Chapter 9: The Silver Bazaar
Chapter 9 The Silver Bazaar
Heine briefly recounts his bumpy road of schooling and debt repayment before returning to the Burial Ground.
Summoning skeletons was included, but not in as much detail.
It was said only to solidify Hunter Gittler’s villainy; he wasn’t prepared to fully answer Donald’s questions.
Why is the timing of the Holy Light Trial and Hunter’s hand so coincidental?
Why?
Because Hunter’s a two-fifty from Eternal Dawn!
Heine now knew of Eternal Dawn’s existence, saw Donald’s beliefs, and foresaw the future of the McCalla Mountains.
He knows that the Holy Light is about to cleanse the place – with deliberate evil, aggression can be packaged as righteous rescue.
But he could not speak.
This was not someone’s improvisation, it was the momentum of history, a powerful inertia that would only be crushed to pieces if it was hastily blocked.
So he chose to turn the unanswerable question into one that could be answered, and could be answered perfectly.
“Hum ……”
Donald sneered:
“If Hunter Gitler is as powerful and vicious as you say, I really can’t imagine that a skeleton summoned by a cadet dissuaded from the Buried Bone Land could easily kill him.
“I’m not exactly a stranger to necromancers, and a weak skeleton servant summoned by a ‘trainee’ necromancer wouldn’t even be able to take on a robust hound, no kidding sir.”
See, there it goes!
Heine laughed, “Care to try?”
“What?”
“Questioning the undead servant is questioning the necromancer himself, I request a duel with you.”
“Huh?” Donald lost his smile, “Who am I to duel with you?”
“I inherited my father’s knighthood, I have that right.”
Heine was already removing his gloves – he’d worn them specifically to get a kick out of this.
George Jr. hastened to stop Heine, who had been holding back his laughter from the start.
“Mr. Donald is too old to participate in a duel, obviously. How about this, in three days I will organize a hunt to warm up for the Mercy Festival, and then I will invite the two of you to duke it out with the number of hunted animals, would that be alright?”
Heine readily agreed, and Donald agreed with a black face.
……
After having breakfast at the Viscount’s mansion, Heine was ready to head to the market that was exclusively for adventurers.
Silver Bazaar.
Hearing about his destination, the Viscount handed him a badge.
“This means you are my guest.”
It was one of his rewards for turning in those deeds and papers.
A large portion of the land in Garey’s name was located on the haunted farm, and he didn’t say who he was leaving it to, but he addressed the letter to the Viscount, the meaning of which was self-evident.
Heine knew better than to meddle.
At least not yet.
He went to the marketplace first and laid low.
It was crowded and noisy, with savvy vendors who spoke black to each other, man-child beggars and pickpockets, mysterious adventurers who concealed their forms, all manner of people and things perfectly suited to Heinrich Heine’s idea of an adventure.
He was satisfied, but not overly involved.
The waters were too deep here for even the local lords to fully control.
He only bought a full-coverage helmet, a red visor that wrapped around his head, and some tranquilizing potions before hurrying back.
The next day, he performed a full disguise for the two skeletons.
Catch the Goat wore a helmet and Heine’s winter coat, with his bones wrapped up and slung behind his back.
He spat that he looked like a disembodied deserter, and Mr. Summer looked like a landmine-stealing ghost with a conspicuous red bandana.
“Even though I knew he was going to take us out, the dude’s aesthetics are downright criminal.”
But instead of being offended, Mr. Xia is massively in love with the red visor Heine bought.
He was even more excited than Goat was when he got the Bone Set.
“This dude understands me so well! How does he know so much!”
“You’re not so bad hey, it’s just a normal mask ……”
“You don’t understand! The material of this mask is blood dissolving hemp, a specialty of the Makara region, perfectly adapted to the Bloody Pirate suit. Unfortunately, when the equipment phantom function was opened, the Makara region was already gone, and it went out of print! I’ve collected at least 60 masks all of which don’t match the suit, do you know how hard it is for me!!!”
“…… don’t really understand you appearance parties.”
“It’s true that I can’t compare to you guys, the skills are either big swords or big wings, what more appearance.”
“Ah yes yes yes ……”
This is the right thing, yesterday always feel missing something, the original is less people in the ear bb.
Listening to the two daily dislike each other, Heine drove back to the Silver Bazaar.
Like him, he waved the entrance like a very stupid and money rich kaiju, almost the whole street beggars flocked to.
“Sir, let me hold your horse for you!”
“Sir sir, where are you going, do you need a guide?” “Sir, I know all the vendors on this street!”
Heine snapped his fingers and a green cloud of ghostly-faced smoke suddenly appeared, the beggars were scared out of their wits and dispersed.
Summoning a ghost face was just a trick and couldn’t make it to the stage, but it was still considered casting a spell.
A guard soon came to warn Heine that spell casting was forbidden on this street.
But after seeing his badge, his attitude immediately softened.
“This sir, next time you can let us handle this kind of small matter on your behalf.”
Heine, who understood how difficult the service industry was, tossed out a silver coin in exchange for a more genuine smile.
Politely refusing the guard’s generous accompaniment, the carriage first stopped in front of a store called “Focus on Defense”.
He bought his helmet from here yesterday, and when he saw the owner of the store coming out to greet him with a warm face, he knew that he had been ripped off yesterday.
“Sir, what would you like to order this time?”
Heine didn’t make a fuss and raised his hand to point at the bright silver full body armor.
“How much is this one?”
“You really have a discerning eye!”
The shopkeeper’s eyes lit up and he began to enthusiastically introduce it.
Teacher Xia: “This dude is crazy, that thing is a blank slate with no words, only magic makers buy it to recast, who in their right mind wears this?”
“This you’re wrong, we were also pitched by npc before learning, always have to pay tuition ah. Besides, this kind of plate armor strength is also enough, have armor is always better than running around naked, I see you are just sour.”
“Brother Goat, are you licking him so much because this thing will wear on you?”
“Right.”
“How true ……”
“That must be, one of the virtues of a knight is honesty.”
Hearing this Heine’s mind was made up.
He interrupted the shopkeeper’s gushing boast, “How much?”
“8 gold coins, I originally wanted to offer 10 gold coins, but you are the Lord Lord’s honored guest, so ……”
“80 silver coins.” Heine opened his mouth.
It was as if the shopkeeper couldn’t believe his ears, “What?”
“I’m from the Buried Bone Land and have been in charge of your orders here, you understand what I mean, right?”
He had seen this store in Gare’s accounts, and the centralized purchase price was 60 silver coins for a set, not including helmets.
Maybe it was because of magic, metalwork in this world was cheap.
What was expensive was the enchantment.
Everything enchanted is dauntingly expensive.
Hearing him say that, the shopkeeper’s expression instantly collapsed.
He said with some despair:
“Minimum 1 gold coin, tax side …… In short, selling to the academy is not the same as selling to you.”
“Good.”
Watching Heine cut the price in a cloudy manner, both of them were dumbfounded.
“This dude …… doesn’t seem to need to pay tuition.”
“Maybe this is the wisdom of the aborigines.”
……
Leaving the store, Heine went straight to the “magic leather” that he had chosen yesterday.
Deerskin boots enchanted with a slight aura of swiftness.
Enchanted cloak with slight jungle shelter
Chainmail with slight magic resistance.
The three pieces of equipment cost 16 gold coins, and half of Heine’s fortune was gone in an instant.
He originally had his eye on a green hunter’s hat, but unfortunately, Mr. Xia behind him shouted “I don’t want that” like a pig, so he politely asked for a price and expressed his regret.
This green hat actually want 20 gold coins ……
The half-elf who was the owner of the store was indifferent, and the two of them didn’t comment on the price.
The prices of magical equipment were never fudged because there was no need for that.
As he walked out of this store, Heine listened to Mr. Xia take a long breath.
But at the same time, he regretted:
“It’s a pity that I can’t suggest him to do the ‘Scorpion Tail Needle’ quest even though I’ve come to the bazaar, that magical hand crossbow can be used for quite a long time.”
Coming!
The thing he had been waiting for was finally here!
