Chapter 230: Notification of meetings

Chapter 229 Notice of Meeting
“Saberia?”

Hearing that answer, Ashitsuki’s heart that had been hanging in the air finally fell.

Sure enough, it was this Jungle Wind.

She knew the complete process of the Battle of Cui Ye Ting from Heine, so naturally, she was clear about the origin of the Morphing School.

No wonder Gray had lived so comfortably in the midst of the disaster, that was after all the knowledge left behind by Saberia.

After all, even Quirkus fought against the contamination from the magic net by making spirit figurines.

Still, a stunned look appeared on her face:

“Are you saying that the Pathfinder Hero of old was a necromancer?”

“As far as I know so far, indeed.” Gray replied.

He was satisfied with the other party’s response.

“Cross the Nardolan River, bypass this forest covered in magic webs from the northern realm, then enter the Makara Mountains from the southern side of Godello City, and then head to Cuirassing Leaf Court from there.”

Graymoon: “But the Demonweb still covers a small half of the Northlands, and it has become the norm for the Nyss to receive messages from the Demonweb privately.”

“Shipbuilding.” Gray replied, “We’ll need a boat big enough to cross the swift river, and then we’ll need enough men to steer it.”

“I’m afraid the Northlands are the only place in this world other than the Zanero Plateau that is now the least affected, and it would be best to go there if we want to avoid disaster.”

“Because there’s no magic net communication station there.” Gray said, “That Chief Priestess, Lord Nyces, would not allow the Veritas to build a communication station within their borders.”

Gray Moon nodded slightly.

Taking advantage of Gray Moon’s “shock”, he continued:

Gray Moon frowned, “How do you know that the Northlands must be safe?”

Coupled with the intentional blockade by the Council of Elders, he was not aware of the specific details of the Battle of Cuiye Court, as well as the fact that the Shadow Sanctuary was pulling the elves into court.

Then out of his hostility towards the Silver Elves and Night Elves, they were automatically filtered out by him.

Gray Moon immediately revealed an odd expression.

“Are you kidding, ma’am?”

He was also well aware that it did take a bit of time to get used to learning such powerful news for the first time.

Gray: “Yes, but despite that, the Northlands are still ‘clean’. The contamination of the Void comes from the magic web, accumulating in it, but it must pass through the communication stations to be released, of which the Dodo Territory is the best example.

“Now let’s talk ‘deals’, Ms. Graymoon. There is only one way to go if you want to return to the Whispering Forest.”

He just knew that the Shadow Sanctuary and the Night Elves were having a bad time, and the matter had spread to the Mercury royal family.

This was in line with her knowledge.

“So what do you want us to do? Is there anything you can’t do alone?”

“Could it be that your undead servants ……”

He pointed north.

As a necromancer who lived deep in the past, he wasn’t interested in “international news” other than the whereabouts of the Elder Guard.

Gray couldn’t help but laugh.

For a moment, he thought that the other party was a bit silly and cute.

“That’s just some corpses manipulated by wandering souls, do you think I ransacked the sacred tomb of the Lucuans and robbed those spirits?”

“So that’s how it is ……”

Gray Moon was thoughtful.

She recalled a lot.

Someone’s skeleton could sneak, stomp devotion, rub shadow arrows, and catch magical beasts …… and two of them.

On top of that, those skeletons could think, and words would float out of the top of their heads.

With this comparison, it seemed as if Heine’s skeletons indeed did not look like undead creatures, it was simply outrageous and excessive.

Gray finished explaining all this and said, “It’s getting late, you guys have a good rest, if you lack anything go to the west side of the village and look for it, the dead gas shouldn’t have spread there yet. Starting tomorrow, you will be working – I hope this will be a pleasant cooperation.”

“Good.”

Seeing the other party leave with a group of servants, the young men behind Ashitsuki immediately surrounded them.

“Big sister, are we really going to cooperate with him?” La Ni asked.

“For now yes.” Graymoon nodded, “He’s right, only the Northlands are safe right now.”

She stroked Lani’s red hair, “I’m sorry I’m not powerful enough to protect you all, but once we get to that place, everything will be fine.”

“But isn’t he being too friendly?”

It was the stoic elf boy who had stood up for Lani earlier who spoke. His name was Ed, and he wasn’t on the list.

After Ryan Antler of the Council of Elders secretly spread the news that “the hero who solved the blight is staying in Mourning Wood”, the response was not as enthusiastic as he had expected.

So all the honors and awards were put on hold, as if they had never been mentioned.

However, it was convenient for Ashitsuki to contact the “seeded candidates” on the list.

Then the void disaster broke out, and many settlements outside of Mourning Wood City were attacked by strange beasts.

The area around the Blight Scar in the Mourning Wood Forest became a nest for the beasts, and even the sky was colored purple by the fissure.

Under these circumstances, Ashitsuki had been prepared to return to Greenleaf Town alone.

However, she didn’t want these young men to come to her door when they heard that she was planning to leave.

Among them was this uninvited Ed.

He was a perfectly ordinary magical apprentice, but he saw right through it all.

“The fact that the Council of Elders doesn’t even dare to trumpet your achievements shows that they themselves don’t believe in this nonsense, so how can they possibly make the people believe in it as well?”

Gray Moon was greatly shocked.

This young man’s opinion of the Council of Elders had already caught up with Renee’s.

But the latter was the Third Queen of the Silver Elves, and he was just a teenager from the slums ……

And so Ed became a member of the team.

“That’s because we still have a use for it.”

Gray Moon said with a worried face.

“Until we cross the river in a boat, we’ll be considered allies for the time being. So don’t forget to practice these days as well, one more power is one more chance to survive.”

Gray returned to his quarters.

He closed the door to his room and released a few Evil Spirits that could hide, letting them act as eyes in high places that were not easily noticed.

Then, he blocked up the house, which led him to take out a bronze mirror.

He placed two fingernail-sized energizing stones behind the mirror and activated it.

“Honorable My Lord, I have found the manpower to assist me in my journey to the Northlands, and I expect to arrive in the mountains of Makara in two months to investigate the local lords.

“But I lost contact with my allies in the Northlands a long time ago, and I have heard that the Shadow Templars are increasingly pursuing us, so I’m afraid I need your help.”

Transmitting the string of information into the swirling vortex of the mirror, he waited only a minute before a section of black smoke drifted out and condensed into a single sentence in the air.

“Be prepared to approach your contact at midnight today.”

“Yes.”

Although he knew the reply would not be heard, Gray saluted respectfully.

……

……

McCalla Mountains.

Heine had just arrived at the northern outskirts of the lumberyard when he felt an eerie soul fluctuation coming from the package he was carrying on Guardian Iris.

“Did you sense anything?” He asked.

“?”

The Northeasterner returned his question mark.

Heine: “Give me that mirror.”

Guardian Iris flips out the mirror and hands it to Heine.

He examined it and realized that it was indeed “vibrating”.

Although it wasn’t bound, he could detect a faint movement.

“It seems that this thing only has an effect on necromancers ……”

Heine couldn’t help but think.

He activated the mirror, then watched as a command floated out from it:
“At midnight, make sure a person is in front of the mirror and no one is around.”

Heine froze.

Was this a …… meeting notice?
