Chapter 724 – Under the Obscure Starry Sky

Chapter 724 – Under the Obscure Starry Sky
The green flame was like a shooting star, falling straight down from the solidified starry sky dome, crossing a bright trajectory before landing on the barren plains strewn with strange rocks.

Then the flame exploded and bloomed in mid-air, and in the flurry of fire, the figures of Duncan and Alice came out from it, and finally stepped on this unknown world.

Before the flames dissipated, Duncan noticed the strange, twisted and horrifying figures in the distance – a dozen or so spectral demons clustered at the edge of the landing site, somehow looking a little stupefied.

He and the demons stared at each other in disbelief, and the atmosphere of the scene inexplicably froze a little.

It wasn’t until Alice, who had realized it afterward, finally made a staggering noise that broke the frozen atmosphere: “Captain! We’re surrounded!”

“…… I see it.” Duncan said casually, but at the same time, he was already prepared to “deal” with those demons – the dozen or so monsters in the distance were obviously different from the demons summoned by the Annihilationists that he had seen in the real dimension, their limbs were obviously more twisted, and some of their bodies could also be seen on their bodies. Their limbs were obviously more twisted, some of their bodies had bizarre dislocations and cracks, and the cranial demon floating in mid-air even had a horrifying hole in the top of its head, which made it look like it was not easy to deal with.

According to Duncan’s understanding, a twisted thing like a Profound Demon, of course, the more twisted and out of place it is, the stronger it is – this set of demons in front of him are twisted and almost broken, so they must be masters in the Profound Sea, and most likely different from those chickens in the real world who run away as soon as they meet him… …

However, what he didn’t expect was that just as he was about to say hello to the local natives, the group of monsters in the distance seemed to have suddenly reacted, and they instantly let out a series of chaotic and noisy roars and hissing noises, and then they scattered in all directions, and half of them disappeared in the blink of an eye.

The remaining half is not not running, but limping really can not run – that looks like a horrifying skull demon although can fly, but fly like a cylinder leakage of the old diesel engine like trembling, floating twice from the head of the big hole in the “puff” out of a black smoke and then fell to the ground! A stream of black smoke and then fell to the ground, struggling a few times and then floated up, puh puh two black smoke and then fell to the ground ……

Optimistically, I would say that it takes about half a minute to fly out at most six meters, and most of the time it’s just poofing in the same place.

Duncan & Alice: “……?”

The two of them reacted for a while, Duncan finally noticed those wretched traces on the ground at the edge of the landing site – a lot of almost unrecognizable wreckage is scattered in the pits and gullies, while the smoke and dust out of the surface of the ground into the ground, everywhere on the ground can be seen horrifyingly deep craters and as if by some kind of crushing force! “The ground was covered with horrifyingly deep pits and dents as if they had been cut off by some kind of crushing force, which was horrifying to look at.

At first, Duncan thought that these traces were just “natural features” in the deep sea, after all, he had heard from the beginning that this place was a “fragmented wasteland”, but now he finally realized… …this was a battlefield after a fierce battle.

Something had gotten here early and killed almost all of the demons in the center of the wasteland, and the dozen or so in the distance were just a bunch of lucky survivors – and with their twisted looks, they were a lot of fun.

Together, their twisted looks were really twisted.

And Alice reacted at this time, she looked around with wide eyes and noticed the dark skeletons scattered in a nearby pothole, and immediately grabbed Duncan’s arm, “Captain! This place is full of demonic wreckage!”

Duncan glanced at the cranial demon in the distance, which was wobbling and making a bid for flight, as well as a couple of tell-tale birds that were bouncing around on the ground on one leg, and pondered, “…… So it’s already been fought …… “

“Who did this?” Alice, on the other hand, looked rather disturbed, the sight of the neighborhood making her a bit nervous, “Are the usual infighting amongst the Phantom Demons this intense?”

Duncan didn’t say anything for a moment, only bending down to scrutinize a fragment of skeleton that had been almost burned to a crisp, before opening his palm above the fragment.

A bit of ghostly green sparks, barely perceptible to the naked eye, drifted out from the charred bone and fluttered down into his hand.

The faint spark still carried the “memories” left on the battlefield not long ago.

“It’s Shirley and Dog,” a moment later, Duncan raised his head and looked toward the end of the vast wilderness, “they have come here in succession …… Theoretically, the traces here are left by them. ”

Alice listened, her expression froze for a moment, a little unresponsive, “…… Shirley and Dog are that powerful?”

“It looks like something has happened to them, some kind of huge …… change,” Duncan frowned slightly, his expression grave, “Especially Shirley, she doesn’t feel right to me now. ”

As he spoke, he followed the direction of his perception and turned his eyes toward the direction of the “imprinted breath” coming from Shirley and Dog.

Boundless chaos filled this boundless dimension, the stagnant ancient starry sky covered the dome of the deep sea, the dark starlight shone on those fragmented floating islands in this chaotic space – within the range of his vision, he could see many large and small shadows floating in the dark starlight, those were floating land, including him and Dog. Floating land, including the “wilderness” where he and Alice are now standing, seems to be only a part of the many broken floating islands.

The entire “profound deep sea”, is composed of these countless broken floating islands, they are floating in a piece of stagnant ancient stars covered by the chaos of time and space, the entire space is filled with a …… bleak and dead atmosphere.

Duncan withdrew his gaze and looked at the mannequin beside him, ”Do you have any special sensation now? Can you see or hear any less unusual information?”

Alice carefully discerned it and shook her head, “Not for the time being.” “Hmm,” Duncan nodded gently, then raised his hand to point in the distance, “Shirley and Dog’s imprints are in this direction and continuing to move, let’s go after them.”

“Good!” Alice immediately nodded, and muttered chirpily while following Duncan’s footsteps, “Shirley must be terrified …… She’s actually very small in guts …… Dog isn’t very big in guts either… …”

The two figures emanating terror finally departed into the distance – they didn’t seem to be looking for trouble this way.

The cranial demon floating in mid-air trembled slightly, the red light in its eye sockets flickered, it looked at the direction of the two uninvited guests, and for the first time, the concept of “happiness” emerged in its chaotic and unintelligent mind.

A bird of prey with only one leg and half of a wing left jumped through the rubble not far away, while two almost flattened masses of Dreadnoughts slowly wriggled through the cracks in the ground, and a few more nearly torn apart Sphere Hounds were struggling to crawl to the far side.

It was truly a beautiful day.

An elongated knuckle covered in bone spikes stabbed down from the sky like a sword, pinning a grotesque demon to the ground as it growled and spat with its mouth open, and then the knuckle continued onward, striding to the end of the wilderness.

The twelve symmetrical limbs were pierced with countless large and small, grotesque and horrifying demonic creatures, some of these twisted and ugly things were still struggling and hissing, but more of them were no longer active, but emitted smoke and gradually transformed into mud.

The owner of the limb no longer cared about any of this – after traveling for an unknown amount of time, she had finally reached the end of the land.

Floating in the darkness of chaos, the earth was an island that ended in nothingness, and at the edge of the wilderness, the rock and mud came to an abrupt end, a thin layer of smoke escaping from the edge of the fractured earth, encircling the island like a low stream of clouds.

Shirley paused cautiously at the end of the earth, jamming her barbed knuckles into a gap in the rock, and peered cautiously down over the edge of the floating island, before darting her eyes away.

There was no way out.

What next?
she pondered, standing still at the end of the wilderness as if she were a statue, as if she were dead for a moment.

But the demons that hovered around her knew that this powerful and terrifying “outsider” was still alive – in her skeletal chest, two dark red hearts and a fire were still beating slowly, unquenchable and unextinguishable.

After an unknown period of time, Shirley finally snapped out of her thoughts and took two steps backward, trying to lower her altitude – she was tired and wanted to sit down and rest for a few minutes.

It was only after several attempts that she sat down, rusty and sluggish, and carefully gathered the bony structure behind her like a giant wing of skeleton behind her back.

With that, she sat down on a large rock and lifted her head, staring somewhat out of her mind at the stagnant, starry sky in the sky from the distant past.

That starry sky was icy cold, haunted by a deathly and desolate atmosphere, just like a huge, magnificent but lifeless corpse, looking down on everything with billions of eyes coldly.

It was so beautiful, but it was also really a bit frightening, she felt as if she was about to fall into the dense cluster of stars and transform into a part of them, and she also felt as if she was being crushed by them, and was being pressed down on this broken and desolate earth.

What words should be used to describe such a sight and such a feeling?
Shirley thought seriously and hard, she suddenly regretted a little that she usually did not listen to the captain’s words, did not read more books, then she would have a lot of vocabulary, not like now, after half a day’s thought or can only hold back a sentence—

“…… It’s so damn nice ……”

Then, there were footsteps that suddenly appeared nearby, interrupting Sherry’s feelings, and causing the surrounding demons that were hiding in the shadows, stupidly moving but stumbling and fearful to finally retreat.

Sherry slowly turned back to see a Phantom Hound, taller than all of them and covered in skeletal fragments floating in black smoke, approaching from the shadows.

It approached cautiously, an eerie green fire burning in its hollow eyes, and it seemed to hesitate, looking tense and stumbling, as it hovered a dozen meters away for a long time before slowly taking a few steps closer forward and placing a clump of something it was carrying in its mouth on the ground.

“…… Sherry, I found food ……”

Those words were so familiar.
