Chapter 764: A New Year’s Letter to Book Lovers

New Year’s Letter to Book Lovers
Unconsciously, another year of the New Year is approaching, the editor said that I have buried my head in words for another year, and at the end of the year, it is best to write something to communicate with the readers – I thought about it, and I think he is right.

In fact, I am very bad at writing this kind of “exchange single chapter”, familiar with me everyone should know, let me bury my head in words can, but really let me write a so serious “exchange letter” that can be too difficult, after all, I finished the book are only one sentence of the speech pull down! — Now this more than a hundred words, I’ve been holding back half an hour, so if there is anything behind the foreword and afterword place, please be more patient.

From 2010 when I first started the book to now, I have written four full-length books in more than ten years, and now I have more or less achieved something. I am very lucky to have finally realized my childhood dream: to be a writer, to write some stories I like, and at the same time to have a lot of people who like the stories I have written, and the realization of this dream is because of so many readers who are willing to follow me along the way, and who are willing to read my stories, and who like my brainchildren. Readers who like this bit of my brainchild – life is long, and it’s hard to find a few like-minded people on such a long road, even if it’s a temporary like-mindedness and in a specific field, and luckily, I’ve succeeded big time in this.

I’m really happy that so many people want to read my story, and I’m also honored that my story has brought joy to so many people – joy is really one of the most valuable things in life, and it’s great that I’ve been able to make this work.

The Remnants of the Deep, which is by far the best of my four full-length books, and to be honest, it’s even a bit more than I thought it would be – I tried some new things in this book, and wrote a lot of things I’d always conceptualized in my head but hadn’t had a chance to add until this book (like in the Hunt route) Harmonium elements in the Hunt route, like creating an all-boss protagonist camp from the enemy’s point of view), and I’m glad to see that so many people are enjoying them – it seems like going in the direction of “boss protagonist forming a Harmonium gang in a weird world” was indeed the right decision. It seems like it was the right decision to go in this “boss protagonist forming a Harmonium gang in a weird world” direction.

As some of you who have been catching up on the story will have noticed, the main story of Ashes of the Deep has recently reached an advanced stage – it’s still a long way from being finished, but it’s time to wrap things up.

Older readers who are used to my first three books may feel a bit surprised, after all, according to my previous length, a book is often that is to write three or four years, five or six million words up, “Ashes of the Deep” is now more than two million words, in front of the Shirin, Abnormality and Dawn all seem too short.

The reason why I chose to start wrapping up at this moment is, on the one hand, because it’s really tiring to write a big long story, and it’s true that I don’t have the same energy now as I did more than ten years ago, so I can’t possibly go on chewing on a big long story forever-sooner or later, it will affect the quality of the article, and on the other hand, because this is the length that has been planned from the very beginning of the opening of “Ashes of the Deep –After writing three big long books in a row, I wanted to try out a new plot structure and length control to see if I could still write a good story in a shorter length.

If I can, then I’ll have a chance to construct more worlds before I retire – after all, life is too short for more brainstorms, and really, if I go at the old pace of one book in four years, how many of those brainstorms will be buried in regret ……

Frankly speaking, to make this decision is still quite stressful, after all, “Ashes of the Deep” is really my best book so far, just the current length of more than two million words, it is now the subscription has exceeded the “Sword of the Dawn” opened the book so far the total subscription – under normal circumstances, many authors should try to put such a book Normally, many authors would try to write such a book for as long as possible, and continue it for as long as they can until they can’t continue it anymore after a few years – but I don’t think that’s right.

It’s disrespectful to Duncan and his crew and everyone else on the Infinite Sea.

They deserve a good story with a beginning and an end, not one that gradually looks repugnant in an infinite refill of plain water.

Of course, even though it’s time to start wrapping things up, there’s no need to worry that Ashes of the Deep will suddenly end up in the near future – I know how fast I can wrap things up, and with all the holes I’ve dug up ahead, I figure I’ll be primping for a few months at least – that said, thinking about it this way, mentioning the end of the book right now seems a bit I’m not sure if I’ll be able to do that.

So look forward to it – Captain Duncan and his crew have an exciting journey ahead of them, one that won’t be over soon, but it will be over at the perfect time.

And after that, the Lost Country will still be sailing off into the far, far distance.

Ah, speaking of which it suddenly occurs to me that there’s actually a small reason why I want to wrap up Ashes of the Deep – the stupid urge to start a new book. I’ve been saving up a lot of new ideas over the past two years, a lot of really interesting brainstorms, but one problem has plagued me: the structure of Ashes of the Deep was designed to be so complete that a lot of the new ideas and brainstorms that came up in the course of the writing process couldn’t be crammed in.

After thinking about it, I think there’s still only one solution.

I have to dig a new hole.jpg.

Of course, this pit definitely won’t be ready to meet you all for a while yet, and I’ll have to give it a bit of a pick-me-up – so everyone should just soak in the infinite sea for now ……

……

I don’t realize that I’ve talked about so many things, and when I look up, it’s already late at night.

One step closer to the big year.

I hope you don’t mind some of the preceding preamble – I’m really bad at writing this.

I just feel like it’s so nice to have you readers, it’s so nice to be able to fulfill a dream I had in the beginning, and it’s so nice to be able to write about something I love and bring joy to people.

It’s amazing to be successful at something in your life, and I’ve been lucky enough to make it through, and I’m going to continue to do so – if the world I’ve built in my books brings even a little bit of happiness and enjoyment to those of you in front of the screen, that’s going to be a great motivation and encouragement for me to keep writing! I will continue to write.

Last but not least, the New Year is approaching.

I wish you in front of the screen all the best, good health and happiness.
