145. Chapter 145 – Skill Stones

Chapter 145 – Skill Stone
“Greetings, my lord.”

A human head shrouded in silver light emerged from the gladiatorial phalanx.

It was none other than the Ring Spirit Tag on the flight ring.

Carl couldn’t be brought in, so he had to let Tyger out.

He couldn’t get too far away either, so he had to float on the spell.

Since the consumption of maintaining this state wasn’t small yet, Heine didn’t bullshit and grabbed the two mages to dock.

“This is the mage Carl Ilan who is more than sixty years away from your era, I’ve already relayed your current situation once, so you guys can just start the academic exchange directly.”

At that Karl puffed out his chest rather proudly.

Tyger, however, looked at him suspiciously twice, staring at Karl’s flowery white hair in particular:
“You have overdosed on woo powder?”

Carl was horrified, “What are you …… you babbling about? How could I have ever touched that stuff?”

He looked at Heine excitedly, “My lord, he slandered me!”

Heine was happy and stood to the side with his arms wrapped around him.

He didn’t really trust Carl much except for information in his area of expertise.

Carl seemed crazy, like an avid researcher.

But at least a third of that was a deliberate act.

For example, during the exchange he never mentions the way Heine transformed when she was enraged.

It’s as if he didn’t even see the scene.

He could understand not being able to see Spirit Embers, but Spirit Embers wove black robes that could be thrown to Weidian Kite to wear, so he couldn’t believe that Karl couldn’t see it.

The guy was obviously smart enough to know what not to ask.

Obviously he was behind bars and had to ask for something, but he couldn’t wait to offer his loyalty, making it seem like Heine took the initiative to save him.

The contradiction between “honesty” and “intelligence” makes this man look like he has a lot of heart.

Then the former is an element of acting.

Heinrich Heine didn’t care about that. He had already surrendered.

But the key information was delivered to his door, and he wouldn’t stop it.

Tag had already argued with Carl for a round, but was argued down by Carl because of his fuzzy memory.

It sounded like the Miwok powder was something like a stimulant, and as a flier Tag hadn’t taken many of them.

Man, this dude gambles, takes drugs, and fakes races, so he’s got a lot on his plate.

And in addition to being expensive and addictive, it also causes premature aging.

For example, Carl looks like he’s in his fifties, but in reality he’s probably in his thirties.

Suddenly, Tag seemed to remember something:
“My lord! Look at his back! There’s another method of potion patch ingestion that’s most favored by researchers besides heated inhalation of the woo powder, and there should be traces of it on his back!”

Carl instantly showed despair on his face.

He never expected a Ringling to remember this ……

Heine looked at him good-naturedly and just smiled.

With the blood spell in place, he could always coerce the other party to undress.

But wouldn’t that be bullying? It was weird how he thought about it.

Carl realized it was the last face.

He disheveled and bowed his head, “Da, my lord …… I did hide my past, I ……”

“This will be said later.”

Heine waved his hand:

“Time is tight, let’s talk business first.”

“Good!”

Karl was relieved.

Initial unpleasantness aside, these two unexpectedly hit it off. Unlike last time, when Naga wasn’t sure about stuff from half a century ago, plus the fact that Megumi was a cultural researcher rather than a spell researcher, it was a complete chicken-and-egg conversation.

Tag was a flier over sixty years ago.

This athletic program of mages racing to fly has since faded into history.

It was replaced by airship racing.

The reason for this was not a regression in spell research, but simply a lack of money.

While it was fun for people to fly around, at best they could pull in sponsors for items such as clothing, ornaments, and staffs.

Not so with airships.

Advertisements can be spray-painted on the blimp, the bow, the sails, all of which can be exposed on a large scale.

In addition, the blimp as a commercial product for the race itself is the best publicity, commercial elements pull full.

Carl is both a pilot and a researcher, and used to work for a club that raced blimps.

–No wonder he can pilot a private blimp all by himself, topping two dwarves.

The two were like soccer practitioners from 2023 meeting professional players from sixty years ago.

The fact that neither was from the giants didn’t stop them from chatting more and more.

Until Tiger went back, Carl was still a little bit tired.

“…… It’s still a pure match from the past!”

Carl lamented.

“So it solves the problem?” Heine asked.

He wanted these “skill trainers” to make a real difference.

“Yes, and the future looks promising! I see a steady stream of wealth beckoning you!”

Carl shook his fist in excitement:

“The ‘structures’ Tag mentioned are called ‘runes’ in today’s magical industry, and are the base units of magical components.

“All the basic runes are publicly available, 37 in total, the same as the 37 letters of the universal language.

“The series and parallel connections of the runes make up the ‘rune group,’ the so-called core. This is classified by the factories, but is apparently not a problem for you; you can get any rune set of five cores (level) or higher by stripping it!”

Heine wondered, “I thought rune sets were models for spells? Are spells also classified?”

Karl shook his head, “Spells aren’t classified, but models can provide ideas for rune sets, as for how to stabilize them by encapsulating them onto components and mass-producing them, the process requires a lot of modifications, and that’s part of the technical barrier.”

Heine drifted off.

True-core secrets.

Carl continued, “So for you to be able to create a steady stream of identical replica cores by simply purchasing enough basic runes and deciphering the rune sets is certainly an excellent route to riches!”

Facing the excited Karl, Heine however shook her head.

It didn’t make sense.

For one thing, this was always going to be a walk up the Truth House’s ass.

Secondly, he knew that there would be a Genin-induced void disaster in the future.

The most heavily victimized of this would be the Magic Network, which might just affect all the magic guide components.

After all, the “rise of the XX profession” that players talked about, and the Academy of Truth’s change of mindset all came after this event.

It would be foolish to follow the trend now.

He had a ready-made Genin Printer, so it was natural for him to consider this path.

After all, this is something that can be soul-bound, he did not believe that the void disaster can still affect the player’s soul!
Moreover, referring to the creation and use of the “chat plugin”, it wasn’t hard to realize that this was actually a “skill”.

In other words, he printed out a skill and let the player learn it by binding it.

After he mastered the 37 basic runes, and then learned the construction principles of the rune set from these “skill trainers”, and deciphered the core secrets of the magic equipment, it was the same as he had mastered the rune set.

With enough material, he would be able to print out a “soul-bound rune set”.

Then, by inserting it into the player’s soul fire, the player learns the corresponding skill.

Isn’t that a skill stone?
