Chapter 131: 130 Loyalty of Maxim’s Super Evolution! Murphy’s Descent
Chapter 131 130.Loyalty of Maxim Hyper Evolution! Murphy’s Descendant Form!
“This is a shotgun left behind by my father back then, he was once the best hunter in several nearby villages, defeating three jackal bandits by himself. Alas, you guys have helped me so much these past few days that I have nothing to give you.
I hope this shotgun can protect true warriors like you.”
In the corner of the city square, Meowshark, one of the student party, accepted the weapon handed over by the kindly Sister Jules Sister in front of her with both hands.
The lady was the medical officer at the camp, and Meowshark had helped her earlier with a range of tasks from finding old photographs to finding lost house cats and such.
It had been expected that this would be the end of it.
But tonight at the celebration, the old lady recognized him and gave him her “family heirloom”.
This was a great surprise to Meow Shark.
Although the reward equipment of this “series of quests” was not better than the elite musket he was currently using, it was still quite a good feeling to meet a “familiar face” in the crowd like this.
Especially the kind but grateful eyes of the old woman in front of him, and the kitten in her arms that he had saved from the nooks and crannies of the ruins, all of which made Meow Meow Shark unable to stop himself from straightening his back at this moment.
What did it mean to be immersed in roleplaying, huh?
“Hey, Sharkie! Time to go, that side is calling us to the cloister to watch the ceremony.”
A fellow dormitory coochie shouted from the side, and Meowshark slung the nicely styled old musket over his shoulder and waved goodbye to the nun’s grandmother, returning to his dormitory protege in the other’s blessed gaze.
“What’s wrong with you? Why does it feel like you’ve been kicked in the balls?”
Cuckoo Chicken, who was grasping a grilled fish in his hand and chomping on it, glanced at his own son with odd eyes, and Meow Shark shrugged and told him what had just happened.
“Hey, what did I expect, it’s not just you doing a quest and then an NPC giving you a reward.”
Cuckoo Chicken skimmed his lips and said:
“I thought you met a teenage girl showing you love.”
“You don’t understand.”
Meowshark grunted and said:
“This game ain’t like other games . They’re all alive, like they have a life of their own and we’re the accidental intruders.”
“I think you’re bewitched, read less youthful sentimental literature you!”
Cuckoo Chicken teased fiercely, only to encounter a group of small children running around like mud monkeys within a few steps.
Among them, there was a little boy with a tiger’s head who brightened up when he saw Gu Gu Chicken, and ran towards him shouting “Brother Chicken” in a weird tone.
Obviously, he had been in contact with it before.
“What are you calling Brother Chicken? It’s impolite! Call Brother Goo Goo.”
Brother Chicken, who had been flirting with Meowshark just a moment ago, grinned and shoved the oddly-tasting half-roasted fish in his hand into the little boy’s hand, and grabbed a handful of maltesers from his psychic energy bag, teasing the little imps next to him to call him brother one by one in half-baked Mandarin.
The scene made Meowshark look at him with odd eyes.
A few minutes later Goo Goo Chicken shooed away the group of candy-chewing brats, and when he turned around again he saw his own son from the dormitory looking at him with the same gaze as if he were an idiot.
“What for?”
Goo Goo Chicken asked as he wiped his mouth in a tone of displeasure.
“If oh, I mean if.”
Meowshark said in a long drawn out voice:
“If a monster jumped out right now and tried to eat the kid who called you ‘Chicken'”
“Let’s see if I don’t beat the shit out of it! Little bastard Pam was rescued from the cellar by my own hand, who would dare hurt him?”
Cuckoo Chicken instantly clenched his fists fiercely, letting out a clacking sound of interlocking bones, and then coldly carried his cool Clan Defender Greatsword on his back as Meow Shark’s eyes watched subtly and headed towards the inner city.
“Ha, you dumb ass!”
Meowshark shouted.
Without turning his head, Cuckoo Chicken raised his middle finger at his own son and disliked him back:
“Old man rebound! Hey, now you’re the stupid one, didn’t expect that, did you? Hahaha.”
Just as these two conjugated fathers and sons who called each other dumbasses left the square shoulder to shoulder, Maxim raised his head to look at the crescent moon that had gone up to the stars above his head.
Because the existence of the “Star Realm Creation” in the sky made this scene look quite marvelous and magnificent, the purple light of the Star Realm Rift seemed to have tainted the moon of Cadman City, making it even more bewitching.
“Go play.”
Maxim bent down and placed the two little girls sitting on his shoulders on the ground, and waved to the other children gathered around him:
“Remember to come home early and don’t let your parents worry.”
All of these children had been rescued from the ruins by Maxim and the Kadmanian Self-Rescue Army under his command, and a few had been brought back from the Blood Vulture Cloisters.
These children were not as resistant to Maxim’s strange appearance as those in the city’s past, and they all knew that the always unsmiling uncle would always deliver what he found in the city to the survivor camps.
He was a good man.
“Uncle Mark! Old Stan says you’re a monster.”
A little boy with a snotty nose grabbing berries tilted his head up to Maxim, whose hair was all white and whose skin was so overly pale that it didn’t really resemble that of a normal person:
“Are you really a monster? But then again Dad says you protected us, and he never lets me call you a monster.”
“Well, how can I answer you guys with that question?”
Maxim rubbed his chin, and after a few seconds of thought, he lowered his head and patted the little boy on the head, speaking in a gentle tone:
“Old Stan is right, I am indeed a ‘monster’, I am Lord Murphy’s monster, but I am also your protector, just as Lord Kudel was.”
“Ah, but Lord Kudel is a vampire!”
A little girl with a double ponytail tilted her head and said:
“A very powerful vampire! Are you going to become a vampire too, Uncle Mark?”
“Well, just for tonight.”
Maxim smiled as he told the children:
“Not all vampires are bad, at least Lord Murphy and Lady Trish aren’t.”
“Neither are you!”
The little boy exclaimed:
“Daddy says there are good and bad people in any race, and Uncle Mark will definitely protect us even if he turns into a vampire! Fight those monsters that come out of the fog and scare people!”
“Hahahahaha, yes, fight them.”
Maxim laughed out loud.
He stretched and said goodbye to the children and walked towards a few of his guards again, illuminated by the purple-stained crescent moon overhead.
They held Maxim’s armor and weapons in their hands.
They all knew their chief captain was going to accept his destiny tonight as Lord Murphy’s blood.
“You stay here and watch over this place and get everyone back to camp after the festivities are over.”
Maxim took the armor handed to him by his subordinates and put it on piece by piece, his otherworldly face soon hidden under that vulture faceplate and barrel helmet.
“As you command, my lord!”
Several of the guards saluted and took orders, and as their heavily armed chief captain turned to leave, one of the veterans hesitated as he spoke:
“Captain Mark, perhaps I meant that it might be good for you to be a human, even though we used to be ruled by vampires for hundreds of years, you know, not everyone liked them, but now everyone thinks you’re a warrior.
Maybe.”
“But that’s what I wished for, ever since I was a child.” Maxim let out a low chuckle under his face armor as he said:
“I know what you are worried about, fear not, brothers, Lord Murphy’s ideals are different from any other vampire, and I will be destined to be unique and different because of it.
If I do become the kind of vampire you all have in mind, may I die by your hands.
It would be a nice ending for me.
Go on duty.
We’ll see you later.”
With that, Maxim quickly disappeared into the shadows at the edge of the square.
He traversed the wall at the edge of the city’s great chasm alone, and as he entered the Bloodwyvern Cloisters he came face to face with Lady Bonnie, the Bloodwyvern Archduchess’ own guard, waiting for him at the door.
The female guard was dressed in full vampire matriarchal guard battle armor, such that it was a ceremonial outfit but also possessed practicality, and appeared hideous and formidable.
This insane matriarch’s own guard looked Maxim up and down with the ceremonial black blade of the catacombs in hand, then said in a raspy voice:
“Come with me, the Archduke and the Count are waiting for you.”
“Uh-huh.”
Maxim followed.
At this point in time, the Blood Wyvern Cloister had not yet been completely cleared from the collapse, but the Hall of Sons had not been damaged in the previous collapse, so this barely opulent place became the site of this night’s First Embrace Ceremony.
Sixty small players gathered around the railing of the second floor as if watching a play, while the surviving Bloodwyvern Clan vampires had taken up positions in the hall on the first floor.
Lady Trixie, in her solemn appearance in full cumbersome but dignified Archduke regalia, sat on a throne of bloodstone at the back of the hall, with a few of her “lost” guards taking on the role of “statues”.
Each of them dressed in handsome armor guarded beside the Bloodstone Throne.
Lord Murphy, the Earl of Cadman, stood in the center of the hall, dressed in a patriarchal swordsman’s light armor obtained from the family’s secret treasure trove with a handsome and dashing Midnight Cloak, his hands holding the demonic shape of the Demon Blade of Desire, the Necessary Evil, and looking at Maxim, who was walking towards him, with a calm and gentle gaze.
Mrs. Adele, as Murphy’s first bloodline serving as an assistant at this time, had also specially changed into a blood priest’s low-cut dress ceremonial costume.
The large white greasy mass towering in front of her chest looked at a group of players who exclaimed that this E-sister was just outrageous.
It is really a magical world, how can gravity be so weak in this scale in the real situation?
However, the discussion to discuss, small players know that this ceremony is a real-time algorithm of the over-the-counter animation.
And they have been reminded in advance, the first embrace ceremony in the blood culture is quite sacred process, now allow them to watch is already broken the rules, the whole process can not make any noise, or wait for the blood vulture under the command of the Midnight guards to be punished ruthlessly.
But in this vampire ritual scene, there is a human here is a bit of a violation.
Miss Miriam, who had changed into a long formal dress, was also dressed up tonight, and she was standing right next to Lady Tris’s bloodstone throne, and even had her own seat.
It was a perfect reflection of her unique position in this current ruling system.
Miriam’s heart was pounding even this time.
On the one hand, it was because attending such a formal and high-profile occasion for the first time made this girl from a commoner’s background a bit excited.
On the other hand, she was afraid that it would be her turn after Maxim finished the process.
Although Murphy had always emphasized that he would not go against her wishes, this was Transylvania! In Transylvania, vampires could do whatever they wanted, who could stop them?
As the blood-colored hourglass held in Mrs. Adele’s hand next to her leaked the last grains of gravel, Murphy said in a deep voice:
“Maxim Sena Vlad, come forward!”
“As you command, my lord.”
The muffled response came from beneath Maxim’s fully-covered vulture faceplate.
He handed his Psychic Poison Blade and Ceremonial Black Sword to Bonnie next to him, took a deep breath, and strutted up the red carpet to Murphy’s eyes.
Then, as the small group of players watched, the loyal servant knelt down on one knee in a standard knightly salute, and reached up again to remove his faceplate, revealing his otherworldly face.
“I ask you, Maxim, will you give up your birthright this night and sip the blood of the sinful descendants to awaken in scarlet?”
Murphy asked softly.
The voice was soft, but still clearly audible to every player under the enchantment of the Spirit Energy spell, while Maxim’s response was as loud as thunder.
“Of course, my lord, it’s my honor!”
“Very well.”
Count Cadman nodded, and the Desire Magic Blade in his hand lifted to point at Maxim’s left shoulder.
He asked again:
“I ask you, Maxim, are you willing to bid farewell to the world surrounded by the blazing sun at this time and walk into eternity under the shelter of the night?”
“I do, my lord, and I would offer my future as a sacrifice for Mother Midnight.”
“Very well.”
Murphy’s longsword lifted and nudged Maxim’s right shoulder again.
The ceremony should have ended there, however Murphy asked a third time:
“I ask you, Maxim, are you willing to follow Murphy’s cause and with your own hands, open up a new future for dark and closed Transylvania?”
This question was not in the rehearsal for the ceremony.
Instead, Maxim tilted his head as he looked Murphy in the eye and said earnestly:
“I will give you my heart, my sovereign.”
“Very well.”
Murphy withdrew his longsword as he announced loudly:
“Then by the authority granted to me by His Excellency Grand Duke Tris of the Blood Vulture, I hereby declare that from this day forward! Maxim Sena Vlad will become the Knight Commander of the Long Night under Count Cadman! I shall bestow upon him the title and power of ‘Baron Lime’, and I shall share my power and blessings with him.
My warriors will witness this, and my warriors will remember this!
Thus begins a new future for Transylvania!”
His sharp blade flicked at Maxim’s neck, and a cloud of blood gushed out to be extracted again by Murphy with his vampiric powers.
Although he could just go straight to the teeth as he had first embraced Mrs. Adele before, it was still beyond Murphy and Maxim’s bottom line of acceptance for two men to be so intimate. Both men’s aesthetics were normal, even a little too normal, and not as outrageous as the forum uploaded
Anyway, the essence of the first embrace only lies in the fusion of blood, what kind of means used is just a symbol.
“Mmm!”
Amidst the small players’ exclamations of surprise, they saw the blood in Maxim’s body being drawn into Murphy’s hand in a rushing gesture.
And between that blood ball surrounded, the loyal servant’s body rapidly dried up to become like a dry corpse.
It wasn’t hard to imagine how painful this process would be, but Maxim maintained his half-kneeling posture of allegiance without saying a word.
Murphy squeezed out his own blood in his other hand, mixing it in the same 1:3 ratio as before until Maxim’s blood was tainted with the bloodline of the eternally sinful descendant, and then he drank it all in one gulp.
His fingers touched down on the neck wound of Maxim, who had lost his breath, and brand new, power-filled blood then rushed back into the loyal servant.
Another prompt popped up:
[Please choose an inheritance template for the heir ‘Maxim Sena Vlad’, currently has character templates: common/rare/elite.
The new ‘Elite Template’ inheritance rules are as follows:]
Murphy didn’t even look at the line of prompts.
Previously, giving Adele the rare template to inherit made him weak for three days, and at this time, the price to be paid to change the elite template was definitely greater. But the vampire still chose elite inheritance without any hesitation, because this man kneeling in front of him deserved such praise!
