Chapter 39 39 Dependent on Each Other

Chapter 39 39. dependent on each other for life
After the Star Realm rift was completely opened, the spiritual energy around Cadman City flew apart, or it would be more appropriate to call it being crushed by the more violent Star Realm spiritual energy.

At this moment, the entire city was being dragged from the material world into the astral world.

The process may have been slow, but it was advancing steadily, and the rush of psychic energy coupled with the constant bombardment of the sub-dimensional meteorites caused earthquakes and landslides to occur around the city without warning.

The old horse Murphy was riding was no longer willing to move forward as it neared the edge of the city, the perception from the beast made it fear the drastically changed city in front of it more than the whip in Murphy’s hand.

In this case Murphy decisively chose to dismount and walk.

In front of his eyes, the huge gates of Cadman City had been torn apart by the cracks that had cut through the city, and the chaotic Astral Spiritual Energy had converged into black smoke like a spider’s web wrapped around the ruins on both sides of the street, making the entire city dark and gloomy, as if a huge sandstorm had swept through the desert and blocked out all the light.

Astral spiritual energy was also spiritual energy, so it did not affect the release of spiritual masters’ skills, and even enhanced the destructive power of spiritual masters’ spells because it was too chaotic and disorganized.

The prerequisite was that the spiritual masters who were “pampered” in the material world could withstand the spiritual filth attached to the astral spiritual energy.

Murphy, holding the Blade of Desire Ethnicity in his hand, walked forward quickly, and when he encountered an obstacle, he waved his hand and shot a strengthened Darkness Blast, which blew away the obstacles in his way.

But the deeper he went, the more he could hear hissing strange sounds ringing in his ears.

In the past such phantom sounds had been present when he cast his spells, but now they echoed more clearly, and there were twisted, out-of-this-world creatures peering at the young vampire from those deep shadows around him.

They were “dumped” into the material world when the rift in the Astral Plane opened, and although they will eventually return to the Astral Plane, they don’t mind “adding a meal” to their unexpected trip, and tasting the “otherworldly flavor” as well! They will also savor the “flavor of the other world”.

But this time, the chaotic city is full of panicked people.

Compared to those carrying the delicious fear of the soul, in front of this heart burning a fire vampire is obviously not easy to deal with, so after weighing the situation, the shadows in the eyes of the peeping Murphy is much less.

But this was not a good thing.

The retreat of a clown often meant that real danger was about to appear.

With the current scale of that Star Realm rift overhead, it could never be just these small fry that were flung into the material world.

The only good news was that Tris’s manor wasn’t far from the city gates.

In the past, not being able to live in the inner city where the vampires were entrenched due to being down and out had instead become an advantage at the moment, which meant that Murphy could completely escape with Tris before things got worse as long as he made it quick.

“Ow!”

A roar so low that it went straight into the soul accompanied by a vicious wind came from behind, Murphy turned around and stabbed out a sword at the same time dodging the attack by dodging and sliding.

This kind of floating and agile sword technique was obviously not the style of the Blood Vulture’s sword technique, but the “dark pace” attached to the unique sword technique from the Shadow Elves was indeed very suitable for dealing with sneak attacks.

The vampire stood still and looked at the attacker behind him.

It was a dark cheetah.

But there were no eyes on its face instead it had two strange tentacles with chitin scales extending out from the side of its neck, the tips of the tentacles that spread out like cannibalistic flowers flashed with light, locking Murphy’s position in a dead heat.

This skeleton is not something that can be born out of the material world at a glance.

Murphy did not want to get entangled with it, backing up and throwing a psychic energy blast forward into a gale, rolling up the dust and debris on the street and dodging back to a farther place.

That strange black panther a sneak attack failed and was Murphy cut a sword, realizing that the prey is not to be messed with, then downhill also did not continue to chase.

“This won’t work!”

Murphy frowned as he surveyed the surroundings in the dimly lit ruins.

The spiritual energy from the astral world was still pouring into the material world, and if it continued like this there would only be more and more monsters in the city, so even if he rescued Tris it would be hard for him to get out of the city safely.

A safe retreat had to be cleared ahead of time.

Thinking of this, Murphy immediately grasped the core pearl hanging around his neck and injected spiritual energy into it to activate the communication between the pearls.

Before he could speak, Miriam’s scream rang out from over there:

“Murphy what the hell kind of luck are you having! Why did something like this happen just after arriving here in Cadman City? Where are you now? Maxim wants to go into the city to look for you, I can’t stop him!

Those crazy warriors of yours are still poking fire on the side, one after another, encouraging us to go into the city!
Are they crazy?
Who in their right mind would go to this place that is being destroyed?”

“Calm down!”

Murphy’s brain hurt from Miriam’s shrill voice, and he couldn’t help but yell, and the opposite side immediately quieted down.

“Now listen to me! Give Maxim a treasure pearl to help him activate it, I need him to maintain a safe passage to the east of the city gates, the walls over there have collapsed so this job isn’t too hard, my warriors will cooperate with him.

I’ll come over and meet you all as soon as I find Tris.

Remember, never! Never just go into the city!

There are many Star Realm creatures hiding in the shadows in the city sneaking up on the living, and they are very difficult and very dangerous, not something my warriors can deal with right now.

Do you hear me?”

“Oh, yes.”

Miriam was reliable in a pinch and answered and went into action.

Murphy also operated on the core pearl, and a few seconds later, the arithmetic pearls on the small players who were still foddering their troops in the “Black Storm” outside of the city, and were gripping their fists, let out a dinging sound in unison.

The mission from Murphy was triggered.

This quest is a series of quests, and the final reward is: Decoration – Blood Vulture Clan Midnight Hunter Ceremonial Uniform – Set [9/9]]

“Shit! The main quest is here, and there’s a final fashion reward, brothers! Charge!”

Brother Woo Meow raised the blood-colored halberd in his hand and swung it forward.

Eleven players then excitedly ran beside the anxious Maxim like wild dogs off the leash, and the loyal servant didn’t say much as he led them right to the location where the city wall had collapsed in a dimly lit environment.

Miriam had not wanted to get into this mess.

But she stayed here alone is basically the same as sending death, so she can only bring a shotgun and follow the players as a “support NPC”.

However, these guys were in a hurry and seemed to have forgotten one thing.

In the carriage they left not far from the city, the coffin containing Mrs. Adele kept making clicking noises, because the erosion of the berserk astral spiritual energy caused Mrs. Adele to wake up early.

“Bang.”

After a muffled sound, the entire coffin panel flew out.

The huge attack even broke the carriage’s shed, and Lady Adele, who was lying in the coffin, rubbed her forehead and sat up.

Her last memory was still stuck in the images of the battle with Jopan Markie in the smuggler’s woodland, and she knew nothing about what had happened in the past two or three days, and only vaguely had some memories about the process of the first embrace.

She blinked her eyes, which had become scarlet, and her sharper senses swept around her, finding neither her venerable elder nor Miss Phemis.

Had she been left here?
And what was all this storming psychic energy around them? Adele got up and stepped out of the shattered carriage, and then the pupils of her eyes dilated in shock as she saw the city of Cadman being dragged into the astral realm and the absolutely abnormal surroundings around her and realized that something was wrong.

Though she hadn’t fully adjusted to her new power, she knew she had to get going.

“Huh?”

As Adele retrieved her bayonet and hand cannon from the coffin, she suddenly felt some additional knowledge in her mind, which seemed to be a summoning technique bestowed upon her by her venerable elder.

The fiery-featured and cold-faced lady housekeeper hesitated for a moment before attempting her first summoning.

She thought it would be difficult.

But actually completed the whole process as unobtrusively as the instinct to eat and drink, and with a loud howl, a hound-sized Starworld wolf appeared at her feet.

The insubstantial creature circled Adele twice and licked her fingers in a pleasing manner.

“You’re just in time.”

Mrs. Adele took Missy’s notebook out of a nearby coffin and handed it to her Starworld wolf for a sniff, then swung forward and ordered:
“Lead me to her.”

“Ahem.”

Tris, who was lying in the middle of the manor’s ruins, coughed hard a few times, sticky blood spewing out of her mouth representing how bad she was at this point.

Beside Tris fell a huge and decomposing body, a strange creature formed by a patchwork of frightening tentacles, black and gray chitinous armor, and crab-like oafish feet.

It was vicious and strange enough when alive, and when dead, it would release a constant stream of foul energy that would shock the minds of those around it.

Fighting off this guy had used up the last bit of Tris’s psychic energy, making it difficult for her to even move.

Tris felt like she was about to die.

Of course, for a vampire this could be a hallucination due to “anemia”.

Her body was numb from the tingling, and to add insult to injury, snow was falling from the already dark sandstorm-like sky.

It was black “snow”.

Pieces of it fell to the ground, and then disappeared as spiritual energy embers.

Tris, who was once a spiritual master, knew that this was a strange environmental phenomenon caused by the assimilation of the spiritual energy of the astral world with the material world, which meant that this land was being integrated into the mysterious and dangerous astral world.

She had to leave in a hurry or she would no longer have the tragic fate of being assimilated.

However, Tris would have no strength at all.

She was lying on her back amidst the black ruins of falling snow, and underneath her cloak of hair, her demonic red eyes were staring wide at the sky above her, which was spinning as magnificently as a vortex of energy.

This was a rare sight in the material world.

Probably because she was mentally shocked by the creatures of the Star World just now, so much so that Tris actually had some marvelous associations at this moment.

She remembered in a trance
When she picked up little Murphy more than a year ago, it was also a cold snowy day to come.

On that day, she had just helped a rich man who traveled between the local area and Port Chardonnay to do business to complete his first embrace, so that the guy who came all the way to Cadman City to visit her to obtain the coveted “eternal life”, and in return, the rich man will give a third of his property to Tris.

In return, the rich man gave a third of his fortune to Tris, who had planned to use the money to buy a wine cellar and fix up her manor.

Then she meets Murphy, who is starving to death, on a city street.

It was snowing that day, very cold, eighteen year old Murphy fell on the road wearing only a single coat, it was the eighth year of the Ten Years’ War, escapees like Murphy were everywhere, and the city of Cadman starved to death every day.

Tris had forgotten why she had brought Murphy back.

Maybe it was just a whim from being drunk that night, or maybe it was because of a sudden burst of kindness.

Maybe it was the fact that she couldn’t bear to see such a lovely being taken away by death; in any case, it seemed that in a blink of an eye she had gained herself another heir.

As before, the money earned was quickly spent.

But this time, this picked up fellow didn’t seem quite the same as all the previous heirs, he actually didn’t leave himself, it was almost like a gentle dream that would never wake up.

“Tris. Tris are you alright? Don’t scare me open your eyes! It’s me! Tris.”

The familiar call seemed to come from the sky, causing the bewildered Tris’ consciousness to return a little bit more to the material world.

She saw Murphy’s handsome and cute face again in a trance.

But she knew that this was just the residue of the mental pollution that the Star World monster had inflicted on her taking effect, and that the vision she had seen at the end of her life was actually this little guy!
But little Murphy was clearly gone!
That child had listened to her and left Cadman City forever for a safer place, he had avoided himself and his doom, so how could he still appear beside himself?

The black snow in the sky grew heavier and heavier.

It was a sign of greater danger to come, but she was no longer going to fight against this damned fate.

It had never gone her way in her life!

Having been unlucky from childhood to old age, she had really had enough of the four hundred years of taunting from fate.

“Tris!”

Another call rang out, much to the annoyance of Tris who wanted to close her eyes in this snow.

With difficulty, she reached out to dispel the vision before her, but in the next instant, the raised hand was grabbed, and then her entire body was cradled in an embrace that was much warmer for a vampire.

Half-kneeling in the black snow, he held her so tightly, as if she were holding the most precious treasure in her life.

“Great Tris, you’re alive I’m back Tris, Murphy’s back. I’m sorry I’m late, it’s really good that you’re okay.”

The unfamiliar feeling of being hugged that was so real that it was uncomfortable brought Tris back in a flash.

She shook her head vigorously, feeling the body she was being picked up from the ground, and she finally understood everything, but then a wave of anger rose up from her heart.

“I thought I told you to leave! Why do you still have to come back! You dead child! Disobedient .”

She chortled, reaching out to smack Murphy in the face, but ultimately was too weak to accomplish the maneuver, and could only allow Murphy to cloak her in the midnight cloak subsequently carrying her behind her back.

“Don’t be afraid, I’ll get you out of here, hold on!”

Murphy softly asked Tris behind her back and said.

He stepped forward against the growing black falling snow towards the collapsed city wall, while behind him, the weak Tris buried her head in Murphy’s shoulder.

Unluckily during the battle just now, her eyes seemed to have gotten sand in them, and now they were uncomfortably trying to secrete some kind of soft substance.

And thankfully, vampires don’t shed tears, so naturally no one could see this terrible expression on her face at this moment.

Otherwise, she would definitely be laughed at by others, right?

In the end, the world she was familiar with that belonged to vampires was far from being as gentle as the midnight blessing and the embrace at this moment.

“Little Murphy.”

“Huh?”

“I need a drink.”

“You’re drinking at a time like this! Bear with me! I’ll find you something better.”

“No way . The wound will hurt if you don’t drink .”

“Is that why you got addicted to alcohol? Why didn’t you say so before? Well, I’ll find it for you on the way, bear with me.”

“Oh.”

Under the dim and gloomy and crazy and dangerous sky, the swirl of the Star Realm’s spiritual energy was like a round of black sun, radiating a dark and evil light in the ocean of black snow, stretching Murphy’s figure as he advanced through the snow, and also causing Tris behind him to almost merge with his shadow.

It was as if they could no longer separate from each other.

Well, the last heir of this long life of Lady Tris really doesn’t seem to be quite the same as the other heartless ones.

Perhaps it was because all the luck she had saved up after a lifetime of bad luck had been used on that freezing cold night a year ago?
