Chapter 703: 702 Changing Homes Changing Homes
Chapter 703 702.
Astral ripping, a term that exists in the realm of psychic knowledge for the rest of the continent, symbolizes and describes a catastrophe associated with the loss of control of psychic energy in the astral realm.
But for the Transylvanians, astral tearing is more like a newly emerged “companion phenomenon”.
The destruction of the city of Cadman came from the Great Tear in the Astral Plane, led by the Dusk in the Dark and the Tower of the Ring in the Light, and the Astral Tear in the sky, which was used to destroy the Transylvanian will to resist, has become a part of the Transylvanian people’s lives.
Especially the inhabitants of the Scarlet Fortress.
Every night when they got up to go to the toilet, they didn’t even need to carry gas lamps, the purple light emanating from the rift in the sky could completely satisfy their “lighting needs”.
In response to the Jackal Warlord’s provocation in Andromeda Hills, the Transylvanians took the initiative to utilize the destructive power of the Astral Rift for the first time, completing a near-perfect surprise attack.
The Transylvanians had made the transition from “victim” to “victimizer”.
At this point, the Astral Tearing Ceremony passed its “acceptance” and became the “grand finale” of the Transylvanians’ arsenal.
In fact, before the attack and defense of the Black Flame Pass, Murphy had seriously discussed the possibility of using the Star Realm Tearing to block the Black Plague with Tris and Phineas, but because the dimensional boundary of the Dark Mountain Range was too solid, it could only be put to rest.
It would be too difficult to open a destructive astral rift in a place other than Transylvania, not only would it require a huge amount of psychic energy, it would also require precious energy carriers as well as a large group of psychic masters who have researched the formula for mapping the astral realm.
But fate’s invisible maneuvering was just that bad.
After one disastrous day, the story of the Black Flame Pass came to an end and Murphy decided to add fuel to the fire of the Black Plague with a “mega” astral tear.
“Buzz, buzz, buzz.”
The Astral Guide Staff was vibrating, the weapon used to connect and locate the coordinates of the Astral Plane was channeling power.
The three boundary stone cores that were completely filled with psychic energy were used as mediums to feed the raging psychic energy into the metal staff through the spell formations carved by the goatsmen for blasting the boundaries of the material world, the psychic energy possessed by the three core crystals that were fully filled with energy was already astronomical, and yet Murphy was still requesting the 400 members of the Goatman Spellcasters Group and all the psychic masters of the Fortress of Courage to continue to supply energy for the rituals.
Whether they were players or NPCs, at this moment they were all asked to draw the free spiritual energy in the air to the best of their ability and infuse it into the ceremony.
Standing in the crowd, Che Che and Pigeon Treasure seemed to have returned to the feeling they had during the night of the duel at Andre’s Hills, when they were asked by Lady Tris to be part of the ceremony.
The invisible spiritual energy that was originally spreading between the sky and the earth was gathered together, forming a heavy pressure on all the spiritualists present, and they sensed that the power was rapidly gathering on the strange staff in Lord Murphy’s hand, and its power had already been compressed at its limit to the extent that the slightest loss of control could blow up the entire Fortress of Courage.
But Murphy still didn’t shout to stop.
The place where he stood had been completely enveloped by the arcs of electricity composed of berserk spiritual energy, even obscuring His Excellency the Governor’s figure to the point where only a cloud of blinding lightning could be seen.
But what made all the psychic masters feel shocked was that under the support of such a huge stream of psychic energy, that unimpressive metal staff actually did not have the slightest sign of going out of control, and it seemed that withstanding such a huge amount of energy at this time was as easy and pleasurable as a breeze on its face.
This made people have to doubt the origin of that staff.
Especially those goat people, their occasional gaze toward the staff in Murphy’s hand had turned fiery.
Manipulating such a huge amount of energy so easily, this was definitely a rare divine weapon.
Murphy didn’t pay attention to the different thoughts in the minds of the surrounding psychic masters, his attention at this time was all on the Manifestation Device in his hand, through the character card he could see that the recharge progress of the Manifestation Device had reached 72% at this time, and he was now able to unleash the power to break through the boundaries of the material world in the position of the Star Realm that had already been locked in place.
But he did not do so.
Although he didn’t really understand what would happen when it reached 100%, but considering that the nature of this counterattack had already turned into an act of vengeance at the request of the dead, Murphy didn’t mind giving the Black Flame Pass an “explosive” ending, as he claimed.
Just now, the goat astrologer Ball had already made it very clear.
The destructive power of the Great Tear in the Astral Realm is directly linked to only the area of the boundary of the material world that has been torn apart.
The Black Flame Mountain Pass itself was already large enough, and if Murphy also wanted to include the base camp of the Splintered Claw Jackals in the scope of this Astral Realm Tear in effect, then he had to ensure that there was enough destructive power when bombarding the boundary of the realm.
This was like playing with a bundle of bombs in hand while the fuse was already lit.
“I say, you’re not planning to make a semi-permanent ‘Star Realm Creation’ in the Dark Mountain Range like Transylvania, are you?”
Mannis the Infinite’s tone was a little tense this instant.
The Serpent of Time asked in a low voice:
“You weren’t planning on doing that, were you?”
“Oh? So I can still do this? So there’s an option?”
Murphy’s reply silenced the Endless One.
The Serpent of Time felt so damn talkative for a moment, but it warned anyway:
“I can understand how you feel, Murphy, I know that part of your heart that isn’t vampire-like and sensitive has been triggered again, but please also take it easy, you’re connecting to the Astral Turbulence Zone this time, and that’s dangerous enough in itself.
If the energy continues to converge, there is even that slight possibility that you will completely destroy the dimensional barrier between the real world and the astral world.
Though that possibility is as small as if you accidentally ran over a Star Realm shark while flying in the desert.
Enough!
This much energy is enough to get started!”
“What’s the rush? I was going to store energy up to 100%.”
Murphy glanced a little regretfully at the 78% stored energy of the Manifestation Device, and he was ready to blast the borders of the material world, but at the moment of starting, the Vampire Governor suddenly asked:
“I remembered that when Cadman City was destroyed earlier, many Star World creatures were thrown into the Material World, so, Mannis, would you like to come to the Material World for a spin? The one you shook today should be the powerful form, right?”
“Ha! I knew it, you bad thing, in order to make sure that the Splintered Claw Jackals suffer greatly, there’s absolutely no way that you’ll just greet them with an Astral Rip.”
The Endless One chuckled:
“Of course I wanted to take this opportunity to meet with my dear collaborator, otherwise what do you think I’ve been waiting here for? But it’s a shame we didn’t shake the Serpent of the World or the Serpent of the Stars today, it’s just a mediocre Serpent of the Mountain Shift today.
But it’s good enough!
Make it quick!
I’d love to try some wild game, too.
You know, this kind of opportunity is rare for an Astral Demigod as well, and I’m happy to help my collaborator de-flame, knowing, of course, that my helping you means you have to please me as well.”
“Understood! I’ll put an expedition to the Land of Creation on the agenda.”
Murphy nodded, coming to terms with his unorthodox Astral Guardian, and then plucked the Astral Guide Staff, wreathed in finely arced energy, from the center of the ritual, and the moment it was detached from the ritual, the psychic energy stored within the thing began to go berserk.
All the NPCs and players on the entire platform looked towards Lord Murphy in unison, and then they saw the main NPC raise the staff in a classic “Thunder God help me” gesture.
“Boom.”
The piercing spiritual energy glow rushed into the sky like a heavy fist, piercing into the precise coordinates mapped between the material world and the astral realm like a sword, and continuing to widen the crack that had been pulled open with Murphy’s swing of the staff.
Black glassy cracks eerily appeared above the sky, even though it was dawn and night, even though there was still a Dark Lord devouring the light, the commotion when the boundary of the realm shattered was still clearly visible in the eyes of everyone who tilted their heads up. Even though there wasn’t any sound, as those spiderweb-like cracks continued to spread across the sky, the little players watching this scene would all have the crisp sound of glass shattering in their minds.
This astronomical spectacle scene didn’t last long, almost the instant Murphy completed the tearing of the astral realm, the ominous white light broke through that crack in a shocking gesture, and then a strange scene like the Milky Way falling from the nine heavens came into view, the very beautiful pale light surging into the material world in an upside-down hanging gesture of a liquid rushing down.
To be honest, it was much more beautiful than the scene at the destruction of Cadman City.
It even had a quiet beauty that was almost timeless.
The milky-white points of light appeared above the black curtain that swallowed all light, and then countless points of light converged together like elongated streams of light, even leaving residual traces on the retinas of everyone who watched.
Those points of light were pulsating like a river of stars and quicksand hanging down, like a romantic scene depicted in a fairy tale.
Underneath this beautiful appearance, however, lay the horrifying rush of disordered turbulence in the material world, the most dangerous energy in the astral realm that could distort time and space as well as the concept of existence, which began to take effect the moment it entered the present world.
The moment they touched the Black Flame Mountain Pass, they “scraped off” a layer of mountain rock.
Not engulfed, not rolled back, but the rules of the two realms collision triggered the annihilation, such as the collision of positive and negative matter to make each other perish, resulting in energy collision so that the already miserable black flame mountain pass silently more broken open.
It was not known whether it was an illusion or not, but Murphy clearly heard a scream from the Dark Lord who was recklessly devouring the light on top of the distant position, and then the expanding dark power retracted back as quickly as it was frightened.
It seemed that even the Evil God of Old was unwilling to come into contact with those dangerous pale lights.
Definitely not so much as to be injured, but it would definitely be very painful.
But the disorderly turbulence rushing out of the sky rift was increasing, that dangerous white light trapped the flailing one in a position that it couldn’t escape from, and Heather wouldn’t allow it to escape, and with the helmet already removed to break the seal, the only way to win more time for her compatriots in the material world to prepare for defense was to take the fellow with her and plummet to the astral realm.
The Dark Lord was roaring and snarling, and if He could have affected Murphy’s mind, perhaps He would have been spitting obscenities by now.
However, the Transylvanian Governor didn’t even bother to pay attention to Him.
Murphy’s attention was on the jackals’ side, and he watched with satisfaction as the “Astral Cascade” he had attracted descended from the nine heavens, like the application of a tangible hand or like mercury cascading down to the ground, and first engulfed all of the dog-heads of the Black Flame Pass in the large swaths of black smoke weaved by the filthy spiritual energy, and then continued to surge outward.
In just ten seconds or so, it engulfed the vanguard position of the Splintered Claw Jackals.
With the help of Refnor’s high altitude vision, it allowed him to clearly see the Jackals running wildly on their seat wolves in terror, trying to avoid the Spirit Realm rift behind them that was engulfing everything, just like when the people of Cadman City tried to escape this unmitigated disaster.
They howled frantically, like beasts fleeing before a sandstorm, but were devoured piece by piece in a strange explosion.
But that was only the beginning!
Murphy knew that the rift in the astral realm he had opened today was big enough to fill it with all those Splintered Claw Jackals and their lapdogs who thought they had won.
At the twenty-seventh second of the Great Star Realm Rip, the surface buildings of the Black Flame Pass completely disappeared.
Sixty-first second of the Star Realm Great Tear, the tens of thousands of Split Claw Clan’s vanguard were all but wiped out under the wash of the disorderly turbulence.
Star Realm Great Tear third minute and seventeen seconds, the Dark Lord disappeared into the energy rewind of the Star Realm Rift as the underground rock formations of the entire eighth position shattered.
At the fifth minute and thirty-five seconds of the Great Tear in the Astral Realm, Dusk’s carefully prepared undead warriors rushed out of the ground and then disappeared into the material world.
At the seventh minute and twenty seconds of the Great Tear in the Astral Realm, the wash of disorderly turbulence in the Astral Realm ends, and is replaced by a huge amount of foul psychic energy forming a foul storm that covers the entire Black Flame Pass.
At the thirteenth minute of the Star Realm Tear, the Splintered Claw Clan’s base camp was completely engulfed by the storm of filthy spiritual energy.
This was just the beginning!
In terms of Cadman City’s experience, this storm of filth that was enough to kill the minds of all living things would take at least seven to fifteen days to dissipate, and the dimensional rift that Murphy had torn open in the air, which was twice as big as Transylvania’s Star Realm Creation, would take at least a few months to heal.
During these months, the entire Dark Mountain Range would enter the period of active astral spiritual energy due to the shattering of the boundary of the material world.
This meant that as long as the players and NPC psychics were prepared, they could unleash small-scale Astral Realm Tears to their heart’s content anytime they wanted to in the large swaths of the Dark Mountains that favored Transylvania.
Yup.
Murphy’s counterattack was never the only one!
If the Transylvanians had opened the deadliest weapon in their arsenal, the barbarians would not be good enough to put it back until it had had its fill of blood.
It was to be expected that the jackals would probably grow accustomed to the war that had suddenly opened up in the tearing of the astral plane from this day forward, but no one would feel sad for them.
This is what they have “won” for themselves with their strength.
“The Jackals have been trying to frighten us with their brutality since the beginning of the Black Plague, but if they knew what has happened to the Transylvanians in the last six months, they would know that their brutality and power would only look ignorant and ridiculous to us.
They actually think that using plague weapons will seal the deal.
What a lovely thought.”
Murphy’s low voice echoed across the dead silent platform as he whispered:
“They’ve completely pissed us off. If they’re really going to compete to see who’s tougher, I think the odds are that the Transylvanians shouldn’t lose to the Jackals in that regard.”
The Governor shrugged off his hand and retracted his Astral Guiding Staff as he looked back behind him at the goatman astrologer, Pol, as he said:
“I don’t know what you want from me, but I’ll give you a promise for 10 times! For the next half a month, you command the psionics under your command to unleash a minimum of 10 astral rips in the territory of the Split Claw Clan.
If you can do that, whatever you want is negotiable.”
“I just want to save our god.”
The goatman astrologer humbly bent down, and beside him old Finley and the female goatman spellcaster bent down as well, and it said:
“We will complete 15 astral tears in your name, and ask only that you help our god, Vidya, King of All Spells! You can help our god, whose divine power has been reactivated and had left traces in the Scarlet Fortress.
We have confirmed this.”
“Then do it, I already know many gods, and the friendship of one more shouldn’t be too much of a problem.”
Murphy waved his hand.
He switched his viewpoint to the Spirit Vulture Reyvno, and as the Blood Eater Spirit Vulture soared across the dark earth, Murphy quickly caught a glimpse of a luxurious Jackal War Vehicle frantically retreating to safety in a “Catch a Shrimp Household” stance, with the Splintered Claw Clan’s elite cavalrymen guarding the vehicle.
It was the car of the Splintered Claw’s mother.
As Reyvno gazed at the vehicle, the already shaken mother of Portana also noticed the sight, and she rushed to the window and tilted her head up, her cloudy gaze meeting Murphy’s vulture’s eyes.
Through those blood vulture eyes, Potana seemed to see Murphy’s eyes.
She gritted her teeth and madly cursed that damned vampire lord, what kind of crazy lunatic would risk the borders of the material world being completely shattered to launch such a horrible suicide attack?
Did we Jackals eat your Transylvanian rice?
What’s the point of being so crazy?
Murphy also noticed Lord Mother Potana’s insults, and he whispered:
“Is that the foul mouth you kissed your mother with? What an underprivileged barbarian.”
“Mannis, do it!”
