Chapter 122 121 The Archduchess of the Blood Vulture is a coward!

Chapter 122 121.The Blood Vulture Female Archduke is a coward!
How much source blood Murphy still had in his hand was a question that only he knew the answer to.

He actually didn’t know what purpose it served other than breaking bloodline contracts as well as strengthening vampire power? But that was undoubtedly good stuff! Since it was good stuff, so he had to hoard more of it himself.

At this moment, facing Tris’ question, Murphy in the darkness blinked and replied:

“You guess?”

“You pesky little guy, your great justice is asking you serious questions.”

Tris was momentarily stunned.

But the relationship that had just changed between the two seemed to have returned to the intimate and relaxed state it had been in before because of Murphy’s joke, and Tris let out a long breath in her heart, not even knowing what she was nervous about.

The Archduchess grunted and crooked her finger at Murphy.

The two were back in the secret treasury that could be insulated from probing and eavesdropping, and it was only after Murphy had closed the door that Tris sat down in a chair and explained to him:

“I’m not coveting the source blood you’re holding, Murphy, the power-giving and contract-breaking effects of that stuff only kick in once in every vampire’s long life, and after you and I have drunk it, all it means to us is instantaneous healing in a pinch.

I’m asking if you have any source blood in your possession because it relates to the research I’m currently conducting.
Research that relates to those otherworldly warriors of yours.”

“Hmm?”

Murphy looked at Tris in surprise.

The Archduchess reached out and took off her crown and played with it in her hand, stretching her body back to her lazy “wasted form”, she stretched her voice and explained:

“In fact, my research on them began when I met them, after you taught me how to establish a good relationship with them, I took the opportunity of having them constantly running errands to collect some of their ‘psychic energy specimens’.

Little Murphy, the technique you used to summon them into our world isn’t really fundamentally different from the technique you’re currently using to summon that Star Realm Wolf.

They enter our world as a Star Realm Projection and absorb the Spiritual Energy Factor that wanders between heaven and earth to exist for a long time, and need to be regenerated after their own Spiritual Energy Projection is destroyed, and this process is exactly three days.

You seem to be very good at summoning, so perhaps your power tapping on the psychic level could go that way as well.

But more on that afterward.

What I want to tell you is that since your otherworldly warriors are special ‘summons’, they can also be so enhanced by some of the special techniques so used by summoners.

Although their form of existence is more complicated, I can tell you with certainty through my research over this period of time that all it takes is some subtle medium to make their form of existence in our world change accordingly.”

She looked at Murphy and announced her conclusion.

She said:

“You told me that the focus of driving your warriors to do things and realize their potential is on rewards, so let me ask you, have you ever thought of bestowing the power of the Mother of Midnight upon them as a reward?”

“This.”

Murphy clenched his fists as he said rather perkily:
“Of course I’ve thought about it! But there’s no way for them to become vampires through First Embrace; they don’t have physical blood to First Embrace.”

“That’s exactly what I’m telling you.”

Tris said to Murphy as she stood up, moving her body’s limbs, which seemed somewhat energized by the return of her powers, and bouncing in place with no matriarchal authority:
“We can make them ‘vampires’ by weaving in a psychic medium without having to go through the traditional initial embrace! Of course, to do this I would need a very special blood sample, it would have to be the kind that can resonate violently with the psychic energy and can be incorporated into it for a long-lasting effect.

I had thought of using Salokdar’s Archduke’s blood to do this, but after realizing that you still have a large amount of source blood in your possession, I had a better test medium.”

She walked over to Murphy reaching out her hand towards him and said:

“Give me some, I don’t need much, just enough for a repetitive test, my theoretical erection is complete, and I may need one of your warriors to volunteer to be a test subject after I’m ready for the ritual.

I have to say this in advance though.

This experiment will be accompanied by a certain amount of danger.

If the process of weaving their solid projections is interfered to the point of failure and it cannot be recovered, it means that you may lose a warrior forever.”

“Risks I can understand, what I’m trying to figure out is, will our experiment in this world affect their entities in the other world?”

Murphy said in a serious tone:

“That must be safeguarded! I can accept the regret of losing a warrior to service, but I don’t want these warriors who have contributed to our cause to suffer real harm.”

“Of course it can be guaranteed! How could what happened in the material world affect their entities in the other world? Your knowledge of the basics of psychic energy is so shaky!”

Tris knocked Murphy’s head and rolled her eyes:
“And I’m the titular Spiritual Energy Master, I still have such a little bailout measure.”

“Then, I can totally cooperate with you.”

Murphy moodily opened his psychic energy bag and took out a jar of source blood from it and handed it to Tris.

However, the female Grand Duke’s eyes were looking straight at the gap in Murphy’s psychic energy bag that had not yet been closed, and the flickering light of the source blood inside dazzled Tris’s eyes.

After several seconds, the new Blood Vulture Archduchess furiously jumped in place and cursed:
“Good you Murphy! You’re emptying the sacred blood pool aren’t you? Your bag alone contains no less than thirty jars of source blood, and I have enough reason to believe that you must have more pure source blood hidden elsewhere!

It’s a family relic! You little bastard!

Hand it over!
With it, the Blood Vulture Clan will be able to grow its members again quickly without risk.”

“No, I refuse, this is something I fought tooth and nail to get, you can’t take it all so harshly.”

Murphy covered his psionic bag and kept backing away as he said:
“I’ve asked Palanor, he told me that the Blood Vulture Clan’s lost sacred blood pool can be reacquired from the mysterious origin Scarlet Sanctuary in the ‘Sacred Blood Seal’ that will start next year! Wouldn’t it be better for you to follow along and get some back then?

These in my hand are considered our private stash!

This is an origin holy relic, a true secret treasure! Who wouldn’t want it?”

“You you you you! Are you trying to piss me off?”

Seeing that Murphy was so resolute, the new female Grand Duke was furious and stomped her feet in place, no longer having the unrivaled elegance and majestic demeanor that she had just had, she said with slight anger:
“In the more than a thousand years that vampires have existed on the continent since the Sacred Blood Parade, there hasn’t been even a single asshole vampire as disrespectful to the Origin as you are, Murphy!

I know you hate the rules and regulations of the Blood Vulture Clan, but the most basic respect for ancient and sacred principles is something you must have, and the fact that you are hiding so much origin blood would be a recipe for a crash and burn before any other vampire matriarchs knew about it, if they knew about it, Venerable Paing or any other vampire matriarch!
We are blood vultures!
We have to play by the rules.”

“But you’re the Archduchess, and I’m the Archduchess’ heir!”

Murphy asked rhetorically:
“Aren’t our words the new rules? In the past, we were marginalized and had to be oppressed by the family rules, now that we’re all matriarchs and earls and still have to be bound by the rules, isn’t everything in between for nothing?”

“You’re still young, you don’t understand, these ancient rules not only bind us, but protect us.”

Tris sighed.

She no longer mentioned the request for the source blood, but just shook her head helplessly and turned around, intending to pack up her things and leave to get some rest in her own “Grand Duke’s Tent” this time, and consider the events of this night.

Murphy looked at the back of Tris packing up her things and leaving, and suddenly opened his mouth and said:

“That. Tris, regarding your earlier request for me to calm down and think about our relationship, I feel as if I have the answer.”

“Hm? So soon?”

Tris was in a hurry to leave this time, in addition to the fact that she really had to go back to do the experiment, there was actually a point of consideration to try to avoid being alone with Murphy during his ‘cooling down period’, so as not to affect his consideration of this matter again.

“I think you should spend more time . Well.”

She was answered by blazing lips.

By the time Tris felt bad, Murphy’s arms had wrapped around her slender waist pulling her whole body towards her, and then as Tris’s pupils dilated, the young vampire in front of her, who was only nineteen years old, was just A-okay.

Their lips touched.

At this point there was no need for any reply or words.

Murphy showed Tris with practical actions the impression of Tris that he had re-erected in his mind after stripping away the effects of the linking contract and the final decision he had made regarding the relationship.

It was too sudden.

So sudden that it made the Archduchess of the Blood Vulture a bit overwhelmed.

Of all the scenarios she had envisioned there didn’t seem to be an option in front of her that didn’t quite fit the vampire’s gloomy style. It made her instinctively want to push Murphy away.

But the initial struggle quickly softened at the other woman’s undisguised blazing intentions, and then her own movements became gentle, even pandering, in the symbolic pushing and shoving.

The feelings that had built up over the past year or so of being together exploded in her heart with a vengeance.

All that filled her mind at that moment were the moments when Murphy had taken care of her, and the almost petulant banter that the two of them had shared during their occasional intimacy.

The complex relationship between the two beings embraced in the splendor of the land, lips meeting lips and answering the passage of time with arms and kisses, until Tris’s tongue clumsily fit between her lips as Murphy guided her, and she awoke with a start.

Blanch!
What was she doing to herself?

Her struggles turned violent anew, and Murphy released her rather gently when he sensed the change.

It’s not like he’s one of those little virgins who monkeys around, his past life and present life together amounted to more than forty years of life is enough for him to become gentle and considerate at times like this.

“That’s my answer.”

Murphy wiped the blood from his lips.

Tris’s kissing experience couldn’t be described as clumsy, it could be described as completely overwhelming, and to put it in a less appropriate way, he had just felt as if he’d been gnawed on by a small, fragrant pig as Tris moved in.

There was no skill at all.

It was all emotion.
As Tris watched with complicated eyes, Murphy ruffled his long, somewhat disheveled hair and told her:
“I thought that after isolating myself from the effects of the linking contract, I wouldn’t be able to lose myself in your flair as much as the Bloodborn’s chasing attachment to their honored elders, but it turns out that I seem to have taken it a little bit lightly; after all, there’s not much sense in the whole heartwarming thing.”

Murphy remembered again at that moment the words that the other told him when he said goodbye to Revernor earlier, the words that were pressed into the deepest recesses of this body’s heart, and so Murphy naturally blurted it out:
“Tris, I admit that this is a bit nasty, but during the year or so that I took care of you, my purpose was actually not purely the linking contract nor did it affect my feelings for you, but rather, I used that mysterious power to rationalize this kind of teenager’s attachment and pursuit.

So after its effects were removed, I was also finally able to calmly examine my feelings for you.

And then I realized that I hadn’t actually changed all along, especially since all these things that had happened in the last month or so had deepened this emotion even more, but of course, it’s true that we hadn’t yet come to the point where we could resort to it as ‘liking’ or ‘love’.

But I can’t deny that I do have a deep, special fondness for you that sets you apart from other ladies.

And judging from your reaction just now
I am honored to determine that you seem to feel the same way about me.”

“Not so!”

Tris said in a pale tone as she covered her slightly burning cheeks:
“You’re just too young to understand the way the Eldritch species treats their feelings, you can’t turn a burst of emotion into such a radical relationship in such a short period of time as a human can”

“But underneath this vampire exterior, I just have a human soul!”

Murphy spat helplessly in his heart.

He also wanted to explain.

But Tris took a deep breath to calm herself down, and she reached up and touched her hand to the scar on her neck, and said to Murphy with a touch of low sadness:

“And, most of all you don’t know me, little Murphy, all you know is the scrappy Tris who had to give up all ambition and viciousness in favor of peace because she lost her power.

You don’t understand what kind of monster the Scarlet Witch was who lived and breathed madness and viciousness for the first half of my life.

This scar is the painful lesson she left me.

You don’t know that.”

Tris looked to Murphy, she hesitated and bit her lip:
“As I told you before, it was I who came up with the crazy plan that Salokdar devised for Phineas, or maybe it just stemmed from my insane speculations at that point, but Salokdar made it a reality in a way that was more radical than I was, and learned some more mysterious knowledge of subspace thus.

And that was just one of the many wrong things I did in my crazy days.

Murph, that’s what I’m trying to say.

After you really get to know me, you’ll fear me, stay away from me, even be hostile to me.

The Scarlet Witch doesn’t fit in with you.
I used to be able to convince myself that in my weakness, that crazy and vicious female bastard had been completely buried by me, but now that the power has returned, perhaps that specter will reappear as well.”

She grabbed the braid on her chest, the worry in her words undisguised.

But Murphy shook his head and stepped forward, gently and deftly detangling her braid back into place as Tris stiffened her body in response, transforming her back to her previous appearance as the scrappy bitch with the long, shaggy hair that covered the corners of her demonic eyes.

“It looks much smoother this way.”

Murphy took a gentlemanly step back as he looked her up and down, satisfied, and told Tris:

“Your past is a hassle you need to deal with on your own, I’m not involved and don’t really care, as long as you don’t want to destroy the world I think I’m okay with that, even if you do want to destroy the world I can laugh and hand you the torch that will light the world on fire if necessary.

The difference between good, evil, light and darkness is of little significance to me, I aspire to a freedom that you may not understand, and I am certain that the perception of the world is not the same in your eyes as it is in mine.

You have your madness and I have mine.

After all, what vampire doesn’t have a little harmless secret in his heart?
Besides, we vampires live long lives so don’t jump to conclusions, we’re not here to settle down, we’ve just got a crush on each other and there’s a lot more to come.

Ms. Tris, please believe me, I’m not that casual when it comes to relationships.

I don’t think you are either.”

“What the hell kind of title is that?”

Tris chortled in displeasure:

“I’m 432 years older than you! Show me some respect, will you?”

“Okay, okay, Mrs. Tris.”

Murphy shrugged, spilling his guts made him feel good, so he took Tris’ hand as naturally as he wanted to before and said:

“Want to go back together? It’s not my style to let a lady walk alone at night, and considering I’m trying to win you over, perhaps I should behave more like a gentleman?”

“Poverty.”

Tris rolled her eyes and calmed her mind.

She rolled her eyes and said:
“On my back!”

“Huh?”

Murphy looked at her in surprise, the blank look expressing everything.

Before, I carried you out of the city because you were about to hang up then, but now you’re already a gold-ranked Spiritual Energy Master, and your wings are three times bigger than mine! So you’ve gotten so lazy that you don’t even want to walk?
“Count Cadman! Carry your Grand Duchess back to your tent, I’m too tired and frightened by your crazy speeches tonight to walk or fly right now.

This is the Grand Duke’s order!
This Lord Count Cadman, you don’t want to be severely chastised by your superiors for refusing the Archduke’s orders, do you?”

Tris spoke as she played with her serenade cane.

A few minutes later, Murphy carried Tris on his back and left the Blood Vulture Cloister from the secret passage, this intimate gesture between the new Archduchess and Earl Cadman could not be easy to see from the outside.

Murphy’s footsteps were light and fast as he crossed the water source and waterfall of that underground cave, and in the not-so-quiet darkness of the night, Mrs. Tris comfortably rubbed against Murphy’s back, and then pressed herself against it and closed her eyes.

Always feel that this strange feelings if further will become quite troublesome, besides, Murphy this young man know what is called love?

Can he know more than himself, an ancient vampire who is almost 500 years old?
So, it’s better to maintain this comfortable distance for the time being, and talk about those troubles later.

She thought so, seemingly convincing herself.

As Murphy jumped off the waterfall on her back and glided in the darkness, Tris quietly touched her lips, which seemed to still have some of the warmth from the intense kiss just now, as well as the same disturbing warmth that Murphy’s very gentlemanly hands had just left on her waistline.

That was a temperature that made a vampire’s heart panic even more than the blazing sun.

“Tris!”

She said to herself mentally:

“You’re such a coward .”
