190. Chapter 190: Swapping Identities

Chapter 190 – Identity Swap
After explaining the ins and outs, General Sa surprisingly showed resistance to Ashitsuki’s request.

“I don’t know.”

With his straight ball refusal, the scene was very awkward for a while.

Mr. Natsu: “That’s not like you, Mr. Sa, wouldn’t you be able to learn a few more skills by following your big sister?”

Mr. Sa: “But what can Big Sister teach me? Her most powerful ones are the Withering Shot after becoming a boss, the Binding Vine left in place when she jumped back, and the parasitic effect of the Decapitation Arrow, do you think she’ll still have those now?”

Mr. Xia: “Uh …… indeed, those are boss skills.”

Mr. Sa: “Besides, what she wants are the refreshment spots of rare beasts, this isn’t a game, squatting for ten days and half a month to get one, catching it can be gone! Who am I to let her have it?”

Wei Temple Iris: “Then what if Heine persuades you?”

Mr. Sa: “Then I’ll run away from home, go to Godello City to find Xiara, and tell her that Heine is so mesmerized by her big sister that she can’t walk! Dude will just come back in a floating city then!”

“Hahahahaha ……”

Mr. Xia and Wei Diankui laughed out a pig’s squeal.

Even Capturing Sheep took the time to emote in the middle of the battle:

“It’s really worthy of you.”

Damn you, what kind of rumors are these!
Heine almost didn’t tense up.

He was never expecting Sa General’s angle to be so tricky.

However, he did understand that Generalissimo Sa and Catching Sheep were different people.

Although he had his heart in the right place before he saved people, but after he saved them it was a deep-rooted game mindset.

In a way, it was also their different game states.

Different people had different ways of playing, and each had their own insistence.

Saori is a solo hunter, and outside of combat, pets are everything to him.

Heine understood that sentiment well.

He had met a big brother hunter in his thirties in his last life when he was playing Yamaguchi Mountain.

Later, the national service is gone, one day he and his brother drink, the brother for no reason a sentence “I miss my Shuma”, actually red eyes.

He later realized that the pet accompanied each other for fifteen years, longer than his wife.

A section of the data of the keyboard and mouse era is still so, not to mention the more realistic feedback in the virtual online game.

So at this point Sa is no longer a player, he’s a stubborn hunter NPC.
If Gray Moon wanted to get information about pets from him, she would have to brush up on her goodwill like a player.

So Heine called her aside.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t expect him to refuse so dryly.”

Ashitsuki had a look of having seen a ghost.

It was strange enough to find a skeleton asking where there was a suitable beast for a contract.

I didn’t think that it would actually be rejected righteously, with its summoner apologizing.

“Is there really a contractual relationship between you?” She couldn’t help but ask.

“No, you don’t understand, we’re comrades in arms, not master and summoner.” Heine said with a straight face.

“Huh?”

Gray Moon was even more confused.

“Each of my skeletons is an independent individual with its own will, see that paladin.”

Heine pointed at Bedwyr.

Graymoon nodded.

“He worked for the refugees in Greenleaf for two months before Catch the Sheep would see him. As for what happened after that, you saw it all.

“If you want to gain their friendship and get their help, you’ll have to find a way to do it on your own, not pressurize them through me.”

Graymoon fell into deep thought.

General Sa: “Did Sheep Catchers-senpai turn out to be so diabolical!?”

Catching Goat: “What are you talking about Hook 8? That was clearly Heine not letting me come over, and dude even missed a group battle!”

Mr. Xia: “But that’s how it was in Bei’s perception, right? And you didn’t explain, isn’t it super cool de?”

Guardian Iris: “And you changed your shield.”

Mr. Xia: “That’s right.”

Catch the Goat: “Ah yes, yes, yes, that’s what I thought!”

“I see.”

Gray Moon took a deep breath.

“I seem to understand some of the true meaning of a psychic, equality, respect, that’s what it’s all about.

“Communicating with beasts as well, if I hold the dirty idea of enslaving the other, I won’t be able to find a partner who can live and die with me for the rest of my life.”

…… Huh?

As much as Heine wanted to say that’s not what he meant …… it’s fine to be enlightened.

At least by establishing this cognizance, he had accomplished his purpose.

He had gotten this present day through the players, and naturally had to take on and deal with the resulting relationships and surging benefits on their behalf.

If he was the players’ guide in the beginning.

Then now, after getting through the initial novice period, he was the intermediary, the broker.

Even if he can’t hear the players’ feedback, he should have that clarity.

They are allies, symbiotic, not parasitic.

It’s whoever owns it.

As it should be.

……

Graymoon didn’t end up going to talk to Sa.

But she probably knew the direction, and also got the excellent quality of the “wooden teardrop” from Heine.

When she came back from the Mercury Forest, she should have a birdcage of the highest quality with her.

Afterwards, the group took the airship back to the western stronghold of Cui Ye Ting.

On the airship, Heine felt like she had forgotten something, but she couldn’t remember, so she simply put it out of her mind.

He still had a bunch of things to do.

First, he checked what he said with Ashitsuki to make sure it was correct, and then he returned to Greenleaf Town from the stronghold with people and loot that shouldn’t have been there.

Time came in the afternoon and the sky cleared up completely.

Two figures riding large horned winged beasts circled around in the sky above, taking in the scenery below.

For the first time in a thousand years, golden sunlight poured down on the fully exposed Blight Trace, on the tall, quiet, but scarred form of Quirkus.

The blighted creatures that had previously been spurred on by the deadly aura and forced to leave had made a comeback, wandering bewilderedly through the three areas of the withered and broken landscape.

This dilapidation did not come from the death aura, but rather the inability of the power of withering to sustain itself after losing the object it was hosting.

“It’s hard to imagine this place being like this, Darrell.” A female elf with a pretty face lamented, “I would have thought that after being ravaged by the death aura, this place would be gloomy, but the death aura surprisingly hasn’t spread.”

The male elf known as Darrell glanced at her:
“Rosie, I think someone from Eternal Dawn came here.”

“Why?”

“No one but them can control the spread of the dead air.”

Rosie snorted, “And necromancers.”

“Are you talking in your sleep?”

Darrell sneered, controlling his mount to the west.

His eyes were covered with a lime green glow as he took in the path that the Flower Calamity Area had opened up.

Then he chased after them along the marching trail to the west.

Ten minutes later, the speeding duo approached the stronghold, and from afar, they saw a signaling arrow shot into the sky.

Fireworks exploded, forming a red blood thistle.

It was a warning that any further incursion into the airspace would be met with return fire.

“Are the people of Cuirassetia so grumpy now?” Rosie snickered.

“That makes sense.”

Darrell took control of his mount and descended to the ground.

A chortle came from the trees.

“Who are you people?”

Darrell looked over to the half-elf standing in the treetops and couldn’t help but let out a soft eep.

“What’s wrong?” His companion asked, following closely behind.

“Nothing.”

He shook his head.

It was the first time he’d seen a Pernie look at him warily.

It was rare for his kind to be so normal when they either had dodgy eyes or were unabashedly fawning.

Rosie stepped forward and presented a green leaf-beaten paw emblem.

“We are Observers of the Wilderness House, here to investigate the movements of the local Blight Trail, please show us to your stronghold. Also ……”

He looked behind the trees on the other side.

“Your companion has excellent sneaking skills, but the wind has already told me his outline.”

Ravan appeared resentful and rather unconvinced.

Todd jumped down and addressed the two men without condescension:
“Follow me, please.”
