Chapter 638.

Chapter 638: Impact
There was a shadow, a shadow outside Silantis, always floating in this vast dark space constructed from Silantis’ dreams and memories.

Now, for the first time, Duncan discovered its presence.

“O Name of Rahim!” Lune exclaimed in disbelief as he stared wide-eyed at the massive structure that had finally emerged from above the dark space in the light of the eerie green fire, “What is that thing?!”

Duncan, however, did not answer, he just took a step to the window, his expression was unusually grave as he gazed at the piece of dark structure that seemed to crush above Silentis, but then stagnated in a certain moment, and a moment later, his eyes finally changed slightly, as if he suddenly understood something-

“The Great Annihilation …… turns out to be like this ……”

……

Corruption and distortion were spreading in the forest, spreading on the earth, and spreading throughout the world.

Something invisible is “soaking” into this elven homeland, where it pervades, the earth is writhing and undulating like swollen flesh and blood, endless fangs and eyes open in the shadows, the trees grow uncontrollably, and dissolve and rise up like flames. …… Everything seems to have lost its existing order. Everything seems to have lost its existing order, in a crazy, grotesque and nightmarish drastic changes into something else.

Sharp and horrible hissing and whistling sounds rolled through the entire forest without stopping, whistling through the huge canopy structure of Silentis, as if they were going to tear the souls of the people, echoing wildly between the world and the earth.

Shirley looked down at the earth in a state of shock, looking at the land that was lush and green a moment ago has turned into a dystopian purgatory that can not even be described as a nightmare in the blink of an eye, looking at the abyssal mouths that opened up in the forest, and rising and shrinking of flesh and shadows, subconsciously gripping the edge of the “paper boat” bulge.

“Is this thing really not going to fall?”

She took another look at the “boat” made of paper under her feet, and confirmed to the witch beside her with great uneasiness.

Not long ago, when the entire forest suddenly erupted in a terrifying “erosion” phenomenon, and there was no way back, Lucrecia took out a piece of paper in front of her, folded a small boat, and pulled her along with her to jump onto the boat – Shirley could not understand this strange “erosion” phenomenon at all. Shirley could not understand this strange “witchcraft” in the end how the principle, she only knew that the boat is now floating in the sky above the horrible earth, and the touch of the paper under her feet makes her not dare to gasp for air.

Even Dog beside her carefully put away his claws and shrunk into a ball, as if he was afraid of accidentally scratching the bottom of the paper boat.

“Anyway, I’ve never fallen off,” Lucrecia had pulled out more white paper and said without looking up as she skillfully folded more odd shapes, “If you’re too uneasy about it, just close your eyes and pretend you’re lying on the couch at home. ”

“How is that going to work!” Shirley subconsciously exclaimed, followed by another gasp from the boat’s rocking in the wind, then she noticed Lucrecia’s movements in her hands, “What are you still folding?!”

“Soldiers, the kind of ‘winged flying soldiers’ that Ginny Hathaway described in City in the Clouds,” Lucrecia said casually, “We need to know what’s going on elsewhere, and if we do run into the enemy, we need to have combatants to protect the ship.”

With that, she casually threw the folded origami figurines in her hand into mid-air outside the paper ship – several of the beautifully crafted origami figurines spread their wings in the air, and quickly became life-size, as they bent in Lucrecia’s direction in salute, before quickly flying off into the distance.

Shirley watched this scene dumbfounded, however, just as she was about to open her mouth to say something, a voice interrupted her and Lucrecia’s communication as if it was drilling directly into her brain: ”…… Initially, there was an appearance of those ‘eroding ‘, at the borders of the world, things began to take on a bizarre and frightening appearance ……”

Sherry and Lucrecia looked at each other at the same time, they both heard the voice – it was a somewhat childish sounding one, as if it was a little girl’s voice.

It was Silentis’ voice.

The howling wind swept up more sand and dust, but that storm in the desert had dissipated at some point, leaving only a disorderly dust haze raising up in the field of vision, blurring the sight and distorting the light in the distance.

“There have been warnings from scholars when the weather has just changed, and they have called for people to prepare – but prepare for what?”

The giant’s voice rang through the wind and sand, thick, steady, like a stone standing in the wind.

Vanna stood in the endless sand, looking at the “giant tower” in the distance.

She had returned with the giant to this place called the “Archives”, to this big pit that symbolized the end of civilization. She didn’t know why the giant had brought her back here, but she could feel that some kind of radical change was taking place – to the point where the “Archives” had been destroyed. With the Archives at its center, something terrible was beginning to unfold.

The sound of something being torn apart came out of nowhere, and the noise was loud enough to shatter mountains.

Vanna looked up in dismay at the great red rift in the sky, at the red light that signaled the end – in the blood-colored surge of light, she saw the undulating shadows of what was destroying the world, finally beginning to show a glimpse of its true nature before her eyes… –

Fire appeared in the forest – without an exact source, as if in a mere instant, countless trees became blazing torches, and in the blink of an eye the destructive tidal wave began to incinerate the earth-covering Tree of the World.

Sherry watched in horror as the flames spread across her field of vision, as everything – the twisted earth, the lush forests, the shadows in the air, the tentacles and flesh and blood that spread and festered across the sky and the earth – was enveloped in flames in an instant.

She heard a great noise, countless beings hissing and whistling through the flames, and she heard a terrifying thunderclap, not from the sky, but from the branches of Silantis as they snapped in flames and distortion, crashing down to the earth like giant, continuous peaks.

The paper boat swayed left and right in the roaring heat wave, the terrible sight of heaven and earth burning at the same time made Shirley subconsciously huddle up in the boat, she looked up to the sky in her huddle, and saw the branches and leaves on the edges of Silantis breaking off in the sky, burning with blazing flames as they whistled down from all around the boat, and in the roar of the canopy collapsing, she was finally able to see the sky in its true form.

Breathtakingly ghastly shadows filled her vision, and she felt as if her heart had stopped beating in that moment.

She heard Silantis speaking in her own mind – or perhaps it was this entire world speaking to her of the destruction and final death that took place ages ago –

“…… Then the sky fell, and the invisible thing struck our world, slowly struck our world …… We could not see it, we could not understand it, and we could not think about it …… What about you? Can you, those of you who thrive after the darkness, see it?”

Vanna’s eyes widened as she watched the blood-colored cracks in the sky blossom in her vision, the entire sky gradually tearing apart as if it were some kind of ruptured eggshell, and then dimpling toward the center in a chilling manner, before a sea of burning fire slowly crushed down from that fractured sky-

“As their ‘god’, I felt ‘it’ coming before they did, I felt something invisible approaching our world, I felt the end of history –A crack appeared in the Chronicle Pillar in my hand, and all things ceased to be recorded after that, and the flame …… was extinguished at the end of my vision.”

A low, oppressive whistling and a strange creaking sound came from the sky and the earth, as if the world itself were uttering a final groan, and Vanna finally understood what she was seeing, and the “answer” that the giant had been unable to comprehend.

A tall figure stepped out of the corner of her eye and came to the edge of the pit.

Vanna saw the giant standing there, looking up at the sky.

“Beginning with fire and stone, ending with fire and stone – Traveler, I feel it, ‘it’ is here again …… You see it, don’t you? You see it better than I do …… because you come from a different time stream than I do, you come from after the darkness, and you have eyes that were born after that, and you can understand it ……” On the paper-folded boat, in Shirley and Lucrecia’s field of vision, the inverted earth continued to droop lower and lower, and they were finally able to make out many of the structures on its surface –

At a certain moment, Shirley felt as if she saw rolling mountains and abundant rivers on that inverted continent, saw that there were stone-built giant cities standing on the mountains and plains, and saw that huge aqueducts and stretches of roads connected countless lamps, and that underneath the lamps, there were countless fertile fields.

But in the next instant, she saw that the earth instantly fell into barren, in some …… “boiling” like vision, the earth into a full of desert and rubble Gobi appearance.

Another world crushed down.

The earth that fell from the sky first touched the canopy of Silentis.

Silently, the final collapse of all things began to spread from that “point of contact” to the whole world …….

In the increasingly chaotic wind and sand, in front of Vanna’s eyes, the giant tower symbolizing “the last man in the world” seemed to change.

It began to shake, began to crumble, its upper layer of the surface layer like charred black rock suddenly cracked, after disintegration, but appeared a kind of gray-white …… “skin”.

Giant tower began to shrink, as if the time is reversed, it is a little bit of shrinkage, a little bit back to a “human” appearance.

An inverted, burning forest had completely replaced the entire sky, another continent had crushed into the world, and in the midst of the burning forest, Vanna finally saw some of the terrain that her companions had described when they acted in the Dream of the Nameless.

The Tower had finally collapsed.

As the world remembered the End of Days, he also remembered his original form.

He became a man.

A Sanguine with rock-like skin and metallic lines on his body.

His size continued to shrink, and soon, it was going to shrink to the point where Vanna couldn’t even see it from this distance.

He seemed to be calling out in terror – in the last minute before the Great Annihilation, this “man”, who had been stagnant for countless years, finally took a step in the time stream.

“Traveler,” came the voice of the giant, the pale god clad in ragged robes bent down towards Vanna, and he thrust the massive cane down hard into the ground, then with his other hand he dug around in his arms and placed something in front of Vanna, “Take it. ”

Vanna looked in shock at what the giant was handing her.

It was a brightly glowing, silently burning …… sun in the middle of time.

She looked up, but before she could open her mouth to ask a question, the giant had gently shaken his head, “You may take it now – Traveler, I have remembered, I have remembered it all …… Our sun is free. Take it away, it should not continue to sink into this phantom dream.”

Vanna held out her hand slightly bewildered – and the bright little ball fell into her palm.

It radiated warmth.

The giant smiled, slowly straightening up and turning his head.

“What are you going to do?” Vanna asked from behind him in dismay.

“To tell him not to be afraid.”

“Wait ……”

“It’s all right, traveler, the journey will always end, and we’ll have to say goodbye to each other someday …… because Tarikin is dead, long, long ago.

“Also, that cane is yours as a memento.”

The giant didn’t look back at the end, he just waved his hand, and then took a step towards the deep pit.

With each step, his body was becoming taller.

But with each step, his figure was also becoming more illusory.

The ruins of the archive, as it was called, gradually disappeared in the giant’s footsteps.

The god who recorded history finally disappeared into the sand, and the last person recorded by history also disappeared in the slow but unstoppable collision of the two worlds – the endless barrenness and the endlessness of the world.

In the midst of this boundless desolation and wind and sand, Vanna slowly raised her head.

The burning Silantis hung high above the world.

The time was now the last second of the Great Annihilation.

The world of the Sanguinians was destroyed in a final collision with Silantis.
