Chapter 646: Restoration of calm
Chapter 646: Restoring Calm
The flames rose up.
As if a mountainous fountain of flame erupted from the darkness, the last remnants of the World Tree turned into ashes and phantoms in the fire in an instant, and then that fire meandered and flowed, transforming into an infinite sea of fire in the dark and chaotic space-a sea of fire that burned away at the last boundaries of this Dream of the Nameless One and caused everything to return to its “right place” in the dimension of reality. “right place”.
The Infinite Sea appeared, its boundless waters rippling in fine waves as the flames ebbed and flowed, the sky appeared, dispelling the darkness and gradually brightening over the flames, and the city-states appeared, shaping themselves into solid entities as the flames surged upward, and gradually lighting each lamp as the flames receded.
The whole world seemed to “float” out of the darkness, emerging from the sea of fire and merging with the dimension of reality once again. Duncan stood at the bow of the Lost Country and watched it all, and for some reason, he suddenly remembered the old elven legend – in Sasloca! In the original dream, all things on earth were shaped and molded from the dark chaos.
The scene in front of him was like the legendary “Genesis” happening again.
At the end of Genesis, sunlight appeared on the blue sea.
The flames had faded away, and the morning sunlight was spreading over from far away, covering the boundless sea and the windy harbor that was waking up in the early morning, the nightmare faded away, and all the things that had been swallowed by the nightmare would return to the real world when the sunlight rose – and those that had been briefly reproduced in the dream world, were now also at the point of restoration. The time had now come for them to be restored as well.
The huge black male goat trampled the waves and reached the side of the Lost Country in a single step, and the ancient god, once seen as the “Creator”, lowered his head slightly and rested his horns against the towering masts.
A little green flame jumped at the end of the horn and returned to the Lost Country.
“I offer the flame back, Captain.”
“Actually, it would be fine if I did it,” Duncan looked at Black Goat, “and you don’t have to ……”
“But it would be most appropriate for me to do this myself,” Black Goat shook his head, “I created her a long, long time ago, and it is time for me to send her on her final journey.”
Duncan didn’t say anything, just nodded softly.
“…… There is no need to feel sorry for this,” Black Goat added, “It was meant to happen, in a sense it even happened long ago- -long before the beginning of the Age of the Deep, Silantis had ceased to exist, and all that appeared in the nightmares was a shadow out of control, and it would be the greatest insult to her to allow that shadow to grow. And ……”
He stopped abruptly, while Duncan was a bit curious, “And?”
The black goat seemed to wear a small smile, “And …… you’ve already taken her, haven’t you?”
Duncan raised his eyebrows at that, he immediately understood the meaning of Sasloca’s statement, which surprised him a bit, “It looks like you sensed something.”
“Not really, but I can vaguely sense it,” the Black Goat said slowly, His eyes reflecting the eerie green flames rising from the deck of the Lost Country, which not so long ago He had been briefly gifted with and felt a hint of Duncan’s true power from, “Your flames have brought Silantis brought me to a ‘place’ I cannot fathom, I do not know where it is, but my intuition tells me it is a good place, perfect for a good night’s sleep for my sapling.”
The sun was brightening up, the brilliant double runic circle of Vision 001 was gradually rising above sea level, and the early morning sunlight shone down on the Black Goat’s torso, bringing a crystal-like, translucent, illusory quality to the massive body.
“The dream is over, it’s time to get back to work,” the black goat raised his head and glanced at the distant Vision 001, his tone tinged with emotion, “They’ve really built something extraordinary …… “
In the next second, the black goat’s body quietly ruptured in the morning sunlight, like a soap bubble that had been punctured in the sunlight, and silently dissipated into the wind.
Duncan stood on the deck for a moment, fuming, and glanced back at Lune, who was standing a short distance away – the old elf’s body had returned to its normal shape, and he stood slightly bent over in the haze, his expression still looking a little dazed.
“I thought you’d come over to say hello to Sasloca,” Duncan said casually, “This is your legendary Creator, and you’ll probably be the last Elf to see Him in His mythic form – I don’t have that much energy to let Him return to His mythic form so often.”
Lune finally snapped out of his daze and gave Duncan a somewhat stunned look, and after a few moments suddenly slapped his face in chagrin, “Oops! I didn’t react just now!”
Duncan: “……”
After two seconds of stupefaction, the corners of his mouth twitched, “It’s not a big problem, you can still communicate with Him, except that after that communication you’ll have to go to the captain’s cabin and talk to my first mate, Goathead.”
After saying that, he didn’t pay attention to the “Pope’s” suddenly subtle expression, waved his hand and walked towards the direction of the deck.
Nina had already happily run towards this side: “Uncle Duncan!”
Duncan raised his hand to catch this “little sun” that jumped over from mid-air, and then raised his head to look at the others who were also coming this way.
“Lightwind Harbor looks like it’s recovered,” Vanna came to him and raised her hand to point to the city-state not far away that was basking in the sunlight, “I just don’t know what’s going on in the city right now.”
“I’ll go confirm the situation in the city when we dock in a bit,” Lucrecia said, “In theory, according to the pattern of the previous Dream of the Nameless One, everything will recover after the dream is over, but the scale of the event this time is really too big, and more than likely, there will be some kind of ‘after-effects’ ‘ left behind.”
Maurice also walked over, his gaze falling in the other direction – the “church ship”, which looked like a small city-state, was coming from the waves, apparently aiming at the Lost Country, which was resting on the surface of the sea. “The Academy Ark is approaching,” Morris said, “and it looks like it wants to communicate with us.”
“Normal, their ‘Pope’ is still aboard our ship,” Duncan said, raising a finger to point at Lune, who was walking towards the captain’s cabin, “Just as well, go and say hello to your mentor, it should be many years since you have reality have met.”
Maurice nodded and took a step in the direction of the captain’s cabin.
Duncan, on the other hand, turned his head to look at Vanna and asked a little worriedly, “You’re okay already? No need to go back to your room and get some rest?”
He still remembered clearly that this beautiful young strong woman had exhausted her strength when she was first brought back to the ship by herself, and even walking had become difficult, but now she already looked alive and well.
Vanna also looked down at her body, she jumped in place twice, moved her arms and legs back and forth, then patted her chest, a proud smile on her face, “I’m fine, I’ve already rested for a while just now, and now my physical strength has been fully restored.”
The corner of Duncan’s mouth trembled for a moment, for a moment he did not know what to say, but it was Shirley next to him who muttered in a small voice and exclaimed, “MD, sports students are really bullish …… letting the sun burn to death twenty-seven times, and sitting on the deck for a while to precipitate a moment on the TM to recover … …”
“It’s twenty-eight times,” Vanna immediately corrected with a serious look on her face, “I got a little burned out just now and undercounted once when I told you.”
Duncan: “……?”
He watched speechlessly as Vanna and Shirley walked away from each other chatting about whether it was twenty-seven or twenty-eight times, and after a long moment, he smiled and shook his head.
“That’s nice.”
He heard Alice whisper not far away.
Duncan turned to see Miss Mannequin sitting on a large wooden barrel at the edge of the deck – she was facing the direction the sunlight was coming from, squinting with her head up and letting the sunlight flood her face, her two legs swaying gently over the edge of the barrel as her body rocked gently.
“It’s so nice ……” she sighed softly again.
“What’s so nice?” Duncan asked suddenly as he walked over to the figure.
Alice let out an “ah” and nearly fell off the barrel on the spot, only to be reassured when she noticed it was Duncan, casually grabbing the latter’s arm and using the energy to get herself back into a sitting position, “You startled me.”
Duncan smiled and reached out to press Miss Doll’s hair, “What are you lamenting about?”
“It’s nice to be normal,” Alice mused, raising her hand and pointing in the direction of the city-state, “There’s no fires or strange trees, everything looks familiar to me, the ship is back on a calm sea, and I don’t have to fly over weird and scary forests . …I can scrub the decks again like I usually do, as well as go back to the galley and cook.”
At this point, as if she suddenly remembered something, Ms. Doll immediately jumped off the barrel and ran off into the distance while waving her hand at Duncan without looking back, “The sun’s up! I’m going to make breakfast! Wait for me, Captain!”
Duncan watched with dismay and amusement as the gothic figure ran across the deck, tripping over a cable that appeared out of nowhere in the middle of the room and crashing into Shirley and Dog in a flurry of activity, while Vanna rushed off to look for the figure’s head, which had rolled off somewhere. ……
Almost in the blink of an eye, the Lost Country was back to its usual “vibrant” self.
After a long time, Duncan smiled and shook his head, and after withdrawing his eyes, he took a look at the large wooden barrel that Alice had been sitting on, and raised his foot and kicked the edge of the barrel: “Do you all think it’s good to go back to everyday life like this?”
The barrel shook in place for a moment, and the lid suddenly popped open.
Inside was a whole barrel full of wave amulets.
The barrel didn’t seem too happy about being used by the gym student as a container to stack the amulets, by the dolls as chairs, and usually as a table for Dog’s homework and a target for Yukari’s scribbling at any time.
With a somewhat subtle expression, Duncan raised his hand and silently put the lid back on the barrel.
Then he sat down on the barrel as well, quietly gazing out at the sunlight in the distance.
The world was at peace again, temporarily – but it was so nice.
