425.Chapter 423 422 Carpe Holiday Transylvania’s women are not good

Chapter 423 422.Carpe Holiday-Transylvania’s women are not to be messed with (2)

As Major Ron awoke early the next morning in his comfortable bed, he sat up with a yawn of relaxation from the exhaustion that had worn off after a complete rest.

While rubbing his eyes with the intention of going to wash up, he put on his jacket and stepped out of the bedroom before being shocked.

“How did you get yourself into this mess!”

The Major looked in shock at Colonel Fraser who was sitting in a chair in the living room.

The guy had a half-drunk bottle of booze in his drunken hands, his otherwise decent dress coat was thrown on the floor, his expensive shoes were spread out from side to side, and his expensive shirt was covered in wine stains.

This was the kind of bad grooming that should never appear on the heir of the Capay family, yet it just happened.

“Hey! Did I miss any exciting drama last night?”

Ron rushed forward to check on the situation, and then realized that Fraser wasn’t actually drunk, or rather, he hadn’t drunk much, and there was still a good portion of wine left in the bottle, so at best, the guy was just a couple of drinks in extent.

But the fact that this was all it took to get him into this state was a clear indication that it wasn’t the alcohol that really made this guy disheveled.
Faced with Ron’s inquiry, Fraser was silent.

The Major was left with no way out for a while, well there were still two hours before the time they were scheduled to talk to Governor Murphy last night, so Major Ron hurriedly contacted the only person he could contact in Scarlet Castle at the moment who could help.

Ten minutes later, with the neighing of a warhorse, the proud blonde female knight, “Honorary Vanguard Officer of the Knights of the Riptide”, who was full of energy, Miss Becky, came over in a flurry of anger to help her fiancé, who was both weak and in trouble.

When she kicked open the door of the room, Major Ron, who had already helped Frazier change his clothes, stared in disbelief at the standard set of vampire-style armor on Miss Becky.

He exclaimed:

“The young lady of the Xavier family has defected to vampirism? Geez! This hellhole of Transylvania is really one-dimensional in every way.”

“You’re overthinking it, it’s just a gift from my grandfather to his favorite precious little granddaughter.”

Becky didn’t care about that.

She strides forward clutching her cool vulture battle helmet, and just as she approaches, she cringes at the smell of alcohol on Fraser’s body.

As a female knight who held herself to a strict code of classical knighthood, Miss Bikki was not a fan of men who indulged in enjoyment with reckless abandon.

This was very different from the Fraser she remembered.

“Raven be good and help.”

She spoke to her squire, and the dark-haired, dark-pupiled knight of half-dragon descent shrugged and reached up to snap his fingers.

A greenish aura of psychic energy flew around Fraser in the form of a breeze blowing in a circle, the coolness into his head sobering the disheveled colonel instantly, unable to numb his loss and frustration with alcohol any longer.

After he sobered up, he saw the face of the angry Becky who was crouching in front of him, staring at him with a “hateful” look.

“Ugh, I screwed up.”

Fraser whispered:

“Miriam broke with me, that’s not the problem, the real problem is that I can’t understand why she’s so angry, and I suddenly realized that I don’t actually know her at all.”

“Ha, I knew it!”

After hearing this reply, Biki, who was still furious just a moment ago, immediately grinned widely.

She hooked her finger towards the Raven Knight who had a displeased face, and the squire helplessly took out a gold coin from his belt pouch and placed it in Becky’s hand.

This was a bet.

Becky bet her that Fraser would come with gusto and surely return disappointed, and as it turned out, Becky’s strange brain was truly gifted in such matters.

She had almost perfectly predicted Fraser’s defeated dog stance at this point.

And this scene made Colonel Fraser outraged, and having been struck by back-to-back blows, he growled somewhat emotionally out of control:
“You! You actually bet on your fiancé’s misery? Becky ah Becky! What kind of blonde devil are you?”

“I just wanted to prove that I’m not actually stupid, and it turns out I’m not the dumbest one in our three complicated relationships.

It makes me feel pleasurable.”

Bikki moved to the chair next to her, skillfully crossing her legs and hiking them together in a “big brother sitting position” commonly used by small players.

She spread her arms out on the side of the chair in a relaxed, “bossy” stance, and hummed again as Major Ron leaned back against the wall to watch the action unfold:
“I knew you’d have a hard time with Miriam, and you were right, Fraser, you don’t know her at all.

You just know that Miriam was born into a poor family, what happened to her in the first half of her life, the story of her struggles in Transylvania and the fact that she got lucky and met Governor Murphy and then chickened out.

You think you’ve gotten to the bottom of Miriam’s heart, however, she’s a lot more complicated than you think.

The simplest thing I’ve come to realize after becoming close friends with her is that underneath Miriam’s frail exterior lies a soul that is tougher and stronger than mine, than yours, and than everyone else in this room combined.

The natives called their scarlet consul a model for all women.

They don’t say that lightly!

You think you’re helping Miriam find her birthright, bringing her the true nobility of blood and honor, allowing her to rightfully escape from the underclass
You thought you were helping her.

But you overlooked, or rather you never realized, that Miriam didn’t need any of this at all!
She doesn’t need all this recognition and praise from others to live a good life, even if, in my opinion, it would be humiliating to drag today’s Miriam into our conservative, closed circle.

She’s got a brighter future on her own than 99% of the aristocracy.

To preach about the superiority of bloodlines in front of someone who started from nothing, ignoring all their efforts and attributing her achievements to the so-called ‘honorable bloodline’ left to her by an irresponsible father.
Ha, my poor Fraser, are you sure you are seeking to please a woman and not humiliate her in the most pathetic way?

But look on the bright side.”

Brigitte ruffled her long blonde hair as she flirted with an odd smile:
“The fact that Miriam didn’t copy the Hammer Guard and shoot you in the brain with a single shot after you took out your carefully prepared ‘gift’ already proves that you do have an extraordinary position in her heart. Therefore, you should feel proud.

She doesn’t take kindly to other men.”

“???”

These words caused Fraser to fall silent, but caused Major Ron beside him to round his eyes as he finally figured out the cause and effect, and he exclaimed:
“So, that Miriam Consul is actually a descendant of a Westland noble? She possesses noble blood and is one of us? Ha! So that’s how it is! No wonder Fraser can’t get enough of her, such an identity can indeed convince Earl Lyon to recognize her.

Fraser’s little plan is really loud.”

“So, you’re a machismo-fueled fool as well!”

Becky glanced disdainfully at Major Ron as she grunted and said:
“You didn’t even understand what I just said! Listen to me you two, Ms. Miriam taught me not to see myself as subservient to men, much less lower my personality to the level of taking the cake as you please.

I thought I was determined and brave enough, but it turns out I was nothing more than a coward who pretended to be brave but wasn’t brave at all.

She is the true warrior!

She taught me what it means to really fight back, and that’s to beat you guys hard in the areas you excel in and even dominate!
The stupidest thing about Fraser was that he was in love with Miriam, but he went after her in the stupidest way possible.

He puts his lineage above his love, and even his search for a mate has to be based on the fact that Miriam is part of the so-called ‘our’ circle before he dares to take the next step!
Dare he say that he sought the Beverly family inheritance for Miriam just to help poor Ms. Cynthia find everything she deserved?

NO!
He must have had that part of his reasoning because he believed in his bones that his origins would not allow him to spend his life with a commoner lady.

He’s been killed and maimed by pedigree too much.

The so-called bloodline-makes-glory rhetoric has blinded him, hmm, no wonder Professor Malcolm has never had a very high opinion of you, Fraser. You learned a lot at the halfling’s university, but those didn’t manage to change your undertones.

You may act courteous and humble, but that’s only part of what you consider to be your aristocratic demeanor not because of how much respect you really have for the toiling masses.

Well, I have to admit, I used to be one of those people.

Hypocritical and self-consciously noble, pompous and deeply humble, stupid and pretending to be wise, slow and not hiding my clumsiness.

But I’ve come to recognize the illusion of it all with my grandfather’s correction, I’ve seen with my own eyes how the bottom rungs of Transylvania were knighted and how they grew up, and that made me realize that our ancestors were nothing more than the same as they were, and that the blood that flows through us isn’t much nobler than the blood of those who supposedly carry the ‘smell of earth’.

We are just trying to make ourselves noble and try to classify the world by class or honor and make the world work the way we want it to, but do you know what?
But you know what? The world has its own rules, and we are the only ones who are really bound by them! It’s stupid.

It’s like a monkey putting on human clothes and thinking he’s becoming a human being.”

Becky shrugged and said:

“Bloodline never makes one inherently noble! People’s elf princes don’t treat their own countrymen with such arrogance. So don’t put gold on your face, Fraser, you have to remember that before your grandfather’s generation, the Carpe family was nothing more than a ragged noble.

Mrs. Tris has told me that story more than once.

Your grandfather was so poor he couldn’t even afford to stay at an inn when he met Lady Tris, with an empty title and name, and Mr. Skanderpay’s only thought in those days was to fill his stomach every day.

If you and Miriam were swapped.
You can do even less than a tenth of what she can do, from this point of view, in front of her, you are the real weakling, you have to recognize your own situation!
So set your mind and position right.

You need to realize this, Miriam is not one of those stories where she’s a silly white girl who just lies around in her boudoir waiting for you to get laid.

She is the consul of Transylvania!

Over two hundred thousand people are under her administration.

One of her orders can keep your superior Marshal Loren up at night, and one of her deeds can allow Her Majesty, the Wolf Woman, to initiate reforms that will affect a nation!

That’s something even your father would have a hard time doing.

In such a comparison, your quest would have been little easier than pushing a rock up a hill, well, that story was really interesting, you should go to Professor Malcolm’s and listen to it.

What was the name of the main character in that story, Leaven?”

“Sisyphus, my lady.”

Raven Knight replied in a calm tone:

“You are right, both Colonel Fraser and Major Ron should go and listen to Professor Malcolm’s lecture, it will help to cleanse their minds of the arrogance that is ingrained in them as belonging to a noble male.

Lady Miriam’s break with you is only showing you that your ways will not work in Transylvania! And the thing about love is that it’s not a prize bestowed by a noble lord on a Cinderella of humble birth.”

“Hey, look at our proud Fraser as a defeated rooster.”

Becky stood up and stepped forward to lift Fraser’s chin up, and the blonde knightess kissed Fraser gently on the forehead as she spoke in a voice that only the two could hear:

“I’m sorry, Fraser, but not only have you lost Miriam’s favor, but even I don’t approve of you as much as I used to. Because I suddenly realized . You’ve humiliated my character in the same way before.

Professor Malcolm has been learning some strange things lately, and he told me that one cannot betray one’s class, and frankly, I don’t quite understand the intricacies.

But I can guess that if you were asked to choose between your own family and Miriam, you would certainly be less likely to choose Miriam.

So, what I’m saying is, give it up!

You’re too low on the segment.
You’re going to be mercilessly run over by Miriam, and in practical terms, as someone who’s been there, I’ll tell you that feeling really sucks.

Of course, our contract still stands.

If you can’t gain Miriam’s favor, and can’t conquer my mind which has already broken through the boundaries and can only vent the anger of a cowardly man by conquering my body, I’ll still be happy to be your bride~
But will you do that? My proud Hokage-sama.”

After throwing down these words, Bikki crossed her arms and let out an unscrupulous laugh like the arch-villain, and then with a ladylike bow of farewell to the silent Fraser and the dumbfounded Ron, she swaggered around and turned to leave with the Raven Knight, who had a subtle expression on her face.

The two men were wide-eyed in the room.

After several minutes, Major Ron rubbed his chin and said:
“Uh, frankly, I couldn’t understand or read it, but I was greatly impressed. Fraser, Transylvania really is a hellhole, isn’t it?

Not only are the men here nuts, but even the women are so wild, and your little follower, Miss Becky, has no doubt been influenced by their deviant ideas.

For the sake of the family legacy, I think you’d better hurry up and take Miss Bickie back, it’s not good to stay like this any longer.”

“You’re asking me to kidnap the Nantes Ranger, the Knight of the Grail, and the Scarlet Bailiff’s favorite little granddaughter under his nose?”

Fraser said slyly:
“Are you thinking that the two of us are just starting out in life are too boring, so you’re going to give yourself a boost of intensity?
My silver guards tell me that the four of them together would be no match for Lord Kudel, that legendary knight’s strength has broken through again and is infinitely close to the gold rank, he only needs to step over a hurdle to ascend to the pinnacle of that power.

What’s more, there’s still a Spiritual Energy Lord sitting in the Scarlet Fortress.”

“Then how is this going to work?”

Major Ron spread his hands helplessly and spat:

“You’re a cooked duck that grew wings and flew away, and the swan that you wanted to catch is no longer paying attention to you, so you’re going to become a loner if this continues.”

“Ch, I’m only thirty, I’m still young.”

Fraser gritted his teeth and got up.

Walking over to the window to look out at the scarlet fortress in the dawn morning light, he reached up and unbuttoned the first button of his shirt, his mind echoing with the anger and bemusement of last night when Miriam had told him to get the hell out.

It was the first time since he was a boy that he’d been treated like that by a woman .
It was nice!

Woman! You’ve managed to get my attention. I’m kind of stuck with you!

“Pack up and get ready to go talk to Governor Murphy, even though things aren’t going well on private matters, business can’t be delayed because of this.”

Fraser took a deep breath to calm himself down.

He tried to bring himself back to the shrewdness and strength he once had and turned back to Ron:

“We must finalize the matter of the quarters and the distribution of duties today, and in addition, if possible, we need to reach a series of mutual assistance agreements with Governor Murphy”

“Uh, I know I shouldn’t talk about this at this time, but have you considered that these agreements will most likely not be negotiated with us by Governor Murphy.”

Major Ron whispered:
“Consul Miriam is the one who’s really in charge, which means you’re going to be engaged in a war of words today with the woman who humiliated you last night.

Are you really up to that?”

“Of course I can!”

Fraser said as he moved his shoulders like a belligerent lion, a certain gleam in his eyes:
“I’m full of fight now.”

“Tsk, tsk, tsk, I like the way this story is going, don’t you?”

In his office in the Blood Wyvern Cloister, Murphy leaned back in his chair and embraced Archduke Tris.

The core jewel in front of both of them projected Colonel Fraser’s furious face, and at their fingertips was a bucket of “Caramel Popcorn”, which had just been developed by the chef, Star Soul Eagle.

This gesture is like an old couple who are catching up with the drama.

In the face of Murphy’s inquiry, Tris rolled her eyes, pinched the popcorn from her hand and threw it into her mouth, saying:

“Indeed, this is much more interesting than some traditional drama of Prince Charming meeting Cinderella, alas, Skanderpay’s grandson is actually already considered to be the outstanding one in the aristocratic circle, but it’s a pity that he encountered the ‘modern independent woman’ Miriam who doesn’t follow the common sense.

I must admit that in this aspect of personality conditioning, my little Murphy is nothing short of a genius.”

“Shame, shame, shame, I just played an insignificant role in it.”

Murphy embraced his girlfriend in his arms and said very modestly:
“It’s mainly because Miriam has a good base.

You know, her three-year academic career at Chardonnay University, although she studied things she was once not interested in, she did not waste her time in vain.

Knowledge!

Knowledge is the only thing that can arm a strong mind and give the spirit a minimum of dignity, and how can fools pray for them to maintain the last vestiges of their decency when they can’t even comprehend the meaning of independent personhood?
After all, the ones who only throw their weight around and like to stir up trouble over nothing can’t be called independent women.”
