Chapter 686 – Dark Shuttle
Chapter 686 – Darkness Shuttle
The moment that boundless darkness and chaos came crashing down on his face, Ted Riel realized that something had gone wrong with the situation.
However, when he tried to terminate the teleportation immediately and return along the “door”, he found that his power was not responded to – and the illusory door that was beside him a second ago had somehow dissipated into the boundless darkness and chaos.
Calm down.
The Secret Keeper of Truth slowly took a breath, he regained his composure in the shortest possible time, and restrained the instinctive urge to immediately start observing and sensing his surroundings – in the darkness, he stood still, not trying to hear or see anything, and at the same time, little by little, he gathered his senses, controlled his thoughts, and utilized the “mind control” that he had mastered through his long training to control his mind. At the same time, he collected his senses a little, controlled his mind, and utilized the “mind control method” that he had mastered through long training to suppress as much as possible the curiosity, desire to explore, and ability to make associations that he, as a mortal, instinctively possessed.
This helps to resist any malicious forces that may exist in the surrounding environment, or to prevent oneself from coming into contact with knowledge that should not be touched without sufficient preparation.
Rahm taught the world that a thousand truths lie in the darkness – in the darkness, anything is possible, but less than one percent of it is harmless to mortals.
As the paralysis in his mind spread and slowly transformed into a barrier that sheltered his mind, the blessing of Rahm’s Foolishness descended upon him, and Tad Lir exhaled softly, reassuring himself a little before he began to control his mind to maintain a minimum of reason and judgment, while cautiously regaining and reestablishing his senses, and gazing out into what seemed to be infinite Chaos.
Muddy shadows filled the field of vision, and in the darkness it seemed as if there was an infinite wilderness, and as if there stood countless, gigantic, towering and unnameable colossal shadows, and some sort of massive structure pulsed at the edge of the field of vision and seemed to be floating over this wilderness, drifting blindly and chaotically in slow motion – a sharp headache suddenly struck him! !
Ted Reel could barely stand for an instant, the protections and caution he had constructed with all his might shattered in a second, a myriad of sharp, tiny, dizzying noises pervaded from the depths of his mind the moment he saw the giant figures, and then began to tear at his sanity like uncountable vicious jagged teeth, obliterating his personality, and began to eat away at all of his humanity, logic, and memories!
Chaotic and obscure light streams flashed from between those floating giant shadows, and along with the light streams flashed, was a thought that suddenly emerged in the heart, capable of making the steadfast saints feel instantly shaken by despair …… Subspace!
“Damn ……”
Ted Riel only had time to barely squeeze one word out of his mind before he felt that he had begun to lose control of himself, he felt as if limbs that did not belong to him were growing out of his back, some kind of viscous and icy liquid was flowing through his veins, his vision was splitting apart in the darkness, a myriad of uncontrollable perspectives were frantically sweeping through the darkness around him, and the sheer volume of the noise was almost crushing his sanity! —
In the next moment, however, strong personal willpower surged up from the bottom of his heart, and he quickly blocked out those senses that didn’t belong to him, tore down those voices in his head that didn’t belong to him, burned his self-knowledge as an “elf” over and over again, and in the moment of lucidity that he forced himself to hold on to, he felt a sudden surge of power. A vision appeared in front of him.
He saw a flickering red light, as if an ever cold, rational one-eye floating in the darkness, and there were many tiny lights like arrays of light around that red “one-eye”, and a huge, as if tombstone-like silhouette appeared around those lights, standing silently in the mist that appeared at some point.
Teddy Ryer’s entire sanity was attracted by the flickering lights, and he subconsciously raised his head and gazed at those lights, his mind then being sorted out, reshaped, and brought closer to the master of wisdom–
“Rumble–“
A disembodied boom startled him out of his vision, and the lights before Ted Riel’s eyes disappeared, and he was once again back in that dark and chaotic place.
He realized what had happened.
The patronage of the God of Wisdom had descended – and for one brief moment, Rahm cast a glance at him.
His own mind was protected – but only temporarily.
The vague noise surfaced from his mind once more, and Ted Riel found the dancing, distorted shadows appearing again in his vision; realizing instantly that he had no time to waste, he darted out of his arms and removed the Book of Wonders, which contained so much knowledge and mystery, and began to try to construct a gateway back to the real world.
But at that moment, an invisible force came from nowhere, and he felt his body suddenly leave this wasteland in the darkness, and was pulled swiftly through the darkness.
In the darkness, he saw the chaotic wasteland recede rapidly from his field of vision.
He saw the giant silhouettes that stood in silence swoop down and pass through his vision in an unnameable distortion, rising and shrinking, and disappearing at the end of space.
He saw the massive structures hanging upside down in the sky come crashing in as if crushing, and then dissipate silently like an illusion in the next instant.
He felt himself stop somewhere for a time.
In a trance, he looked up and saw an inverted massive structure close by, which seemed to be a gorgeous but eerie building with northern-style spires and eaves, and vaguely visible dried fountains and withered gardens – part of its structure was in pieces, as if it had been swallowed up and torn apart by some invisible force.
However, the next second, this gorgeous ocean pavilion has become a huge ship in pieces …… that is very different from the “ship” in his perception, but more like some kind of …… twisted and broken steel It was clearly incomplete, as if it had been torn from some larger structure. ……
Teddy Reel didn’t have time to scrutinize the amazing thing, but the next moment he felt himself speeding through the nothingness of space and time, and a tsunami of increasingly chaotic and fragmented light and shadows came crashing down on him, filling his vision!
Along with the light and shadows, there was also knowledge – knowledge that he had never touched before, but which suddenly became clear at this moment.
He saw the torn fabric of space-time, crumpled and distorted stars transformed into elongated ribbons under the weight of space, and in the moment of annihilation transformed into an eternal flash of light that flowed chaotically through the depths of this space;
He saw mathematical laws collapsing at the end of time, ancient stars out of control ripping apart into a myriad of burning, crumbling wreckage;
He saw a ship sailing aimlessly through the darkness, a ship so dilapidated as to be nearly broken, as it cruised through the darkness as if on an eternal mission of exploration, or as if it were merely a reflection from some distant time and space – and there was something familiar about that ship; And then he saw a vast thing floating silently in the center of the infinite void.
It was a gigantic throne that seemed to be carved out of gray boulders, the roots around the throne were in pieces, and a headless body sat on the throne, maintaining eternal silence in the darkness.
This “journey” was coming to an end–
For some reason, this thought suddenly flashed through Teddy Ryer’s mind – it was as if he had transcended the laws of time, seeing in advance that he would stop somewhere.
And then he stopped in one place.
It seemed to be a small patch of fragmented ground, and there seemed to be a man …… or something else, shrouded in shadow.
There was a small pile of molten, unrecognizable wreckage, and the figure, which looked like a human being but had a bizarre semblance of a structure, was leaning against the wreckage, like a soldier who had died in battle ages ago in eternity, pointing in a certain direction with his hand slightly raised.
Ted Riel’s mind was uncontrollably drawn to this figure – a figure that seemed extraordinarily ordinary and harmless compared to the countless massive things in this chaotic space.
But just as he was about to take a step forward, a great warning sign exploded from the bottom of his heart, bringing him to a violent halt.
And immediately afterward, he saw a vague, illusory gate appear beside him.
That was the portal he had summoned, but had lost at some point.
Ted Ryer instantly discarded all hesitation, forcibly put aside the impulse to look at the figure and explore this unknown land, and turned around and rushed towards the illusory door.
Passing through the gate seemed to take only a moment, and then it seemed to take a century of chaotic drifting, Ted Rill never thought in his life that the portal he had summoned would bring such a tearing sensation to him – and in the midst of the shaking of his sanity, he vaguely heard voices coming from his ears… …that of a human speaking.
“I’ve got him! Captain, I got him!”
A hoarse voice shouted, sounding excited and triumphant.
A dragging force came from his arm, and Ted Reel, in a daze, felt as if some one had seized him and was pulling him strenuously to something; he heard the waves rising and falling, felt the cold water soaking his limbs, and a brute force yanked him out of the water and into the boat, and threw him roughly on the hard ground.
“I caught it! This contraption floating around on the edge of the darkness …… Yeah, it’s a person! This thing is a person hey!”
Who was shouting? So rude and impolite …… not like someone from the city-state, it sounded strange ……
“He seems to still be fainting …… Do an artificial respiration? Hey crikey, suddenly also a little nervous …… hey not right ah, captain, I can not breathe children …… my usual gasping action is to match the atmosphere …… want to try? ”
Who the hell is it?
Ted Reel thought hard, began to “reboot” his senses and every nerve in his body, he tried to wake himself up, and then opened his eyes as much as possible.
In the darkness, some vague, shifting silhouettes finally began to become clear.
He saw the man who had shouted – he saw a face, close to his own.
It was the face of an ugly dry corpse, a horrifyingly appalling dry corpse that seemed to be on the verge of rotting away to crumbs.
This dry corpse was leaning down ……
Ted Ryer instantly felt like he might as well go back to subspace.
