458. Chapter 456: 455 The Swamp and the Giant Snake as Brothers of Wine and Wine
Chapter 456 455. The Swamp and the Giant Snake – For Brother “Wine and Words” [2125].
Not only Colonel Fraser and Chief Hogg felt the vibration of the filthy swamp, at this time has been in the swamp battle line in the siege of the student party more aware of when this ghost movement occurred.
When the first wave of vibrations came, Che Che, who was resting in the recently captured Post 6, immediately jumped up, and the extremely high level of education that had been cultivated from many battles made him spread his wings and scampered out high into the air with little hesitation in an attempt to gain a better observation position in the air.
However, this swamp was shrouded in a large amount of fog of war, preventing Che Che from seeing anything of value at all.
From high above, he could only barely make out a throbbing light in the eastern direction scurrying up through the dim smoke, like a firecracker being lit under the haze.
“Come on, come on! Get on line on line!”
Che Che landed in the guard post immediately got offline and sat up from his bunk without even taking off his helmet before shouting to the others in the dormitory who were farting and chatting just after breakfast:
“Something’s wrong, there’s movement in the direction of Plague Town, I don’t know what’s going on but I think we can take the opportunity to launch another wave of attacks.”
“Immediately! I’ll call the gym students, Bull was resurrected a few days ago as well, we have Shield T’s that can charge without worry.”
The dormitory was suddenly haunted.
In less than five minutes, the dormitory six had all awakened in the post, and Badger blew the horn used for contact, allowing the members of the Devil’s Eight Jackpot set beyond the post to command their skeleton army to move this way as well.
The process from Cart’s observation of the mutation to these guys organizing an offensive flowed smoothly, and when the second wave of shocks arrived fifteen minutes later, the vampires were already attacking towards the seventh post under the cover of their own skeleton army.
This mobilization power could not be said to be top notch in the entire continent, but it was already second to none in Transylvania’s military sequence, however the result was not very good.
Although there was indeed a problem on the side of Plague Town, the defense line on the outskirts of the town didn’t slacken as a result.
The attack of the student party crashed headlong into the tightly defended fire net of the undead army in front of them, and after holding out for ten minutes under the attack of various spirit energy spells and covering bone arrow throwing spears, they withdrew back with the loss of a group of skeleton army pioneers.
“This situation is not right!”
The Goo Goo Chicken that almost got its head blown off by a corrosive ray wiped the stains on its face while jumping to its feet and cursing:
“How is this counterattack force even stronger than yesterday? There are actually three necromancers guarding that big-ass outpost in front of us! What the hell, isn’t this the outer defense line?”
“First of all, if we break through post seven that means we’ve made a breakthrough and driven a wedge in the area near Plague Town, and it’s only right that they focus their defenses on that.
Secondly, our activity over the past few days seems to have changed the mobilization of the Skeleton Army, and they’re starting to focus on defending the area we’re in.”
Badger said as he sheathed his twin swords and rubbed his chin thoughtfully:
“No wonder Stick and Woo Meow Brother’s sides aren’t in a hurry to attack, those two cunning guys probably realized this change a long time ago, this is waiting for us to draw fire before making a breakthrough from the other two directions.”
“Shit! Then do we still have to continue?”
Che Che cursed obscurely:
“Wouldn’t we be doing others a favor if we continue with this head iron?”
“No, no, no, things can’t be seen that way.”
The “Fire Demon Holy Lord” who had just attacked with the student party was leaning on an evil bone staff adorned with a goat’s skull, shaking his head and wagging his finger, saying:
“Right now we’re the ones who are losing out, but as long as both of them break through the peripheral defenses in one go and get closer to the Plague Town than we are, then the protruding part of the battlefield will become theirs, and with the current thinking that these Jackals have shown in deploying their troops, the more difficult town defenses will be reinforced to the south and the north because of this.
In this way, the pressure on us when we attacked near the plague town was instead minimized.
This ah, this is called a pincer attack and a flexible change in battlefield posture.”
“I’m not well read, don’t lie to me, I remember that the pincer attack isn’t like this, right? I’ve been reading the history of volunteer warfare lately.”
Pigeon Treasure spat, but then said with a straight face:
“But the Holy Lord is right, right now the three fronts are in a relationship of mutual cooperation, we are one group, so don’t worry too much about such trivial matters. But we have to agree with both sides in advance, lest we get dragged into it when they get into some tawdry maneuvers.
That said, what exactly happened over in Plague Town?
Why is this vibration getting more and more intense?
Could it be the Jackal Warlocks preparing an earthquake spell to try and finish us off? But it’s not quite like this movement.”
—
“Forward! Press up! Hurry!”
At the same time as the outer front was under attack, a huge army of Necromancers was rapidly advancing under the towering mountain passes leading to the swampy forbidden zone in the eastern part of Plague Town.
Led by a hundred Underworld Knights, assaulting zombies in rudimentary armor with crude weapons in their hands trekked through the mucky ponds, and in the murky air there were also Demon Heart Grudges, which were even more dangerous and brutal than ordinary grudges, screaming at the top of their voices as they flew forward in hordes.
The most vulnerable of the skeletal cavalry stood guard on the periphery, while the necromancers and skeletal mages, who specialized in long-range attacks, were organized into arrays led by a dozen or so jackal warlocks who each shaped a wide range of freezing winds to make the swamp’s terrain easy to move forward.
These undead were specially shaped in the Tectonic Tower for today’s action, and they were given a speed level specialization that allowed them to move through the swamp as well.
In the air, several bipedal flying dragons adorned with clan armor carried the Flesh Tearing Warlock and several of his cronies to scout the situation at high altitude while making timely adjustments to the battlefield.
They had now officially entered the forbidden zone of the swamp.
But the first wave of attackers was not the legendary swamp serpent, but a group of wild beasts living in the swamp, from large crocodiles to swamp tigers to hideous bloodsucking spiders and venomous bats, all the dangerous beasts existing in this swamp jumped out almost in one head.
They could not even talk about cooperation and command, they just relied on their biological instincts to attack, but the large number of beasts did cause some trouble for the undead army’s advance.
This unexpected encounter was actually the Jackal Warlocks’ own fault.
They had been awakening the swamp undead on a large scale for several years in Plague Town, and had also discharged the waste materials from the Tectonic Towers, resulting in the swamp ecology in this area being destroyed, and the beasts living nearby had no choice but to migrate.
Currently, it seems that most of the swamp beasts have migrated to the forbidden zone, and they have formed a set of food chain here, allowing their own community to redevelop, Torn Flesh even saw giant bio-individuals among the swamp tigers that pounced on the vanguard, applying the power system of humanoid creatures, these are the beasts of the Black Iron rank individual, and even among the beasts there are even more dangerous elite individuals in the herd.
“The source of the creatures’ power in this swamp has always been a mystery.”
In the saddle of the bipedal flying dragon, the old jackal thought as he narrowed his cloudy eyes:
“When we first came here, there was even a precedent of a savage soldier being carried off by a godless crocodile, it’s hard to say how many unique individuals are hidden in this swamp, and I wouldn’t be surprised even if a giant beast of the Silver rank jumped out in it.
This doesn’t seem to be a natural ecology, even in the Dark Mountain Range, there have never been large-scale scenes of so many elite beasts collectively appearing.
Hey, if I wasn’t carrying a mission on my back, the mysteries and truths hidden beneath the surface of the Filthy Swamp alone would be worth exploring.”
“What are you thinking?”
Just at the moment when Torn Flesh was pondering, a hoarse voice suddenly rang out from the side, causing the old jackal to twist his head to look.
Next to his bipedal flying dragon was a luxurious and wide “magic carpet”, the finest leather and exquisite runic thread weaving, coupled with the pearl tassels embellished on its surrounding contours, gave this flying psychic energy carrier a fantasy charm.
Its driver was sitting on top of the magic carpet.
It was a guy who covered his body with a red hood and even wore full-coverage gloves on his fingers.
But from the size of his body, you could tell it was a man, with a still-cooking teapot and smoldering incense beside him, and a book in his own hand, it didn’t look like he’d run to fight, but more like a psychic’s outing.
If you look closely, the cover of the book in this guy’s hand clearly reads “Kappe’s Travels – Walking with Vampires”.
Tsk, this is still Colonel Frazier’s “wild fan”. This mysterious person is the “source” adults sent to support the plague clan guy, but Torn meat does not like him, in addition to the old jackal for the dusk forces of vigilance, but also because Torn meat from this guy can feel a sense of danger.
Although this is only a silver-ranked psychic master like him, Torn Flesh guessed that once there is a conflict, the probability is that he is not the opponent of this guy.
The servants of Dusk had all sorts of strange abilities, that were not great powers that the material world could grant.
Facing this guy’s inquiry, Torn Meat said in a calm tone:
“I’m just pondering the truth of this swamp, I can feel that its mysteries are not much easier than the secret treasure of the Jackals we’re looking for.”
“Congratulations, Your Excellency Torn Flesh, your senses are correct.”
The psychic sitting on the magic carpet let out a slight chuckle and said:
“But I advise you not to delve too deeply into it, the truth of the Filthy Swamp is not something you can comprehend, and it actually comes from a much bigger place than you can imagine. In addition to aiding you in obtaining the secret treasure of the King of Biting Bones, I also have a mission entrusted to me by the organization this time.
I must bring back one thing for my organization from the source of the swamp.
And once I have accomplished this, this swamp will fade of all its magic and mystery, so that it can no longer be a hindrance that interferes with the advancement of the Black Plague into Transylvania’s territory.
As you know, a large part of the reason why the first four Black Plagues you initiated were unable to storm the continent in one fell swoop was due to the impediment of the Tainted Swamp.
Even the King of Biting Bones was unable to conquer this swamp…
That said, aren’t you curious as to why the perfect leader born of the Jackal clan must enter the Filthy Swamp at the moment of defeat?”
The mysterious psychic said in a subtle tone:
“It wasn’t that it could only escape into this place out of desperation, according to the information I have, at that time, the King of Biting Bones still had the last of the Hunting Forbidden Guards blessed by the Lord of the Hunt in its hands, and relying solely on that legion it could have completely broken through the siege to return to the Mossy Valley.
But it didn’t do that.
Instead, it threw all of its only remaining forces at hand into this swampy forbidden area, and guess, Lord Torn Flesh, why would your king make such a crazy move at the end of his rope?”
The question froze Torn Flesh for a moment, but soon the jackal warlock whispered:
“Does the King of Biting Bones think that there is a power hidden here that could turn it against the world?”
“Well, I can’t give you an answer to that.”
The psionicist waved his hand and said in a deliberately appetizing manner:
“No matter what is in the forbidden zone, that is not a power you can covet, it has been brought to the attention of Lord ‘Source’, so it will end up only being driven and used by us, if only to right this wrong era.
Ha, the true master of this place has shown himself, and your little army is about to meet its true challenge.”
Torn Flesh immediately looked up and ahead.
The undead army he had formed had already broken down the swamp beasts’ obstacles, and the twenty Underworld Knights at the head were leading the assaulting zombies over a strangely shaped wall of debris.
As soon as the first Underworld Knight crossed that boundary, violent vibrations rang out from the area shrouded in mist.
It was as if the entire swamp had come to life in this instant, as if the earth had shaken.
The frozen area that the jackal warlocks had just created was instantly torn apart by the tumbling mud and water, and in a disturbing low, desolate, distant roar, a huge thing appeared in front of Torn Flesh and the other jackal warlocks.
Just like the scene in Jurassic Park when the Brachiosaurus made its debut, the first thing that caught the eye was the slender neck like a giraffe, like a tower towering above, the length of this guy’s neck alone was more than thirty meters, it was hard to imagine the shocking scene when this behemoth’s size was fully stretched out.
Part of its body was hidden in the mire, and it was running wildly towards the undead who had crossed the “boundary”, and the surrounding swampy mist also changed, and a strange power began to fill up in the tumbling mist.
“Prepare for hysteresis!”
Torn Flesh immediately shouted, a few seconds later, several Jackal Plague Warlocks combined their efforts and threw a creature stasis spell forward, a wide range of violet light pulsating in the speed of the wildly approaching beast suddenly reduced, however, the next moment, with an even more furious roar of the stasis spell’s effect was instantly torn apart.
Before Torn Flesh could make his next decision, the beast suddenly disappeared like a flash, and when it reappeared it had already arrived at the center of the undead army.
Now without the thick cloud cover, everyone could finally see the figure of the legendary swamp serpent.
It had a round body that didn’t quite match its slender neck, and its four short and thick claws were clasped under the swamp, allowing it to stand steadily.
But what attracted the most attention was the giant snake’s skin.
It was as luxurious as gemstones, and also showed different colors with the changing light, making it look like a precious beast made of diamonds.
The head at the top of the neck was very powerful, with tiger eyes and fish whiskers, a unicorn horn, and a beautiful and dashing cloud mane dotted above the neck, like a stegosaurus-like bone plate extending along the spine all the way to the inverted triangular engineering hammer-like tail.
This appearance alone really deserves the words “legendary creature”.
However, in stark contrast to its delicate and majestic face was its ferocity; the moment it appeared, its jeweled skin looked like an explosion of pent-up energy.
A blinding light radiated outward from Ninkinanka’s center to cover nearly three hundred yards, like a small sun exploding in the swamp, and all creatures illuminated by the light, whether they were undead or jackal warlocks, were inflicted with an ineluctable disorientation and blindness spell.
As Torn Flesh watched with wide eyes, the swamp beast roared and raised its body up and then slammed it down, and the moment its body touched the ground, a large range of Earthquake spells and War Trample bombarded those unlucky ones who were unable to dodge or defend themselves at all.
Except for a few Underworld Knights who were still barely standing, the rest of the undead were crushed into the rolling swamp water under this super heavy blow, and the weaker undead were even crushed on the spot.
Just this set of strikes caused Torn Flesh to lose one tenth of its army, and made it truly understand the weight of the words “Legendary Creature”.
This was simply not a match for mortals!
“Hey, I was hoping that you guys would be able to perform a miracle.”
The mysterious psychic master on the magic carpet spoke in a sarcastic tone.
Before Torn Flesh could get angry, this guy stood up from the magic carpet and pulled out a peculiarly shaped “staff” from his psionic bag, placing it in his hand and activating some kind of device to aim forward and lock onto the giant snake that was playing havoc in the swamp below.
A blinding flash of light flashed past, and in the low roar of the beast, the space around the huge thing was shattered like a sea of stars closing in on its teeth, and in the snake’s struggle it was “swallowed up” in one gulp.
“The time of exile from the astral realm is only thirty minutes.”
The man whispered with his staff:
“Ninkinanka can survive in the Astral Plane, we need to find what you want and get out of here before it returns.”
“But where is the nest of giant snakes.”
Torn Flesh was a bit worried, only to be snickered at by the psychic:
“Don’t be afraid, it’s the only one in Zone A of the swamp eco-zone, and its mate was beheaded by the vampire Venerable Lord Paying himself a thousand years ago, so as long as you and your soldiers don’t run off hand to hand to other zones you won’t attract any more ‘exhibits’.
Let’s go.
The Land of Creation is just ahead, and there isn’t much time left for you and me.”
