of High Elves don’t know which Elf Lord they came from, they are so strong, when I came back just now, I also encountered a Sword Dancer, if it wasn’t for the fact that I had left a spell position, I would have almost died right there.”

“Cut the crap.” Hiatt seemed to be somewhat inexplicably annoyed.

“. Chief, then you can just say it, are we going to go after those two young dragons, or are we going to kill our way back to the harbor and sneak and grab a ship to go home?”

As if it was fate, the choice that was previously placed in front of the High Elf Yevgeny, similarly fell on the Drow Elf Hiatt.

Yevgeny chose to have both, while Hiatt sneered after a moment of gloom:
“Home? We Zor-Elves, where is home?” .

“Then we go after the dragon?”

“No, we go to the harbor.” Hiatt said almost coldly and decisively.

It had been five years since she had wasted away in this old continent, and now that the opportunity she had waited for for five years had finally come, she could not choose to give up no matter what.

“What? But those two dragons look like they’re at their limits, maybe they’ve already fallen into a deep sleep, and if we go to the harbor, we only have two elves left.”

“Limit? That’s what I thought five years ago, but what happened?”

Hiatt gave the guy who always felt a bit intellectually deficient but magically managed to inaugurate himself as a spellcaster a look of idiocy:

“Come on, let’s go home.”

The aftermath was irreparable, but if she didn’t make the journey home now .
She didn’t know if her younger brother, Krytian, would survive his bar mitzvah.

Setting out on the road to the Spider’s Nest and taking Kraytian away at all costs was the only hope she had at this moment, deep in the mire.

“As for those two dragons, we can’t afford to mess with either of them right now.”

However, just as the two remaining Drow embarked on their return journey to the harbor with the same determination as the High Elf Evgeni, a voice that had been familiar to them for a long time but gave them the creeps resounded from behind themselves:
“Oh? So, after these five years, you have become quite self-aware, dear Ms. Drell.”

Pfft.

Before Hiatt even had the chance to do anything, the Drell mage who was a piggyback had immediately knelt down and cried out in pain and surrendered at the speed of light:

“I’m sorry!!! Don’t kill me! I was wrong! We indeed can’t afford to mess with you, as an apology for the disrespect back then, whatever you want me to do is fine!”

Hiatt raised her hand and rubbed her brain that felt like it was about to crack on the spot.

In that moment, there was no telling what decision she suddenly made to turn around with relief.

“It’s been a long time, Mr. Gargoyle.”

“After a five-year absence, you’ve grown more and more majestic and dominant.”

She looked up at the red dragon David, who was being assisted by the silver dragon Tania on one dragon wing, unclasped her Drell Scimitar and Black Flare Dagger and threw them on the ground, slowly raised her empty hands, and smiled with a smile on her face:

“Like her, I’ll do whatever I’m told as long as I’m allowed to live.”
